Yay, of course it's ok. I love when other people love names we do. Luella is a great name! I loved Eloise too, a friend has an Eloise, She gets called Elly................................. but Luella is heaps better.
Trill- I am still impressed you were published.
Claire- Go Leila! Does she make you repeat everything she says? It is a very cute age when they start communicating. I love it.
So, i don't often indulge but i am going to have a little mummy gloat....... Lu counted to ten, unassisted, while building blocks up yesterday. I was on the computer and could not believe my ears. I've never heard her say anything but two, three. Of course she wouldn't do it when hubby got home. But i was so proud and surprised.
hey everyone,
still here still pregnant.. dh ended up in hospital thursday night.. infection over run him and he was in alot of pain.. on morphine and lots of anti biotics.. he is supposed to be coming home today but when i talked to him this morning he said he wasnt feeling any better so im not sure whats gonna happen.. am sooo exhausted from being at the hospital all day and then coming home to ash goash hoping i dont go into labour before this all calms down and i get some semi decent rest!! ahh well atleast if i do and hes in hospital its the same hospital and they could just wheel him over to the other building lol ahhh the joys!! 38wks tmw cant believe it!!
hi girls - i am the worst bber atm, so sorry... all is well with me - life is busy but wonderful and i just dont get a lot of puter time... havebeen trying to read and catch up though.
Noni - sounds awful for DH, glad he got into hospital - are they keeping him in today. LOL if you end up in labour and they wheel him around!!! I hope you get some rest soon, it all sounds v exhausting for you. wow 38 wks! cant believe it, your baby will be here sooooo soon!
Clare - glad that natropathy may help your Oma, and so sorry you are having a tough time atm. Are you up with her now? big hugs to you. Woooot on L's sentences, how gorgeous and special! what did she say?
Sherie - v impressive re the book! hope everyone in yoru house is doing better now. sleeping still going well?
Rainy - how is Mr J? Hope L has avoided catching it too.
Hi to everyone else - sorry this is so short!
afm all is going well - my littly is doing beautifully - feeds like a champion and sleeping ok - well feeds 3 hourly over night but i am good with that and he is pretty easy to settle at night - so far! i am trying to remember how much N slept at the start, i dont remember it being this nmuch though need to remember he is only 12 days old i guess. N is going great - he is getting loads of attn at the moment from all the gparents etc so very very happy. so into his dad atm, i am finding it hard that i dont have the energy/time for him so much atm, and i think i am not his favourote anymore. that is hard to deal with! Naming tomorrow - will be a big day and i will be gald when it is over - expecting about 60 ppl at least at our house... eeeekkkkk!!
have mat nurse visit on monday - looking fwd to seeing how much weight my milk has piled on him...
had a lot of bleeding yest, was a bit scary as i felt massive gush and it was fresh blood. hadnt had that before.. called hospital and it seems to be ok and normal... but also felt v sick and washed out all day.. anyway a lot better today.
i have put some pics on fb for you all to see of both the boys...
xxx
PAP, N just keeps getting cuter and cuter! Little J looks so much like him too!
Ozstar, I really like Eloise (DH didn't), I also like Elena and Elise. This will make everyone think less of me but the reason I am thinking of girls names is that I really really want a boy and I need to assume that it is a girl to prepare myself for the possibility iykwim. There was a time there that the thought of a girl made me want to cry.
How did the ultrasound go? Was it a 3D one?
Trill, well done on A meeting most of the 3 year old milestones. The only one that W doesn't do is that when he is climbing stairs he still puts both feet on one step before doing the next one rather than doing them stepwise (unless he is holding hands). Thank you for the sling offer, I think I am a bit smaller sized on that chart though.
Ange, thanks for all the sling info. I have tracked down a lady who makes mei tai style carriers for about $35, but if she doesn't reply soon I think I will just make one. They don't look to hard. Well done on surviving the plane trip, sometimes a well timed bag of lollies is worth its weight in gold! And clever L for the counting! Isn't it amazing what they soak up and bring out later!
Rainy, good to hear Mr J is on the mend. Thanks for the sling help too, I don't want to spend too much because I suspect that I will only use it for newborn anyway.
Clare, isn't it amazing when they have such a developmental leap in such a short time!
MD, the new drapes are making a huge difference, one entire wall in the lounge and master bedroom are glass so there was heaps of cold coming in. Now they retain some of the heat from the fireplace overnight so it isn't as cold when you get up in the morning. Although Mr Murphy struck and of course as soon as we put up the curtains/installed wall heaters etc the weather cleared and there haven't been any really really cold mornings. Oh well, at least we are all set for next year. How are you feeling?
Kate, hope that you and your DH can sort it out. We were on the verge of collapse a couple of months ago. It is so horrible. Relationships take a lot of work and it is easy to get caught up in the day to day living and not notice all the little cracks.
JaZaH, thanks for the offer of the HAB, but it is really too much. You are so kind to offer though. I will save W for H, but they will have to live over here because surely my beautiful little boy will never want to grow up and leave his mummy???
Noni, hope your DH is feeling better soon. What terrible timing! I am sure your body will wait until everything is right at home before it decides to send out the baby. Hope you get a decent rest soon.
MM, how are things going with the MIL these days? My relationship with mine has been restored quite a bit after their visit here - they seem to have realised that just because they are grandparents doesn't mean they can take over and that I will stop being the parent. It helped that they happened to see a telly report on kids behaviour/food additives and so they weren't trying to feed him crap all the time lol.
Not much happening here, DH has gone away tramping overnight and I am already bored. W has been a bit of a toad the last couple of days, he tends to have a run of tantrums every time we do something to distance me from his sleeping.
His speech is improving- he is getting better at using the correct pronouns in his sentences, as well as using the proper joiner words.
Oz - I really like Luella, I was looking at Ange's pics on FB the other day thinking what a nice name it is. & you can shorten it to Lu (like Ange does) or even Ella. I am so keen on the name Ella atm but a friend of mine just had twin girls called Madeline & Ella so it would be strange for me to have an Ella too LOL. Besides why am i thinking of names!? Holly is a gorgeous name too, but you are right you have to love it.
Ange - OMG Go Lu!!!! Thats amazing.
Arte - Well thats funny because I was always hoping for a girl & thought I would be devastated if it was a boy. My SIL was hoping for a girl, found out it was a boy & cried for a week. Now she says she couldnt imagine it any other way & she is so happy she has a beautiful little boy. So even if you have a girl you will feel the same way, girls are so much fun & it would be interesting to be able to compare for yourself the difference between boys & girls. M is right into dolls, prams, shoes, bags all the girly things its amazing. I love the names you have chosen. As for the in law situation, things have improved alot. We are back to talking, but I think its at times a little awkward. They dont stay every weekend anymore thank god. Although FIL is coming up tonight to stay as he is helping DH rip up our carpets this weekend, but I questioned why MIL isnt coming. No answer so I am assuming she is keeping her distance so she doesnt make me feel like she is over taking again. So i appreciate that but at the same time I dont mind her staying now & then as long as she doesnt take over. Ooooh thats lucky that your in laws saw the tv show lol. That helps alot. Mine still give M alot of crap, she had a sleepover a couple of wks ago but I am trying to turn a blind eye now. I figure when she's at home she doesnt get much of that stuff so a bit here and there wont hurt & they can deal with a hyper toddler if they wish! Are your in laws coming down for the birth of the new bub? Sorry have turned this into a ramble about in laws. Sorry to hear you were having relationship problems too, I guess pregnancy hormones dont help & the stress of who is going to care for W while you give birth.
PAP - Your boys are gorgeous, you must be so proud. I am proud for you!! N's curls are divine, he is such a gorgeous little boy. As for your new precious bundle, he's beautiful & I am glad things are running smoothly. Thats good that the bleeding wasnt anything bad but keep an eye on yourself. Good luck for tomorrow thats alot of guests, I hope the grandparents are helping prepare.
Noni - Poor DH hope he improves quickly. 38 weeks congratulations, I still remember your pregnancy announcement like it was yesterday.
Trill - How does the hair look because it sounds nice?
Leemar - The best part about holidays is all the shoppinggggggg!!
Rainy - How is J today, hope he is on the mend? I would expect the cough to linger for a bit.
Clare - WOW sentences, good on her!
Waiting for DH to come home from work, have given him orders to bring a big car, so he is bringing a holden captiva (good god how am I gonna park the thing) because I won a slide on ebay that I need to go pick up.
Noni: oh man, i hope DH starts to feel better soon. poor man, being so sick! congrats on 38 weeks!
Oz: have fun at the scan! i like all those names so i guess i am not much help...
PP: totally understand that you are a wee bit busy ATM LOL! just waiting for FB to load to check out the new addition...have a beautiful name day tomorrow.
Ange: woot woo! how amazing to do so much counting!
sherie: it's always a moment of trepidation after the first wash...hence i am the queen of headbands and ponytails LOL!
AFM: all good here. rang my opa and oma today. oma doesnt talk to me ATM, i guess that is okay. she feels to vulnerable and doesnt want to cry on the phone so i sorta understand. opa has been really great though and gives me the info as it comes. she has had slightly better days since her visit to the nutritionist and the counsellor, but it is all still very touch and go. i am hoping to get up there at the end of this week. hope i can...
leila did another poo-plosion today. will the child ever stop?? this time it was in a funky store in fitzroy...and it was stinky-licious. so so embarrassing. especially cause leila uses a rather LOUD voice to let us know the obvious...
well dh is home and i am exhausted!! we have no food in the house coz we usually go on a thursday night and dh was too unwell and i cant drive lol.. a friend is taking me tmw but im just sooo tired i kinda feel like its harder with him here because it just emphasises exactly how much i have to do without any help when theres another person here doing nothing.. i think im just annoyed mostly coz im huge and over it.. bit worried about baby movements but cant do anything about that either coz no one can drive me anywhere.. hope he wakes up soon and reassures me!! anyway must be off to wrangle asha she actually ran out the door and down the driveway earlier i just cant look after her atm shes being really horrible as bad as that sounds.. sorry all i can do is winge atm i promise to try and do better!!
hugs Noni - that is soooo hard... i know i found the last few weeks really hard - looking after N was v difficult and I just wanted to not be pregnant! (and he was in care 4 days a week LOL). Order takeaway tonight and relax as much as you can...
Noni - Hope hubby comes home soon. Sounds like that teamed with the baby not moving has really got you down - have you felt movement yet? Bet he's just sleeping. So easy to worry especially when feeling vulnerable with DH not being there.
Clare - I think you will feel better about things once you see your Oma in the flesh.
hey there.. its not that bubby isnt moving at all just not heaps.. i know thats normal in the last few weeks im just paranoid! its more like squirming etc too than actual kicking..
we ordered chinese last night which was good and a friend is taking us this morning to do some groceries thank god coz theres nothing in the house...
getting a cold which dosnt help.. lots of ppl around us atm have swine flue but i think really its just coz ive been sweating so much at night and then when i get up to go to the toilet and hit the cold air thats not good for me.. ash has been sneezing too tho grrrr at 38wks i sooo dont need this hahaha sorry i know all i do on here atm is winge but i just needa get it all out so i dont lose it at dh!!
Keep popping in to see if PAP has managed to find time to come on and let us know Mr J's full name!
MD, hope H had a great day and you are o.k.
MM, I don't know when the IL's will be back next. FIL is a builder and there is zippo going on building wise in their area. He has had to lay off most of his staff and there is barely enough work for himself. They were planning to come at christmas but it is all up in the air now. Baby might be quite big before they get to meet it because I am sooo not travelling 2 hours to the airport, two hour long flights with a few hours of stopover and then another hour to their house with a toddler and a bub. Glad that things have eased with your IL's. OMG I didn't realise that they stayed at your house every weekend! No wonder they were getting too much. You must have the patience of a saint to put up with that as long as you did!
Noni, you are perfectly welcome to whinge at this stage of pregnancy, I think I will be worse in a few weeks. Glad you got your shopping sorted. Hope your DH's man-sick gets better soon. Just remind him that a few itti bitti bugs can't be as bad as squeezing a whole person out your hoo-ha!
Oh hugs Noni, not long now! You have my full sympathy, I remember those last tired weeks well. Maybe since it's Sunday you can do a little ring around and organise your mum and another friend to pop in during the week to give you a hand with a few things?
Arte - you will love your bubba no matter what flavour they come out! Have you worked out a deal with DH so that you get some mumma-time for all those tramping excursions he takes?
PP - good luck with the ceremony today...looking fwd to hearing what gorgeous name you have chosen for your gorgeous boy!
Clare that's funny I was just thinking about L and where's she must be at with her talking this morning (before I read your post)...I guessed she would be onto sentences...hmmm must've heard you bragging on the psychic telephone LOL. Does she have sentences in both langs?
Ange - Clever L counting! Missy E has a go but she totally doesn't understand there's an order and just (enthusiastically) shouts out random numbers LOL. Yes I did write a non-fiction book (128 pages & glossy photos), and revised it and added a chapter last year. They wanted me to do another one in the series but I'm glad I didn't, it turned into a circus during the revision because they outsourced their editing to india, and made a mash of my correct english with incorrect and wordy text changes. I should get my A into G and write another (have zillions of ideas).
Katie I love Eloise, there are lots of pretty "El" names around, it has such a lovely soft feminineness to it, like Luella. Sorry I'm not much help with suggestions, my faves are all things like Enid, Edith and Elspeth, they have quite a different sound to the ones you like, plus a bit more old fashiondy. My other huge faves were Tabitha & Bethany...told a friend and she ran with Tabitha but then was wildly disappointed when she had a boy instead.
Trill how does your hair look now you've slept on it? BTW I meant to ask, how are things looking on the farm front this year? There's been rain over here and all the farmers are daring to feel hopeful right now.
MM - great tip for laybying for the Target sale, I'm mostly laybying for Christmas so I might go in early and save myself from crowd-germ-paranoia. Well done on getting a slide on ebay! I *love* having big outdoor things for E to play on - we didn't have much for H when she was little and it's a whole world of entertainment out there now. I want to put in a children's garden near the cubby, with lots of interesting tactile plants and stepping stones and some mosaics of some sort, some whirly gigs, chimes and I would love to have some big moss rocks of a bit of tree trunk to climb/sit on. I'm going to be busy come spring!
AFM - Been busy with family time. Feeling tired-er and toxic-er than in previous cycles. I have acne from ear to ear, my skin is falling off again, I keep finding my hair stuck to random things around the house (tube of toothpaste, front of microwave oven), and my mouth tastes and feels like a poubelle. So, yeah, real glamorous, NOT. But I look ****ter than I feel, I walked for a hour at the beach yesterday & was still able to function afterwards, didn't think I had it in me. Saw my darling naturopath on Fri and came away with an excellent book (right in my area of current investigation - cancer treatment and the chakras) and a whole new load of powders and potions and best of all she's given me a payment plan LOL. It was our wedding anniversary on friday (17 years) and most definitely the non-eventest one we've had in that entire time. I think my mojo is off wintering in the bahamas.
Awwww MD, so sorry to hear that the last one was so harsh on your body each one you have brings you on treatment closer to the end of it. And WTG on 17 years too!!!! I'm sure there will be a big celebration to make up for it when all this is behind you.
Hair is better than I thought it would be, but the layering is quite short which I'm not entirely happy with, but it wont take long to grow out again. It's still longish, but there is loads of layering. Any hair dresser I see feels the need to try to thin my hair out and make it lighter, because it's usually sooooo thick and heavy looking, but it really doesn't bother me.
And don't fret if you don't see me about this week - we have a really busy two days and then we are going away for a few days and wont be back till the weekend.
Hi girls! I'm here hoping for the announcement of PAPs J
The weekend away has helped, lots of advice from my mum and sister which is great to get my head in different spaces. We had a massive talk last weekend were we decided that if things didn't change then we wouldn't make it to the end of the year. DH actually raised the issue this time (yes, this time. We've been at this talk before) so that hopefully makes the difference this time.
I have caught up with you chatters but have nothing decent to write down that hasn't been said. Just know that I am so grateful to have you ladies here!
I can't wait to meet Leemar and JaZaH tomorrow!! Playdate with our girls will be so cute, heres hoping Sarah keeps her current 'MINE' attitude in the car
Kate, hang in there sweetie. Don't forget there are professional services available to help people make the changes they need to get through the rough patches so they can see the distance. I'm not sure we would've lasted 17 years if we hadn't done some relationship counselling very early on.
MD sorry to hear this round has been rougher then the last, your naturopath sounds brilliant though.
Kate I wish I was coming today so I could give you a big squeeze but its a little to far for me. Like MD said though dont forget there are professionals out there who can help.
Trillian lucky you going away for a few days, I am so jealous.
Noni I hope that your DH recovers and you can catch up on some rest before bubs comes along.
Leanne, Jaz and Kate have an awesome time today, I wish I was coming.
Thanks for all the name help girls. I have now decided I dont like DH's boys name lol so am off to the library for some baby name books I think.
