hey everyone thanks for all the birthday wishes in here and on facebook
i had a lovely day for most of it lol.. my mum took me out and i bought the wii and lots of things to go with it, my mum also bought me a new hair straightener because mine is broken and i feel really tragic without it lol just a cheap one to get me through because shed already given me money to go towards the wii.. ummm got lots of lovely phone calls and msgs which was nice, some years people tenmd to forget.. dp came home with flowers and chocolate and a really lovely card too (his present was money for the wii too, lol can u tell i might have wanted it? haha) the only bit that was a bit crappy was that i had to go and collect the catologues and alot of people hadnt left them out so i have alot of call backs to do as well as i only got 2 orders!! very disheartening out of 100!! so out of 200 catologues i got 9 orders in total which isnt really worth it.. looks like ill be finishing up all my call backs and putting in the orders i have and that will be about that because its just a bit more full on than i thought and people who usually do the job usually have a car to help them.. on top of that asha just winges the whole time because the sun is in her face or shes bored or the pram keeps stopping lol. weve both gotton a bit burnt too which im not happy about.. anyway ill stop rambling about it now haha..
bf - im with u mm gave up too soon, and really regretted it too.. when i look at some of the pics from when asha was lil and she was having reflux issues i feel sad because she just looks unhealthy iykwim?? its awful i gave asha formula on the second day because i couldnt get her to attatch she was crying and the staff at the hospital werent overly helpful.. next time i am commited to trying harder, which in a way makes me feel guilty too that i didnt with dd but i know there is so much more help out there than i knew about and that it may not be the natural easy process that i expected it to be..
md - wow asha was usually in the big category except for birth thank god lol.. but that is very big.. 13wks is still so young ashas in 1s now she is starting to fit twos tho lol in singlets and things.. but at 13wks she was 00s i think but still fitting some 000.. hope they get some help asha started solids a bit early too but she certainly wasnt having 3 meals a day until around 6mths...
cally - aww ur first accident report -hugs-.. hope shes ok!! hope shes not getting sick again too!!
katie - as for tantrums i try and ignore asha when she has a tanty usually if i walk away she gets over it pretty quickly.. she does hit her head etc but i try not to worry too much about it, if its a really terrible tanty u could try moving him to a softer place like a rug or playmat and then walking away?
anyways sorry to anyone i missed ashas finished breaky so i have to go..
hope everyones having a nice day

    Hi everyone!

MD, I have nothing to say about that baby - I'm gobsmacked, I really am! I know that you see some big babies about the place, but she sounds extraordinarily large for her age. I would assume though that the 0-1's are to accomodate her girth and not her length as well - not at 13wks anyway. From memory Alister was in some 0's at that age for length in jumpsuits (he was 70cm at 4mths), but two pieces were 00-0 depending on brand and he wasn't fat by any measure. YOu would think that with all the carry on about obese children that they would pay more attention to that and possible health issues down the track. There is a little girl in Paige's preschool class that would weigh close to 30kg and she was 4 in September! When they had a picnic in the park last term, the girls Mum was there and she was talking about her DD and her recent dietician's appt (yep, this girl has a dietician at 4) and while she is talking she fed this child TWO salad sandwiches, a big bowl of rice and veges and then she had a piece of fruit and a juice - I mean seriously! She is only a young child, she cannot get all that food on her own so she is enabling her to be so obese by giving her all that food. So while it was all reasonably healthy food, it was just the sheer quantity of it. It's quite sad really that because of the lack of education on the part of the parents that this child is set up for a lifetime of health problems. And I know I get comments about Paige and Alister now because they are such lean (but V tall) kids - especially when they know how much they weighed at birth and I'm like, but so what? Like they expect them to be bigger because of their bigger birth weight. It's all well and good to have the 'big baby status' when you have a large chubby baby bigger than everyone else's, but the novelty of that would wear off pretty quick I imagine when you have the same people commenting about how big they are as toddlers and not in a nice way either - there seems to be a very fine line between what is 'cute' and what is just 'OMG he's fat!' kwim?

That turned into a bit of a documentary didn't it? LMAO. I suppose I was typing as I would have been talking in a RL conversation.

Anyway, Re the BF Gracie, you'll find that because you're still BF Lewis, then your milk should come in quicker this time. Plus your birth was pretty hard on you, and that can all play a part in those early BF days. I remember with Lindsay my milk didn't come in till day 4 - day 5 properly and with Erin it was in by day 3 (and thank god because she didn't stop screaming till then LMAO). I don't have any regrets about not persevering with Alister (who was fully FF from 3 days old) because there was nothing to persevere with kwim? I had to give him something, he was getting dehydrated, he had no wet nappies, didn't poo for 5 days (he did a HUGE mec poo in the moments before he was born so I reckon thats why he lost no weight in hospital because most of their 10% weight loss is due to all the mec poos and he'd already done that) and he had pink staining in his nappy from the ketones in his urine - not good. Plus even with all the pumping I was doing on top of the feeding to get the milk to come in quicker didn't work - nothing came in at all. on day 5 I had an hour or two where they felt heavy like it was coming in, but it went away and not a drop of milk to be seen.

Hi ladies. I'm still refusing to believe the size thing. I have emailed my SIL (mother of niece) for confirmation. Until then I'm going to act like she's still in 00s cos that's just the big side of normal, kwim? Trill that is awful about the 4 y.o. My DD1 is 10 and TALL and weighs only 8 more kgs than that, no way would I be able to stuff all that food into her in a single sitting!

Had my U/S this morning and I'm dying of curiosity for the results. I tried to pump the sonographer for some info but she was drier than an Alice Springs creek bed. She didn't make any hmmming noises and only took 1 or 2 pics of each body bit so I'm assuming it means I don't have some funky parasite living in there...! I had the most horrendous attack of reflux last night, it went for hours and hours despite all the stuff I swallowed, in the end I was sure I was having a heart event and woke everyone up ready to go to hospy . But then I burped and suddenly felt better. FDC lady reckons that's what gallstones feels like. All will be revealed shortly no doubt.

Ladies about the BFing - I just want to say - DON'T feel bad about the choices you made when you did. You were doing the very best that could at the time, sometimes it's a product of the circumstances that you find yourself in and having support or not (not always within your control) is really a big factor in establishing BFing. It is very difficult to assert yourself within that medical setting - even ppl who work in the system find it difficult when suddenly they are the patients/clients. Gracie I agree with Trill, your milk will come in much more easily this time round.

MD, I hope you don't have gallstones, they're awful. Mum had them for years and years when I was little and she used to live on Mylanta. She finally got round to having them out when I was 13 and they took out 99! I hope that the scan shows no nasties in there *fingers crossed* and you get the all clear. Scary about the reflux last night though, it gets really worrying when you can't get rid of it.

MD - I am cacking myself here at you burping last night!! I can just imagine everyone ready to go and you letting out a massive one! So funny. But glad you feel better. Is it a good thing if nothing pops up on the U/S? At least if there was something there you could address it kwim? When is your appointment?

OK, I did not know that 5 days could be quite normal for milk to come in - you learn something new every day! If I was going again, I would put her to the breast more often to get more colostrum and help the milk come in. Although that is looking at it now, when BFing is easy, not when my nipples are sore and cracked etc. Fingers crossed your start is so much easier this time Rainy (and Ange are you still BFing) because you are on the way.

Noni - sorry you didn't get more orders, maybe with the callbacks it will increase a lot (ie they couldn't decide what they wanted so the catalogue is still sitting on the table inside - fingers crossed)

K was so cute this morning - they pulled out the playdough when she arrived at day care and when I left I just got a little smile and a wave and then she was back into playing with it. So glad she has settled in. Almost gave her carer a hug though, she was feeling so bad about her accident, we didn't blame her at all - things happen at home and there are two of us watching her, not one looking after 5 like the carer has. Although it is nice that she was so worried, show's that she takes her job seriously and cares about the little ones.

    Hi Girls,

Weights... Ok my livi is a whopper she weighs in at 14kg and Xavier is 16kg and Jordy is 19kg. Ok so weight doesnt really bother me because coming from someone that has had twins and Jordy was always bigger than Xavier and Xavier was the one that ate more. Jordy has slimmed down heaps since he been walking and is now slim, Tall and still good looking. Xavier has always been the little one and well Livi is just like Jordy. Since the short time she has been walking her legs are slimming down just like Jordy's did. Livi is wearing 1's and I am now buying her sleep wear in 2's. Livi also has a J Lo butt. lol

Noni- Sorry you didnt get a lot of orders.
MD- Hope you get good results. lol at burping

JG Good to hear from you, glad everything's well with you.

Ok, baby niece is most definitely in 0s. Sadly this means she won't be getting many things in the parcel as most of our 0s are deeeeeep winter (they are in QLD) and many of the 1s don't fit E yet!!!

AFM: Well it looks like chocolate was the culprit. But it's a double header. Fatty liver AND gallstones. Will need to see a specialist after we move and likely to need gall bladder removed. OMG I am too young for this! I would feel better if I felt like I understood WHY at this time in my life this has happened in my body (mind-body connection). On the positive side today a met a very inspiring lady who started at my gym weighing 106 kg and lost 38 kg in one year. She could barely make it around the circuit once when she started. She's fighting fit and fantastic now and about to turn 50.

Cally - Sorry to hear about the first accident at daycare. These things happen though and that was nice of you to give the carer a hug. It makes all the difference when you have carers that genuinely care for your child doesnt it?

Trillian - Oh gosh now I'm wondering how much is too much food for a toddler? I've had days where M has had a bit bowl of rice & veges for tea with yoghurt for desert. Hmm I constantly worry about weight as M is on the chubby side. Isnt that strange I wonder why you had no milk with Alister, could they give you an explanation? I wouldnt hesitate with the formula either if I was in your situation.

MD - Well I'm devestated to hear that my second lover chocolate is the culprit. I am a huge choccy lover, maybe I should be cutting down? When are you moving and are you moving to NZ?

Leemar - LOL at the Jlo butt, M has one too. Nothing wrong with a bit of junk in the trunk hey!? I am envious of your US holiday, what an awesome time you guys will have.

Noni - Oooh hows the wii going? They are very popular atm! I know what you mean about feeling feral without a hair straightner, I use my ghd every day. My hair hates me for it though. I think next time around, having more experience, breastfeeding should be alot easier. So next time around we should be fine! How is the ttc coming along?

Rainy - So come one has he popped the big q yet? I wonder if he was planning on doing it on your bday but then seeing as you both had a bad day, he changed his mind?

Just went to visit a friend who has a 13 wk old bub. She is so uptight about keeping her house spotless and her furniture gleaming. Poor M got told off a few times from her for playing with things and making a 'mess', and the whole time I felt uneasy and had to keep a constant eye on M. I cant wait to see how she goes when her DS starts crawling, then walking & destroying the house lol.

    hi girls

hayley- ikwym about being uncomfortable at other peoples' spotless houses. it's really hard to control them now isn't it? L is just so destructive.
maybe he was planning to do it on my bday but then we had a fight, idk?

md- bad news about gallbladder, sorry about that....

sherie- hopefully my milk will come in quicker this time. tbh though, i really think that L will sef-wean before ds2 comes along. he hasn't had a bf today at all. he seems to be becoming less and less interested each day.
it's weird how your milk just never came in, isn't it?

well it seems i've got a bit of a cold atm, also mixed with some pretty severe hayfever! ggggrrr, not good...and the worst part is that L is obsessed with tissues, so he pulls about 100 out of the box and follows me around pulling them out of my hand and ripping them up and laughing...i'm too sick to deal with the tissue monster!

Ok, so again its taken me forever to read through 5 pages so this will be a very basic one where I am going to have to skip some people. Not by choice just lack of brain function.

Rainy - yep...you have been norti. No Santa for you! Fingers crossed on a wonderful proposal and quickly too

Leanne - Holy Moly on the cost of those Havianas. Local shop here does them for $15 so I don't feel as guilty about Sarah having a pair in nearly each colour. (Well she does need her shoes to match her outfit ) Have you rang the centre to see if they've had anything handed in?

MD - Bugger on the gallstones and fatty liver. Don't blame the chocolate...you'll give my DH another reason for pay me out for eating too much.

Sherie - Glad that you are feeling better after all the meds your on. Hopefully, it'll all clear up quickly and let you get back to drug free as soon as you can.

Noni - Glad you had a Wii-tastic birthday!

Sorry to everyone else I've missed. Very slack bellybuddy here.
AFM - S is going well...rash is looking heaps better but still not 100%. Tooth number 12 (molar) is trying to finally bust its way through and geez...it's really letting us know about it. And thats about it...whoopee...how exciting am I?!
Oh, I uploaded some videos of Sarah to you tube and have put the link in my facebook profile. If you want to watch them then you may need to turn your monitor on its side. Gotta figure out how to turn them. They were filmed on my mobile and I thought I was filming them right but when I put them on the computer it went pear shaped. You could understand the first few maybe but then stupid me kept forgetting hence the reason most of the others are sideways also.
I've got a wicked headache and blurry vision so off to bed to try to get myself right. night night

    Hi everyone!!
Thought i'd jump on quickly and say hi. I'm having trouble keeping up at the moment. Heaps to do in the small amount of time that Hannah sleeps each day.
I haven't read everything, but noticed MM's comment about your friend telling M off. That's terrible. She's only a little cherub. Is she someone that you visit often?
anyway, i'll try to catch up with you all tomorrow.
    have a good sleep

MM I can already tell you how that story is going to end. You'll stop visiting her until she has her own nervous breakdown and the entire house turns into a bombsite and THEN she will 'get it'. Some ppl have no idea that children are more important than things!! BTW we are moving over christmas and we are going to SA (where my family is) but I think i'd be just as happy if it was NZ. Seems like a mighty fine place to live. No snakes and a lot more winter than here.

Rainy, I soooo know what you mean about the tissue monster. E is into ripping EVERYTHING at the moment, bit of a problem yesterday as I had the fan on and bits of paperwork i was trying ot sort kept falling off the table. Nothing that a bit of sticky won't fix! Are you Fessing? (might help with the hayfever side of things).

    Kate LOL at sideways videos...trippy.

Rainy - Haha oh no someones in trouble...

Jazmum - What happened with Z's orientation? This is the friend who never wanted kids then wound up pregnant and was pretty much depressed about it for her whole pregnancy. Even when I saw her yesterday she said she loves him to bits but misses her old life and doesnt really know what to do with him. She has no hesitation in telling other people's children off lol. She isnt very maternal, but she's a great girl. She will soon see how hard it is to contain them at this age.

MD - I know what you mean about my friend. I've just been keeping in touch because she really is a great girl and we are a bit worried about her going down the pnd track as well. She just isnt the mothering type iykwim!

Kate - Hope the headache is gone?

H, My guess is one day it will all just *click* for her and she'll stop being so anal about her house. Or, she wont stop being so anal and she will end up with a bugger of a kid because he's never been allowed to *live* in his house kwim? Don't worry about the food - I'm sure what you're giving M is nothing like what this child eats.

Kate, I hope the tooth comes through soon for her. LOL at her needing a pair to match her outfits. Paige's best friend is like that too - hair ribbons in every colour and shoes to match every outfit.

    Hi Jaz and Cindy!

G, I always found swimming to be great for the hayfever if I couldn't take anything too strong for it - don't know why it works but it does. Re the feeding, even if he isn't feeding still by then, you'll know what to do this time anyway and your confidence will be greater as a whole anyway cause' you've BTDT.

M for the diagnoses. Mum wasn't even 40 when she had hers out - I think she was only 34-35? Bummer about the chocolate though - you have me dreading what my hepatic test results were now LOL.

I've had a busy day - shearing again so I was at the IL's helping MIL cook. At least I wont have to cook much for dinner tonight cause we had a roast for lunch. Still tossing up whether to send Paige to Preschool tomorrow or not - she seems OK, but still has loads of mucous on her chest and coughing is a bit distressing for her sometimes cause she gags on the mucous. If I do send her I will only leave her for a few hours and then pick her up early. She's only had 1 day there this term and is missing her friends.

I brought a tupperware 7.8lt 'that's a bowl' off ebay last week and OMG it's brilliant!!! Perfect for doing double batches of biscuits.

It's DH's birthday tomorrow (34) and he's decided to bail out on us and have a night with his mates - one in particular who does a lot of FIFO work will be home and he wants to catch up with him over a few beers. So I don't have to plan much at all - not even the obligatory birthday bonk LMAO!!

I am just excited to see there faces. Oh and dont know if I told you all but another exciting thing for next year DH bought me tickets to see pink. I was really bummed when I missed her concert last year.

Sherie- your DH has a great birthday
Oh and just when I say Livi has 2 sleeps a day yesterday she decided that she

    hi girls!

wow just had to trawl through 4ish pages of chatter!! this is what happens when telstra gives you dodgy modems and they die! now we have 3 mobile broadband...so feeling very modern...still dont have a mobile phone, but hey, we are getting there LOL!

MM: that's great that you are keeping an eye on your friend. pnd can come in all kinds of disguises, so ppl can look happy and functional, but appearances can be deceiving (i was brilliant at hiding mine!).

Sherie: jealous about your tupperware! i have a lady calling me fairly often ATM to organise a party, but none of my friends are keen ($$ are turning them off) so am pretty bummed. but i guess i can just try to order directly from her.

MD: well re the diagnosis...at least you did it good and proper! but seriously, big hugs your way, . my friend felt such relief when hers were taken out, she was like a different person. fingerscrossed that you dont have to wait too long.

that baby is big! leila is a tiny bub, but she is still tripping the light fantastic in 00 to 0s... i *think* that she may be reaching 8.5kgs...

Kate: oh you poor thing! that headache sounds really nasty.

As for the BF, mine came in on the second night. i have to have a little giggle cause i reckon it came in so fast cause i went to a BF workshop and they showed us how to express our colostrum...i became addicted LOL! (hhmmm maybe that's why L was 2 weeks early! LOL!!!).

AFM: well same old same old here. L is doing great guns (although did a poo in our friends sandpit yesterday - they were doing nudie rudies in the backyard and i was too slow on the uptake...ooops! LOL!).
