Hi Beany - I'm having my 2 yearly pap smear tomorrow, I avoided it after having Amelia as I'd had one done just before getting pregnant. I had them, do you ever get used to them? I want to make sure everything's in top top shape before I even think about getting pregnant again. I'm really sorry to hear about your MIL Beany, she sounds in a bad way and your SIL is not helping at all, how selfish. If there's anything I can do to help let me know. And sorry to hear Michael's been unwell poor sweetie, interesting about the panadol comment, makes sense though. Amelia's teething again I think so I try not to give her panadol/nurofen unless I really have to, it's hard to know isn't it. xx

So girls, who's into clairvoyancy etc? I wasn't going to say but one of the girls on my November forum put me onto an online lady in canada, I got my reading yesterday and it's so interesting ha ha. She gave me a rundown on Amelia and what she will do in life etc, including when she'll marry and how many kids she'll have. Plus she told me the sex of the next baby and she gave the month as February - she said it's either when I conceive, when I find out, or when the baby is born. Given I was planning on starting April/May that puts me to Feb so we shall see how correct she is lol! I don't take it as gospel but it's definitely fun. If anyone's interested let me know and I'll FB message you her details - she does free ones, the one I had done was $15.00. She has predicted both of this other girl's pregnancies down to the month and sex. hee hee.

Oh good luck! I hate getting them too...they always seem to be painful for me Yeah, she is in a bad way...just found out she's been taken back to hospital this morning because she's so bad.

Oh gosh, I love hearing clairvoyancy stories!! Only $15? Thats v good. Does she tell you the bad stuff as well as the good? Hmm....very tempting!!

Alison - What's going on with the BB notifications do you think? I wonder if they know about it. It's such a pain to have to keep checking. Boo to the pap smear tomorrow. I hate them. I had to have an internal yesterday at the OB and it was awful. I never had one during my last pregnancy. It will be interesting to see how much of the clairvoyant's predictions come to pass...

Beany - Your SIL sounds like she's not really with the program if you know what I mean?? It must drive you all crazy with frustration. Especially when she's in the ideal position to help.

Lani - Thinking of you. You must be so mad to have been dragged into such a mess. I hope Paul cleans it up very soon!!!

BS - Have you thought about what sort of help you'll get leading up to and after the baby? Are you going to keep sending Eva to daycare full time? And are you going to get any extra house help? I don't have the support of my mum or my MIL so I'm trying to work out what to do. I'm not sure whether to try and put Matilda into daycare for a couple of days a week or get someone to come to the house who can help with both babies and the housework as well. Or a combination...This is going to be such an expensive year! Baby doctor bills, new car, overseas trip (that DH has to take - long story). Argh!

Hi Beany - a good clairvoyant shouldn't and wouldn't tell you bad things so no she doesn't. I can FB message you her details if you like? It's really interesting and as long as you don't take it too much to heart it's a bit of fun, you can always change your life path no matter what so nothing's set in concrete. Sorry to hear about your MIL having to go back into hospital, I didn't realise her time was even shorter, wishing her a peaceful time at least, if that makes sense.

Hi Tilda - how come you had to have an internal already? I had 2 with Amelia but the first one was at the dating scan and they did an internal as they couldn't get a good enough view externally and the other was at the end of the pregnancy to see where she was sitting. Is it weird being pregnant with a baby so to speak? I often think about it and it just seems strange to have a bub and be pregnant again lol....guess I'd better get used to it if I'm thinking of trying again in a few months.

Well I'm glad to get today over with, I got in early and finished late and am absolutely shattered, what a day! Why do people insist on giving you something to do half an hour before you leave that is a good 1/1.5 hour job! GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR

Tilda - I think its good that you are thinking of support for when you have the new baby. It will be money well spent I"m sure.

Alison - mmmmm....ok! Why not! If you could send me her details when you have a minute, that would be great. Eeek! I've never done anything like this before! Boo for getting in early and leaving late. I hate it when that happens, its even worse now we have little people to be home for!

AFM - since I last wrote MIL was admitted to hospital, they told us she has pneumonia. Her leukaemic cells are multiplying at a ridiculous rate. So they are torn between giving her antibiotics to get rid of the pneumonia, or give her chemo to help the leukaemia. For the moment she is getting mild chemo orally, just to try and kill off some of the leukaemic cells, and antibiotics. The next few days will be quite risky. Hopefully she pulls through it She's in so much pain, and she's really not having any moments of clarity (I went to see her this arvy), she's not making a lot of sense. Oh its so sad

Beany - I'm so sorry to hear that things have taken a turn for the worse with your MIL. I really hope they can at the very least control her pain so she is in a bit more peace. I hope the next few days aren't too harrowing for you. Let us know how you're going.

Alison - Yeah, I was a bit shocked about the internal. I think he might be a bit old-fashioned. But apparently he's a great "stitcher" when it comes to CS and given I'm probably having a CS I wanted a really good surgeon. It has been really weird being pregnant while I"m still BF another baby. It's hard to make room in your head for another one already!! But I'm just starting to feel the first flutters of excitement. It's just taking a bit longer this time because I know what I'm in for LOL. DH was saying a little while ago how excited he was and all I could say was "yeah, I can't wait for cracked nipples and sleepless nights, not to mention major abdominal surgery!".

    Hi everyone else!

AFUS - I still haven't dropped another feed. I'm starting to feel sad about weaning which has surprised me. I didn't think it would bother me. And sorry to be graphic but we're gettting really yukky pasty nappies again. I'm wondering if it's eggs. Does anyone else have a similar issue?

Hi Beany - I'm so sorry about MIL, keep me posted with how she's doing, I hope she pulls through xx Off for my pap smear this morning, that is if AF doesn't hit me first, I just realised I'm due and I've woken with cramps, that would be right, I just want it over with now so I don't want to have to postpone last minute!

Hi Tilda - you didn't have a c/s with Matilda did you or did I just forget? I can't remember how bad is that! Even if you did would you not consider a VBAC? I'm hoping I can next time, I'd really like to avoid the c/s if I can but depends, I will do whatever is safest for the baby at the time.

    Hi girls

beany - I'm so sorry that your MIL's health is declining I hate cancer so, so much. It's so horrible watching people struggle with it. And poor Michael! Hope he's feeling better.

beany and Alison - we have to catch up soon! Maybe when the weather cools down a little we can meet up at a park or something?

Tilda - are you planning on trying to feed Tilda through the pregnancy or are you trying to wean her completely? I think you probably mentioned on the last thread, but my memory is shot right now.

Alison - I'd be interested in that clairvoyant's details if you want to message me on FB.

Thank you again for all of your comments and well wishes - it really means a lot. Things are getting easier, though it's never going to be "okay". But Dad got to have a last Xmas with everyone and he got to die at home and on his own terms. I just mostly feel for Liam and his cousin, since they're never going to get to know their amazing grandfather. And Liam's cousin actually has no living grandfathers at all now, since my SIL's father passed away some years back

Things seem to be improving slightly with Liam's sleep. He's settling down a bit easier, and has been napping easier, too. He's been back to two naps yesterday and today, too, so maybe he still needs that morning nap. Like Alison said earlier in the thread, it's just easier to go with the flow with things right now.

He's definitely getting more mobile now, and is happier for it. He's walking more and more and has gone back to being happier to play independently more now, which is awesome. I love playing with him, but I do need to do things occasionally!

Hi Rose - I'm glad at least your dad got to pass on his own terms and home too, if there's any consolation to the whole thing that would be it. It is sad for Liam etc., my grandfather on my mum's side died before I was even born and my dad's dad died when I was 6 so I don't really remember much about having a grandfather myself. He will be watching over them though and they'll meet one day. xx Meeting at a park sounds nice, isn't there one at the end of your street? I will FB you the clairvoyants details now Are you noticing with Liam walking he's sleeping better at night? Since walking Amelia has been doing 7-7 (sometimes a little later) without so much as a sound, I hope she keeps that up! She is on the go ALL day though and working from home is getting harder and harder! ha ha

Hey BS - did you see my latest pics on FB? Recognise the Hello Kitty top Amelia's wearing? hee hee Hope your bubba's are doing well. xx

Oh Lani, I have not been on in ages, I am sorry not to have responded sooneR. Are you doing a bit better now? I have been in your situation before albeit without a child, which makes it worse...but it will get better, and you and Jett will be ok no matter what you decide to do in the end. Just focus on yorself and Jett and staying rested and away from drama. I am here as well, so send me a FB message or a PM if you ever feel the need.

Rose, Eva has been sleeping really badly too. I think she is teething but since she started trying to walk she has been having nightmares or something, whimpering in her sleep, and just being agitated at night in general? She goes down fine but does not stay down...This stuff goes in phases doesn't it. It is exhausting. Maybe he also feels the stress with your dad's passing? He is very connected to you and can probably feel that you are sad...I hope it all smooths out soon.

Tilda, Eva warms up to people slowly to but she never gets clingy or anything with anyone other than me, DH and MIL or her uncles...She really has to know people to want to go into their arms...I know she is fine. And no matter what she is perfect the way she is. I was just always pretty solid as far as that stuff goes, like I was different but it never bothered me too much, so I just hope she is not overly sensitive (DH was more of a sensitive child)...I think it is just a protective thing - and I know she will be ok...I just wonder sometimes since I have nothing to compare to. Don't feel bad about not being excited. I know you stress about your back and all that too...I admit I am stressed because of Eva's reflux and my hormonal issues, and sometimes I say to myself, is it possible to function on less sleep than now? But then again I am so happy to be doing this back to back and then get on with life. I like being pregnant, but this pregnancy is not sitting as well with me as Eva's did...I am not sure if it is winter or the fact that I got sick twice or the fact that I am running after one already...but in the long run, I look at it as a challenging first year or two after the baby is born but much nicer later. I think it is hard to imaginbe another one too. I can't imagine another baby in my life - DH and I are so full of love for Eva that I can't see taking an ounce of it away, but I know that your heart gets bigger with the next...I've had plently of mothers confirm it already I think in any case it is a stressful thing to worry about the next and you will def get more excited when you start feeling kicks (I just started feeling flutters this week!!!! and I can tell you, it makes it all the more exciting)...I keep saying that Eva still is not out of her teething and next year I will have two waking each other up, but I don't care, I prefer to have the baby period flow, then enjoy bigger children (unless we go for a third!..lol) and getting my body and career back on track slowly... Will you have to do a CS? is it because of your back?

As for help after baby 2 - after giving birth (luckily in the summer this time) I plan to go spend the whole summer in the mountains with the ILs and DH's famlily and anyone from my family or friends that wants to visit. I'll take it easy and Eva will enjoy the nature and the pool and the yard and sunlight and fresh air - heaven! etc...I had her in in a month of snowstorms so going out for a walk was nearly impossible and being cooped up killed me! Then I will be coming back and Eva will go back to daycare in September and baby #2 will prob go in around 5/6 months, like I did with Eva...I found the daycare experince great for her (and for me - even a few hours a day to myself makes a huge difference in my productivity), even though she was often sick, but I like the rythm and the socializing etc...So around november I guess, I will be puitting #2 in the same daycare as Eva...Then getting back into work, prob part time for a while since babies get sick a lot at first, when starting DC for #2.

As for help with the cleaning, I have always had it, and will keep that - there is no way for me to deal with baby/job and have clean house (I do not like to clean but I do when I have to because I am obsessed with clean house). Our apt is pretty big and I hate mess, so it gets me angry when it is not in order, so for my sanity and DH's I have a housekeeper for the past few years...one of my little luxuries...Except I handle everything baby related (laundry, dishes, and cleaning - I'm crazy as far as that goes)...I don't necessarily like the idea of a nanny in my home or someone taking care of my children in my home, I prefer them to go out and have people take care of them and that home stay for their family...It is a wierd thing that irks me but I am not sure why...New Yorkers get nannies and I have heard too many stories about the mothers who work a lot having their kids prefer their nanny. I don't want any mommy confusion in my house. I am a control freak This of course is my opnion on things but I think every family has a different solution that works for them and their children.

Hey Alison, I am not necessarily hiding it but am not putting it on facebook I did not post anything on FB with Eva until she was born...I have a lot of acquaintances on there that I don't mind not telling for now. So no mention on FB but we have announced to everyone, and honey, if you see my belly, it is obvious. There is a round lump front and center that does not look like a big lunch It is funny your pap smears are every two years in Europe and the US it is every 6 months! I don't find it pleasant but it never bothered me that much since I used to go do them twice a year, or so...I would hate to have one done too often...I thought twice a year was little and you guys only have them every 2 years, now that makes me hate them more since I get them more often

Beany, Eva has small fits too, but nothing too crazy. She seems to want to talk and gets frustrated when I don't understand. She gibbers to me all day and has really expanded her rertoire of sounds, and ads words to her vocabulary daily - she does not pronounce things super well yet, but I understand her...she has learned gato (gateau in french is cookie or cake - of course she learned that! - but she says is more like catoo...it is super cute. You should try putting fun toys on the table and seeing if michael will walk over to stuff from you - keep making the distance longer. DH and I practice with Eva every night, going further and further apart. She still walks like a drunk person, so we are encouraging her to walk between us. She walks on her own and wants us to walk with her all over the place holding her by the hand, but when she ventures out on her own she falls at some point. She is def not running around like Amelia yet As for MIL, I am so sorry. I don't get what is going on with SIL, have you guys sat her down for a talk? Maybe Dh should have a serious talk with her, since it is their mother. She might not have much time and SIL might be in denial or something, so maybe he should bring her back down to earth...

AF Us, Eva seems to be teething again - her sleep is awful and I got a call from DC to come pick her up so it is looking like a nother week at home sick for us...I'll keep you guys posted - she's up so have to go!

Hi to everyone else - no time to finish!

ARGH I haven't been getting notifications. What is going on??? I have missed heaps.

My parents returned on Tuesday night and are still in shock my mum is very upset and my dad hasn't said anything he is very silent which is very unusual for my dad.
This weekend I am planning to move all of Jett's furniture and alot more of my clothes to my parents house. I am planning to stay there for a while. I am still very emotional and a part of me still doesn't believe it I don't think. I am trying to get into a Psychologist, who is currently on leave and returns next week.

Beany thinking of you and MIL, I hope things improve for her. Big hugs xoxox

Thanks for all your support girls, it means alot to me.

Since all of this has happened Jett's sleeping had made a turn for the worse, we were going great and now I am really struggling to get him down for a sleep. Once I get him down he sleeps well, we are getting a wake up during the night though. By the sounds of it a few of us are having sleep issues so it could be an age thing. I hope so.

I have Jett's appointment with the Professor this afternoon for his allergies, to see if anything has changed.

I am at work so must go and get some work done.

Hope everyone is doing well xoxox

Lani sweets - my heart breaks for you, I still can't believe a husband/father of your child could do such a thing at this point in your marriage. I hope it's ok to say but I hate him for doing this to you. Your dad would be feeling so mad, that's why he's quiet, some men, especially that generation struggle to show emotion, but the fact he's quiet shows how angry he must be. My mum wanted to kill my ex when he did the same, she literally wanted to at one point, I have to admit I was willing to join her. There is no consolation in any of this at present but as time passes the hurt will lessen and he will get his own back, I promise you - it took 7 years for me to get mine with my ex and his skank divorcing (oh guess what, she cheated on him) and he's now a 39 year old loney guy. Apparently when he heard I was pregnant he was quite sombre, well GOOD!!!!!!!!! Ahole deserves to be miserable his whole life if you ask me! Definitely see someone, I had counselling and even did a 6 week program once a week for people who had suffered a relationship loss, I thought it was silly a 30 year old turning up for something like that when I wasn't even married but there were all types there, men and women, married and unmarried, with kids and no kids and it really helped me a lot. I've been thinking of you a lot and please know that I'm here if you need to talk as I've said all along. Don't worry about Jett's sleeping, it's just a phase and he might be sensing some of your hurt and disruption, they bounce back quickly so he will be fine again soon. He's very lucky to have you. So is Paul trying his hardest to win you back? I'm really proud of you for being so strong, most would cave and go back and if that's what you want then you do it, you may find as time goes on you are able to forgive him and move on, some it helps change for the better, some it just doesn't work. I personally am like you and feel without trust there is no relationship. But don't close the door completely yet, you just never know.

Love you lots and hoping things get much easier for you very soon.

    xx

Just a quick one...MIL passed away this morning. She fought right to the very end, lasting a whole 24 hours more than the doctors thought. She is finally at peace, and no longer in pain. xxx
