I've taken Lilac's very elegant cariboo bassinette and stuck bricks under one end to raise her head. So much for having 1 nice piece of furniture for her. Anyway, it really seems to help a lot which is good.
She feeds pretty much every 3 hours from start of one feed to the next, so I'm getting blocks of 2 hours in between. I'm resigned to it and I'm just glad breast feeding is going well, but phwoar! I hope you are all getting more sleep.
Im getting good sleeping pattens, just forget how long it takes to feed lol (or is it takes me so long to wake up lol)
is anyone else getting the night sweats? ive been waking up SOAKED nd ive never had this before.
K- least Lilac will use her bassinette, mine just sits pretty lol, but so happy to hear breastfeeding is going well xoxox (for the first time i keep freaking out my supply will dry up)
Hey Kitten! Hey JM! congrats! Hugs on the posterior baby hun, ouch!
lovin this bed rest! nah- only got a week and DS2 has been in hospital for 6 days so I have had to be up and about and now is school holidays so...
We have the alternating good/ bad nights here too.
Had a muddly few days not sure when shes hungry or when she wants comfort sucking. Milk comes flying out her nose asnd mouth randomly and DH is dragging his heals to ask the dr about meds for her. She has a vacination on tuesday- so i'll push him to talk to the dr then I guess.
I know hes tired and still not strong from his meningitis etc so I know things slip his mind.
Dt: oh you've had to hit the ground running! Child in hospital, husband sick, kids in holidays, baby with reflux... That boggles my mind!
Mot: I knew only bonds 0000 would fit, and yet stupidly I only have 3 wondersuits. I really thought I had more. We're washing constantly. Don't really have enough tiny nappies so they get washed every day, too.
ive ended up with way too many lol - started with 2, but best n less had white on sale and then a friend gave us some
we went out today and bought him a PP bear suit so now his got 3 warm padded suits.
our washing piles up sooooooo fast with 3 kids
we went shopping today and my boobs have almost exploded lol
but we got so many comment on how small and gorgeous he is
Haha dt I know what you mean! I use soft cloths with warm water and gently wipe everything, trying to wipe away from the girly bit. That yellow poo gets everywhere! Boys are easier to clean.
DT- you gotta be much cleaner with girls (make sure inside is always 100% spotless)
i agree boys are 10times easier to clean lol
i cant currently complain about Hudsons sleeping and eating (must be 3rd child - they know they wont be heard over the older 2 lol)
OMG it took 2 hrs to get Bubs to sleep, he wasnt unsettled or sooky (actually didnt cry once) just wanted to feed and poop for 2hrs but he finally fully passed out hopefully he sleeps for ages!
AHHH i gotta stop eating fruit mentos im eating like 2 to 3 packets a day
PZ- how you feeling now? hows feeding going?
Mot: Jude used to get those blisters, too. Lilac got dry lips that peeled in hospital, but has soft beautiful lips now. My nipples are very soft now, too.
When she feeds, my boobs drip like a tap and when she comes off the boob they keep running, it's serious let down. It seems really watery, though. I feel like I'm not producing much hind milk. A lactation consultant told me not to worry about hind milk, she said it doesn't take long and it all mixes, but lilac's doing thin, watery and frothy yellow poos today, so it's either an intolerance to something I ate or not enough hind milk.
Hi ladies, I've finally got around to finding this thread!
My not so little boy, Finn, was born on the 22nd June. I had a fantastic natural, drug free birth - I'm amazed at how much easier it was second time around! Was not expecting that! He weighed 4.6kg (10pd 1oz), 54cm long and 35.5cm head. Had a small tear that didn't require stitches and was home 4 hours later. The first 2 days were tough as he wouldn't sleep and only wanted to feed, but once my milk came in he really has been a pretty easy baby. Touch wood! DD on the other hand has been doing her best to drive me up the wall. I know it must be a really hard transition for her and I feel so guilty whenever I lose patience with her, but man juggling the two of them is tough!
Those that have boys - is there any trick to avoiding getting sprayed at nappy times? The two of us end up covered in wee which is not fun in the early hours of the morning!
Hi Lani, congrats on the birth of Felicity Are the girls outnumbering the boys in here?
Lol MoT, she's only a snug fit in two of her 000, I held them up to her 0000 suits and they're the same size. They still fit, but not for long!
Getting loads of awake time here now too, I love it And slowly getting into a good method of feeding and sleeping, I think my old way was giving her wind and making her really unsettled.
Went to Target today, surprise surprise she needed a feed! Even though I fed her just before we left. I think she's an exhibitionist lol.
LMAO KT it sounds like it, but think it takes a bit of practise to get BF right so shes so proud of herself she just HAS to show off lol
i think boys will take over weve had 7 babies so far (all singletons too!) and its 2 girls and 5 boys!
weve had a bit of wind lately but ive become a chocoholic so that could be it
(but he just doesnt fuss, he just stays awake and prefers to be held or feed too easy)
