william was 57.5cm and 5.37kg on monday at his appt, he is in the 90th percentile, so he is a big boy.
had issues last week with bf, william startled and pulled my nipple with him which reopened the crack that had almost healed. which led me to have a teary breakdown. so stopped feeding on affected side for couple of days and feeling better now. went to bf day stay on wednesday as it has still been hurting when feeding, and it turns out i wasnt attaching properly. he wasnt getting enough breast tissue, and was mainly sucking on nipple, which is why ive been having so much pain. so now i have to point my nipple into his soft palate which is helping tremendously.
he has been really unsettled this week, so i though id try starting him on a sleeping routine. and so far so good, started yesterday afternoon. just by how things are going today, i might have been keeping him up too long, missing all his tired cues, making him overtired and not easy to settle. and i might have been interrupting his sleep, as apparently sometimes because of their sleep cycles they just need to be resettled, not gotten up when they wake up. so today i have been maintaining 3 hourly feeds instead of 1.5-2hourly, and if he wakes between i settle him back to sleep. following the eat, play, sleep method. and have changed my feeding routine, to feed on one side, when he falls asleep, burp him and change his nappy then try him on other side.
