Hey girls- just a short one, things here are a little dramatic as baby Katherine has decided to be a little freaky and start teething at 2 months old! I always knew she was advanced but this is not the kind of advanced I was hoping for!!!

Poor baby- grumpy!!!!! And poor Mummy is VERY tired!!!!!

Glenny, has she got any teeth yet? Hopefully it won't drag on for you, but DS2 started teething at 4 months and got his first tooth at 7 months! Drove us all crazy!

Hi girls! I got a new nephew last night!!!! My sister gave birth to a gorgeous baby boy. I'm so proud of her, she did it without an epidural, which she wasn't sure she could do, but really wanted to after having her daughter with one a couple of years ago. We went to visit him this morning and Josh looks HUGE next to him already!!!! They are just over a month apart in age, they are going to be good mates

I did the trip to the hospital with all three boys by myself - thank God mum was there to help me once I got there. Wrangling three boys under four in a hospital is not an easy task!!!

poor little mite has scored a cold and is far from impressed about it!

i went and invested in a vaporiser today and some chest rub ( em, tegam chemist said its ok to use euky rub) so im mixing that with her moisturiser and putting it on her chest, in the hope it clesrs up her snot really quick!
we have been using the aspirator and are getting out loads of gunk, the poor thing....

thankfully she has still been sleeping well so hopefully it doesnt affect that, just when she is sleeping through!

might have more time to catch up tomorrow!

Oh Gleny's im with you on this one i swear K has been teething since we bought him home from hospital ive had many many sleepless nights due to him screaming until i went with mummy instinct and bought some brauer teething relief and argh relief
We stuck Kaidyns dummy in the freezer and he went hell for leather on it and right there and then i knew he was teething, he chews my finger and also my nipple (Ouch that hurts)

Just a quick one - off to playgroup this morning - had 3 good nights in a row with just 2 feeds between 7pm and 7am (finally!) - David was even smiling as he went down for his morning nap - unbelievable! I'm coping very well with sleep when he only has those 2 feeds - I usually head to bed at 9pm so I'm able to get 8 hours total sleep. Hoping he has at least 45 mins now, then he'll probably nod off in the car on the way home - a bit of a long stretch between sleeps if he doesn't have one while we're out. Fortunately there'll be plenty of people who'll give him cuddles at playgroup!

Update on the house - painting is underway - the guys got the sealer put on during the wkend, now for the paint! Quotes for security screens being done this week, tiles are being done the last week of Feb, then air-con, then carpet. Should be able to move in the first half of March - can't wait! DS is really outgrowing the bassinet now, but I don't want to make the transition to the cot until we've moved otherwise it's lots of changes for him (the bassinet and cot are in different rooms at this place). Less than a month to go!

Jen: Wow the house is coming along nicely!

My baby is 7 weeks tomorrow, wow, time to think about number 5

Molly is getting herself into a nice litte place, i cant say routeen as there is none for her poor chicken being pulled from bed all day everyday for the othe 3 kids activities but she is coping really well. This morning was my first morning of having the 4 kids and myself ready and out the door at 7.15am.....Grace got selected for the school choir so it meets before school.....ahhh On the plus side i had a great walk killing time until Evie was due at kindy at 9am...after yesterdays walk my legs are killing me but in a good way. I have lost 3kgs in the past 2weeks.

DH home tonight for one night then away again and his sisters are coming for a visit from NSW on the weekend, So i hope they arent too much work for me. But then DH is home for 6days YAY!

Better go and get some housework done

i got euky rub but she got a rash from it and i was mixing it with her moisturiser sensitive skin baby here we come!

my nephew is due in 2 weeks but could be here as early as this weekend depending on what happens at their appt tomorrow.

Yay! False alarm!! went to baby doc today as I wasn't 100% convinced on the teething thing although she's been showing ALL the signs!! Doc looked at her gums and said not teething but reflux! Apparently you can have reflux without being sick or spitting up. Red gums and drool is from the acid and chewing, liking cold stuff is because her gums are irritated. She also has a tough of thrush on her tongue which is a sure fire sign of reflux apparently! So I m a happy mummy now as there is something I can do to help her. He has given me some Zantac syrup and he reckons she should start to come good in a couple of days.

Had a good morning at playgroup - DS is fighting sleep atm, but big gaps where he's quiet, so here's hoping he drops off soon. Quiet day for the rest of it, just a trip down to local shops this arvo for a few bits and pieces.

AFU, Malaila is growing up way to fast! I'm loving her smiles makes me so happy I start crying. Poor thing has been dragged out the last couple of days but she's had a couple of good nights- oh and by a good night I mean she only woke up every 1-2hrs Instead of being awake the whole time. Today when we were out I was breastfeeding her in Gloria Jeans and this little girl comes up and watched intently. she was so facinated by me breastfeeding- I told her the baby was having a drink and she asked to have one too She kept patting her on the head- which I was slightly annoyed about because of germs etc, but she's was only about 2 or 3 so didn't know any better and I didn't want to yell at her. I just told her to be gentle. Oh and then Malaila spews right on my crotch! yeah great place for spew to be in public, it looked like I wet myself!

Oh girls, must have been the night for it! Josh is usually a fantastic sleeper, but last night he was really unsettled. He still only got up the once, but it was for two hours and when he was asleep, he grunted and groaned, keeping ME awake! Oh well, I've survived on three hours' broken sleep before, I'm sure I can do it again!

Tegam, #5?!?!! Actually, I know what you mean. As much as I don't like being pregnant and as much as Josh's big head and two hours' of pushing is still clear in my mind, I would love a fourth. The finances are what's stopping me - oh and DH! He's talking about having the snip, but I'm really reluctant about having him do something permanent...

Em, Josh's smiles make me cry too!

Jen, the house sounds like it's coming along nicely. I hope David lasts in his bassinette until you're ready to move.

Crumpet, yay on getting a new nephew! I'm off to visit my sis and her little man again today. The boys just adore babies at the moment - a little too much at times!

Glenny, glad you found a solution to Katherine's problems. Hopefully the Zantac will kick in soon.

Miz, the end of March will be here before we know it - please don't rush it too much! It's a shame you live far away from your sis, the boys would have a great time playing when they get older.

Us: Well, last night wasn't the best, but an odd bad night here and there won't kill us. Josh is still a million times better than DS2 was at this stage so I'm not complaining. I'm managing alright with the school runs twice a day still, although we were late on Monday as we all slept until 8am! I guess we had a bigger weekend than I thought.

Josh is having a growth spurt. I weighed him on the Wii on Monday, when he was five weeks old and he weighed in at nearly 5.5kgs! That means almost 2kgs since birth. Far out, he is chunking up just as quickly as his brothers, despite me telling him to stay little And all this was BEFORE his growth spurt! He's now outgrowing 000 jumpsuits although some 000 and 0000's still fit him so that keeps me happy.

His big brothers absolutely ADORE him, to the point where they argue over whose turn it is to hold him. We've been surprised at how little DS2 has been jealous. Just a couple of times he has told me to put Josh down somewhere when he wanted a cuddle - that's it! Very happy about that.

Alright, gotta run and start getting the boys ready for the afternoon out. It still takes about half a day to get out the door and buckle all of them into their seats.

Can I have some advice please girls? Katherine's routine (if you can call it that- it's always been pretty flexible) has been disrupted since the grandparents arrived from Scotland (12 days til they go home- yay!). Before they came I never really worried about how long Katherine was sleeping during the day. But now, with the disruptions and the reflux, her night sleeping has completely gone to poo! We were getting 2 good 5 hour blocks from her, down at 8, fed at 1 and then up at 6. It was BRILLIANT!!!! The last couple of nights, the poor dab hasn't slept much at all.
Now- the question is, am I making things worse by letting her sleep lots during the day? Usually she's good with the feed, play, sleep thing and often would stay awake between feeds. But the last couple of days, she's so shattered after bad nights that she is asleep most of the morning and early afternoon. just waking for feeds. I've been told I should enforce the play time and also not let her sleep longer than 2 hours during the day so she does long stretches at night. But I feel bad when she hasn't slept the night before. Also, while the meds haven't fully kicked in I would love her to sleep whenever she will.
So- my plan is to let her sleep as long and as often as she likes until about 2-3 and then try and get some proper play time in the hopes that she'll sleep tonight. Is that a dumb idea? Should I be getting her up after 2 hours and trying to force her awake for an hour or so every feed?
I kinda think stuff the routine while she's not well, I'll wait until the zantac kicks in (been told about 3-4 days I should notice a big difference) and then start again trying to enforce routine. Am I shooting myself in the foot?

let her sleep glenny and sleep when she sleeps if you wake her she'll just get overtired and cranky. She'll get back to sleeping more at night.

Disgirl: he's growing out of 000? oh he is growing fast! Malaila is still mostly in 0000, but has grown out of some and i squeeze her into others-i'm not reasy to let the 0000 go yet lol

Glenny, I'd let her sleep. I've never been one for routines and have always taken their sleeps whenever they'll have them!

Em, Yep, only in the jumpsuits though. He's wearing a 000 outfit today and it's a tiny bit big on him, but not so it looks funny. My 000 days are numbered
