Anyone else in the same boat or have an suggestions to help?

Finally back with my birth story :-)

We arrived at the hosp at 7am and I was hooked up to the ctg monitor. I'm classed as high risk as I had my first via csect. My obs decided that she could try and break the membranes and see what happens. So about 8 am she did so and said shed be back at 12...

At 12 I was still only 2cm which I was at my appointment the Tuesday before. I was starting to stress it wasn't going to happen and I'd be having a csect. Then the contractions started getting worse all in my back. But they were very irregular.

She came back at 4 after things started ramping up about 3:30 I was in a lot of back pain which I didn't have with jaydon. So far I'd got through just on gas from bout 2:30 and decided I'd ask for some morphine. When she checked I was about 5cm so she said shed prefer if I could breath through as it can back off the contractions. She thought shed go check how quick I progressed with jaydon and decided to wait around as he was reasonably quick. 10 mins later they were calling her back into the room and trying to set up.... Within 45 mins of her checking and being 5cm I had delivered our little (or not so little) nearly 9lb girl.

I had an episiotomy in the end due to my scaring from last birth but all in all it went well.

I will be back later with persies

No, haven't eaten anything different as I've been really careful with food.

He tends to have a really good feed, then next feed not so great with 5mins here and there...

Hi all, holly and I would love to join too.
Holly was born on 13th via section but with a lotus birth ( cord left attached to placenta and bub to recovery where a proud mummy cut the cord). We've had some struggles feeding but she really is a dream.
I have a houseful of people ATM so internet time is limited and sporadic, but just wanted to pop my head in.

    Hello Kim!!

Is anyone establishing a night time sleep schedule yet? Violet is still waking every 3 hours
Night schedule?? Not here, Arabelle wakes randomly at the moment. Some nights its every 2hrs, then its 3hrs, and other nights we've got 6hrs from her. The only kind of routine we seem to be getting into is after her 2am to 4am feed (whenever that happens) she comes and snuggles in bed. Normally for no other reason than I want to cuddle her.

Have noticed that she gets terrible wind if I eat chocolate! Which kind of sucks cause Im in need of the sugar hits at the moment! but will be good for the waistline

Im 4 days into DH going back to work for the first time since Arabelle was born. And its been a long 5 days so far. The two big girls have colds, they are out of routine and still on their highs since finally getting their big sister. Im so tired. Arabelle is easy, but DD2 is having separation issues with DH, so she wont go to bed, or nap during the day, and she isnt liking her own bed either, so is sleeping in with us every night and having night terrors. DD1 on the otherhand is using me being tired to get away with as much as possible. Suppose it doesnt help that they havent gone anywhere since Dh went back to work, with being sick and all. Not to mention Im not quite ready to be left alone with all 3 in public. Im so worried that one will run off, or more likely I will forget one of them and leave them behind!

He is feeding every 3-4 hours, and maybe once a day only two hours. There is no night routines here other than I feed him in the rocking chair in dimmed lighting, but then he falls asleep quickly and doesn't feed well. Can't win lol!

Dumb question by a FTM... How and when will he start to sleep longer? I know all babies are different, I'm just curious.

Shan, there's no set rule in longer sleeping.... Maiya was 8 weeks and she was all night. Jaydon was 2 before he slept all night.... They are all different

We seem to be the same here as well. Yesterday I felt like I fed all day, yet today he is much more settled. Can't put it down to anything here either... Still feeding every 3-4 hours.

Hi everyone! I hope you dont mind me joining in here as my little Emily was born on the 20th, but she WAS due on the 8th. We are still in hospy at the moment and probably will be until at least Friday, which is fine with me.

I don't have any time now to say.much, other than, YAY, we made it! And to wish you all congratulations on the births of your precious new bubs. Will post more about the birth later xxx

Glad everybody is going well. It's exciting we've moved from 'Belly Buddies' to 'Baby Buddies'!

Our little Cameron is going well. The last three nights he's slept 5-6 hours in one session, which is fantastic. He then feeds, settles after an hour and a half and usually sleeps another 3 hours. Today has been a great day with him but the last few he has been super cranky! A lot of crying and constantly wanting to feed! Perhaps it's a growth spurt? Apparently they go through one at about 2 weeks and can be more grizzly and needy. He is also becoming a LOT more alert and looking around, taking in his environment. He's strong too! When he's on his tummy he can lift his head and look around and turn it to the side.

I'm definitely feeling the lack of sleep catching up with me. Everything is such a learning curve and it's so much more intense when you're exhausted too. I can't get over how little I get done in a day. Cameron is so clingy and rarely will be put down - he just wants to be held - so often a load of dishes is as much as I get done around the house. I'm looking forward to him becoming a little more independent and be happy to lie on his play mat or relax in his swing. I'm sure we'll get there!

I'm so happy for us all to have our little bundles of joy in our arms.

Phe - I hope you're recovering after little Miss Emily's arrival! I'm looking forward to hearing about her arrival - what a long weekend that must've been for you.
Mummzy & ShanD - sounds like Cameron is like your bubs - can be pretty fussy for no apparent reason!
Welcome Kim & Beansbeans, I look forward to getting to know you both
The Mrs - How's your little princess going? Is she sleeping in longer bursts?

    Take care everyone!
    Carly
