hi girls!!
Kate: welcome back! glad the move is over, and great that you have the house to yourselves. i hear ya on the booty that the girls are getting! leila has by far the most presents under the tree...
big news front, yep, rainy got hitched, arte bought a house, noni is havin' a baby, so is pregpan (but maybe you were around for that one). sherie's surgery went well, i had to deal with Leila's exploding poo in a very public place in a thunderstorm....ummmm, what else??? ah cannae remember...gone mushy brain....
MM: i will be joining the philly cheese club asap LOL!
Noni: that just sux. i reckon my family may be similar in reaction. in fact that may also be my reaction lol! no, jokes aside, i am sorry that he couldnt just be happy for you guys. but look, once he holds this new baby in his arms, i am sure that the harsh words will drop away and he'll just be in love with his new grandchild.
Andie: yeah i liked putting together Leila's too. i like a challenge.
AFM: well all good here. I *think* we may be on an unofficial TWW. we had a norti night (let's just say a very expensive bottle of red was involved ), and one week on i am just waaay too emotional for my own good. can you believe that i burst out in tears at the ridiculous christmas news story where they show ppl arriving at the airport and hugging family. like big fat tears....oh gawd. DH is convinced as i have been mean to him (his words!). so if it turns out to be a BFN, i am obviously just morphing into a mega-monster of a wife LOL!
so will have to do a HPT on monday (i think). what is the earliest one can test???
anyway, enough of that...
here's a big wish for everyone to have a beautiful and happy christmas, full of our one year olds tearing up our hard wrapped presents...
MERRYCHRISTMAS!!!
OMG Clare, that wld be exciting. I did the early preg tests & they all came up neg even tho I was. Talk to the chemist, they shld be able to help.
omg clare!!! that would be awesome!!
you have been soooo clucky lately, i knew something would be cookin up soon!
go get a test asap, i'm dying to know
Afternoon Ladies, hope we are all having a great Xmas.
Boys absolutely adored thier bikes & Jack already has the hang of the thumb push one. Spreading the pres out over the course of the day. They not into pres big time & it keeps them occupied a bit more.
Hope your having fun xox
Merry Christmas everyone!!!!!!! I hope we're all having a great day.
I'm in a lull ATM - Mum, her partner and youngest brother have not long left after being here for lunch and I'm about to go get organised to go to the IL's for dinner. Dh is at work and the kids are all resting (Alister and Paige are asleep though) and so I thought I'd pop on here ;)
haircuts went well, but didn't get Alister's done cause they were all flat out doing everyones hair for Christmas (what is with that? does it really matter if your roots are showing on Christmas day?) but my hairdresser said bring him back in the new year and she'll do it.
This morning started at 6am here LOL. I got up and did the Santa thing at 4am when DH got up for work and couldn't go back to sleep, so came on here. Lindsay was up at just after 5 to go to the loo, but he didn't go back to sleep either and by 6am Alister was awake. The girls didn't wake up till about 20 past (like that made much of a difference ROFL). Alister was back in bed by 7.30 LOL and slept for nearly 3hrs, but that gave me time to cook brekkie for us (bacon and eggs) and have a bit of a play. I even had a bit of a snooze too. Alister was absolutely hilarious opening presents and we had a few tanties LOL when he had no more to open. He also thought eating lollies at 7am would be a super idea and threw the biggest tanty when I wouldn't let him.
G, just in case you log back on today, A will go to bed at 8pm, sleep til about 6.30-ish and then down again for 2-3hrs by 11am and that seems to do him well enough in the sleep dept.
sounds like a big day sherie
thanks for all your feedback on sleep- just a quick question about it all though-
today, for example, L woke at 6.30am, by about 10am he was exhausted- he ended up going to sleep at 11.20am but then he woke at 12.30pm. this meant that by 5pm he was absolutely beside himself tired. what should i do in this situation- i would love his day sleep to be 2-3hours long, but if they wake after an hour or so, what do you do?
btw, just found out my pita bil has been getting drunk and telling everyone in sydney the sex of our baby, even though we specifically told him not to tell anyone. i'm so angry with him. this is the same bil who told the pil that we were pg before we got the chance to, once again after he was specifically told not to tell anyone, as we told him quite early (before 12wks)...to make matters even worse, i know for a fact that dh has told him the chosen name. i am so worried that he's going to spill it. he probably already has. i feel so upset about it, as i have only told the name to one person (it was actually ange, last time we met up, as she is obviousely not related to anyone close to us and i know i can trust her not to tell anyone). it's really important to me that no-one finds out the name before the baby is born as i don't want to hear people's opinions on it. this whole thing has really upset me.
sorry for long xmas day rant!
  Rainy
hi all
just a quick note to tell you all i am alive and wish you a merry xmas. i hope you are all having a great day with your families.
i have had a quick skim... so sorry if i have missed anything major.
rainy - i would be so mad if that happened to me - your dh must be the good one in his family!!
clare - oooh exciting!!!! no idea the earliest you can test, though now that my dates have been revised i realised i must have tested right on about 12-14 days past ovulation.
kate - yay on the move
sherie - glad everything removed etc in the op - spo great
md - yay on being home i am sure xmas was extra special for you. thansk for the pm honey
afm we are in noosa atm having agood time - both N and i have been sick (tonsilitis) and poor N had an accident - cut himself on a tin which resulted in a lot of blood (he got an artery app) and a mad rush to a dr. but aside from that all is great LOL!!!
will be back soon....
Hope everyone had a good day. We had presents very spread out as there were so many and trying to fit in food and naps as well!! I think K's favourite was her grobag for her teddy bear - he has been put to bed so much this afternoon. MIL presents were a bit weird. I told her K would like a basic little stroller like at childcare to push teddy around the backyard (even showed her a picture) and she's ended up with one that certainly can't go outside and has all these fancy buttons and makes noises. Also a scary looking doll that has a big 3+ on the front of the pack. Anyway....
I ate far too much, but mum and I have just got back from a massive walk so that was good.
K still has quite a temp, but no signs of anything else. One molar is through and can feel another two coming. She's very snuggly too, which I must admit I am quite enjoying her sitting on my lap with her head resting on my shoulder. No sign of spots.
Rainy - what a PITA BIL!! Might need to remove him from any further interesting news. If L only sleeps for an hour at lunchtime, could you try a short 15-30 min power nap at 4:30?
PP - glad you're enjoying the break, you haven't had much luck with sickness lately!
Trill - wow, that was an early start. Sounds like the kids all had a good day though.
Clare - make sure you keep us up to date with the testing!
Andie - glad the boys enjoyed their bikes.
MD - hope the Christmas back home was as good as you were expecting.
Morning all!
Cally, I bet when your MIL got to the shops, she saw the basic strollers, then saw the OTT one ;) and thought that it would be much better kwim? Maybe the doll can just stay in it's box for a few years LOL.
PP! You've had a huge few days. I hope N doesn't have any lasting scars from his cut. It's so scary when they hurt themselves and it bleeds everywhere. Hope you're over the tonsilitis soon.
G  me thinks BIL might need to be kept out of the loop in future, he just cannot be trusted. that is so disrespectful it's not funny. What did your DH do about it? With the sleep, sometimes they will only have a short sleep, even if you know they need a longer one. With Alister, if he does start to wake, I pop his dummy back in and readjust his sheet etc and he will go back to sleep but sometimes he is quite happy to just stay there awake and give himself time to wake up properly and he isn't usually cranky then. But if he does have an early start and you know he is tired earlier than what he normally goes down, I would put him into bed as soon as he starts to get tired. Some days I've had Alister back in bed by 9am and that seems to work fine. On the rare day though he will need a short nap later in the afternoon.
hi girls!
rainy: i think the earliest i can test is like sunday or monday...so hanging out and waiting waiting LOL!
that really really sux about your BIL. i think it is pretty insensitive of him to spill like that. i understand that it is exciting and all, but seriously, what's the problem with surprises??!!
PP: oooh that sounds really nasty on all fronts! poor you guys with the tonsilitis. i get soooo sick from it it aint funny. i hope you are doing ok!
and poor N on the major cut! did he need stitches or anything??
Sherie: your xmas day sounded packed girl! and yeah, i dont get the xmas haircut either...usually cause we are just sitting in someones loungeroom twiddling our thumbs all day...LOL! maybe i need more exciting xmas's!
me again.. yep we havent had much luck on the sickness front lately...
anyway, N seems to be doing a lot better today and my throat is also a lot less sore, so thats a good sign - just intime to go home tomorrow LOL!!! oh well we have another week at the coast next week so hopefully he will be 100% for that week. The finger didnt get stitches, but it got 'glued'. i think the dr wanted to stitch it but poor N was too hysterical.
oh so much mroe to say but N just woke up... back later probably. hope you are all haing a good day. xxx
PP: oh poor N! i have heard that glue is pretty awesome stuff tho'. can sting a bit which probably didnt help his mood!
isnt always the way that we get sick when we are on hols??? at least you 'tricked' the bugs and are having a second holiday next week!
Cally: yeah i think sherie is right. your mil saw the basic model then fell in love with the OTT one! LOL!. leila also got a dolly. she is loving it! it comes everywhere with us and she has been havng the most long winded conversations with it LOL! she also b/f dolly ALL THE TIME!!!! oh jeez! LOL!
First of all a very Big Merry (slightly-after) CHRISTMAS everyone!!! Big Hugs to all, hope you all had a wonderful day sharing it with people you love.
Clare I was LOLing as I had the exact same moment in ToysRUs too, except ours was too big to fit in the car and is safely stowed in the removals truck, ready for Happy Birthday Miss Two Year Old. Hugs on the public meltdown moment, we're all in for plenty of those over the next coupla years, always when you're doing something urgent/important too. Hope you gave DH a good talking to!!:
and we came across those radio flyer trikes with the parent steer handle and they were on sale for $75!! normally they are around the $170ish mark, so i had to buy one.
Noni, how did DH's birthday cook up go? Sounds yarmy, all the things I can't have until my gallbladder is G-O-N-E! LOL
Andi, DD1 has a small round tramp (8 foot I think). It's great, the round ones don't make kids bounce off the side so much because they are evenly tensioned. We wanted a small one so it doesn't take too much room in our yard and it's just perfect. You know you're making the right choices with childcare when you see your kids thriving, don't you. :)
Rainy, my sister is a social worker and I can hear her voice in my head saying "Borderline personality disorder" re your MILs irrational and unbalanced nature. TBH you did nothing to set her off. She would find something to go off about even if you did not exist. Sounds just like my own mother. We have learnt to create a buffer zone around ourselves and just let what she does wash. It creates a big hole in your life where that 'mother energy' should be, best just to mourn that and find supportive mother-figures in the other wise older women you have around you. xxx
Re the sleeps, Rainy, just do what suits you. If you skip a late sleep and push his bedtime forwards, he might get up at the same time but get a longer middle of day nap, kwim? That's what's happened here, anyway. Try it for a week and if it's a disaster after that, then you can go back to the other pattern and try again in a few weeks time.
Arte, yep, there really is no place like home. Although TBH it hasn't really sunk in yet. I need a few more days chilling out and soaking up the energy of the place. Glad we get a little holiday before I've got to deal with moving in! LOL W is such a boy loving those vehicles!
OK well it's been such a long time, thought I'd better split the post up into manageable chunks. (OR I could just not talk so much haha ;)).
MM glad you remembered the cream cheese trick! LOL @ M eating curry. I'm going to try E on sushi rolls soon since it's one thing I can eat. Clare I'm LOLing at zucchini soup, we usually have millions of zukes and I make everything zucchini under the sun including cake, but this year I have to BUY them (god forbid)!
Cally, are you anticipating Chicken pox? So glad no spots. Maybe it was just a viral thing with bad timing? I'm cracking right up about K putting her teddy to bed! So cute! We get totally age-inappropriate gifts from the ILs too (esp for DD1 - who is obviously older than they realise!) but this year they sent money so DD bought games & I went shopping at ELC!
Kate, gave a little woohoo when I saw you got your wireless situation sorted, it's great, isn't it? LOL at Sarah climbing like a little monkey! E's thought about it a few times but I'm hoping she's a ground-dweller like her sister. Haha I got your wish of a magical self cleaning house (well at least for a couple of weeks anyway) cos the housekeeping ladies keep coming every day! Gotta love the serviced apartment thaing.
Noni, boo to your FIL. FWIW parents are just weird sometimes. xxx
OMG Clare I'm dying of suspense. Nothing wrong with alcohol fuelled conceptions, we got E in a mist of Christmas champagne bubbles LOL. I tested on day 10 or 11 and got a nearly invisible visible line using lullaby conceptions tests.
Trill, OMG I can't believe you had to get up at 4 am to do the Santa thing. I'd not long been asleep at that time LOL. Sounds like you had a lovely day, good on A for working out the present thing! E still didn't get it even after the millionth pressie. She's enjoying her toys today tho.
Rainy - got to add re the sleep thing, sometimes when they're getting manic at the end of the day what they need is food - not necc sleep...kwim? It's when you want to have filling things you know they will eat for sure. We've found E copes better in the afternoon if she has her main meal at lunchtime, then another big snack late afternoon, then if she plays with her tea it doesn't matter, kwim? Do you think that might help? re your BIL spilling the beans!
Pregpan - far out about Noah cutting himself! Scary. glad he's ok. xxx How are you feeling now, is the tummy getting better?
Is anyone braving the sales today? We have to wait until tmrw (SA). Going out to get me some Splaydes (1070s throwback, I know) AND some funky Christmas plates (Clare Mackie). Will save the heavy duty dishwasher shopping for next week I think. Gotta recharge my brain first.
hello everyone, happy boxing day :D
md- that post was mammoth, i absolutely loved it!
ok, i might have to give the food thing a try. tbh though, i think i'm going to end up going back to 2 sleeps again. it just doesn't seem to be working. he woke so early this morning and then only slept from 11-11.45 again...so i'm thinking a 3pm nap will be in order.
how exciting that you're back home. it must feel wonderful. are you back in your old house that you were living in before, or what's the situation with that? sorry if i've missed this info!
yes i agree mil has a borderline personality disorder, big time! tell me more about how you create the 'buffer zone'. i really need help with not letting her get to me.
pap- have a lovely time at the coast. is that the south coast that you go to?
clare- pls test on sunday. i don't think i can wait any longer than that :D
yes bil is a complete tool. i am really not happy at all...
sherie- i've learnt my lesson with bil. he will never be told anything from now on. i couldn't understand why dh didn't tell his brother before he came down to melb a couple of weeks ago that we were going to get married while he was here. he said that he didn't trust him not to tell anyone, and the last thing he wanted was mil doing something stupid like getting on a plane and coming down here if she caught wind of something. i couldn't believe he couldn't trust his own bro with something so important, but now i absolutely get it...never again...he's a jerk.
yes i don't really get the whole nice hair for xmas thing. i did make an appointment to get my eyebrows waxed before xmas, but then i cancelled it when i realised it was stupid!
cally- the grobag for teddies sounds so cute. when i was baby shopping the other day i saw that you can get full on maclaren prams for dolls now, i couldn't believe it! they even had portacots for dollies!
well we actually went down to the shops for a little bit this morning, crazy i know! but i wanted to swap a perfume that i was given ( i already had it). it was pretty crazy down there. dad made me do the self serve checkout thing at safeway- do you guys have that at yours? and it was so confusing and frustrating that i ended up stealing about a kg of grapes and a tommee tippee bottle. whoops!
wait till i tell dh that, he'll make me do it all the time
not much going on around here today, lots of cricket on tv and not much else
*sends a huge wave across the border to MD* Hello! So everything is starting to settle nicely for you and you have some sense of normalcy back? It's great to hear from you  LOL at you buying Splaydes - we got some for our wedding and they even live in a crimson velvet case ROFL. But we do use them when we are having a divine cake that can only be eaten with one.
G, I don't like the self service things cause I can guarantee that at least one of the kids will touch the plate thingy that your bags sit on and it confuses the computer because of the weight etc. Plus if I use the *real* ones LOL it keeps someone in a job. So how did you go with swapping the perfume? both MIL and Mum got me the same book and I didn't have the heart to tell MIL last night.
Clare, you will have to get a pick of her BF her dolly. Alister loves pushing the girls doll pram about, but I think that's just cause it has wheels LOL.
PP, fingers crossed you do trick the lurgy into thinking you are just going home and not galavanting off again LOL.
ETA - as for the sales, I don't think our Myer out here does the boxing day thing, but they have their sale going for all of January, so I will be sure to go there when I'm over in Wagga in a fortnight.
trill- yeah that's what i kept doing, not putting the items in the right area after i'd scanned them or something. it was so confusing and i reckon it takes heaps longer than going through a normal checkout. agree with you about the jobs thing too. it's my dad who makes me do it, i have no idea why...oh well, i made him shoplift today and he was mortified once we got outside and i told him what we'd stolen he he he
the perfume swap went well, i had the receit so no drama. i actually didn't like the one i was given- it's too spicey or something so io never wear it. i got very confused in the shop trying to find another one though, there's so many to choose from!
i think you should def swap one of the books.
I'd like too swap one, but I have no idea where Mum got hers from and knowing mum she wont have the receipt still (she is hopeless like that - she's been known to buy very expensive presents and toss the receipt - thus doing her ass if she needs a warranty claim) and I don't want to hurt MIL's feelings either kwim? So I think I'm just going to have to have two copies LOL.
Bleh! I get self-checkout RAGE everytime I use them because they dont' let me put my shopping basket in the bagging area before I even start. Do you want me to use fewer plastic bags or don't you!!! However am quite happy to use the selfcheckout thingys at the public library because they aren't anal like the ones at BigDub!
OMG Rainy I think you are brave selecting perfume while you're pregnant! I can't work out if it's my nose or my skin that's different but I just bypass the whole perfume issue while I'm pregnant and just use lavender or rose oil-based moisturiser. Re the buffer zone - it's a state of mind. In the early days I had to visualise a big bouncy sphere around me that stuff just bounced/slid off, but now i've practised for a few years, stuff just slides off automatically. She still manages to get under my skin prolly about once a year but then I just ring my sister and we talk about it until it's back in perspective, kwim? Getting zen. xxx
Trill - things still haven't settled, but we're staying in a serviced apartment for a couple of weeks so I'l have plenty of time to come to grips with being here! We haven't started the mad round about of visiting people yet either. It will probably feel like a holiday for a bit. It was just so nice to wake up this morning without a massive long to-do list!
Oh and I forgot the best question of all - what did YOU get for Christmas??
DDs gave me a Sarah Blasko CD & a star made of twigs (!), DH gave me a Whateverittakes plate with the Minnie Driver design on it (just gorgeous!) and (of course) I bought myself some books and wrapped them up and put them under the tree (love from MD LOL) "The 19th Wife", "The Sugar Queen" and "The story of Edgar Sawtelle". Just finishing my current novel but CAN'T WAIT to dive in!
We braved the shops this morning. Got a lovely Saba dress for the wedding next week and some nice casual clothes. Got there at 9 and it wasn't too busy, by the time we left at 11 it was starting to get a bit crazy.
K gave me a book and a DVD. DH and I are buying each other clothes in the sales as we really couldn't think of anything to get each other.
MD - glad you're home, those self serve apartments are great.
Gotta go, she's up!
Evening Ladies!
Have been lurking most of the arvo, just keep getting interupted.
Went to Port Macquarie this morning, wasn't as bad as I thought it wld be, but still, busy. Bought the boys a few more toys with their Xmas money (Thomas additions) & Daddy brought some to for them. Didn't spend that much.
Marydean:
I agree with what you are saying about daycare & seeing them enjoy it like they do, makes it easier for me (esp after that nasty drama's on f/b) (& that thier father agree's with them going). Thursday's mum made up a gift bag for each family & did personalised baulbaul's for each child & the calander thing, & the pics of Alex, OMG, he is so young in them, even tho they wld have only been taken about 6mth back.
Boys got a jumping castle for Xmas & we inflated it yst. They quite enjoyed it for a bit.
Xmas Pres: .. Santa brought me a new pair of shorts & a sz12 tee, & 2 bra & undie sets. & 2 blocks of chocolate.
Got a new dvd player today & its being set up as I type so I'm going to check on its status .. bbl for more personals :)
Hi ladies hope you all had a nice chrissy with your family!
I got my christmas wish....a full night of sleep. Felt like a new woman when I woke up. M was so exhausted from the two nights before due to teething, and chrissy eve she didnt have a decent day sleep due to last min chrissy shopping & then not to mention chrissy day...she was pretty good though & wasnt grumpy. Anyway I figure thats why she made it through the night!
We got M her smart trike, one of those tent cubby things and a couple of small pressies ie books & hi 5 dvd. The family spoiled her rotten as usual, I had to do a clean out of toys this arvo as the house is being over run. I put a bag full away in the spare room that she has outgrown, for the next bubba.
As for after chrissy sales, we went today, god knows why we even did it. It was absolute chaos. And M wasnt happy with the crowds, she chucked a major wobbly in the elevator at one stage much to our embarrassment!! Did pick up a few bargains, seafolly bikini top (yes I have decided to whip out the bikini this summer because life is too short to worry about the baby belly) a new bed quilt & sheets, we desperately needed it as our last one was starting to fall apart, mind you it was a sheridan & lasted 4 years so it did well. Ummm we also got M one of those huge upsy daisy dolls, she fell in love with it at a friends house as her daughter had one & everywhere we went in the shops M spotted it & chucked a tanty because she wanted it lol. So we finally bought it today & it was pretty cheap. That was it, I was a bit dissapointed as I wanted to get M's flowergirl dress but they werent discounted & didnt have her size anyway. There were also other wedding things I needed to get, but seriously we just wanted to get outta there it was madness and we were getting grumpy at one another lol.
Anyway ENOUGH rambling about me me me.
Clare - WOW have you done the test? How exciting!!!!!!! I must admit both DP and I have been getting clucky lately, but we have to wait till after the wedding & also the honeymoon, dont really think it would be a great idea going to Langkawi preggers, considering last time the food in Penang made me a bit ill.
Andie - I agree as well, it makes it so much easier sending them to care when they love it. I drop M off and she runs towards the toys, she loves it, I have no problems with leaving her anymore as I can see she enjoys going.
Cally - Oooh a Saba dress, lucky you!
Rainy - Hey has DH dropped the news to MIL yet? I'm hanging out to hear isnt that sad! BIL sounds like a prat, definately dont be telling him anything important in the future. I know exactly what you mean about not telling people the names you have picked out, theres always someone who doesnt like it & they cant exactly try to sway your mind when the bub has arrived & you have named it already. Wow cant believe you can get your dad to come to the shops with you, my dad stays well clear hehe.
MD - You got spoilt yourself by the sounds of it. I got a book too from the inlaws, its the new patricia cornwell one, but her books scare me lol.
Trill - What book did you get? Thats a bummer! Put one on ebay.
Pregpan - Ouch poor N, that must have been a fright. Sorry to hear you have both been unwell. How is your pregnancy going?
Morning Ladies,
Hayley:
U sound very brave wit your boxing day sales shopping.
Jack has a tendancy to run the other way when I turn up to pick them up. Alex has once refused to come home & had to be coaxed to the car.
Cally:
sounds like you went at the right time, first up. I thought bout it but by the time I got 4 people organised (inc putting the boys thro the shower), it was a bit l8r for us. Sounds like you got some gr8 bargains.
Rainy:
How did you end up going with the perfume swapping? It gets confusing doesn't it.
Trill:
Could you trade a book with a friend or another family member?
anyways, off to play with the boys & see how they react .. took them 24hrs to accept that their father was here. 36hrs l8r, he's gone. If he was away for work purposes it would be easier to explain that, but i don't know what to say to them. I made them walk him out & say good bye that way they knew he was leaving.
bbl ..
Hi Girls,
Sorry I have been a bad BB lately just have been so busy.
I hope everyone had a wonderful xmas.
Livi loved her smart bike and dolls house she got heaps of dolly's from family.
The boys got heaps of pressies and love them all. I even got a pressie this year, my DH bought me the rings to match my new engagement ring that I got for my birthday, they are just to bands with diamonds in them and they go either side. OMG I just cried and cried when he gave it to me cause I was going to cancel them next week (didnt really think I needed them and didnt want to spend the money mostly) Yesterday I stayed in
my pj's all day and it was nice just to relax. Today we are going to go take the kids to the big pineapple.
Well its only 2 weeks now till we go away and I am a bit nervous about the plane trip.
If I dont get back on I hope everyone has a wonderful New Years. I hope to catch up soon. Hello to everyone.
Andie - At least the boys got to see their dad on christmas & vice versa. How did he feel about leaving them again?
Leemar - Ohhh too sweet your hubby is a gem. Lucky girl. You will be fine on the plane with the kids, just take lots of 'treats' and toys. Also with dummies, use a dummy chain or at least tie them to something. Learnt that one the hard way  Hopefully the boys can watch a movie or something, will they sit still long enough to watch one?
I found the perfect little flowergirl dress for M today at Myer, it was by ladybird. Only problem was they dont have her size!! Wahhh! Spewing.
Hayley:
bummer about not having M's size for the dress. don't you h8 that.
all he said was he will miss us & all i cld reply was "you know what you have to do" & he said yeah .. i'm thinking yeah right thou.
hi girls!!!
MD: WELCOME BACK!!!!!!!!. missed you woman! now dont go moving again any time soon will ya!! LOL!
Rainy: i hear ya on the self checkout. in canberra the bigw was soooo pedantic about us using the self checkout that i once left a trolley-full of stuff behind and stormed out in a huff, cause if you pay with cc you have to wait for someone to approve it and it was taking frikkin' ages. i was heavily pg mind you and had very little patience for anything at that time...he he he
MM: WTG on the bikini. i hear ya loud and clear. we just gotta shake that bootie and revel in our primal selves of women and womanliness. i too don a bikini and ppl can get a fright when they see the cellulite and dont care!! LOL!
the david jones here is having a sale on collette dinnigan dresses for girls....had a look today and they are pretty! of course 'sale' for CD is still around $100! LOL! but we paid something similar for Ls christening dress (this was before i found CD; i was kicking myself afterwards!)
Sherie: yeah i think i'll put a piccie of it up on BB! i'll try anyway. i tend to have issues when i put photos up in the gallery.
it tells me i have but they dont appear....oh well. where there's a will there's a way.
AFM: well we were only partially brave today and went to the city. it was pretty fun. we went to a posh little patisserie and had big phat ice coffees where leila started dancing for everyone! it was soooo cute!! i was so proud of her boogeying!
then DH offered to take her shopping with him so that i could do some girly shopping on my own (how awesome is that??!!!). so i 'accidently' ended up in Akira! LOL!!! bought myself the most pretty little dress! it was on massive sale (yes! akira have sales ppl!!! LOL!) so am pretty proud of myself.
i'm pretty sure that AF is on her way. feel really out of it today (dizzy and the like) and have mild cramps, so i figure its gonna happen soon :(. i guess the fact that we arent really trying ATM helps me feel ok about it. it would have been lovely and a welcome little bubs, but obviously our baby-to-be has decided that later is better for us!
DH wanted to take K to Toys R Us to see how she reacted with all the toys - won't be doing it again!! Massive tantrum when we had to get her out of the cubby house. We got her a little stroller too as she was running up and down the aisles pushing one and it was just so cute!!
Rainy - does MIL know yet?
MM - hope you find a flowergirl outfit soon. Yay for the full night of sleep!!
Leemar - lucky you, that sounds like a great present from DH!!
MD - we love splayds, had some on our wedding list and they are used a few times a week.
No sign of spots here and the temperature has come down now so that is good.
Massive storm just came through, I do love a good storm. Even though it woke K up from her nap.
oh and i forgot to add this note to MD: splayds are where the kool ppl are at! I LOVE them! and yes, mine also came in the velour, satin lined box....oh so classy!
LMAO Clare, we should start a Splaydes Appreciation Group! Maybe the fertility Gods want Miss L to have September all to herself and your next little one will have it's own month  Woohoo at the bargain dress too!
Cally, great to hear that there is no spots and the fever is coming down.
Leanne, that's so gorgeous of him to get them for you. I can't believe its nearly time for your trip either! You'll be frantically packing soon.
H, bugger about the dress. Have you asked them if they can get it from another store? Or do you even want me to check out Myer over here for you?
Andie, for my love. It must make the situation even more confusing for you at times, even though it's great that you're on good terms ATM. Even if you don't want to *go back* it will be great for the boys to know that you two have a good relationship still kwim?
AFM, well not much going on. I'm thinking of going out shopping on Tuesday, but not sure. We do need more food at some stage though LOL so I guess I will have to go. I"m just a real homebody ATM. Like I have to go and pick up some ink cartridges that were delivered by courier instead of AP and I've been meaning to do it for the last 3 days LOL.
Sherie: i soo hear ya on wanting to hang around the house. i am too pooped by all the eating of the last few days to have energy to go anywhere! we have been pottering around in the backyard, tending to our bizillion zucchini.
ha ha ha...i was thinking something along the lines of a splayds appreciation society! i am sure that BB has quite a few of us around!! i mean, a knife, fork and spoon alll in one??!! what more could you ask for?
and yeah, i can imagine that my DD would not be impressed by sharing her reign of glory for anyone. as it stands her and the dawg are competing in the same week already LOL!
May have spoken too soon - had a look at her back and tummy out in the sunshine this morning and she is absolutely covered in little spots. It's gotta be the pox, now we just have to wait for them to pop up in the big pussy crusty scabs - lurvely!!!
We went for an early morning walk this morning - and she fell asleep in the pram!! 2nd time this week, she hasn't done it for more than 6 months!!
Trill - I know what you mean about going out, I have periods like that where I just want to stay at home.
DH and I are going out for dinner tonight and mum is babysitting. Combined anniversary and his birthday dinner. First proper dinner out in a long time, really looking forward to it.
Cally, it still might not be the pox, if she's been unwell and had a fever, this could just be an innocent viral rash. Alister had one for most of last week and he was absolutely fine apart from a bit of a snotty nose. But if is is the pox then it is and it will just have to be dealt with the best it can. Here is some info on it Kids health info for parents
Cally - Oh no you are kidding, I hope it isnt the pox the poor bubba. Oh well if it is at least she is getting them outta the way and you avoid the vaccination. Wow another bub that wont sleep in her pram, we have one of those as well. DP and I look enviously at the parents with bubbas asleep in prams while M chucks a tanty due to being tired & yet wont ever go to sleep unless she's in her cot!
Trillian - Thanks so much for the offer, but we popped by another Myer yesterday & they had stacks in her size. I was so happy and DP loves it!
Clare - We have been working on the backyard the past couple of days too. I just ripped up the vege garden in frustration because nothing would grow lol. Any more news on the possible baby situation? Nevermind if not it will happen soon enough. Ohh I love it when they dance in public & everyone stops to watch and laugh, I know what you mean about feeling proud.
What are splaydes!????
I bought my wedding jewellery today from Myer with a 30% discount. I tell you I am starting to be over this whole wedding bizzo, if we had the money I'd be booking flights to Vegas as we speak!!!!
MM: have you heard of 'sporks'? they are the plastic version of splayds. basically they are forks but have a slight concave so that it kinda looks like a mesh between a spoon and a fork ITMS....
i think the baby chances are out...had an eensy amount of spotting today, so am resigned to the fact that we are out. ah well, we haven't been trying, but DH has found the excitement of possible new baby really fun! so that is nice to know that he is really keen to go down that gauntlet again LOL! we are thinking of TTC next september onwards for real...i think i can deal with the age gap a bit better if i want to be honest. Leila is a bit of a terror (lovely cute as a button one, but one nonetheless!!!).
Hey Girls,
Cally- Hope your Dinner was really romantic.
MM- wow sounds like you got a real bargin at myer. Vegas wedding sounds great. Didnt Fianne get married in vegas.
Sherie- I too am a homebody atm and must say I am enjoying it.
Well sorry but Xavier is talking to me as I am typing and I can not concentrate.
Will BB later.
Good night to all
Clare - Bummer. We feel the same way as you and your DH, we are both terribly clucky atm but are thinking the bigger the age gap the better. Some people like having their kids close but I think I need a bit of a decent gap myself lol.
Leemar - Yes she did get married in Vegas the lucky girl. I'm dreaming of a Vegas wedding but it will never happen!!
Trillian - Just read a really sad story about a young boy who was killed on a farm by a grass slasher today. Do you ever worry about the kids getting too close to farming tools etc? Sorry to bring that up but just felt a bit shook up after reading that!!
 Big round of applause from MD!!!:
yes I have decided to whip out the bikini this summer because life is too short to worry about the baby belly
OK, everything I learnt about Splaydes was in the 1970's at my Nanna's house. She was cool once so I guess it was only time before history repeated itself in cutlery. If they are Kook Clare that will explain why Harris Scarfe SOLD OUT before xmas (drat *stomps foot*).
Leanne - what a lovely surprise the rings must've been! Are you getting excited as well as nervous about your trip?
Cally - oh no!! on the pox front. Definitely wait until you get crustiness to reach a conclusion though. Chickenpox is a bummer, you can't really go anywhere it's so contagious. PMSL at the ToysRUs moment! We most definitely have toddlers these days. DD1 nearly had a breakdown in the same store yesterday as she had a gift voucher to spend LOL. Too much to chose from.
Clare - at your massive BigW self checkout tanty - I must've been picking up on your subconscious psychic imprint when I had mine at the same place. PMSL. Soooo glad I'm not the only person who can be made incoherent with rage by automation. I'm not a luddite either, love my technology ... but only when it makes life EASIER (as opposed to CHEAPER for the multinationals!!!)
I've got to say how much I'm loving the 100% entertainment value we're getting from MIssy E at the moment. Not only does she listen and carry out our instructions (!) she's also branching out on the talking front. Everything's "pretty", there are millions of "doggies" (animals) everywhere we go, and she has this (cute now but not for long I imagine) habit of saying "mine" whenever she picks up one of her new dollies. This last one having been learnt from another little doll-possessive girly at day care LOL.
Oh, I have a big announcement to make...(saved the best til last).
....I am....
...the very proud.....
owner....
of a DYSON! WOOHOO! TDE (Total Dyson Envy) cured for good. Only 400 buckaroonies at Hardly Normal's so we did good I think. (Thanks, Kev ;)). Rainy I know you'll be sooo proud of me! Also scored some wildly marked down canape plates and platter with a twee design on it, and a new toastie maker, knife block. All ready for my new home! But no splaydes anywhere in sight. :(
