Noni - good luck with the ABA counsellor today. I'm sure she will be very supportive & it's a good opportunity for you to talk through how you are feeling right now. :hug:
PMSL at extramural Arte! What sort of job do you think you will aim towards? Far out at you chopping wood and carting water...r u sure you don't want to come back to the mainland? :lol: BTW cracking right up at W's singing and dancing. Missy E hated the singing/actions at kindergym a few months ago but is getting right into it. Her faves at the moment are 'row row row your boat' and 'all the fish are swimming in the water' but if I sing too much I get told to "shoosh mummy". LOL Am thinking of having family karaoke hour this weekend, I reckon we can put a Playschool CD in the playstation with the singstar microphones attached and rock out!
Trill, definitely go for the study! CSU is particularly flexxy and I think you will find there is a certain proportion of staff in the education faculty who have BTDT with studying while working &/or raising a family. Don't let this get out to all the kiddies who are straight out from high school BUT they are definitely more flexible with extensions etc for mature age students who are usually more engaged with their learning than they are with the youngies.
Ange do the staff have radiation from being exposed to PET scanning :o? Gosh I will think about that next time I'm having one and be extra thankful there are ppl happy to do that job so that ppl like me can get the benefit.
PP - sparing you a thought with your family of sickies. Not fun...it's a long hard winter when you're not well. LOL at Noah's obsession with the washing machine, you can remind him about this when he's 16 years old and complaining about his share of the housework.
BTW True confession - yesterday's healthy eating was just a rumour. A mountain of crap followed hot on the heels of the banana. I'm all stocked up for today's essay writing with 20-flavours jellybeans. :lol:

Preg- sounds good. Rainy and i were just saying yesterday we should all meet up sometime.
MD- Have you noticed that once you have been injected the staff are less friendly? :lol: One you have the injection you are emitting the radiation. It continues until about 6 half lives of the isotope. All the glass is lead lined, so when the staff are in the console they are shielded, it's just when you are standing right next to a pt. You may also notice that staff talk to you at a distance, but increasing your distance from a radiation source you greatly reduce your exposure. The doses i got when working in PET were much, much greater than my regular reading. Mainly due to the fact it uses a different sort of isotope. Without banging on (which i seem to be doing today. :p) it is a different type of radiation with a shorter half life, but you need to use higher doses than regular nuc med procedures.

bad news is aba person can only come saturday n it smy nans birthday (not to sound awful but shes quite old n hasnt met william yet n i cant really miss it..) good news is dh has noticed im struggling and is coming home soon as well as taking the next 2 days off in the hope we can make some positive steps towards sorting this all out.. aba councellor gave me some good advice n said i can rig her back any time and if im still struggling she can come the sat after..

Arte: lugging firewood is so not fun! i hope you are not made to chop it too! urgh i remember as a kid having to do it....blergh.
AFM: all good here. we have lost half our fence last night with the wind and the park opposite is trashed. there are trees down everywhere. yesterday the SES spent the day clearing debris in our street (during last weeks storm we had *issues* with branches and wheelie bins on the loose). they also came to our doors to ask us to clear our yards etc. also leila's window almost got taken out by a wood paling. pretty scary but overall our terrace is very well protected. bit worried about the back fence if we have anymore strong wind though.

Noni - bummer re this weekend, can she come when you woudl be home (or will you be at your nans the whole day?). Oh it will be lovely for your nan to meet william too! glad Dh is seeing the light and taking some time off, that will help.

MD, you need some practice at self justification! The 20 flavours of jellybeans include lots of fruit ones which are usually at least 5% fruit juice - therefore healthy!! They count towards your 5+ fruit and veges lol
Pap, I had a whinge before but removed it - should stop feeling sorry for myself, there are plenty of people out there that have it worse.
BBL, W is running around the yard and looks like he is on a mission which usually involves dog poo....

just a quickie - A is getting back to 'normal' - well what's normal for him anyway - nappies aren't as toxic so his bum is healing well. Still passing stuff he has eaten far too quickly though. I had a chat on the phone with someone from CSU and I can't do a bachelor of education part time or by distance ed unless I take the back door entry and do a undergrad arts degree first - which wouldn't be too bad because I could major in english,. The hardest part will be getting in because I have been away from study for 15yrs, and not working for nearly 10, so I will have to do a short 1 subject course or summer school to prove that I can do it etc.

Pap - she can only come at 3pm of a saturday her time is very limited as she has 2 kids at home herself and has to rely on her husband to watch them..
I rang the aba back tho and explained the situation and they gave me the number for another group reasonably close to here and it turns out they're having a meeting tmw morning.. I don't know that id go generally coz it would be 2 bus trips from here but since dh is going to be home he can drive me.. Also have an appt with the mach nurse well not really an appt they know im coming but its a drop in clinic...
Have been trying to bfeed before feeds if he's not to cranky or just generally whenever he looks like he might give it a go.. Having some success I think he's getting some coz he's taking a little less formula and still seems content.. Really need that help tmw tho because the attatchment is bad I've got quite a few cracks and things now coz we just aren't getting it right...
Sorry I've been so selfish for the last well I spose 10mths lol hopefully one day I can be a better baby buddy :(

noni dont feel you are a bad buddy - you have a lot going on atm...
the meet up tomorrow will prob be really good for you - let us know how it goes. it sounds like you are moving ahead really well alraedy so that little bit of help will set you on a good path. thecracked nipples etc will calm down, i had so much pain the first few weeks - have you been using lanisoh that did help - as did some bm on the nipples and a lot of bra/top free time. it will get easier...
sherie - wow thats a long path but sounds like it could be good... i guess the teaching wouold be like a yr add on to an arts?
girls i think Jacob has developed a flat spot on one side of his head - tips????

Ohhh Noni so worried for you, I hope you can sort out this breastfeeding and soon! Its such a shame that there is no one who can get to you sooner, its sad & obvious that breastfeeding is an area thats so under funded iykwim? What about the hospital you birthed at, they would have a lactation nurse you could see, maybe you could even go to her - such a pain I know but at least you would be getting help asap.
Trill - You will get in no problems. I'm excited for you!! I agree with PAP, the lecturers do seem to be more lenient with us mature age students. You will be suprised at how flexible most lecturers are (some arent of course). But so far I've had excellent lecturers that treat you like a normal person & they dont act like they are bigger than you iykwim.
Just ran up the shops for milk & bread, M chucked the biggest wobbly in the shops, so embarrassing. To top it off the child who we visited last week (the really well behaved one that M beat up!) came past with her parents....boy did it look bad lol. BUT I am laughing about it today!

PAP - we are going to the 10am session on the Saturday for Plop. So looking forward to it and the whole weekend up there. The only bad thing will be I won't be able to dump K and go shopping because my parents are still away!!
Clare - that is a big storm! Very windy here for the last few days but we seem to have escaped unscathed.
MD - my study lolly of choice is Jaffas. Always ended up with a little ulcer on my tongue though from all the sucking, but still totally worth it!
Re singing, DD is a definite fan, but sometimes we start singing (DH and I both have no talent whatsoever) and she just shakes her head and says no. She loves any song with actions. We had a singing session in the car the other morning and then I had to wear my IPod for 30 minutes when I got to work because I had Dr Knickerbocker going around my head!!
Well K is growing up. She has been tricky to get to sleep at kindy in the cot room with the other babies the last week (ie not wanting to wear her sleeping bag, being a bit whingy etc), so today they asked if she wanted to sleep with the big boys and girls. So she spent her first day out on one of the stretchers in the main room and went straight off to sleep. The carers think that she thought the big boys and girls didn't have to sleep because a lot of them were up again by the time she woke up from her naps.
And this morning I put her hair up in two little pigtails - she looked so grown up! Of course they only lasted 5 minutes, but it's a start. We got a book that had a man with only one boot and since we read that she has been obsessed with wearing her ugg boots. At the moment we have one with a little boy wearing a beanie and every time she reads that she has to put her beanie on. So this weekend we are going to try and find some books with little girls with pigtails and hope the obsession continues! She has a little brush but the bristles are really soft and it's not very good so we might let her pick her own brush and get some pretty hair bands (instead of the plain black ones I have).
DH and I are going to my boss' place for dinner this weekend so K is having a sleepover at Nan's. Really looking forward to the sleep in. Will have to write detailed instructions though for bed, she is really particular at the moment. Needs her sippy cup, Lavender and Winston laying each side of her, blanket over the top (including the toys), the printed bear side must be facing up!!

I feel like I have so much to do and no time to do any of it. So much on for the next few weeks. I haven't even started on bub's things lol, everything is so different second time around lol.

that storm was a bit of a non-event here. dh went out and got a pizza in the middle of it. sounds like it was really bad near you though clare.
