Hi ladies. Sorry I've been quiet, Emily had her needles the Friday before last and we've had a horrible week! Very upset and hardly any sleep. She never reacted to the other needles, and neither of my boys reacted like that for any of their needles either - if anything they slept more after them! I've also been so flat out with my foster cats - at one stage I had 23 cats here (6 of my own + 17 foster cats). I am back down to 19 in total now.
Cinder, sorry you're having a hard time with DD1, hope it's a phase that passes quickly. What are you thinking of studying?
vic, hope the conjunctivitis has cleared up okay, poor Jack.
Andie, your little guy must be such a wee little thing! My boys were always around 97% on the charts! And it's all new to me having Emily around the 50% mark. I guess you would be getting good use out of all his clothes?! Emily is in 00 and 0. Sometimes I squeeze her into a 000 depending on what it is. Our pram didn't come with carrycot/chair attachments, it just had 3 positions - flat, midway and sitting. We've been using the sitting position a bit lately, but she is still facing me so I can keep on eye on if she's slipping down!
We've had a few day sleeps in the cot. It's hard work though as it takes her longer to settle than what she actually sleeps for. DH takes the easy way out when he's home and puts her to bed in the bassinet and he wraps her too! Then brags to me that he got her to sleep haha! Yes... by undoing the hard work I do while he's at work!! No plans to start solids here yet, she doesn't seem to be ready at all. We have fully weaned from expressing though. I expressed for the last time last week. It's bitter sweet - yay for no more pumping, but I did imagine I'd have all the time in the world to breast feed for longer with my big boys at school but with her tongue tie and the week in hospital having bottles.. it wasn't to be. She slept through last night for the first time in what seems like forever (has only done it a few times before and hasn't happened for ages) and surprisingly the extra sleep has made me more tired! Haven't stopped yawning all day and even had a nap earlier
cinder - i think i will start wearing him a bit more now that he's a bit bigger, he usually just falls asleep after a short protest but now i think he should be able to look around and enjoy it a bit more. hope you dd1 has calmed down a bit... xx
vic - carrot is the worst coming back up, you poor thing! i think i need to up my little one's tummy time... he is no where near rolling yet! well done, jack.
peeks - i hope emily is ok now. a few people have said that their little ones have reacted strongly to the 4 mth vaccinations... making me a bit nervous about getting ours done. i wonder if they have changed the dose/make-up of the vaccine? yes, my little one is a weenie but he's growing longer every day. he is in 000 jumpsuits, and can still wear his 0000's pants/shorts. my dh will walk our little guy outside until he goes to sleep when its his turn... fair enough i guess... but we are trying to maintain a sleep routine & walking him until he is exhausted from looking at everything is not going to work for me during the day! we are still wrapping, but loosely and leaving the top open a bit so he can get his hands out to chomp on.
afm - just plodding along really, the nice weather is making things easier (ie the 30-40 min catnaps!). have a baby led solids/weaning info session via mchn this week, will be interesting. im thinking we will maybe do a mix of puree & baby led, but i guess we will see how he goes/what he likes. mum asked me yesterday how long i was going to breastfeed for, i said i wasn't sure... have to see how the little one goes etc. she reckons if im still breastfeeding by 10-12 mths it will be more about me rather than him.
