Ange - lol at pot belly like Santa's!! We've got one of them here too (actually more than one if you look at mine too....). Hope you're on the mend.

PAP - you do sound like you've been in a bad way. Hope the holiday goes well. Which bit of the south coast are you coming down too (not that I'll be here anyway)

Rainy - hope swimming went well. glad the ob is happy with everything.

Arte - lol at bfeeding in front of the whole town!!

JG - how is the IU going? any more episodes?

AFM - chicken pox has made its presence known at day care. So far has got a couple of the preschool kids, so none of the littlies yet. Just have to wait and see if K gets it. So we might be having a spotty Christmas as it takes 7-10 days for the spots to appear. And we have both right hand side molars making their presence known, but luckily she doesn't seem worried by it. She wants us in with her while she goes to sleep still but I don't think that's related to anything. She stands up and cries and shakes the cot, but the moment we walk in she lies down and cuddles her giraffe. Starts off kind of cute but after going back and forth for a while, kind of loses the cuteness!!

And DH's kids did really well in the HSC, so he's v excited - he's a clever little teacher!

i'm soooo soooo tired and whingey atm. my house looks like some teenagers have had a party here and my dh is completely useless. unfortunately marriage has not encouraged him to pull his finger out at all.

ange- sounds like hell at your house atm too. if you want to meet up at a play centre (lilydale?) one morning next week or something, let me know. they can run a muck together and then we can sleep all afternoon.

cally- well done to dh for his students doing so well. v rewarding for a year's hard work.
i hope the pox give you guys a miss!

pap- you must be sooo looking forward to going away. you deserve it after being so busy this year. when do you plan on finishing up work?

Hi all, well we are back from Melbourne. What a cool place it is, loved it, loved the shops. We stayed in Praharn? (cant spell it lol) and Chapel St was 50 metres away, so we spent alot of time walking up and down that street. Went to the bonds factory, the zoo, shopped in the city, luna park, st kilda beach & got squished in the trams in peak hour. Rainy I walked up and down Chapel looking for oobi, went to two kids centrals and all the pretty dresses were sold out in M's size, guess everyone is buying them for chrissy so I am sad to say I couldnt get a dress!! Came back with 3 boxes of krispy kremes though but DP has taken them to work thank god.

Now onto the bad part, hehe. We stayed with DP's brother & his wife & their 11 month old. What a mission. He is the perfect baby, so well behaved, just sits there, barely makes a noise and barely smiles (which is another worry in itself but oh well). M was constantly compared to him and it drove us nuts something chronic. All I got was comments like 'cant believe she is waking at night still' & 'he is learning from M that as soon as you cry you get picked up' & 'I would never put my baby in a bonds wondersuit they are so ugly'. Needless to say I cracked it big time on a couple of occassions and yes we kinda left on bad terms. They treat their baby like a robot, everything is done on the dot. He goes down at 2 on the dot and if he doesnt like it he cries till he falls asleep. He stays in bed till 11am each day as the father does night shift & wont allow the baby to be up at a normal time as the father needs sleep. Not once did I comment on their parenting skills, as everyone parents differently, but all DP & I got was 'tips' on ways to discipline her etc. When their son does a happy squeal, they shush him so he wont disturb the people living below. So we basically spent the entire time there walking on tip toes. I am SO glad to be home.

Now something else I need to get off my chest. All this comparing of babies started to really get me down, to the point where I was almost resenting M and questioning myself and my parenting skills. One night after having M wake up constantly I had a major breakdown and just cried and cried. I felt so out of control. Why is their 11 month old sleeping through & mine isnt, why does he sit still in the pram and M cries and thrashes about to be let out etc etc. Anyway now that we are home I am hoping these feelings will settle down, but I must admit I am worried about myself as I have been feeling angry at times with M during the night for waking me up, as selfish as it sounds. And it scares me to admit this, but sometimes I just want to smack her, that cant be good can it!? This isnt normal behaviour is it? I am hoping its just my pill messing with my hormones, so I am coming off it.

MM- if it's the pill messing with your hormones then i am in big trouble as i am not on the pill and sometimes have feelings like that. The other day when she was awake at 4am and i was exhausted i had to put her in her cot crying b/c i was scared i was going to shake her/yell at her or just loose it. I felt so guilty afterwards. I think it is fairly normal to have those feelings when you are sleep deprived, tired and especially if you are under pressure at someone elses house to be quite. I think the problem is that people don't like to talk about it. So i hope you're normal otherwise we'll both head off for councelling. ;)
Glad you had a lovely time in Melb, the people you stayed with sound shocking! Again i think M's behaviour sounds much more along the lines of what i would expect than wht you describe in their child. Don't let people and their silly opinions get to you. You are doing a great job and M is a healthy happy adventurous 1 year old. Lu is very boisterous and into everything, she pinches when she is mad and has massive tantrums. i thought there was perhas someting 'wrong' with her. i spoke to my MCHN about it and said it more likely means she is a little advanced with her emotions, but being so little it is hard for her to express how she feels so she chucks a wobbly. Again, if there is an issue with M then there is certainly one with Lu!


Thanks for all your well wishes, i am feeling much better today and Lu slept last night thank goodness. I have my oldest friend coming to visit, she's been living in an aboriginal community for 12 motnhs in NT so havn;t seen her for ages. Can't wait. Mum is here helping me clean and do the washing, what a champ! So i better go help her.

MM: ooh sweetie! big hugs :hug: don't underestimate just how hurtful and wrong they were to cast judgement and pass comparisons. we are talking about to different human beings, brought up in what sounds to be two completely different homes. i would have maddie any day over a baby that has been conditioned to not express themselves for fear of what the neighbours would think!
if it makes you feel any better i had leila throw the BIGGESST tantrum about going back in her pram in the city yesterday. EVERYONE was staring and one woman said in a loud voice to her friend, 'oh look at the poor child's face! look at those tears!'. i was like WTF??!! she is throwing a major tantrum cause she's not getting her way (i so dont want her getting lost in the christmas crowds) and you are feeling sorry FOR HER???

as for feeling frustrated i think it's just a normal reaction especially after a long trip away from home. where everyone is just so tired. i too have spent nights crying big fat tears over her cot as she screams into the early hours. hang in there sweet. when i feel the anger and frustration build up i just leave the room. at that point it's doing none of us any favours to have me in there so i go out and either take a breather and go back in or get DH to haul his butt in there.

Thanks Falguni & Clare for saying what you said. I feel so much better today, in my own home, I can breathe again. I'm watching M run around, doing as she pleases, and this is the way it should be. I had to try and keep her quiet in Melbourne, I'm sure you can all imagine how impossibly hard that was. I turned into a nervous wreck at night when she woke I would JUMP outta bed to settle her. She ended up sleeping with us alot (another big mistake according to the BIL, thanks for that tip you idiot haha) as she just wasnt comfy in the porta cot. Their son is treated like a robot, he is totally different to what M was at his age. DP even one night in bed asked me if he is 'normal'. I just assume he is quiet and placid, but he is also so discliplined at his age, its sad. I just could not handle the two of them being constantly compared, they are totally different. Also M's routine was thrown totally out of whack with the time difference, and according to my BIL she has no routine at all. I could have killed him. No joke I felt like a complete failure as a mother. Everything down to her clothing was picked on, as their son only wears esprit, country road and seed.

Anyway something positive, I was so proud of M. We went to chadstone and I was in esprit kids with the SIL :rolleyes:. Anyway MIL took M for a walk down the mall and they got to about the fifth shop on the opposite side, then M turned and walked all the way back to me in esprit kids with the MIL following her. Good memory or what!?

Hmmm I could so turn this into a b**** fest, she is a complete snob (we all have no idea why her family are average people iykwim) & he is obsessed with becoming a millionaire. They just bought a new car for her, but he has the keys and she asks permission to take it. He watches what she eats, she cant have anything 'naughty'. He picks on her weight constantly, she is a healthy size 10/12!!! They only wear labels and I walked into an op shop and she wouldnt come in it. She wont shop at Aldi. Out of curiosity I asked her what the Melbourne equivalent of the area that we live in, in Perth, would be - she said something I cant remember and you can easily get a house there for $200-$250,000, that was an easy shot as she knows our area in Perth isnt that cheap, if only baahahahaha!! She made fun of my fake chanel purse lol. Also this will make you laugh, before bub she was totally body obsessed and would work out every day. Well now naturally she is carrying some extra weight. She asked me what size the skirt was that I was wearing, I checked and it was a size 6 (what a fluke my only size 6 clothing item LOL) and she spat chips. She then proceeded to randomly parade around the house in her bra & knickers as if to say I'm still ok. OMG like I care!!?? I am just incredibly dissapointed as I thought she had changed, but she hasnt at all, I would love to have a good relationship with my future SIL but how can I when this is the person she is. As for the suburb they live in, they wouldnt have it any other way, even though its a dody little flat and you get no sleep because people are walking down the path at all hours drunk.

MM - that poor little boy growing up like that. Wait until they have a baby that doesn't want to be 'conditioned', they won't know what hit them!! It's probably a good thing that they live so far away and you don't have to see them very often. (sounds like you got the good brother in the family too) Maybe try a post about nightwaking amongst older kids - you'll probably be surprised at how many come out of the woodwork!

Clare - DH and I both had pox as kids, but apparently not very badly. DH has also had shingles (so even though it was a mild case it was enough).

So last night I was saying the molars weren't bothering her - that was while I was going in and out resettling her for bed, then DH had another hour at 11, then another few goes at 1. What a dear though, he crashed on the couch in between because he had a feeling she was going to stir and wanted to let me sleep. So I did the 6am wake up and gave him an extra hour.

And the biting has definitely improved, hadn't done one for ages until the feed last night. It may have been an accident as she was squirming around so much, but god it hurt!!

Cally: man oh man that sounds like quite a night. Leila hasnt started on the molars yet and i can tell ya i aint lookin' forward to it LOL!

MM: OMG, reading about your SIL sounds like a script from B&B!! in her undies around the house?? Puh-lease! good on you for having the size 6 skirt! never throw it out now! LOL! i always feel a bit prettier with size 6 sportsgirl one on (i swear it should be a 10! LOL probably a printing mistake LOL!).
sounds like the bub is just a bit of a fashion statement to me. and as for praharan, well dont get me started. i went to the markets there ONCE. saw some little woven bags to buy that people were using at the market for their vegies and they were almost $100!! :o. it's all about the image down there. and as a bugaboo pram owner i held my head in shame as many of the mums there had them and were prancing around with their dolce and gabbana this and that and their kids had the prada sandals....I mean, it's one thing to have money to spend, but it's another thing to know how to live well.

Oh Clare I was so suprised at the amount of bugaboo prams getting around in Melbourne! They are good looking prams though. As for the size 6 skirt, I suspect the sizing on mine is wrong too but I wouldnt admit that to her haha!

there ds sounds like he has had his spirit broken- poor little thing. my dog is not even that well trained!! sleeping till 11am, is that a joke? stupiod pharaharahanan or however you spell it, who cares???? snob!!!
ok, i've calmed down a little now...just let me say...lewis has never slept through the night once the whole time he has been alive. he refuses to go in his cot ever!!! and will only sleep in one of teh big beds in our house or the couch or the car. when i went away recently with some girlfriends he woke up at 1am and screamed for about an hour and refused to go back to sleep and woke up other babies...um...what else...i just took him to freedom furniture to check out couches and he picked up round candles off the tables and threw them down the aisle like cricket balls, then he jumped and dove from one couch to the other head first...one of the reasons i am refusing to go to sydney for xmas this year is that i know i will get hassled non stop about my mothering- he should never be in your bed, you need to leave him to cry it out, stop carrying him everywhere, he's spoilt, don't let him eat from your plate, he needs to be disciplined, don't go to him when he cries- gggrrrrr, it never stops and i hate it!!!! i tell you one thing though, no one would evr come to my house and say that my boy never smiled or just seemed to sit there all the time like your sil's ds...and i think that's friggin great. now...send me her address and i'll get dh to go around there and disconnect all their power.

Hahaha thanks Rainy!!! Might just have to take you up on that power disconnection offer! ;) I know, its so hard with family, its even harder when you have cousins that are 4 months apart. I thought I would have a hard time with the MIL in Melb, but she was mild compared to my SIL. It just sucks because as mothers we know how hard it can be sometimes, we should support one another not be in competition. Everything you said that your family would say to you about L, was said to us. Yes in bed till 11am, we could hear him making a noise and the MIL a few times went to pick him up and was firmly told 'no he has to learn'. I mean ffs Maddie was up, running around & playing. Needless to say the inlaws are disgusted as well and my MIL was in a foul mood on the last day, so she said a few things she may be regretting now but they needed to hear it. I agree, M has her full on days but she is such a happy child & always laughing. My BIL actually asked me when she started laughing lots and babbling, and I was like ummmm around 6 months, he was shocked because their 11 month old barely says boo, but no suprise because when he does he is shushed. What can you do?! And yes she did parade around in front of my DF dressed in her undies, poor guy didnt know where to look. I dont know why someone would stoop that low to prove a point, I seriously didnt care and a number of times I loudly mentioned that I eat whatever I want in moderation of course, I dont do diets, & I will be hitting the beach in my bikini this summer hahahaha!

i honestly can't believe they will just leave the poor kid until 11am. i'm sorry, but i think that is so mean. sounds like v lazy parenting to me.

i agree, they should be supporting you in your parenting, not criticising you and telling you what to do. that is so sad that that poor little boy doesn't laugh and babble like the gorgeous maddie does. i want to steal him away for a week and let him run a muck at my house waking up at 6am, crawling all over the furniture and rubbing chocolate ice cream all over the dog! then he would laugh

one more thing..the last time i wore a size 6 skirt was when i was actually age 6.

Ok let me explain the 11am situation in more detail. He does wake and gets up at around 6am, his mum gives him his morning bottle and gets herself ready for work. She leaves the house around 7am and he is put back into bed from 7am to 11am, while the father sleeps in. She works till 1pm, comes home, and he leaves for work late in the arvo and works till the early hours of the morning, hence his need to sleep in. However we were all worried about this as he is put back into the cot around 7am with stacks of toys, in the hope he will fall asleep, or if not has plenty of toys to keep him happy till dad gets him up at 11am. Apparently sometimes he cries but they leave him so he can 'learn' that he cant get up yet, and the dad puts ear plugs in. Its disgusting. This is an example of how they treat their son like a robot.

Something else while I remember, this little boy eats like a trooper, he devours everything in sight but he's a tiny little thing, its suprising. Anyway so he had his dinner, ate stacks, triple what M had, and she gave him his bed time bottle. Well for the first time ever he didnt finish his bottle, which wasnt a suprise to me as he surely couldnt fit it in. So she got really frustrated, she is holding the poor boy down with the teat in his mouth, trying to force him to drink. There was literally 30mls left, ffs get over it. He was bawling and trying to get away from it. Eventually he knocks it away, she picks him up, and storms off to put him to bed and kicks the bottle into the wall violently on the way. It really was distressing to watch, MIL just looked at one another like wtf! They are just so controlling of him, everything has to be perfect, everything has to be done on the time on the dot. I just wanted to scream, HE'S A BABY!!!!!

H, all I have to say about all that is even though M can be quite a handful at times (and what 15mo isn't a handful?) at least she will know that she is loved. The way they treat that boy is going to come back and bite them on the ass big time - it's all karma baby!

G, great to hear the appt went well for you.
PP, I had a bit of scar tissue and adhesions on my bowel removed as well as adhesions in a few other places. How are things for you now? is it settling?

Cally, at least if she does get chicken pox you wont have to worry about the vaccination for it. Well done for your DH too! he must have been as excited as his students were waiting for the results.

AFM, Yesterday the big two had their presentation day and Erin got an award (as all kindergarten students do each year) and Lindsay got the Music award (which was a $15 book voucher) and also the Jay Tucker Memorial Award for Kindness, which is a trophy award that goes to a student in year 2 who displays kindness to all their peers etc. Jay Tucker was a little boy who had muscular dystrophy and a few other disabilities and he only made it to year 2 at school before he passed away and the award is in recognition of kindness to exemplify the kindness shown to him by his peers etc. I was so proud of him it made me cry LOL - I had no idea he was getting it. He is underwhelmed by it all and I don't think he realises just how special an award it is because afterwards he asked my why everyone was saying congratulations to him.

I also got the bill for the anaesthetist in the mail yesterday and I thought I was in surgery for a while cause I went in at 8.30am and when I woke up in recovery it was 9.50 and in his quote he said my out of pocket would be up to $300 depending on the length of the surgery and it came in at $272. Thank god we have PHI this time though.

Not much else going on really. Last day of school tomorrow YAY, but I don't know if I will send them or not, seems like too much effort to get them ready LOL.

Ohhh Trill that made me tear up as well, good on him! That is a very special award, I would be so proud as well if he was my son. Obviously you have done well with teaching him the values of empathy & kindness. Well done to Erin as well.

OMG earlier today M went down for her nap, all was well until she started screaming like she was in pain. So I rushed in & there she is, with her chubba legs well and truly both wedged through the bars in the cot. I tried to pull her out but they were firmly stuck and I was worried about dislocating her legs or something. SO I thought fast and got some butter from the fridge, oiled up her legs, and she slipped out. LOL I had a little laugh about it once I had her out, but at the time I didnt know what to do!! Good story for her 21st hey

Your poor little nephew, must have been horrible to watch. With regards to feeling like a crap mum, we all do at some stage. My neighbour and I were comparing notes today on just how stressful our children are being at the moment lol.

Sherie I had a tear as I read about L's award. You must be so proud.

I really cant remember anything else I read, lol. Got my hair done tonight and it is super blonde. Have a busy weekend ahead before we leave for the big drive to Sydney on Tuesday. I can't wait for Christmas this year there is 9 kids aged 1-12 and Santa is swinging by with presents on Christmas Eve.

not keeping up as usual these days!!
went to the dr yesterday for a range of things.. ashas been sick for around 2 weeks now on and off with dioreah (sp?) n ive had it on and off too.. dr said he thinks shes fine but because shes had it so long he wants us to collect a sample of her poo to test to make sure its not a parasite yuuuuukk collecting poo another glamerous part of motherhood!! hopefully her next poo will be solid and i wont have to worry about it hehe.. also had my bloodtest and got my referal for the hospital i want to go to.. man they took so much blood i still feel like a zombie!! and we had to do groceries afterwards when i prob just shoulda gone home and rested which isnt helping the situation!!
havnt been feeling overly pregnant lately, not very sick at all apart from the tummy bug on and off and the tiredness.. actually starting to worry because i was kinda starting to feel sick and now its tapered off.. am hoping my blood test results come in asap so i can know if everythings going as it should with the hcg or whatever it is lol..
mm - that poor baby!! i mean the situation is hard obviously but imo the child would be better off in care or with a relative or something for that time poor little thing shouldnt have to stay in bed gosh thats just awful!!
trill - had a laugh at ur little quote from paige as asha got given a couple of thos magic elves by santa at the shopping centre and we let her have one and she kept opening and closing her mouth and sort of clicking and going on lol and it wasnt till later when i had one that i realised they have that popping candy in them haha..

oohh which reminds me, i was driving down in collingwood the other day and saw all the drama unfold with Chopper Reed!! it was moderately interesting to watch while i waited for the lights to change LOL!

AFM: not much happening. enjoying the L free time today as the tanties have been escalating lately and the time out is nice! i think she has been a bit bored lately as the weather is really boring ATM. rainy and windy and cold. so not much outside time which is her favourite.
we went to a house auction last night and Leila saw it as an opportunity to bust out the dance moves in front of EVERYONE :o. it was sooo funny, i had to rather quickly usher her out of the limelight, but the girl loves to boogy!

Leanne: i think i missed something, do you mean dacquaries? ooh, i love them, have to have them when i go to the casino in bris, every time!

Renee: we did the photo xmas cards last year & they were a hit with everyone. one of the ladies I worked with, still has it on her desk!

Marydean: Hope your wrist is okay. There is nothing worse than pains in your wrists when you need them, especially then. I had both my wrists bandaged whilst preg with Alex by the time I left work.

Supablondie: Hi. I understand what you mean bout being jealous & not at the same time. I am however, in a way, envious of the girls who are, esp wen I see my boys tend to & fuss over babies.

Hayley: the $1000 is a gift to anyone who was earning FTB's as at the date that it was determined. Has nothing to do with income, It may be diff if you were receiving FTB & not supposed to.
:hug: I hope coming off the pill helps, even if you try a diff one. Hun, I'd rather have M than this other kid, even if Hayley wakes up during the nite & wants to get out of a pram. To me, that is a healthy child who loves to explore & interact.

Clare: OMG on the poo. Jack was a lil similar on Tuesday, I layed him down to change his nappy & it was running out the sides & i knew I cldn't get the nappy off without making more off a mess so i pick him up & carry him, by one arm one leg, to the bathroom then had to strip my friends bed. I hope L is okay.

Fal: I hear you on the gastro! I came down sick on Tuesday, & still feel sick today (being Friday). Sorry to hear you had to miss your breaky.

Cally: I was warned a few weeks back that chicken pox was circling daycare & all I said to the lady was "good". I'd much rather have the boys with chicken pox now than like me & never have them. I hope you don't get them for Xmas tho.


sorry if my posts are all out .. i've read pages in wrong order, help from a kid!


AFM: QLD was good. So was seeing my mum & step-dad. Alex had a ball with Nah & they rode those horses on a stick around the house. Then we spent some time with Ammy & her 3 kids (they came down in September, with the newborn) & then to another friends with 3 kids tho one was away. Lots of kids for the boys to play with, always good. Then we went to K8 & Ben's (jacks guardian's) where the boys absolutely love & they played with Amanda. Then on the Sunday we went to a park where we met up with ex-DH's family & had a morning tea (supplied by me & k8). On Monday we went to hillcrest for the nite. Getting ready to come home on the tuesday, we get up, boys have runny nappy's & then I end up in the toilet. After a bit I was heaving my guts up & my friend heard & felt so bad for me. We ended up staying two more nites & finally got home l8 yst afternoon, still not feeling 100% but we are home! Only to find that the freezer door had come open & had partially defrosted itself.

Observant kids: They are clever ... I looked up one day to see Alex waddling around with a pad between his legs, he had even unwrapped it.

Alex is talking a mile a minute lately & I have no idea what he is saying. Jack has a few new words inc "uck" which is all he said this morning. He also claps & says "yay" when i go to the toilet (copying from when i was toilet traning alex).

Dont worry I was having a laugh at M and her butter legs too. I couldnt get a pic as she was crying and I was panicking lol. I still have no idea how she got her legs that far in, she must have backed up and kept backing up trying to get out. What a disaster haha!!

Jazmum - Thats ok we know how busy you are with 3 girls. Love the pics on FB btw, they are stunning. Hey I bought a teddy bear child harness (leash lol) as well while in Melbourne, but havent really used it yet. Are you still using yours? Who cares what people think!

Noni - Sounds like the early pregnancy tiredness is hitting you now. Hope you can find some time to relax and energise a bit. Ohhh I pity you having to collect samples hehe!

Cally - Hope those molars come through soon!!! I find the brauers stuff to work really well, although I gather those molars are pretty painful by watching M. Any sign of the pox?

Clare - HAHAHA how cute go L! I love it when they dance, bet everyone had a little giggle. Enjoy your baby free time, it is great isnt it lol.

Rainy - Hang on a sec, what have I missed, when did you get married? CONGRATULATIONS!

my stupid dh put the hard floor tool to my dyson on top of the cupboard (he's about twice as tall as me) instead of in the cupboard where it belongs :doh: i couldn't find it and completely lost the plot. he's soooo friggggin annoying :wall: this marriage thing is not all it's cracked up to be you know.;)

I will have to go back over the past week to read about it all, I didnt bother reading anything after I came back from Melb as I knew it would take me forever! OH MY GOSH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! OMG wow just read back through the thread. Well done Rainy that made me all teary. What a special day, good on you for keeping your day simple and intimate. I love it. Does the MIL know yet? Do you have any pics? Cant believe it!!!

Thanks Cally. I agree, we were lucky (& as much as it wld have been nice to see her kids prob lucky they were away for the week as it may have been too many people in the house for 3 nites) & very gr8ful.

Hi Andie thanks for asking, I am feeling much better. I think being in that house, trying to keep M quiet, not getting much sleep and having bubs constantly compared was what really got to me. As for anger, the past couple of nights I havent felt angry towards M when she wakes which is good. I think sleep deprevation really, really affects me negatively. Thank goodness I have been getting some decent sleep over the past couple of nights. I am still dubious about my pill though, so I am planning on making an appt to talk to my Doc about it next week as I have to go in for a pap smear anyway. So about you, did going to QLD make you want to move back?

As for M waking, I took her to the doc yesterday to have her ears checked after 2 courses of antibiotics. They are on the mend, just a tiny bit inflamed still. The doc wants to hold off on a third course for now & see if they keep clearing on their own. I really hope so, but this explains why the past few weeks have been a bit of a nightmare, the poor thing & to think I had been getting frustrated with her!

From someone who has a child that doesn't walk yet!! I think they're a great idea. I had one when I was a kid (apparently I told mum I wanted it) and she thought it was great, especially when my sister came along.

Well DD had a temp after lunch today. So could be the teeth, could be the start of the pox. Wait and see.

Cally I hope its just teeth and not chicken pox. Ah well the joys of daycare hey!?

Yeah I know wait till her little man is off and walking, dont think she'll know what has hit her...

We are going out tonight for my work chrissy do, usually we have nice dinners at a flasho restaurant which is always nice, but over this past year and late last year, 3 of us have had bubbas. Then another girl has joined us and she has 3 yr old twins. So this year we are doing a family bbq/pool party at her house, which I think will be much more fun & relaxed than a flashy restaurant. Cant wait, only wish the weather was warmer, where are the 40 degree days summer has been terrible this year!!!

which reminds me, dh and i have been fighting a litte bit lately (the joys of being married) about me talking about the mil situation too much. he is basically sick of hearing about it and thinks i need to just get over it. i guess he is right, as i never really think about how much it must upset him as well...so hetold me from now on i need to vent about it elsewhere, which means you guys may be copping a bit of venting about it from me in the next couple of weeks. i hope you all don't mind, i just really need to get it off my chest or i do my own head in. if i'm starting to drive you all crazy with it, please let me know and i'll stop it :)
basically, dh is driving up to sydney after lunch on xmas day so he'll be there 26,27,28th and come home 29th. he plans to tell her about it over this time, so things could beome really nasty and messy over the next few days. i'm just glad i've made the decision to stay here and keep myself, lewis and my unborn child out of such a hostile environment. i'll miss dh, but i'll be staying at dad's and i'll be on bb a lot i imagine!

ok, sorry about the essay :) have to let you al know i met up with the gorgeous md today and her dh and 2dds. what a lovely family. it was great to meet you irl md, and i think your dh is an absolute gem too. he was so fantastic with lewis, i really appreciated it.

cally- is there any sign of the pox? i hope not. when i got them, they started on my scalp and then spread like wildfire.

mm- that bbq sounds lovely. so much more relaxing than a hoity toity restaurant i reckon. have fun!
