I love reading all your posts it's great to hear about all the changes in everyone's little ones , I love how all babies develop at different times
Still can't believe my little one is walking :/ I mean it's a happy and sad time , I remember with DD1 all her firsts were very welcomed but now with DD2 it's like "please stop growing so fast "
She is so proud of herself though and she does look super cute , I can't stop her growing and doing new things so I just have to go with it I guess haha
Some very cute things she does is picks up a hair brush and tries to brush her hair , gets my hand cream picks it up and starts rubbing her hands together haha , ohh and picking up anything putting it to her ear and saying "bye bye "
I'm not allowed on the phone without having it on speaker to she can hear too haha .
Anyone know their little ones weight and length ?
Peeks how is your other kids going with your DD?
Vic how do you go with your little man being in care ? With the feeding , are you doing BLS or spoon feeding still , just regarding your post about gagging ?
Tasha , are you working or still at home ?
Andie , how's the bf going ? Still demand feeding ?
Cinder, yes I am working one day, possibly going to two days next week. My limit would be four days max. But my pay is pretty good for the industry so I'm happy with 2 days at the moment I get bored very easily so was excited to be rejoining the workforce, even though I miss my little chicken when there!
Melbournes weather is the pits at the moment. Forecast rain for the next week I really hate the rain and cold. I am contemplating a seachange, but would miss my family and friends too much. DD is doing well, she's liking the new routine. Only problem is now I can't get out of the house till at least 12:30 after she's had lunch. I can always head out early, but I prefer her to be in her cot for her morning sleep. That way she's nice and refreshed for the rest of the day and I don't have to deal with tantrums lol
Who is letting their little ones use a spoon themselves? I do try, but she just gets it EVERYWHERE and then she sucks on the handle end. I prefer to just feed her myself that way I know she is full and she will be content for hours.
Yeah we have done BLS so never spoon fed , I have always given a spoon or fork and let her play with it and try and use it if she wants to..
Yeah re def messy but fun and a great way for them to learn what they like , the tastes textures and how to eat different foods . I find they won't always want to eat the same amount of good and will eat what they need and want
It works for us
Of my DD will suck the other end of the spoon too hehe , it's very cute lol
Hi DD had her first plane ride with an impromptu trip to Melbourne to meet her Great-Nan who is quite ill at the moment. A whirlwind 5 days of hospital visits! Glad to be home again and slowly getting back to our usual routine. She was a star on the plane! Grinning at anyone who looked in her direction, extremely well behaved too! She can walk across the room, takes about 20 steps, still prefers to crawl though! Much quicker at crawling, and can really get her speed up if she has something she knows you will take off her!! haha.
Cinder, she has pretty much everything now. Chicken or beef casserole, bolognese, vegies & cheese, rice pudding, chunky fruit mash, yoghurt. I usually give her a bowl of food by spoon and then after i let her finish with a few pieces of fruit or a rice cake or sandwich that she eats on her own. I guess i just like to make sure she's getting enough first.
Cinders - we are mostly bls now. I do spoon feed him dinner though to make sure he gets enough but he feeds himself desert.
We have popped another tooth. His top one has come up so he has cross cut. He is also starting to try taking steps. Letting go of things and lungy at me while sort of taking steps. Its so cute.
Foot and mouth is going around over here and doing the rounds of the child care centres. God willing we dont get it
I'm reading along, not getting a chance to get on computer atm but hopefully I will soon so I can reply properly. I love reading everyone's progress too, and what new things the little ones are in to. : )
Atm, we are trying to take steps too, lunging like vic's jack is doing. We have 6 teeth, 4 on top & 2 on bottom. Getting some more somewhere bc he's drooling again, runny nose & chomping on things. He's wanting me a little bit more atm, which is kind of nice bc he's not a clingy baby really. Quite happy to play on his own, checking in with me every now & then. Loves to clap, put objects in boxes/containers & just generally be where he's not allowed (ie kitchen, bathroom...)! : )
so tired. little guy now has his first real cold. snotty nose, temps, cough - still manages to smile though. he's a little champ. sleep has plunged even further in to a hole though... I've dragged the mattress in to the lounge room & we've all been sleeping there. little guy can't sleep unless he's propped up & is needing a lot more comforting, so I'm finding it easier this way. and I must say, dh & I are quite liking the co-sleeping... so gorgeous to look over & see his sweet little face. although its rough atm, waking every hour. :-/
Sorry to hear that your little one has a cold Andie
Hand, foot & mouth has hit the building. He woke up from his nap on Friday lunchtime covered in a rash and its now turned into blisters. Its pretty horrible and he is so sooki and clingy. We have been in lock down since Friday and think I will be taking the day off tomorrow too. Lucky today is a public holiday. Jack has only had yogurt the last few days and barely and bottles but figure he will catch up after he gets better. Its been full on with him the last few days. Not much sleep during the day either. Its also hard not having family support. We dont have any here although we have awesome friends but they have little ones so don't want to pass it on. DH has been awesome too however yesterday he needed a break and went out the back and started his vegie patch. He came back in refreshed so it was worth it.
Andie and Vic, sorry to hear you have sick bubbas
We've had a constant cold for months now, but I think her immune system has finally built up because she seems ok....until the next outbreak at daycare lol
Sorry to hear about the unwell bubbas, hope these colds & infections pass quickly.
Andie, sorry you are having such a rough time with the sleeping! It does get easier, eventually... I promise. My boys were both shocking sleepers. My DD2 STILL wakes me at night for various reasons (bad dream, to ask if he can have a lunch order at school that day, to tell something he forgot to tell me yesterday, to give me a hug, etc). And he ends up on the floor beside my bed most nights.
Can't believe it's less than 2 weeks until my DD turns 1 - this past year has gone so quickly!! And I've also been thinking, the age DD is now.... it's the same age DS1 was when DS2 was born - crazy!
thanks, peeks. lol at waking you up to give you a hug... you'd have to be like 'thanks, buddy', but really feel like saying 'could that not have waited until 7am??!'. I feel my little one is doing the newborn thing in reverse, he was great sleeping until 7ish months. now he wakes all the time, won't go to sleep in his cot now - I have to sit next to his cot, hold his hand & sometimes lay on my bed with him until he goes to sleep, put him back in to cot only to have him wake again after his sleep cycle of 40 mins! This has just started since he's been sick (the not settling in cot thing). It's intense at the best of times, but really hard work as I'm sick atm too. I'm sure it will get better... :-/
Mchn appointment isn't until next month, but DH jumped on the scales with her and said she was about 10kg, but she just looks like an average baby weight wise, so who knows. But she is in 10-13kg nappies, has been for a couple of months now....
Not sure about weight/height here either. Seems to be average? Not huge, but not tiny either?? I know she feels heavy after carrying her for a while lol
Can't believe this time last year I had already been having contractions on and off for 10 hours!
