im loving co-sleeping!
never thought i would, its kinda strange with my first 2 i co-slept in hosp but once we got home they went into the bassinette but with Bubs i love and encourage it!
makes nightfeeding easy too
the panadene im on for back pain is starting to play chaos on my body, got physio massage tomorrow so hopefully i can start cutting back on pain relief
Least my nipples arent as painful and starting to get eyes open feeds
Oh jeez, I'm going to have to watch what I eat. Lilac has reflux, too. She gargles and splutters all night and posits and sometimes brings up curdled milk, and cries out in pain and grunts and snorts.
I'm really having trouble knowing if she is waking up for a feed or not and as a result I'm waking up constantly to check on her.
So tired. Oh I forgot what everyone else said and I can't see the thread from this app.
How's everyone else's nights going? Ours alternate - great and horrible every second night. Last night was horrible. I don't know why, it's the same as during the day - feed, change, feed to sleep, into bed. During the day she's in her pram basinette in the lounge with lots of light and noise and settles really well, just stays there quietly for 2-3 hours.
At night she's in a cot next to our bed it's quiet and dark. The first feed is fantastic, then change, and the second feed, but she doesn't go to sleep properly. Her eyes keep opening. If I put her in her bed she grunts and moans and moves around and won't sleep properly. Last night she was up constantly till midnight, then 2, 4, 5 & 6. Started to wake up at 7 but I've brought her out to the lounge and she'd fast asleep! What's the deal?

Our newest bouncing bundle arrived on the 21st. She was 2620kgs, I had a difficult posterior labour with 3.5 hour second stage?! After an easy drug free second labour I wasn't expecting the third to be so hard. But little P was posterior with her head de-flexed, she would not descend down the birth canal no matter what position u was in or how hard I pushed. So OB had to manually turn her. OUCH! He injected a bit of local anesthetic to do it, but once she was in the correct position it took 3 pushes and she was out. So I guess I didn't have a totally drug free birth but I'm ok with how it turned out. No tearing which is great for recovery.
Kaytee- P has been a dream until last night. My milk came in and she was up exactly the same times as you guys. Hopefully they settle down. Make sure you sleep today when you can.
DT- how's that bed rest going? Reflux is the worst. DD2 had it. Did you get some meds for it?

my bubs was posterior too, while i didnt get back labour i think it was more painful, by the end i was too exhausted to change posistions and started bleeding heavily so he was delivered by vacuum but even that took effort, strangest thing was no pushing sensation.
Kt- i hope miss belley settles into a much more acceptable routine for you xoxo (my 1st cat napped for 20mins until 2months)
K- poor lilac (and you) now while my children didnt have reflux they all have the dairy intolerance which makes them so chucky, i remember with jhetts colic i had to cut out onions, garlic, chocolate

weve settled into a nice routine 4hrly over night, not so routined during the day but thats ok
Jm: I had a long 2nd stage, too and also hadn't anticipated how hard and painful pushing would be, as my son was born with an epidural and I pushed him out in 3 easy pushes. My son was also posterior but he turned like a cork screw during labour. I was a posterior baby and was delivered by clamps.
Mot: I'm not sure it's reflux, I suppose. It could be lactose intolerance because Jude was, he seems to be growing out of it, now. I have been drinking lots of milk, so I'd better stop. Also going to stop chocolate (for now) and elevate her head in bed. I'll try everything.
Kt: your nights sound like my nights. But I slept in from 6am to 9am, after not getting to sleep until after 1am. So I feel pretty good right now.
K- it sounds like your doing everything i would do xoxox, i remember the NO DAIRY with Jhett didnt help when i fell pregnant with dakotah and was craving smoothies so bad!

I've taken Lilac's very elegant cariboo bassinette and stuck bricks under one end to raise her head. So much for having 1 nice piece of furniture for her. Anyway, it really seems to help a lot which is good.
She feeds pretty much every 3 hours from start of one feed to the next, so I'm getting blocks of 2 hours in between. I'm resigned to it and I'm just glad breast feeding is going well, but phwoar! I hope you are all getting more sleep.
Im getting good sleeping pattens, just forget how long it takes to feed lol (or is it takes me so long to wake up lol)
is anyone else getting the night sweats? ive been waking up SOAKED nd ive never had this before.
K- least Lilac will use her bassinette, mine just sits pretty lol, but so happy to hear breastfeeding is going well xoxox (for the first time i keep freaking out my supply will dry up)

We have the alternating good/ bad nights here too.
Had a muddly few days not sure when shes hungry or when she wants comfort sucking. Milk comes flying out her nose asnd mouth randomly and DH is dragging his heals to ask the dr about meds for her. She has a vacination on tuesday- so i'll push him to talk to the dr then I guess.
I know hes tired and still not strong from his meningitis etc so I know things slip his mind.
Dt: oh you've had to hit the ground running! Child in hospital, husband sick, kids in holidays, baby with reflux... That boggles my mind!
Mot: I knew only bonds 0000 would fit, and yet stupidly I only have 3 wondersuits. I really thought I had more. We're washing constantly. Don't really have enough tiny nappies so they get washed every day, too.
ive ended up with way too many lol - started with 2, but best n less had white on sale and then a friend gave us some
we went out today and bought him a PP bear suit so now his got 3 warm padded suits.
our washing piles up sooooooo fast with 3 kids
we went shopping today and my boobs have almost exploded lol
but we got so many comment on how small and gorgeous he is
woke up so tired today, but cant complain Bubs went 6hrs then 3hrs then 5hrs
my DH made my breakfast in bed, now im still in bed feeding piggy while watching simpsons!
how was everyone elses nights???
my eldest is such a square eyes lol, he came in to see us and got distracted fast by the simpsons LOL

Ladies- what do you do with the girly bits? I mean- I dont know if I should wash everything or just wipe the outside and leave the rest alone. The hospital put some thick cream inside her bits but its almost come off now and Im left wondering what to do.
And heat rash- anybody know a wonder cure for ugly red heat rash? Its so humid here any skin to skin contact leaves you sweating and her back/ neck and arms have this nasty rash. Im trying to air it as much as possible and have now started to use muslin between us at feeds.

Haha dt I know what you mean! I use soft cloths with warm water and gently wipe everything, trying to wipe away from the girly bit. That yellow poo gets everywhere! Boys are easier to clean.
