Clare - Poor you!!! How long does it usually take to heal? I hope you get better quick smart. As for your cat, how sad, I am hoping for a miracle too!
Arte - I know what you mean, its just like sometimes you wish they would use their initiative a bit more. Dont worry I dont think anyones DH's are perfect (ok so I do know a couple lol) but as long as they help out now & then, well I guess thats ok hehe.
Oz - Ohhh so you have moved him into another room entirely? We were wondering whether to do that or just keep her where she is & if another ever comes along, put them in the spare. So let me know how he goes. Also with all the homebirth talk lately in the news, I was wondering how you went with finding a midwife & if you are still planning a home birth?
Trill - Yes A does sound like a real boy, wanting to get into the mud! How adorable. I agree, spending time with your kids is much more important than having a spotless house!! How are kids meant to have fun in a house where they are so restricted, due to clean freak mama! However I must admit, I really have to stop myself when it comes to cleaning all the time. Lately I've been able to leave dishes all day & just wash at night, where as usually I would wash the brekky dishes, then lunch & so on. Pretty proud of that lol.
Cally - Lucky you, a shopping break does wonders! How is the collar bone going?
Renee - Yay!! Welcome back. We have missed your input & hearing about R. He sounds like he is coming along in leaps & bounds. As for my in laws, long story but in short I finally told DH's mum to back off a bit & realise that I know what I'm doing, it was a long time coming & I wasnt a ***** about it iykwim. Since then things have been badddd lol. Family issues suck, I've come to realise that family takes alot of work.
& no, they arrived & said hi to DH & M, and not me, even though I said hi & presented them with eggs. Completely ignored throughout dinner, so in the end I didnt even bother contributing to the convo. Strangely enough MIL gave me a kiss goodbye though....!?
M didnt sleep at all today, so she was a major mess at dinner. Poor mite, couldnt wait to get her home into bed.
On an exciting note, we bought a plasma tv today. Only because they had samsungs on special at Myer for $1000 and we had $500 in myer vouchers from wedding gifts & we wanted to use the voucher for something around the house. DH is stoked, he has wanted one for ages & I've always said no theres better things to spend our money on! So I gave in....he practically did a dance in Myer when I said ok

Hi everyone...hope the easter bunny made a huge appearance in your houses. Sarah has been spoiled by EB as well as MIL. We're out at Emerald at the moment visiting famiy for the long weekend and its a bit cramped in the house, especially with the rainy weather around. So thank god for the internet. hehe
We had an easter parade here yesterday so sarah scored well then as well, they chucked lollies, eggs and novelties at the kids. Then we headed out to the Gemfields and fossicked for Sapphires. Found heaps of stones but nothing big or clean enough to cut. We came out here when I was a few months pregnant with Sarah and ended up finding one then that we had made into a pendant. So being Sept birthstone, it has been put away for sare-bear until shes old enough for it. Sarah had a blast playing in the mud out there, will pop some photos on facebook when i get home.
Anyhoo, off to the dam this morning for Damtastic. Weather is still funky but we'll see how we go.
Thinking of you all...have a great weekend
-
Good news everyone - It is easter and I don't have any sign of Gestational Diabetes!!!!
That means the easter bunny is very welcome at our house. The downside is I only got myself one chocolate bunny and it melted in the car on the way home, so I punished it by eating it up as soon as it was solid lol. Now I have no chocolate for today..... unless I eat the bunny that MIL sent for W. Would that be bad?????
Kate, I really wanted to go gem fossicking and get a pendent made when I was preg with W but DH didn't want to make the trip. It is a fab idea.
MM, enjoy your new telly. I remember the day when DH was finally allowed to get his one lol, like a kid in a candy store. Sorry to hear your MIL is still being a bit funny, hopefully she will snap out of it soon. Mine are still being weird after our blow-up at christmas about the snapping dog. Oh well, it is them that are missing out.
Oz, we have had W's room set up for months, but he isn't in there yet lol. First we were waiting for him to sleep through, now we are waiting until next month because we are going away for a few days and he is getting his canine teeth... eventually we will shift him. How is your BIL doing? Is he going to stay with you?
Clare, what is wrong with your cat? Hope there is a small miracle waiting for you. Sorry you are still feeling so ill, I was really hoping the op would be the end of it for you.
MD, hope the easter bunny bought you something extra special this year. Does H know what is going on?
How much chocolate do you guys let the bubs eat? I let W have 2 or 3 of those small solid eggs throughout the day. Am I being a meanie?
-
hello gorgeous girls
arte- i can't believe your dh calls you lazy/useless/stupid...i'm sorry but that is not on! for starters..you are really friggen smart!! great news on the gd, that's fantastic  can't you go buy yourself another big egg to celebrate? i've got 10kgs to lose so i'm trying to be good...do you need girls' names or boys'?
renee- great to see you hun, i'm just waiting till the day lewis says the f word. dh says it all the time.
mm- your inlaws are so immature i can't believe it! how come your dh doesn't say 'aren't you gonna say hello to hayley?' or something like that? he needs to man up and stick up for you.
clare- i wish you lived out east here so i could come around and give you a hand. hows your cat going?
hi to everyone else, we went out for lunch yesterday with a couple of dh's friends and their 3yo dd. her and lewis were playing all day and then when we had to leave she was crying and saying 'but i'm going to miss him soooo much'. i think it was love!
-
Happy easter everyone!! Hope the easter bunny was good to you all! Asha loved her easter egg hunt lol we put heaps of eggs out to all be shared later but asha bit most of them as she picked them up and put them in her basket haha making sure they were hers I spose :)
Have read thru all the posts but nothing sticking atm sorry ladies im so hopeless!!
Did want to say tho to arte re the chocolate ashas had 2 small hunting eggs today and might have more later coz ppl might give them to her but in the few days leading up to easter she's had about the same as W.. I don't think its wrong to eat his bunny haha maybe u could share it? Or pop out and buy yourself something extra nice :) as for dh my dh is a lot the same in a lot of ways, not understanding that its not me time just because he's watching Ash.. In fact he's always winging about how he never gets to sleep in on weekends because I would like him to help me with the morning stuff god forbid!! Also with the house stuff its never enough.. I agree with the others tho if he's going away all the time u should organise something nice for yourself to do one weekend and let him see what its like to look after W for a longer period of time! Also if he's calling you useless and lazy etc he needs a big kick up the bum coz that's not on!!
Anyway lovelies im off. Hope ur all enjoying lots of easter chocolate!!
-
Rainy, I need boys and girls names, we aren't finding out. I would buy another big egg but all the big stores with the good after easter sales are 1.5 hours drive away. So cute about L's little girlfriend!
Clare, we did consider George for a name but I am worried about old english royal names when we already have William ie no Harry/Charles etc. I was keen on Edward, then I read the Twilight books and realised how common it has become again. The girls name I was loving was Elise, but then I started seeing it everywhere so I guess it isn't as uncommon as I thought. Also my cousin is having a girl in the next few weeks and is going to call her Ella, so probably a bit close.
Noni, are you still looking for names? There is a boy at daycare called Leeshaye if you are a fan of the newlyweds lol. There is also a Delesqua and a Jordash. It is like a competition for the most unpronounceable name there.
BTW, I ate the bunny!
-
ROFL at you eating the bunny. That's why I insist on only the good chocolate for the kids ;) I refuse to eat crappy chocolate - life is far too short ROFL. What about Elsie? I lurve Edie too (said Eadie) but DH wouldn't be in it. Also Ruthie, but Nan would murder me - her name is Ruth and she hates the family name thing LOL.
Just quickly - about to head off for a shower and then some more Cross stitching - am right into one atm and I can't put it down LOL. DH is on the tractor so I will wait up for him.
Kids got spoilt rotten from Mum with chocolate - we didn't get the much at all cause I knew she would go overboard again like she always does. But on the plus side she did me a tube of Lindt assorted easter eggs/bunnies/chicks etc. I luvs me Mum....
-
Arte not a meanie at all, Logan only got one or two small solid eggs. Good for you eating the bunny too lol.
Rainy so cute about L's little gf.
MM we are slowly moving him into the new room and trying to get him to have his day sleeps in there to start with. I have an appointment with the birth centre in two weeks and will decide where I am birthing after that. We have picked a midwife for a homebirth though. All the stuff in the media is a load of you know what and is doing my head in lol.
Seen BIL today, he has n MRI on Tuesday and providing that is fine he will be going home. I have only just eaten my first egg of the day and only ate half. I hope you have all had a good Easter.
-
Well we've had a great easter with M this year, we had a little egg hunt in the backyard much to her delight. We let her have a few of the small solid eggs too & she chucked a few wobblies when she realised that she wasnt getting any more. Terror!
Rainy - Oh how sweet a gf already! As for DH sticking up for me, yeah right!! He never has & I will be so shocked if he ever does. We've had so many barneys over it. He just can not speak up to his mum for some reason.
Trill - Edie is gorgeous, you & I seem to be on the same wavelength with names because I am a Ruthie fan too.
Oz - I know theres alot of talk going on atm with homebirth. Whatever decision you make, all will be fine I'm sure.
Kate - When do you go away?
Arte - Yes I agree they definately are the ones missing out, its very sad for them. Sorry to hear you are still having issues too!!
-
Oz, it definitely is a load of crud all the scare talk about homebirth. I find it really stupid there is such a big fuss about it, it isn't like you can't go to hospital if things aren't going to plan. Midwifes aren't out to kill you or your bub for the sake of a home birth, they will call an ambulance if things start getting rocky. It is the norm here, no one really cares if you birth at home/hospital/birth centre.
-
Hey all bit of a selfish vent coming here.. I was so looking forward to this weekend coz I've been so tired and really need a break but dps been sick all weekend with some stomach thing and unable to help.. I feel really on the edge coz I was really looking forward to some extra time out and I usually get some help on the weekend atleast but im just feeling so burnt out!! Asha is being really naughty too playing on my last nerve all the time and dp actually had the nerve to go off at me when I was frustrated and told ash to go away when she followed me into the toilet!! I feel like im gonna snap any minute and kill someone!! Its also coz all week I wait for some adult company and then the weekend finally gets here and he can hardly manage to stay awake he's so sick.. I must sound really awful going on about me when he's so sick im just not coping well atm and whenever I REALLY need a break why does everyone else have something else to do and can't help out? Anyway sorry about that ladies best be off to try n find something to occupy my mind before I spontaniously combust!!
-
Ohh Noni I hear you!! Its so frustrating isnt it, all you want is half an hour to yourself just to refresh! That sucks about your DH being sick, I've had that before as well when I've been looking forward to having him around to help out. I know what you mean, you feel sorry for him but you dont really lol. I've also had a hellish weekend where I've told M on a few occassions to go away & also to be quiet, feel so bad but sometimes we all just need a little break. M isnt sleeping well atm and its doing my head in. Another thing we went out for dinner on Sat night & I never get the chance to eat in peace these days. So I know what you are going through this weekend!!!!!!!!!
-
Mm- thanx.. Its good to know someone understands!! Ashas not sleeping well atm at all either I think that's what's making it all so hard!! I hear ya on the never eating in peace thing too I NEVER eat without being interupted by squeels of 'give me some' unless I wait till she's asleep to eat and then shell usually wake up just as I sit down to eat it grrrr!!!
-
noni- it's so hard when you're pg and you feel like crap, but i promise you once the baby is out you feel sooo much better. i went through a really hard stage when i was first pg and lewis wasn't sleeping but you do get through it. i found taking lewis to playgroup and swimming and things like that really helped as it entertained him and got his energy out iykwim? so then he didn't 'hassle' me as much when my tolerance was low. playgroup is fantastic as you can almost 'sit back' and let them go wild.
mm- is maddie teething?
-
Evening Ladies! I have only just finished reading this whole thread & have had many thoughts. Forgive me for the lack of personals as as lot will be covered in general.
Easter: Boys got Thomas colouring in book & magnetic set from ex MIL, soft toys from my mum, choc bunny from FDC mum, choc bunny from my nan, Bob the Builder torch & 4 accompanies eggs from me & then from Easter Bunny, a storage container with names on each (sticker letters) & Thomas stickers & then it had inside take along train tracks & some trains & between them a small bag of red tulip solid eggs where shared. On the day though, they only got the eggs from me & easter bunny, a bunny from FDC mum 2day & the other one is still in hiding. AFM, I got myself a box of Roses on Thurs & ate most of them then. LOL
As for choc in general: Cadbury or Whitakers! I love the cadbury solid eggs that are out at easter but totally didn't buy any this year.
As I was reading everyone's thoughts after my last post I was in tears at having such a wonderful group of people here but then I had more tear when i PML at Trill's poem.
It was suggest to me to read the Sue Dengate diet on ADHD. I got it out of the library a few weeks back, still have a long way to read, but have started taking alot of stuff out of both of their diets. Its amazing just how food can effect them, & with Alex, esp the fruit he loves.
Toddler beds: Jack has one set up in his room & on the rare occassion uses it but then he makes games of it & I end up putting the portacot back up.
Development: OMG J is a lil monkey & loves to take the leap of faith (faith being that mummy with catch me). He knows who Bob The Builder is & knows to pat his knees for the Little Einsteins. We have started on the farm animals in the last month & I have noticed that lateley every time he passes wind, he puts his hand on his nappy & says "talk" (as in his 'bum talked'). His fav word is "*****". He drops something "*****", I drop something "*****". Quite cute actually. Have been watching hiim alot of late & I can't believe that he isn't a "baby" but a little man of his own. The lil cracker has had a growth spurt of late. Begin of March I put a booster seat on layby so that I had it when it came time & then I realised that he was only approx an inch from the top of his toddler seat. I looked at him on Friday & realised that he is almost an inch above his toddler seat.
SAHM's & housework: LOL, well I have to do it all, but doing it whilst the boys are home, I basically do the dishes & the washing & the cooking & cleaning up after them inc toys. Though the last few days I have been pretty lazy as I have been so crook.
Today sucks. Has been a long drawn out day & I have just about had enough. Hence why I am in the dilema I am in & back on tablets. I am so angry & frustrated & I can't control my feelings & its starting to take effect in my relationship with the boys. I came back from Coffs Harbour exhausted & everything from then has just spiraled. I have worked out I am angry with my ex but that is a far as I got. So I went to the Dr in dispair. Have had some side effects inc drowsiness thus I have been sleeping most days when the boys go down, extreme nausia & loss of appetite. I was so bad yst I was vomiting. & then I had a tummy bug & lost 1.1kg yst alone. Thank god I have put some back on today though. I'm rambling hey. Still very exhausted though.
Anyways ... I should let you all get back to your nice evenings.
-
Noni: I hear you hun. I do not miss the days of having a partner that I had kick in the bum to do things or never gave me a chance to have time to myself. When Jack was born, the only time I was allowed to leave both kids with my ex was when I was going to counselling, otherwise I had to have one of them with me always. (Until we moved then I refused to give in & would just go out). The only time I had away from Alex, that my ex had him, was when I was in hosp, or once for a girls dinner but then my friends finance came over & kept him company. The other time was my hens night & I had to go home at midnite to relieve the soon to be MIL. It does make it hard for a person when they feel that they aren't getting the right amount of support. Chin up hun, you (& us ladies) know that you do wonders.
ETA:
Clare: glad to hear bout your tonsil's (sp!). hope your recovery goes smoother now you have worked out your pain relief drama's.
-

-
Hey everyone..
Went thru all ashas clothes that she's grown out of and was pleasantly surprised by all the tings we can use again!! I have given some of it away but mostly I've kept everything haha I have a whole large plastic storage container filled to the brim with things to wash and sort into sizes for this little one.. A lot of its barely warn coz A grew so quick we won't have to buy much at all just a few more blue things to chuck in to the mix lol.. Don't know what im going to do with all her girlie stuff.. There's soooo much and I have a feeling dhs brother and g/f are having a boy.. They aren't finding out tho so I have to wait till after then to do something with it all which is kinda annoying me coz there's just soo much of it and we could really use the space!! Ahh well...
I feel soo burnt out right now!! Dh is still sick but I wish he went to work coz its sooo much harder when im not coping and I know he's sleeping the days away! I know he's sick but that really dosnt make it any easier atm! Ashas not sleeping and im just constantly yelling at her when she's up coz she's really cheeky and im exhausted as well as having trouble with my hips and back still.. I just feel like I wanna crawl into a big black hole and never come out ahhhhh!!
Better go guys Asha stinks sorry again for the selfish posting lately!!
-
Preg: good luck with FDC & getting your chores done today. HOpe you enjoy the day to yourself.
Noni:  totally understand, sympathise with you hun. Can you take A somewhere she can burn the energy off like a safe park or playground? Stuff the housework too hun. Take some time to have a cuppa, as many as you feel like, don't feel guilty bout sitting down & catch your breath.
-
Bummer ladies, it does sound a bit like the SPD back/hips thing is a bit of a theme with second pregnancies. :( I do feel for you all.
PP - yay for the extra help. You go girl. We all have these ideals about keeping house gorgeously and how that reflects on us as women, but the truth is, for at least the last 2 centuries, if you were a middle class woman with a middle class house (and any kind of life outside the home) then you usually had hired help - even it was just a washerwoman or underaged maid. I think it was WW2 when sistas had to do it all themselves in reduced circumstances when the idea of having to do it all yourself became popular. Pffft to that!
Noni - sorry to hear you are having a hard time. It doesn't help becos when you're feeling sick you don't get to take to your bed and sleep for hours!! Anyway, just remember, this too will pass and you will have your little bubba and life will go on and it does get easier!!
MM - I had a chuckle at your DH doing a happy dance over the telly. LOL men are such simple creatures.
Andie, sounds like Easter was a bit of a bonanza at your house! DD1 got heaps of chocs (we kept it minimalist this year but the family went a big hog wild) but they were all sensible with Missy E so only a few little eggies for her, plus a quacking duck from the EB and a bunny with a book in his tummy from Grandma! Glad you've started to identify how angry you're feeling with your Ex (in my experience, there's always a layer of anger sitting underneath depression). It might be worth asking your GP if there are some free/low-cost counselling services in your area - it will help you work through some of your issues so that you can feel like you're making progress and not just medicating the symptoms, kwim?
Rainy, great tip about playgroup. I'm in the market for a new playgroup, have decided to drop Kindergym for a term, but I think playgroup could be a good outing for both of us for the same reason you said - it doesn't require too much energy. LOL! Plus it won't matter as much if we miss a week here or there.
Arte, that's great they're so on top of the homebirth thing in NZ. Apparently it's like that in Britain too. If I were you, I'd be booking the cleaner and I'd make sure that when DH gets home every day for a week you are sitting on your arse eating chips out of a packet and watching Home&Away with the dinner not yet cooked. Sort of a passive resistance kind of protest, LOL.
Katie, hope you have made up for your late start with the E.eggs. LOL. Do you have a plan in place for when BIL comes home, so that you're not run ragged by yourself? I bet it could be a bit confronting for a few days until everyone gets used to the way it is. xxx I hope it all goes as smoothly as it can.
Poor Clare - oh I do hope you are feeling better day by day. Rotten luck about the painkillers. Though I suspect it's a temporary state caused by all the stress your poor bod has been under. Rest up as much as you can, remember to put yourself first whenever you can. Sending you psychic chicken soup, sweets! xxx
AFM - exciting times here, I have DH at home at my disposal so a lot of the little projects I want done are getting attention! Already he has moved all the furniture in the spare room and we're about to get compost for my garden. Organic winter veg here I come!
-
Arte- Iagree with MDre the passive protest. do it sista!!!
having a good day off - wellgetting through lotsof chores - just madeahuge soup and some vegie fritters, sis my passpot renewal (kida urgent as we are off to bali next fri - YAY!)as i dont have any pages left, tooka whole heap of N'sold clothes to women's shelter, nowabout to clean out the pantry (after i finish on here and an epof gossip girlLOL). it is passover so lots of things off the menu at the moment soi am glad to havesome food in the house. my mum is in town for work so she is coming over at about 6 - yay she can bath N tonight - he has been asking for her the last few days...
md-i so feel foryou with the pelvis last time,i fear i may not have been sufficiently sympathetic but i am in somuch pain.i am alsomourning bc i haveto stop yoga now...
-
hi girls!
not much time for personals....
BUT....:p
PP: man i hope the FDC thing gets sorted in a good way or that you find some good care at the other place soon.
Noni: sounds like you are really having one of those crapulent weeks. this too shall pass, this too shall pass lol! man, that is my mantra lately! bring on the good times i say.
ooohh mwahhh! it must be so cool going through all those widdle tiny clothes again!!
Arte: nah, i dont think too many ppl would do the whole royal family connection thing...at least i wouldnt LOL! my besties name is Jasper, and i have to say that he really pulls it off...i lurve Elsie! beh, if they call her ella i wouldnt be worried about elsie. maybe if it was ellie i would think hmmm, but otherwise keep it on the list!! Poppy is also a name that a girl's sister in mums group just called her DD...
MD: inspire me with your winter vegies....we need to do some planting in the patch...
Rainy: yup, thankfully the cat is getting better! we are so relieved. maybe he realised the bank account was empty so thought better of a downturn!
AFM: well all pretty rotten here still. barely able to eat, sleep or function thanks to a significant lack of adequate pain relief. but i *think* the end is nigh for this tonsil drama. one side is starting to feel less jabby...fingers crossed.
Our toilet training (thanks robin barker!) is starting to really come along. not for the wees, but the poos are definately becoming winners .
um, not much else to report. trying my hardest to enjoy having DH home and the ABSOLUTELY gorgeous weather (OMG how GOOD is it????!).
thinking of you all!
xx
-
PP - yeah it's bad. I don't think a lot of ppl really "get it" - they think it's just normal aches and pains from PG and they don't understand how debilitating it can get. I was only a very short way off needing a walking frame but luckily DH came home when he did. Awwww about your yoga, you must be crushed.
ETA - ok veg: will put in silverbeet - you feel healthy from just looking at it LOL plus some carrots and beetroots as they are all easy to grow and will juice up nicely. Plus prolly some garlic (if it's not too late already) and mebbe some brocolli. Plus a few lettuces cos the ones I've got in are cranking along. I love cabbage but don't like the slug element they attract, but I might have a shot at some curly chinese cabbage, it makes such nice salad. Oh and I am fond of rainbow chard but only if i can get seedlings.
WTG on the poo-training Clare!!
-
clare - glad the cat is getting better.... and glad you are too.. a little less achey on one side is better than nothing. how much longer is DH home for?
md i dont know how you did it last time... it sounds like it was serious for you. lucky for me i have a v strong core etc so i dont think it will get to that. i am majorly bummed re the yoga... i better find a replacement.i will dopilates i think but this is not the same. bah!
got a new cook book today - bill granger's new one - love it!!!
your veg sound some yummy and healthy MD. yum!
-
pap- seems to me there'd be no need to get rid off all n's old clothes.....unless of course you're having a GIRL!!!!! BUSTED......BIG TIME again......
md- wish we could have a playgroup together
jaz-thanks for the osteo suggestion. taking jimmy on thurs,he's just so unhappy
-
PAP, I was thinking the same thing as Rainy - it must be a GIRL for you!!! Sorry to hear about your poor pelvis, seems to be very common (although that doesn't help you any). Bummer that FDC still isn't sorted out.
Rainy, when W was very little I found he got windy/spewy/unsettled if I ate too much sugar (a very helpful suggestion from JaZaH for which I will always be grateful!). I experimented a bit and could eat plain biscuits but not cake or chocolate. DH could even tell when he got home if I had been naughty or not because W would be grizzley. I couldn't eat yum stuff until he started on solids at 6 months. So just a thought, have you looked at what you eat vs when he is more unsettled? Hope it gets better soon for both of you. BTW, if you are going out to Ange's tomorrow say hi from me.
Noni, hang in there. Wish I was closer so I could give you a hand, take Asha to the park or something so you could have a bit of a break. Does your mum still take her for an arvo every week or two?
MD, I burst into laughter reading your advice lol. I shouldn't really complain, he helps heaps with W, I just think he expects me to keep the house MIL clean. Good luck with your vege garden, I am going to buy some Feijoa bushes next time I am in civilisation, pretty excited about that as they are my favourite fruit. Can you buy Haighs chocolate at normal shops or do you have to specially go to the Haighs store? DH is in Melbourne next week and I might get him to pick me up some. But I have a feeling I am a chocolate redneck, I seem to prefer the cheap and nasty ie cadbury, the bunny I stole from W was Lindt and I didn't think much of it . I like my chocolate jam packed with sugar.
Clare, that is great that your cat is on the mend. What was wrong with him? Didn't one of your cats get hit by a car recently? Yay for the toilet training! No luck here (unless the bath counts??)
MM, I soo know what you mean about never getting to eat in peace. We went out for dinner the other night for the first time in ages, we had to tag team to keep W occupied wandering around the restaurant while waiting for our meals, but by some miracle he sat in the highchair and ate slow enough that we both had time to finish before he wanted out. Didn't push our luck for dessert though.
Trill, how is Erin's ear now?
Elsie/Elsa just makes my mind jump into a terrible rendition of Born Free, so I probably won't be able to use them lol. Luckily I have a crap surname which doesn't go with anything, so at least I am not limited by that!
I think today W had his first proper tantrum (I think)! He wanted to go outside but it was raining so he kept putting his shoes on and hanging off me crying for about half an hour. He wouldn't even use his words and I couldn't distract him to do anything else. I honestly don't know how anyone puts up with that kind of behaviour on a regular basis, I was very close to losing it. Very frustrating.
-
Art - LOL tantrums are a daily occurance here im afraid. I have a very strong minded little man who wont think twice about telling his mummy or daddy to 'go away' or 'dont touch'. But we are working on those ...issues :) Yesterday I couldnt get him off my leg!! *sigh* why did he have to take after his dad haha.
Checked out some pics on FB, W is growing up so big! You must be so proud. He is so bloody cute!!!
Clare - Pain relief?? What happened??? OOO toilet training sounds daunting!! Whats your plan of attack? Would love to know how to get it started, R tells me when he does poos so that could be a start.
Sherie! Oooo I love Elsie!! If we have a girl I would love it as a middle name, Shyla Elsie Rosie ....sounds a bit hippy haha. How is the family? Any plans for the school holidays??
Okay ive got to go im utterly exhausted. I joined the gym and its been killing me. I never knew I was such a weakling haha. D's back tomorrow yipeee.
-
arte- thanks for the tip about sugar, i'm actually doing 'light n easy' atm, do you have that in nz??not sure, anyway, i guess i'm actually eating relatively healthy atm. the only indulgence i allow myself is one cappacino a day and i can't give that up! i'm really hoping the osteo tomorrow makes a difference.
yes i am heading to ange's in a couple of hours. looking forward to seeing her and the girls, especially seeing as they are my boys' future wives LOL
my all-time favourite girls name (which jimmy was named up until the12 week u/s when we saw his doodle) LOL, is a very popular one...but i'm so completely in love with it i was going to use it anyway... Lily
renee- wow sounds like rory is talking heaps! that's fantastic
-
Renee!!! You are alive!!! I have missed you! sounds like all is going well with you.
Rainy and Arte - you detectives you.... hmmm are you onto me???? I willnever tell, though scarily close to D Day when you will all know anyway. just remember i was giving N's old stuf to the women's shelter since he was 6 months...it is our family thing to do donations at passover and jewish new year... Lily isim MILname - but i do love it.
Rainy - how do you find Light N Easy with BF? are you STARVING? do they adjust it so you can have more? Give Ange a big hug from me too.
Thanks for all the support re FDC - I have a meeting with the Director today. i dont think much will come of it and we just needother solutions but i will feel better for having had an official meeting i guess.
Sherie was thinking of you on the weekend, we spent the weekend at a friend's farm. i can so see how wonderful that lifestyle is for kids.. N LOVED the tractor, and had a major tanty when he had to get off. i thought of all alisters antics and totallygot how ge gets up to such mischief withall these tempting boys toys EVERYWHERE! this farm has a massive vege patch (well not a patch but more ofafield LOL) and N had such fun digging around and 'fnding'carrots etc. and he could not believe there were tomatoes on all the trees - i think he thought only apples gre on trees. it was gorgeous!
-
Rainy, I do like lily but there are heaps of kids around here called that already. And I have a weiro cousin called Lilly, which has turned me off it a bit. My if-W-was-a-girl name was Lucy, but I have met quite a few since then.
PAP, sounds like N had a great farm visit! Lots of fun. Glad you are finally having some sort of meeting with FDC, seems like it has dragged out for ages. Are you having much time off when bubba arrives? It isn't much longer now! It has gone so quickly.
-
Arte - I am stopping work mid June (YAY YAY YAY thistime I cant wait!!!) so at about 36-37 weeks... then I am not sure when I will go back, at this stage I have said probably around 1st March so bubba will be 7 months, but this willbe part time. I am trying to be flexibleabout when it is, but this is abotu when i went back last time and it was good for me. We will see.I amunsure what I will dowith N the whole time, it kinda depends what child care comes available. i will defleave him in foracouple of days buthe will havemoretime at hometoo which will be great... thee is no way hewill stay with the current carer at all though, so if i dont have anotheroption by then i willhave him home with me whilei find something- or will at least cut the days dramatically (maybe he will go to her 1 or 2 days - i fear how i will cope otherwise - my hat off to you all AGAIN).how are you feeling these days? i cant believe you are 19 wks already! when is your scan again and are you finding out gender?
I just dida big shop of basics for N on amercian apparel - highly recommend for quality and comfort girls.
-
Hi everyone! I meant to post in here yesterday but clean forgot LOL.
Clare, great to hear that you are improving. Soon this will be a thing of the past and you can enjoy your tonsil-free life. Well done Miss L on the TT too!
ROFL Arte, you gotta love the weirdo cousins. So what is a Feijoa? I haven't heard of them before.
MD, we have gone all out this year with the winter vege and have cauliflower, broccoli, brussel sprouts, onions, beetroot, peas, spinach, turnips (can't make vege soup without them LOL) cabbage, carrots, parsnip (again for me vege soup), radishes and lettuces. I'm going to buy some vaccola jars so I can preserve what can't be frozen - we stil have loads of spinach and cauliflower from last year in the freezer.
LOL PP, yes, now you can see why he is like he is LOL. But as much as he loves the tractor, he gets a bit scared of the noise, mind you it is a huge tractor (the wheels are taller than me and I'm 5ft 6) so it makes a huge noise. Awesome of your Mum to arrange for more help for you - and no it doesn't make you lazy, but by golly it will really help you out.
G, I am jealous of you getting to have lunch with Ange. LOL at the girls going to marry the boys. Fingers crossed the osteo helps Jimmy out. Another thing too is what may not have upset L might upset J, so even though you are eating well, it could be something as simple as too much acidic food etc.
Hey Renee! ROFL at you being a weakling - soon you'll be benchpressing with the best of them ;) Rory sounds just too cute with his dominant nature ;)
Well I have a heap of wet washing to hang out and now we have a dust storm  always the flippin way LOL. Oh, Erin's ear is fine now, still some awfully black looking stuff in there but I'm not touching it. We don't have anything much planned for the holidays as DH is either working, or if it rains, he will be sowing so we're sort of snookered till the July holidays probably. I am taking the kids to Griffith on Friday though as Lindsay needs footy boots as Auskick registration is on this saturday and he is busting his bum to play 'for real' but I think he's too small yet LOL - the age grouping is up to 12yo and there are some awfully big 12yos that play, so I think he can stay in auskick this year and then join up for next year. I have brought loads of crafty stuff for the kids to use though - Go-Lo is in receivership and our local one is trying to get rid of everything so it's all marked down to absolutely ridiculous prices.
-
LOL Sherie you prob wouldnt call what we were on a tractor then.... the wheels were prob Noah's size.. but he loved it (and so did DH)!
-
LMAO PAP, were you on a ride-on mower??
Scan still two weeks away, not planning to find out the gender but will be watching very closely to see if I can spy anything lol.
Sherie, you are missing out!!! Feijoas are a green fruit with a lovely inside that you eat with a spoon. They are a winter crop, I am buying some trees soon so hopefully next year I will get some.
-
LOL PP, but he had fun and that's the main thing.
Ohhhh, I think I know what they are - I'm sure I have seen them on a cooking show but I think they migh have a different name over here.
-
Hi Girls, hope you are all well.
I am exhausted after the Easter weekend, M hasnt been sleeping well at all. There's nothing apparently wrong, she is just being hard work. I spent last night sleeping on the floor next to her cot, first time I've ever done that, a few times thought she'd nodded off so went to sneak out back to my bed but she would scream the house down. Of course DH helps out, we have a tag team system going haha, but I try to do more as I know he has to get up for work whereas I can always have an arvo nap. Its so hard when I speak to my SIL & friend at work who both have bubs that sleep through no problems! Ahh!
Also I was wondering if anyone knows, after coming off the pill how long can it take for your period to arrive? I've been waiting 5 weeks now with no sign! & No not utd done a test.
As for vege gardens, I' was meant to do my winter veges over the weekend but never did. So this week I will be onto it, definately need stacks of lettuce as we are big on salads in this house.
DH's plasma is being delivered today, he is so excited its ridiculous lol.
Rainy - Will be nice for you to see Ange & compare your lovely newborns! Yes Lily is a beautiful name. My friends bub is Lilarni - Lili for short.
Renee - Thats a gorgeous name, I dont think its hippy just different & original.
PAP - Hmmmm I dunno still thinking its a girl lol. No I know I remember your last donation of N's clothing. Very good of you.
Trill - Yes I saw go-lo is in trouble, crazy clarks is too & I want to go down there today to see if they have dropped prices too, I want one of those shelves with the coloured boxes on them to hold toys.
MD - What is an 'organic' vege garden, I've always wondered?
-
LOL noeven the real farmer called it a tractor - but maybe it is more a tractrette!!! ha ha ha!!! my daredevil (not) family enjoyed it anyway!!
I love feijoas too - my grandparents had a massive tree of them and they bring back so many childhood memories. yum cant wait to try N on them..
have to get passportpics today - i need to renew my pport as it is full and we are off to bali on friday next week (did i tell yuo that already?) - great 10 yrs of a pic of my bloated preg face!
MM - poor you with the sleeping - i hear ya -i wish N would sleep through!!! do you ever take her in with you?i find that easier and then a few hrs later we deliver him back to his cot!! its kinda nice having him in snuggled up to me...
hmm no idea re thepill and period returning as i have whacko cycles - chinese med and acupuncture helped me heaps (and with TTC miss cluck cluck)
-
I know thats why I am willing it to come PAP! We have tried bringing her to bed with us because we love the snuggles too & have nothing against co sleeping & pfft to 'bad habits' etc, but the little wriggly worm just wants to play & jump in & out of the bed hehe. So it never works for us.
Well lucky for me she has had a 3 hr sleep today, which she has been refusing for about a week now, so she has just woken & we are off to do some op shopping & crazy clarking!
-
MM have fun at the Oppy! I found a new one last week but just as I got in the good bit a bus load of grandmas pulled in and it got a bit cutthroat after that LOL. Organic means they are grown without any pesticides or artificial chemicals or anything. Often they are not as purdy as the shop veggies but they contain more life force energy plus none of the toxins that may be present in the mass food supply. Also kinder to mother earth. If you're into that sort of thing.
PP - LOLing at your description of farmer N! Sounds like you had such a good time. :) GL with your meeting with FDC.
Clare why am I not surprised that you have a bestie called Jasper? LOL RU feeling better today?
Arte, glad my strike-action suggestion tickled your funny bone. :) BTW I haven't told you my list of names. For girls, I loooooooved Enid (means "LIFE") but DH wouldn't have a bar of it. Also loved Edith (Edie as a knickname) but also loved Bethany, Tabitha, and Morrow. For boys, pick any combination of Jovah, Daniel, Tobias, Micah, and Thomas.
Trill, what an impressive veggie list!! Not that I like radishes, and I have vowed to *never* try turnips as they just remind me of starving Russians and gulags. BUT I forgot to add potatoes to the list, might try growing some in a stack of tyres. They were brilliant last year, couldn't believe how many we got.
