Hi Fellow Belly Buddies

J and I are doing well, he is so very alert and smiling heaps. I am worried after today I wont be wearing him all the time.. He was in the wrap and nearly injured himself looking around lol.. Such an inquisitive little babe..

We went to a prem playgroup on Tuesday, it was ok, I'll go a couple more times and see. I would like to build friendships.. The playgroup is on fortnightly so on the off week I am going to go to the ABA group. First one will be this Tuesday.. I am looking forward to some of the topics they discuss.. Not this group but the next one they discuss 'Overcoming breastfeeding challenges' I need that!! I love breastfeeding but all the worry of 'Is he getting enough' etc.. He has had weight gain issues so he is having EBM top ups. I have a stash, but it means I'm still pumping 3 - 4 times a day... So over it! But I'm still doing it, yay me! 6 months today

J weighs 4390gms and is 56cms long so still NB size. So many people comment when we are out. "Oh look at the newborn" I just smile and pray they don't ask further questions!

J is doing so well, I love being a Mum, he sleeps well, we co sleep and my favourite time is when we go to bed I lay down and feed him and he just looks up and gives me booby smiles.. I think he's starting to teeth, lots of dribbles and chewing.. I wonder if he'll sleep so well when that really starts lol..

I feel exhausted though the last couple of days.. I hope I'm not getting sick! Maybe it's just all slowly catching up with me. It's started to hit me that I am a single parent, so I'm starting to deal with all that now too. I was too busy to let it affect me before. I'm totally ok though, I know it's for the best, I miss him cooking me dinner though! I have hardly cooked at all, I need to eat better. I have ordered some frozen meals from some catering company..

Anyway, My lil precious is asleep next to me on the lounge, I'll have to wake him and give him a feed soon so I can get some sleep!

BAL - Happy 6 months to Jett! And well done to you for persisting with expressing all that time. I guess everything the two of you have been through was bound to catch up with you eventually. Just remember to be kind to yourself. You are doing great!

Jellyfish - Wow she is growing well. Is her dad tall? Or do you just have supermilk?

Jennifer - I saw the pic of at work with DD sleeping on your back. She looked so comfy. How do you get her up so high? I keep trying with DD2 but my arms aren't flexible enough to get a good seat if she's up high. I expect it will get easier as she grows.

HotI - My 2 year old is driving me crazy at the moment too. I'm starting to get some motivation and energy again so am starting to organise more activities and outings which seems to help. But I do still have to watch that DD1 doesn't hurt DD2 with love too.

Bella - How is the move going?

AFUS - DD2 had her needles today (I'd delayed them because she had a cold and seemed to take a while to get over it) but seemed to cope really well with it. 'Witching' hour was a little more intense but nothing too bad. She's chatting so much now and starting to drool lots and blow bubbles. She smiles at everybody but really only chats to me or DH. She doesn't seem to sleep much during the day, but is still sleeping quite well at night, waking for feeds 4-5 hourly.

BAL, what a milestone - six months!! I'm so excited for you both! Jett will grow at his own pace, you don't look very big and it sounds like he's on track with everything else. My DD1 was no where near what DD2 is at this age, like Jellyfish but not quite as extreme! My DP is 6" 2' so it was bound to come through in one of our children's genes! DD1 is a bit above average height but light as a feather, like me. Although I was a shortie as a child.

TC, I find the trick to getting her up high is to hold her up there when I first put her on and lean forwards. She's also started grabbing me around the neck to hold on while I wrap. I do have to check where she is during the wrapping to make sure she stays high. Like Jett she loves to look around, so the higher the better.

So exciting BAL!! 6 months, wow. How amazing how far he has come hope you're not coming down with anything.

I don't think it is my milk since DD1 was basically falling off the other end of the charts and same stuff in there although I have heard that breastmilk becomes more calorie dense after the first year of feeding so maybe because DD1 is still feeding it could be affecting things? Definitely genetics for the most part though as my girls have different fathers (biologically speaking). DD1s dad is one of those people with a super high metabolism, can eat anything and still see bones which is just like DD1. DD2s dad is definitely tall and just more well built in general. I'm fairly small myself, short and only 50-55kg outside of pregnancy but very curvy so DD2 could be channeling some of that as well as her dad's height.

Hi girls, just stopping by to say hello. Move is done and now just trying to unpack everyday. there are still boxes everywhere, but I will get there!!!

DD sounds like she is like all the other bubbas and is babbling and cooing like crazy. She has started to nearly giggle in the last few days. you can hear that she is right on the cusp of it. Sooo super cute!!! DH is really starting to interact with her more cos she likes to talk to him heaps. It is really sweet

In other news last week we ended up in hospital because she got a really high temperature really quickly. It turned out to be ok, nothing wrong, I guess I was being super cautious. But you have to be when they r so little. She had bloods done, but I refused to let them do a lumbar puncture because she looked really well otherwise. The consultant in the morning was happy with tha, so that was fine. We went home the next day. Still it was horrid! But we got thru.

H had her first long giggle/laugh yesterday at me and her big sister. She was cracking up, it was so cute to watch! She was laughing for about a minute.

She also likes DP a lot more than DD1 did at this age. He is totally in love with her, it's too cute.

She reached out and grabbed something for the first time this morning and actually held onto it. She's been touching things for a while but not managing to get her fingers to work. It's fascinating watching her discover that the things on the end of her arms that she studies so intently actually do something.

I had a rotten bout of mastitis this week but I'm okay now. DD1 now has a tummy bug, fun way to start the school holidays.

Your birth video is awesome Bella! Must send my footage to my sister next week to get her to do her magic and make it special. Our birth story was in the HB Assoc Birthings mag and I'm putting it away for DD2 in her time capsule. I'm getting extra copies for my Mum and sister too.

It's going by so fast! Imogen sat unassisted for the first time the other day (right on 3 months). She managed to hold it for about 10 seconds or so. I also weighed and measured her for the first time since her 6 week checkup. She now weights 5.94kg and is 65cm long. She's a similar weight to DD1 at the same age, but DD1 didn't get to 65cm until she was 6 months old. I'm wondering if Imogen will be tall and skinny like her aunty (SIL).

Oh wow, TC! DD2 is nowhere near sitting, even when I put her in a rocker she flops over to the side. But she's great at holding up her head and neck. She's just got no waist down control. Lol I don't think she'll be rolling any time soon either, since she just goes to sleep on her tummy! I'm in no hurry, DD1 was cruising at 9 mths and walking at 10. That wasn't as much fun as it sounds!

Pretty sure DD2 is fairly long too, I'm putting away her 000 clothes already. Not sure of weight but at a guess about 6.5 kg now.

HI girls!

We are going well here as well. Slater got weighed last week and weighed 6.78kg!! He is a growing boy! I'd say he would be close to 65cm cuz he was 61.5 at 8 weeks lol and he doesn't look solid just cute baby plumpish! We have got about 2 secs of unassisted sitting lol and then he starts toppling over lol.

We have had three rolls from tummy to back too which was exciting to watch! He looked so surprised when it happened lol. I also got some big boy laughs when we were in the bath the other day. It was just awsome!!

He is just growing so fast and so much! I love spending Time with him and don't want to miss anything!! I'm dreading going back to work part time in two months :-( I'm going to miss my little man so much!

On an update - I was a bit off with the length measured slater at work this morning and he is 76cm!!! OMG hahaha he is such a weed! Lol he is definately going to be taller than his mum when he grows up lol.

Wow girls!!! Maddie weighed 5.2 at 11 weeks, 2 weeks ago. Nothing like the whoopers u all have. I kinda like that. So nice to have a little one this time. Mima was such a big baby. I am enjoying how little she is despite her 8p6o birth weight.

Jen I think Maddie likes her DH more than dd1 did too. It is really cute how excited she gets to see him

Dd2 isn't going to be sitting soon I don't think, although she is showing signs of teething i need to get some amber! If nothing else it seemed to help dd's drool.

Drool on the increase here too, but I think it's just a baby thing.

Put away the 000 clothes today, all ready to post to my sister who only has a month to go. The 00 suits fit DD2 all too well, so I think I was putting off getting them out until the very last minute. When I couldn't bend DD2's legs in last night's 000 suit I knew it was time. Few more of my XSm MCNs have gone away too.

But I am enjoying the extra chatting and smiling! And in other news because we aren't rushing off to school morning and afternoon, DD2 has a chance to have a decent nap. She has started having one really long nap per day, around 2 hours, which is more than double what she's had up to now. The other naps are all 40 mins, but she seems so much more cheerful after her big nap! I think if we can get it into a daily thing I can probably adjust the nap time even once school goes back so that she still gets it. It's bliss for me too, I get so much done! Reminds me of what it was like with just DD1, who basically slept most of the day at this age.

i am starting to look for an amber necklace for DS, i think DD was around 4 months old when she got hers - does this sound right? she is still wearing it so can't pass it on.

ended up starting medication for DS' reflux. it just was getting too much and i didn't think it was fair to keep him so uncomfortable when i could do something.

lots of laughing and smiling, he rolled at 10 weeks but i think it was a fluke cos he hasn't kept it up. he is very strong though, he stands up , just needs to work on his balance

DD loves the greater interaction she is getting from him. she hands him things to hold and tries to lean near him so he will touch her. he sleeps at the back of the house and we have a baby monitor speaker in the lounge, when dd hears him wake up she claps her hands and gets all excited. DD still calls him HER name, which is kinda funny.

i am trying to find my ergo carrier cos i reckon he is probably almost ready for it. i put it away in a safe place when i was pregnant and carrying dd got too hard, and now can't remember where.

about to take a shower with the 2 munchkins, i have a pretty good system going now!

I'm sure the rolling wasn't a fluke, Hot1, it just takes a while to be able to do it consistently. I don't think it'll be long before DD2 rolls because she is lifting herself up really high when she's on her tummy. Naps are all on her tummy now and on our bed and she is settling very quickly this way. She also settles well when I wear her on my back, but I am loving the extra freedom at home now she's happy on the bed.

Your DD sounds so cute with him!

Laying in bed discussing when our one year anniversary is, thinking it must be coming up soon... couldn't quite remember when... it is a bit funny that we ended up using DD2's due date to backtrack to conception to work it out lol... made sure by checking DPs email which had one confirming our gold class movie tickets from our first official date... we missed it haha March 27th! What a year I can't believe how things work out, so happy and lucky!
