Hi Little Sprocket - Congratulations on Luke's birth! - how are you finding your CS recovery this time round - easier or harder than first time?

Cally, that first toe-curling pain that subsides as the feed wears on is a normal nipple sensitivity thing - it lasts for a few days/weeks but you will find it wears off (I still get it but it's shorter and shorter each feed) - it's tricky because you can't tell in those initial moments whether the attachment is right or not. I found I started to recognise the feeling of when her tongue was in the right place (it's sort of a deeper sensation) so now I try to find that feeling when she first goes on, if it's not there I take her off and try again. HTH. Good to hear you're getting by on some panadol, I think I was in much more pain than I realised at the time (couldn't really roll over in bed, go to toilet etc) - I've still got digesic for the next few days but am feeling so much better am thinking of weaning myself off them soon.

Leanne, I hear you on the waking up thing. You want Olivia to be sleeping 5 hours over night not during the day!! With DD1 I remember someone saying if you expose them to afternoon sunlight it helps reset their body clocks for sleeping at night (ie go for a walk in pram every arvo) - might be worth a try? Take it easy & don't do too much too early, ok & don't tell my husband you can vacuum three weeks after DD was born ALRIGHT!?

DH and DD1 have gone out to a working bee at school this morning - leaving me alone to make my own breakfast (!) and coordinate having a shower around E. I kid you not, these are all important signs of progress at my house and I'm feeling pretty positive about how good I'll be feeling when next weekend rolls around! However, they'll probably get home and I'll still be sitting on the couch staring at her, she gets these little windy smiles that are SOooooo gorgeous I just can't tear myself away to put her in the cradle! LOL
