I think DD may have a touch of reflux actually- had a great day but then had a feed an hour ago and spilled up a lot so I burped her and offered the other side but she fussed and kept pulling off, whimpering, and trying to drink more then when she came off she spilled a little more milk and then threw a major tantrum abs was screaming and wriggling around. Does that sound like reflux or just some wind?

All my babies have done that at times. Darcy had reflux but she also did the full on back arching screaming like you're pulling out their toenails in pan. She never chucked. She had to be upright - always.
Holly seems to do it when she's really tired. She just can't get all the required actions together.

If you're worried though do you have a supportive MCHN to run it by?

Yes. I might do that- one of my mothers groups is facilitated by a community health nurse.

yeah sometimes between 6 and 8 weeks. It used to be 8wks, but now most drs do it at their 6wk check so you dont have to come back.

Ok great. PS DD is smiling heaps now! She had a few real (not wind) smiles at about 4 weeks but at 5 weeks she started giving her mama ecstatic smiles all the time. What a joy they are!

I'm another who has been absent, sorry! i do get on the facebook group we had set up as belly buddies sometimes cos i find facebook easier to work on my phone.

*The_Mrs.* - hope you and your little family are doing well. Glad to hear all is well with Violet and she is no longer on reflux medication. Hope you figure something out for birth control. I don't know what to do either. We would use just condoms but that's how we ended up with DD1 and they get expensive haha everyone is saying DP should have a vasectomy but the thought of him doing something so permanent scares me.

beansbeans! - wow that's huge growths in both weight and length/height! Go Miss A! hope she wasn't too bad after her vax

Ladylove - don't their little smiles just melt your heart! I love it and i finally got a first smile, Daddy got the other 2 and i cried both times haha so don't know if he got smiles and just didn't tell me this time lol

~Kim~ - DD1 was a belly sleeper and honestly would not settle on her back so we slept her on her belly of day time if she was near us and on her side with a sleep positioner at night.

rai - hi hope all is well

Hope those of you with non sleepers are finding ways to catch up on sleep. Miss E sleeps fine its DD1 & 2 that are the problems just lately. In the last 3 weeks they have started waiting up for daddy who doesn't get home from work until 10:30-12:30am depending on the night and by the time he gets home they are overtired and FERAL earliest i have been to bed in that time is 1:30am so over it!

Miss E had her checkup & needles today. She is now 4640g (which is so tiny to me! She still hasn't quite made it to DD2's birth weight! Missed it by 15g haha) and 56.5cm with a head circumference of 39.4 so still my tiny bubby the needles aren't agreeing with her she's vomiting and has a temperature of 37.7
She is already becoming a real little daddy's girl so cute she just sits with him and looks at him for ages smiling and making cutesy noises. Makes me even sadder that he's going away in 4weeks...

Just a heads up that over the next couple of weeks we will be merging the belly/baby buddies groups. Instead of 2 groups for each month there will only be one. We hope you enjoy getting to know more members through your larger groups. If you have any questions, comments or concerns please feel free to contact a member of the moderating team.

saw this pop up so thought I might give an update. Miss A is growing well still. Shes had her first cold this week and that was definately scary, for her and for me! At times she had trouble catching her breath and she sounded like she was having an asthma attack. She couldnt feed properly and sleep only happened when there was absolutel silence and she was in my arms. It wasnt a nice cold thats for sure.
Today she is looking much better, still a little bit under the weather, but heres hoping tomorrow she is totally better.

We've mastered the art of chatting though, not really interested in rolling though.

    Not much else really.

Hope everyone else is doing well

Oh Beans I'd be too afraid to fall asleep at night if H onor had a cold in case something happened. I dread the day she gets her first cold!

Hello to all the other lovely February mummies

LysnDan - hey i often think of you and your gorgeous little girl, miss reading your posts. Hope you and your little family are doing well.

beansbeans! - it's horrible when they are sick and there's nothing you can really do. Miss E had her first cold before she was even 2 weeks old thanks to inconsiderate family members visiting while sick Hope Miss A is all better now.

hi Ladylove how are you and your little miss?

We are doing ok, Miss E is a fairly "good baby" it's still the older 2 i'm having trouble with and with only 3 weeks until DP goes away i'm starting to panic about how i'm going to cope without him

Hope everyone is well it's very quiet in here all the babies are keeping us busy

Hi Blix! H onoris good. She is 8 and a bit weeks now ... I think I finally started to feel comfortable and relaxed about new motherhood around 5-6 weeks so it took me a while. I think I definitely had baby blues for almost that long. Now we have a good pattern, except she still catnaps in the day between 40-60 minutes per sleep. But I've just decided to go with it rather than trying to make her sleep longer as that's pretty much impossible anyway as she's always wide awake when she does wake up. At night she only wakes once normally- yay! Usually about 2-3am but she has done a few marathon sleeps, not waking up until 4:30-5am. I put her down around 7pm and she wakes up 6-6:30.

She is starting to 'talk' more- lots of gurgles and smiles. And she laughs in her sleep even though I've not once heard her laugh when she's awake! It's like subconsciously she knows how to laugh but she can't consciously do it.

Aww the subconscious laughing sounds cute, babies are so funny. Glad you are feeling more comfortable and relaxed. Sometimes it is just best to go with the flow as long as it works for you
