Good job Rose!! Only 250g for us this week. They were happy with that but in comparison to your numbers it's not great. DS doesn't feed as often though.

I'm sticking with expressing & bottle feeding for night feeds, it's so much quicker and he sleeps longer so I know he's getting a full feed and I'm getting more sleep. It's worked the last 2 nights. We just have to do what works to get us through...

Hi! I finally made it here! My little girl was born Sunday night at home into water. She has been pretty sleepy since birth, which i'm finding quite strange, but was a little more awake today. I'm not sure if she is feeding enough, or efficiently, but she has had quite a few poos. Not definite that she has wee ed, but there was probably one mixed in with a poo.

Faye that's a great gain, I think the MCHN said they look for about 100g a week, so that's still more than double the average!

    Woohoo welcome Hotl!

rose is right, anything over 100g is great. and smaller weight gain weeks can be perfectly fine too.

We're here! 14 days over but am sure she'd still be cooking if she had her way. It took a lot of effort to get her out. Totally in love & grateful that I have been able to expand my family. Will write more details in the next day or two.

    Yay TT! Welcome cmon starry!

Aleksander is 1 week old today and is already 100g above birth weight. Milk is well and truly in and he feeds like a trooper. He's a very placid baby. Especially compared to DS1 at the same age! I'm also a Hell of a lot more confident!

    Great job candy!

Lol Hotl, after EVERY bath, ds either pee's or poos in the towel.. I think it's because he must love baths so much, he wants to go back in after I've taken him out. Lol.

Sore boobs here too... Because ds has been sleeping in 5 hour stretches at night instead of 2.5!! Woohoo! We are definitely going to continue bed sharing. This is amazing

Ladies, I need to have a tooth fixed that I broke during labour. Yup, bit down so hard that I broke the back out of my own tooth!

My question is: is it safe to have dental work, with local anesthesia, while feeding?

And add to this, off to the doc with bub tomorrow. His belly button keeps bleeding whenever he tenses his little tummy. While it's only oozing, it's consistent, and worrying me.

Re: Babies Born ~ February 2014

Candee: I have had terrible teeth issues. Ds first outing was to an after hours dentist at 10 days old. Anyway, I am breastfeeding and have had two lots of local anaesthetic and a general anaesthetic for a tooth extraction. I have lots more dental work to go to.

I rang monash medical drug info line and it's all perfectly safe while breastfeeding. The local anaesthetic didn't impact baby at all. The general made him a bit more sleepy which was good because I needed to recover.

I hope you get yours sorted quickly. I'm still eating mushy foods and having pain at the op site. I need to get a root canal and bridge and crown done too. It's so annoying. Pregnancy really takes it out of my teeth it seems!

Thanks girls. Faye - I spent a lot of time during my labor apologising for verbalizing my pain, and then when I bit down trying to stifle...... I also apologized during labor to DP for throwing up, and then for bleeding post placenta.... Lol.

Arcadia - yup, my teeth seem to have taken a hiding. I have a dental phobia, so I'm not looking forward to this at all. I'd pick childbirth all over again

Re: Babies Born ~ February 2014

How's everyone going? Our check went smoothly. Doc isn't worried about his belly button at all. They took a swab to test just to put my mind at rest.

Weighed him and he's put on 130g in 6 days. So he's now 230g above birth weight in 12 days plus I am now 6 days further along in breast feeding than last time. I'm giving myself a hi 5 for that!
