Well I'm feeling like a fish out of water right now! Belley has been asleep in her own room for an hour, being only the second time I've ever put her in there! She looks so tiny lol.
So I've gotten dressed, brought in the bins, taken out the rubbish and bottles & cans, done washing and put some away, tidied our room, the lounge, and the kitchen and done the dishes. Now sorting through a huge pile of paper from our office for tax.
Only thing is the sensor pads on the monitor aren't working properly so if she's too quiet I keep going in to poke her lol.

Kaytee the trip to Sydney is 10hrs. Both boys did really well though. Hamish slept most of the way and Noah slept an watched DVDs

Hudson had his 4 week check he now weighs 3.73kg length 53cm and head 36cm
his still smaller then his siblings when they were born, so looks like hell stay my little bubba for longer
Hudson is still doing fantastically sleeps 8-9hrs a night :D
his so observant of everything now im loving it, his rolled a few times from belly to back and he loves having looooooooooooong eye contact.
still got bad hormonal rash :( and gets wind but infacol helps so much
we had newborn photos done on saturday which follow on from my mat photos :D
KT- belley may have been so unsettled and preferred the pram as she was feeding off mood which is so understandable she had given you a rough time all day and been overly demanding xoxo but happy to read shes happier tonight xoxo

had our 4wk check today. Hamish is 4.73kg and 56cm. hes gained 700grms since birth :D

sorry thought i would also post in this thread, but am from early june. william weighed in at 5.37kg and 57.5cm at his 4week check, have his 6 week check on monday, will be interesting to see how he goes. he had put on over a kg since birth.

Where do you guys get your 4 week checks done? I didn't actually do one. I was supposed to go to CAFHS for a look around and stuff last week, but don't have a car for a while. When I called them though they weren't going to do much other than show me around, if I wanted more I'd have to make an appointment. Other than that we'll be getting a check up at 8 weeks when Belley gets her needles :( I weighed her last night though (just by taking my weight off our combined weight) and at 5 weeks she's about 5.5kg. And she's 58cm!! Put a 0000 suit next to her and it looks so small lol. Sounds like she's very similar to William Bskilner, weight & length wise.
Far out Tara, that's a long drive! And here I was worried about 3 hours lol.
We've suddenly had good sleeping! It's unreal! Last night she went down at 10, woke up at 3, down at 3:30, up at 6, down at 6:30 and up at 9. That last one really had me confused, she doesn't normally do that one! And now she's gone down again at 11:15. I feel kind of lost when she's asleep in her room lol.
MoT, hooray for Hudson rolling! I'm not sure when Belley will do that, I don't really leave her on her tummy by herself for long. I play with her a bit on her tummy, as long as she likes it, but she can't really get her legs up under her with the bulky cloth nappies - dunno if that makes a difference. She's happy to play around on her back on her play gym mat thingy, but not so much on her tummy because she can't see things.
I find it kind of funny that Hudson still isn't the same weight as Annabelle was at birth! He's the same length now as she was, and her head was half a cm bigger lol. Dunno what I'd do with such a tiny little bub.
And yep, she was definitely picking up on a stressed out Mummy the other night! Now I give her straight to DH when he comes home and have a shower. He plays with her or settles her with a dummy or whatever (still have to hold the dummy or she spits it out lol). Have also found that if we use the dummy and other settling techniques rather than have her thrash around on the boob, by the time she's properly hungry the milk's built up more, she gets a better feed, then settles better and sleeps better. Touch wood anyway, I'm hoping she keeps up what she started last night!
Have fun with your newborn pics! We did ours on Saturday with Pixifoto. They're not great, but still alright. Wouldn't use them again though, and if we had the cash I'd go somewhere else now and get better ones done. 15 minutes is not long enough to photograph a baby, and they didn't listen to what we wanted :(

yeh she seems to be similar to him, just like at birth lol. we had appointments for checkups given to us by maternal child health nurse and i go to their centre to see them. william isnt rolling right over, but if hes on his back he tends to roll to his right side, then his arm blocks him from going further.
i too felt lost at first, putting william to sleep during day, thinking now what do i do. but i use that time to try and relax and get housework done so i dont become too stressed by the afternoon, especially if he isnt settling.
claps on getting a routine going for the afternoon, and working out a feeding pattern, she just might like sucking to soothe. william wont have a bar of a dummy so we've given up on them, doesnt really seem to affect him though. i think he might have colic, as at night time he gets very difficult to settle even in our arms, just crying. we have started a kind of routine, so hopefully when the colic passes he will be a better afternoon sleeper. when he wakes around dinner, dh will try to settle him, if he wont settle, dh cuddles him until i have my dinner then i feed him. then give him to dh to settle to sleep with him (ie cuddles), then i have a shower. when ive finished i start getting everything ready for bed and his wash. then he has a shower with dh. i then massage and dress him. then have cuddles until his next feed. then feed him in the room with lights down low. then try to settle him in his bassinette. if he doesnt settle i will take him out for cuddles until he looks tired and then try settling again. and continue until next feed, which usually he falls asleep after without needing intervention.

KT- hudson at a month old is still smaller then my first 2 born! my best friends son is 2.5weeks younger yet im swapping her 0000 for my 000 bearsuit as her sone has already outgrown his.
We were so WIDE awake yesterday, he had maybe 2.5hrs nap over the entire day, he wasnt screaming just didnt wanna nap and wanted to comfort feed more, i finally fought him to sleep at midnight where he slept and has been perfect again today.
B- colic should start to ease very soon, Jhett had it until 2 months and suddenly it stopped xoxox
KT- thes crap it was only 15mins!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ours was an hr sitting plus viewing time (it was longer when we did the mat photos as the kids wouldnt behave lol)
we have never used pixiphoto, ive seen there work its great but i cant justify the price
Hudson has just figured out how to pull his dummy out!!!! but he managed to get it back in before
his become very very relient on it which was somthing i wanted to avoid but hey his happy! and sleeping 8-9hrs
we bought a baby bjorn on the weekend and its FANTASTIC, makes life so much easier, especially shopping
we mainly bought it cause 6-8pm his usually so unsettled, but this week ive only used once at dinner time lol

Hi everyone!
Have been trying to keep up with what is going on... mainly on my phone though... and in the middle of the night and so haven't had much of a chance to respond or update.
DD is 3 weeks and 3 days now. I had a caesarean delivery, and have had a few minor infections (internal and external) so recovery has been a bit slow. Our first two trips out of the house with her were to take me to the GP. We've managed a few trips out since, a few times for lunch, once to the library, a few family visits and we just went on our first walk around the block.
At last checkup DD weighed in at 2650g. She was above her birth weight within a few days of coming home (only spent two nights in hosp). Seems to be feeding well, have had a few problems with latching on but we're working on it. We've also started to notice a sleeping pattern which is helping us work our days out.
If you don't mind me asking... how much are professional photos costing everyone?
We were going to get some done, but my DB lent us his awesome camera and we've been laying DD down on rugs and have managed to get some pretty good photos. I'm stressing out though, she seems to be growing and changing so fast - I don't want to miss anything!
Will try read back and catch up properly now...!

MoT i hope the colic does stop soon, it is very difficult hearing your baby screaming and being unable to fix it. i think he must also be going through a growth spurt at the moment because his sleeping patterns have changed and he has a new ear piercing cry.

bskilner- I hear you hun, Colic is really hard to deal with. Not being able to "fix it" for baby. we use infacol- I have had good results with 2 babies on this, it takes about 3 days to start working. Also we fibd a dummy helps- the sucking action soothes and it helps with her reflux too- seems to keep the milk down abit more. They do grow out of colic, so hang in there. Hugs, you are doing a great job.

he wont really suck on a dummy, just cries when you hold it in his mouth. we have started him on colic relief of a night time, so will see if that works. he has been grizzly today, dont know if he senses mums not well, as i had a mild fever this morning of 37.6, think i might be getting an infection.

Hi Girls,
Things have been going ok here. I have been pretty sick in the last 24hrs but my DH has been fantastic. He got up to Hamish all night and brought him to me to feed and he looked after both boys this morning so I could sleep. Was fantastic. I feel much better this afternoon :D
Hamish is going pretty well. Very windy little man, I don't remember Noah being this bad, but I guess memories fade after 2 years and those first weeks are a bit of a blur now :lol: Anyway's been making sure we burp him well and he will take a dummy so that's been helping too. Hoping that it only lasts till the 2mth mark!

Hey everyone :) I've been AWOL due to crappy internet - too hard to write a decent reply on the phone!
Bskilner, how's William going with the colic? Big hugs to you hun, it's just horrible when they cry and you don't know how to help them :( I hate seeing Annabelle cry when I can't 'fix it' for her, makes me cry too :( We had the same problems with the dummy - it's not the righ shape, she wasn't used to it. But she needed to suck on something to help with her wind, and my nipples were really copping it lol. Now DH props her up in the tri-pillow, holds the dummy for her, and she sucks and stares at him til she falls asleep. He's so proud that he can do that for her :) But there are still times when she definitely doesn't want it - she cries harder or gags on it, we don't push it if that's the case.
Hope you're not getting an infection, it's not nice to be sick when you have a little person to look after! :hug:
MoT, how cute he can pull his dummy out! Now to get him putting it back in himself lol. DH and I always said we'd never use a dummy, but in the late afternoons that really is the only way to settle her. I wouldn't worry about him becoming dependant on it though, kids always grow out of them :) How does he go if you take it out once he's asleep? Our community midwife told us to use it just for settling, then take it our as soon as we can so that it's not still there when she wakes up.
Harriet, our photos were actually reasonably priced I reckon. It really sucks that we didn't get long - PixiFoto seriously rush you through, so you really only get the standard pics - they don't have time to do a massive range. We didn't get to change her - I wanted at least one of her just in her cow print nappy, but no time :( We got a free sitting (basically everyone does), a discounted black and white photo that was bigger than the others, and then 14 smaller ones (still bigger than a regular photo) for $450. It was funny, they show you all this 'fantastic editing' they've done to try to con you into buying more - as if I can blend two photos and write Annabelle over the top! Then they show you the cost for buying every photo - over $3.5k usually, but $1.7k as a "package". Shut her down pretty quickly there! So we just went through and discarded the ones we didn't like, and she said we could get 7 for $375 (of course 'discounted' from some ridiculous price). We said we weren't too happy with that, and got the 14 for $450. She made out she was doing us some special deal, but I really don't think it costs PixiFoto much to do these pics. So anyway, 16 all up, which is way cheaper than anywhere in SA I could have gone and would have had to travel further.
Tara, boo to being sick :( And to Hamish being windy, poor little guy. I found Infacol and a dummy worked wonders for Belley. Hope he gets better soon, or you find something that works for you.
As for us, we're doing well. I feel like I've really 'learnt' Annabelle, knowing what her signs are and what she needs. The other night she slept for 7 1/2 hours, I woke up sooo confused! Thought there must have been something wrong with her lol. She's gone back to having 6 hours sleep the first time, then three hours the second. After that the morning seems to be awake for an hour, sleep for an hour, till about 1, when she'll sleep for 2-3 hours, then have lots of awake time when DH gets home at 3:30.

Hi everyone, sorry really finding time an issue as we all are at the moment. I have been reading just not posting. DH has gone back to work and Hamish like the sounds of lots of the bubbas has had quite bad wind issues. So I find I am just getting what I have to have done around the house.
BS Hamish hates the dummy too, i have tried different shapes and sizes and he just cracks the poos even more. My other 2 loved their dummy and it did make it easier when they had pains. oh well...

william doesnt really seem to want the dummy too much so not overly fussed. started him on some colic relief and last two nights he has cried a lot less so heres hoping.

Jax, what are you doing for Hamish's wind? My DH has a lot of success with the dummy, and circling her legs etc, but a lot of the time when I try it's like she smells me and just wants boobs. Thankfully she's been ok while DH is at work, but if you've got tips I'd love to hear them!
Just went shopping on my own for the first time! Thankfully Annabelle was pretty happy the whole way around - a few little sooks but the dummy fixed it today. Then went and got her weighed - she's 5.62kgs! Gaining an average of 230g per week, so I know all that feeding is working at least lol. And even better, the trip wore her out so now she's sleeping and I actually managed to put away the shopping and do the dishes. Hooray!
