Well hello everyone!
I don't think I've posted on here since Willow was about 10 weeks old ... had a bit of a meltdown suffering with such an unsettled first born and I needed to find my own groove with this motherhood caper.
Pleased to say we have survived the first 6 months, Willow is doing really well and I've relaxed and settled into a bit of more workable routine and lifestyle.
It's been wonderful to sit here this afternoon and read up on all the threads. Everyone sounds like they've had similar struggles, trying periods and challenges ... just what you need to hear sometimes, just to know you are not alone or going mad.
Bubs update - Willow is rolling over, has one bottom tooth and his mate to the left is just breaking the surface today, has two lots of solids a day, 4 bottles and has slept through since 9 weeks (sleeping 8pm till 6am) - the sleeping is her saving grace, we've had a nightmare baby to deal with at most other times.
She's not able to balance enough to sit up yet and she's trying VERY hard to get a crawl motion happening. She has mastered the art of a back shuffle, so she is mobile and can't be left alone for too long ... she ended up wedged under the ottoman the other day when I went out the back to bring in the washing.
Willow had her 6 month needles last Friday, managed them fine but had a bit of a bump under the skin at the injection site on her left leg. I think it bothered me more then it bothered her!
I am still off work fulltime, planning to go back part time in April 2011.
Looking at childcare options now, woah ... who knew you had to book in so freaking far in advance!!
I have my Mum minding her one day a week, so I guess we can always ask her for 2 days if I really get stuck. I plan to go back to work 2 days a week to start off with and see how I go.
Anyway, I am pleased to be back on here and look forward to chatting more often!

I had been wondering how you were going, good to hear from you. Squidipa, Tobi has the same problem, he is on Zantac for his reflux, have you had problems with reflux? The Zantac made a huge difference, he was not so noisy after starting it.
Tobi's latest trick is shaking his head like he is saying no. He also tries to catch people's eyes and then gives them a big smile and his whole body wriggles, it is so cute. He is such a character, this is a great age, their personality really starts to come out.

We are ok ... teething ... but ok and survivng.
Will is just so clingy at the moment, making getting anything done almost impossible.
Am trying to just roll with it and accept that she just needs me now, the other stuff can just wait. But boy, it makes for a draining day.
I ache for DH to come in the door from work, just so I can have 5 minutes to take a shower and make a cuppa in relative peace and quiet.
Have ordered a Baltic Amber Teething Necklace - anyone else tried one? Had any success? Must admit I am nervous about using it ... they are little beads in the perfect shape to swallow :o DH is not too thrilled about the idea.
Well here's an update from us......
Robert is rolling all over the place and is sitting unsupported. He looked like he was going to try to crawl, but now he can sit up he seems to have lost interest. I'm happy to have him remain in one place for now!! He has one tooth and the second one is about to cut any day now.
His latest trick is to bounce! He loves to bounce - we should have called him Tigger. He doesn't have a jolly jumper or anything remotely like that, but last Wednesday he started "bouncing" on my lap and now he doesn't want to sit (you have to try and bend him... hehehe!) he wants to jump and thinks it is just the funniest thing ever!
We finally moved back East, but until Friday we are still staying in a hotel - our furniture arrives on Friday so it's all go ahead for then!
I started back at work last Friday and Robert is in full-time childcare. The centre is great and I just pop around when he's due for a feed - they call me if he's asleep (when I'm due to go around) or if he's showing signs of being hungry. So far it's working. My lovely boss is happy for me to continue with this arrangement.
DH doesn't get back until 3 December. I miss him so much and it's sad how much he's missing out on. I've been recording everything I can but it's still not the same. I send him an updated photo (daily) so he's always got the latest one to look at.
I hope I don't sound awful, but I'm finding myself to be a lot less tired at the end of the day now I'm at work. You don't seem to appreciate how exhausting it is being at home with our little ones 24/7. Who would have thought I'd go to work to get a break?!!
Well that's it for me for now..... I better get back to work!
Hi all - haven't been here for ages...so much going on and trying to keep a grip on everything.
Cass - so glad the move has gone well and work/care balancing nicely. I remember going back to work with DS1 and it was a holiday - going to be even more so after having the two - but it is the getting to work (getting kids organised) that is the hard part....lol!
Soph had her christening on the weekend. She had a ball and looked beautiful!!
She is sitting, rolling all over the place, commando crawling and rocking back and forth on her knees - she desperately wants to crawl and she is standing holding on to the couch....with so much practise to do - she isn't sleeping well at night....but at least she is in her own cot in her own room now...last night she was up on her hands and knees rocking each time I went in to her!!! No time for sleep she says!!!

Toby is doing really well at the moment after about 3 months of constant ear and throat infections and antibiotics. At one stage he would finish the course of AB and would have an infection again in 2 days :o. Poor wee thing. It was horrible knowing he was in pain all the time. But he's a tough little nut and smiled through it all.
He's sitting really well and rolls all over the place, and I think he's very close to crawling - gets up on his hands and knees and rocks but seems to think he can just launch himself forward without moving his arms so we've had a few face plants :doh: I have mixed feelings about him being on the move. It's definitely the end of the little baby stage, which is a bit sad. He's also going to be a very active boy - he's never still now. Always has his arms and legs going flat out and spends most of his day trying to crawl :lol: He watches his big sister running around and I can see in his face that he's desperate to chase her!
No teeth yet, and they don't look to be that close either. DD was a late teether so I'm thinking T will be the same. Suits me while I'm still BF! He's been slow to take to solids but seems to be getting in to it now. He loves the veggies I make him and the baby custard I make from a powder. He's really not keen on the fruit and yoghurt packets (rafferty's garden) though - I think they're too sweet for him. Sometimes I'll mix the fruit in with some cereal and he doesn't mind that.
Sleep is still very hit and miss around here. He slept through from 8 pm until 5.30 am two nights in a row and then the following week was up every couple of hours. Day sleeps are a bit all over the place too. He will have a good morning sleep (couple of hours) if I'm at home but doing the kindy drop off really messes with the morning sleep. He will occasionally have another good afternoon sleep but often just cat naps until bed about 6.30 -7pm.
Has anyone noticed a bit of clinginess (is there such a word!?) lately? I've really noticed in the last few days that Toby wants to know I'm close and will get quite upset if he's unsure of a stranger or if I'm not within his sight.
thrilled - I sooooo hear you on being ready for DH to walk in the door at the end of the day. Some days I really envy him being able to leave in the morning, all dressed up with somewhere to go :lol:. My aim is to stay at home with Toby until he's at least 3 but I know I'm going to be very ready to get back to work (just a few hours a week) by then. I'd like to work just to earn enough to pay for a house cleaner!! I hate house work so much.
Cass - What a woman! Moving interstate, living out of a motel, starting a new job and all on your own with a 7 mth old baby in tow. I was freaking out about trying to move house within the same suburb! Must be so hard not having your DH there to unwind with at the end of the day and to share all Robert's special moments. Is he in the Navy?
I told DH that you were finding it less tiring to be going to work full-time than being at home and he didn't have much to say about that! I'm sure he thinks he's got it so much harder than I do :rolleyes: It's such a shame that he will never know how exhausting being a mum is.
Hope you settle i to your new place okay - what a relief to be out of the motel!!
LJ - great to hear from you! I often think of you and wonder how you're doing. Have you managed to get a break yet?
Phew - what a novel I've written. Better get moving - I'm taking DD to a new indoor playground for a play date this morning and I'm not dressed yet.

Well Hannah update She has been sitting up by herself for months now, and has been crawling for a few weeks or more hhmmmm not sure what i think about that one yet,she pulls herself up on lounges in the bath cot etc and stands for a bit before falling over again.
She started saying 'mmmm' at 4 months then said mum and has been since then, the last few weeks she has been doing the 'da da's .. she may have said 'DAD' but sometimes its hard to hear .
We are doing BLS which we love, no mush food for the moo, she chews and loves to hold the food and explore,watch us eat and then copy,its just a great thing to doa nd we love it .We started off on mush but that just wasnt the way we wanted to go..Still full breastfeed going very well with that.
Very hard gums , did see some white tooth pop out but it went back in so no teeth out yet, still using me as a dummy , im still not being able to sleep much at night ,she sleeps in the bed with me mostly all night as there is no other way..Im not sure of a way to try and lessen the dummy boobie but am hoping she will stop soon as its been months now and my back and side are killing me from laying in the one position at night,along with my poor nipples!
She now can wave when we wave at her, she loves peek a boo ,she is a very happy baby..Except when she is over tired or teething..
Anywho hope everyone is doing great & those little beautiful babies of your's are doing marvalous (sp) lol
I actually have a minute or two to give an update and let you know what we have been up to!
Well, the whole moving into the new home debacle is finally behind us. I can’t say we are truly settled as yet because I am still surrounded by boxes upon boxes upon boxes upon …… you get the picture. Last night I managed to sort out the pantry and put away the dreaded plastics plus empty two more boxes – where oh where did all this crap come from?
I have to get my sewing machine out on the weekend to take in a couple of skirts for work (out of necessity!!). My pre-pregnancy clothes don't fit! I really need to get some more tops suitable for BFing too - I put a dress on this morning, was all set to walk out the door and realised that I would have to strip at the childcare centre to give Robert a feed!!
Robert is settling really well into Childcare. The ladies there are just lovely and the whole carer to bubs ratio is very good. I wander down at 10.30-10.45ish and 2.30-2.45ish to give Robert a BF which is nice. I’ve put an electric pump on layby and know that I should get it out because we have some busy times coming up at work, but at the moment I’m enjoying taking 15 minutes twice a day to have a cuddle with my little man. Leaving it on layby is just my way of delaying the inevitable of giving him expressed milk hahaha! He seems all very nonplussed when I leave, but in the last couple of days when he sees me walk in, he starts this little bouncy thing and puts his hands up. It’s just too cute for words!
His latest trick is to try to stand up in the bath. He grabs the side and pulls himself up. I don’t encourage this at all – firstly for safety reasons (thank goodness for my crocodile bathmat purchase from Ikea) and secondly I don’t want him standing before daddy gets home! (yes, he's in the Navy) The little bugger is already getting up on all fours and rocking, I know that I most likely won’t be able to defer the crawling until Peter’s home but I definitely don’t want him walking! I don’t encourage it (or actively discourage it) so more than likely he will be up and running in record time! How long between getting up on all fours and rocking was it until Hannah crawled Shell??
He has two little bottom teeth and takes delight in biting me. I’ve tried the stern “NO” and taken the boob away, but he thinks it’s just the most hilarious thing ever. He actually bit one of the childcare workers fingers yesterday – she said she was holding him on her lap and he had hold of her hands and before she knew it, he had stuck one of her fingers in his mouth and bitten down! Hope he doesn’t get expelled!!
The last few nights have been great sleeping-wise. Up until now I’ve been running on empty. I think a combination of being dragged around from pillar to post and uncomfortable portacots had taken their toll – added to that a dose of a cold and sore throat and my little man was not giving me any rest (up every 1 to 2 hours each night is not good when you have to actually leave the house the next day and function!). A week ago I had a grumpy baby who had an even grumpier mum who wasn’t at all happy to chat with her little man in the wee hours of the morning….or the hour after that, or the one after that, or the one after that…. Yesterday and today he had some of his breakfast, ate all his lunch at childcare and last night he attacked his dinner again with gusto (and did the same the night before) so I hope that he’s finally feeling settled and we can get ourselves into a routine (or sorts). I have probably jinxed myself now and will be woken at hourly intervals again tonight!
I still worry all the time about not feeding him enough and whether or not I’m doing the right thing with just about everything but I managed to get DS1 to 15 so maybe I’m not doing so bad.
The more I think about it the more I think we should write down our experiences to put into a book of sorts. I think it’s a fabulous idea – I just wish I had one of those books that I can refer to: one with real advice from real mums, not something that a doctor/midwife/child health nurse wrote. Something that says it’s okay now and then to feed your kids weetbix for breakfast, lunch and dinner because you’re too tired/couldn’t be bothered to get them anything else!!
Shell - wonderful to have you back - I'm glad everythings going so well for you, Hannah sounds like she's doing really really well (ah, they're such a joy!) :) Also, the "no mush" thing is great. I must admit that Robert has mush for breakfast - his oats mixed with fruit puree - and he also gets pureed veges at the childcare centre. For dinner I still mash but not as finely. He loves cooled carrot sticks, spiral pasta and his favourite are teeny little vegemite sandwiches. He mostly just squishes it all around his mouth and between his fingers but some is going in! I usually give him a plate of food (on the weekend when I have more time) to "play and experiment" with... something to get his hands into and feel the textures and taste the different flavours.
Squidipa - two in nappies.... argh! Obviously you've still got your hands full! Chakotay looks gorgeous.
Jandals - we've had quite a few face plants too. I'm sure he thinks it's my fault! I get the most accusatory look.
Does anyone else have really really sore nipples?? Sorry if TMI but I swear this bub is chewing more than drinking and I'm constantly sore, it's like they are grazed. Or maybe it's his sucking "style" has changed???? I'm not giving him additional feeds so it's not that.
Well I better get back to work!

Well Lennox is still my lil baby. I think I just don't want him to grow up too quickly!
With DS1 he was crawling by 6 months,sitting up, eating banana, watermelon, the works. Lenny on the other hand can't sit up at all or crawl, tried the finger food and nearly had to call the ambulance cos he went purple chocking on the food. So we have moosh moosh and more moosh lol!
He is very happy with it.
He is such a happy baby. So cheerful and loving. I know that he is perfectly healthy and very alert, he is just taking his time with it all which I am totally happy with.
His big bro looks after him so well. He feeds him at night time and helps bath him.
The two boys are so very different.
So interesting to hear what your lil bubs are up to and what they like.
Cass my boobs are just on the mend. Len was pulling off the nipple when he was teething and did it so many times it cut a slice into it. Had a bit of a yucky wound going on for a bit..sorry TMI there.
Well off to bake a cake for a wedding and get ready for work tonight, don't start till 7pm but I have so much to get done b4 DH gets home and has to look after them.
cass - have you seen the book kidwrangling by kaz cooke? I'm about 2/3 of the way through it so far and its the most honest book I've read, with real advice! A great laugh too :)
Dee - Lacie is much the same, chokes on anything thats not completely smooth, has just mastered sitting up but no intentions of crawling just yet. They will get there whenever they are ready, that's what I figure! Plus it gives me longer to babyproof the house before she starts getting to mobile lol

They are not actaully choking its just gagging which is a normal reflex for them, they are learning all about food,hannah has gagged many times ,they have a reflex that does not allow food to go past a certain point on the tongue,they cough to remove any food that has gone past the 'point' ..It is very rare they will choke for real if they are sitting up in a high chair eating the right foods for BLS and are over 6 months old

Shell - can you tell me a bit more about your BLS - my son went easily through all the traditional mush stages...but Soph simply refuses to be fed with a spoon so I am giving her finger foods but she doesn't seem to consume that much really. My son was eating so so much more!!
She is having steamed carrot and apple pieces, pieces of avo, cheese sticks, mini sandwiches, toast fingers, biccies, pasta pieces...what else are people doing??
Soph is really quick with her commando crawling now - getting about the house well. She is still rocking back and forth on her knees with headplants!!! Lol!!
She has got the hang of moving about from rolling, to sitting, to crawling, back to sitting etc. Having so much fun exploring all the toys her brother leaves scattered all throughout the house!!! Had to go through all his toys and throw out anything small just so I didn't need to keep such a close eye on things. Back to childproofing in full!!!
Hope you are all well - get back when I have a bit more time...been organising finance as our car spacked out, bathroom floor ripped up due to water damage and termites found in a matter of a few weeks!!! ARGH!!!! Just in time for going on no pay in a fortnight...always the way!!!

With the BLS, i am giving the same as you,this is what she has tried
Avo,rockmelon,peach,nectarine,pear,apple,banana,to ast,vegimite,chicken,pasta,carrot,peas,potato,swee t potato,mango,paw paw..I know there is more but i cant think atm
Don;t worry if she doesnt seem to be a=eating much,with BLS u need to trust your baby ,as they know what they need,she will eat what she needs,she will explore,learn to chew and see what she likes doesnt like etc..I love BLS,I love watching Hannah have a go at foods and her face if she tastes something she finds odd heheh:)
She will eat more when she is ready,what we do is offer on her high chair a few different foods at meal times, so for example put down a few steamed vegies ,meat if you want cheese,etc dinner or lunch and let her choose what she wants to try.
As long as she is still getting her milk feeds the solids is not important 'Food is fun untill im one' ..She will start eating more when she needs it ,I trust that they know what they need:)
Cass,with crawling, it was a few months back that Hannah started doing the bum pushing thing in the air,then she moved onto pulling hersef along the floor with her tummy and arms,now the last few weeks she is on the move in full crawl mode! ,and now pulling herself up on EVERYTHING , she tried to take a step yesterday :( she couldnt though to wobbly could only manae one hand not holding on...where is my baby?

Soph has been on a waving frenzy since she started in the week and says hello - well is sounds more like herow...and she says herow dad alot!!! So cute!!
She is just starting to point = got the finger action happening but not extending the arm - nearly there....as loves a high five....so cute when they start really interacting!!
However, the tanties - from a 7 mth old - when you take something off her or move her when she doesn't want to....unbelievable...my son didn't start that till he was around 15mths!!!!
LJ we have the head fling back hahah and wow does she get upset when you take something off her she cant have etc hahah :)
Oh gosh we have 4 teeth and 2 cutting through! One grumpy lil bub.
Lenny is army crawling now and goes round and round and backwards. Sitting up still isn't happening but he likes to be on the move more than sitting.
We have started persisting on the finger foods now. He loves vegemite and avo on toast and banana. He still coughs and splutters on nearly everything.
I so don't remember DS1 ever having troubles eating foods at this age.Though he did start eating at 4 months with directions from the doctor as he was so under weight.
Do any of your bubs vomit if they are coughing on the food. Lenny seems to vomit all his food back up if he gets something stuck. He is getting better every day though!!
We have started giving him formula of a night time as I am at work 3 nights a week and my milk seems to have decreased quite a lot just from those 3 nights of no feeds.
Feeling a tad sad but we will make it to a year and maybe have to give up after that as I will need to work a bit more.
He is also waking a lot at night and crying and crying. I really hope he settles down soon. We were in a bit of a routine before that.
I tried for the first time to let him cry by himself and see if he settled (mind you no DH home and DS1 was vomiting and had a fever so I couldn't leave him) over an hour he cried for. Most stressful night of my life!!

Hi everyone. Just popping in quickly - will try and get back later.
Re. the feeding thing - Toby has vomited a couple of times from food getting stuck. I personally don't feel like pushing foods that are making him vomit. That says to me he's not ready for it. It's horrible for him - I can see him panicking before he vomits and he ends up with watery eyes and a running nose :shakehead: So we're having a mixture of mush and finger foods, but most of what actually goes down is mush. I'm confident it's the right thing for him as he's always hanging out for his mush and he's eating quite a lot. He will usually have some finger food while I get his mush ready, and he has sandwiches and fruit for snacks during the day too.
I think all babies are different because my DD ate very little and was a real finger food girl (had never heard of Baby Led Solids then) and she was content with the small amount of food that got down. Sounds like Sophie, LJ! DD hated being spoon fed too.
Congratulations to all the babies that are learning new tricks :clap: It's amazing how quickly all these milestones are coming around!
Toby's got the waving thing happening. It's so cute!! He's still rocking on all fours but no crawling yet. He loves to stand up and I'm hoping he's not going to want to skip the crawling thing as it's so important for building pathways in the brain.

Jandals - Maybe the eating thing is a boy and girl thing....My son loved mush and ate and ate and ate copious amounts of it!!! Sophie not interested at all so had no choice but jump to finger foods. However, she is a quick vomitter if something gags....she started on solids like this and will often do it while trying not to swallow medicine!! My son didn't do that at all!!!! So, I agree, they are all so different!!
Deedles - Poor Lenny and poor u!! What a shocker of a night all on your own...my sympathies to you....it can all go pear shaped so quickly!! My son did the teething all at once thing. He started at 16 weeks and had 6 teeth in 2 months. He had all the current teeth he has now by 9mths and he is now 30mths. On the other hand - Soph still has no teeth but she has just started to get those little indentations in her gum that appear just before the teeth cut through. She was moody last week!!
Shell - It must be a girl thing with the tanties!!! Soph is also very determined by nature...she should be a treat when she is 15!!!!

It is a real challenge at the minute letting Soph move, keeping an eye on her and keeping an eye on 30mth old (who is a boy who tries to be gentle but doesn't always pull it off!). All I know is that Soph is going to be tough!!!
She has the cup worked out well now...so just starting on 1 formula feed a day now as a transition for work next year...she is still a prolific feeder so I need to start thinking about cutting her back a bit soon!
Soph is generally on three sleeps a day (still catnapping but sometimes having a longer middle of the day sleep). She is breastfeeding 6am, between 9 and ten, then 1pm and 4pm and then bedtime at 6.30. She is having one and sometimes two feeds overnight. So 6 or 7 feeds...What are you bubs doing and what does their day seem like now??
LJ, Robert is having a BF at 7am, 11am, 3pm, 7pm then one or two overnight. Added to that he has breaky at 6.30, lunch around 12ish, dinner at 6.30pm. He was having daytime sleeps between 9 and 11am, then another one between 1 and 3pm. He also has a nap on the way home - which usually takes about 35 minutes.
The past few days though he's been sleeping later and I'm in two minds about whether to go with the flow (put it this way, its 4.10pm and he's still asleep!!) or to ask the childcare centre to make sure he naps at the times he was or to wait another few weeks then move onto the babybliss 9-12 month routine. I don't know!!! ARGH! There is just so much conflicting advice out there it does my head in!
Cass - I remember with Will that it was always an atrocious month or so as they drop a sleep - as you never quite know what a day will be a some days they have three sleeps and some days two....then they get into a great routine....then they drop from two to one sleeps and you go through the same process!! I guess you just have to go with the flow!! It's great he sleeps that much....poor Soph is still a catnapper!!! ARG!!!! Thanks for information re feeds - I really need to stretch Soph out a bit! Today she has fed at 6.30am, then 9.30 (pushed it earlier as we were going out), then when she woke up at 1pm, then I will probably feed her around 4pm, the when she goes to bed. She is impossible to feed on the go these days - as she wants to see what is going on and it makes it a very messy affair! So I try to feed her before I go somewhere. She is basically having another feed per day than Robert....have a think about it!!
Well last night was just…..ARGH!!.... I think Robert is cutting another tooth (please let it be that!). He got himself so worked up that the only thing that I could do right was to shove a boob in his mouth. I tried walking, rocking, patting, singing – just leaving – but nothing was going to work. This morning he was off his food which was what he did last time. On the other hand when he was happy and playing on the floor this morning, we were practicing some more waving hello. He’s so cute, he just gets so excited, I said yay – clap your hands and he looks at his hands, puts them together, then smiles and wriggles his whole body like he’s just done the most clever thing in the world! Ah, too cute and makes you forget (temporarily) that you’ve been up and down all night.

Sorry I have been so quiet, I missed the emails somehow. Sounds as though we have a few babies getting teeth at the same time. Tobi is getting two top teeth, touch wood he hasn't been too grumpy but the poos...stinkaroo! He hasn't developed the stranger awareness yet which makes my life easier cause I can pass him off to anyone.
He is a real joy, so happy and playful, loves to make people laugh. He sits but no for any length of time, rolls everywhere and is very close to crawling. Loves having weight on his feet but not pulling himself up to stand. I try and savour every moment as he is our last bubs.
He has a bottle and solids every 4 hours starting from 6.30am then goes to bed 8pm at the latest. Still has 3 sleeps but is almost ready to drop one. He is now 8.3kgs and 70.5cm. The Osteo and solids have really made a huge difference to his reflux, he is like any other baby now, big relief!
I have started doing meal replacement to lose weight and have lost about 6 kgs in just under 4 weeks. I want my kids to have a fit and healthy mum and with two boys and an energetic girl, I am going to need all the energy I can get! I still have a long way to go but this is the first time that I have felt it is acheivable.
Other than that, life has been quite busy, a few dramas, but that is almost "normal" for us, it seems. Sounds like everyone is doing a fantastic job looking after your little cherubs.

Well Lenny has 5 teeth now and 3 on their way! Very grumpy at times but doing pretty well considering.
We started giving him a bottle a few weeks ago and he already can hold the bottle and feed himself, so a lot easier for me lol.
He is finally sitting up but will still fall on occasions. Crawling is very close. He has the army crawl and got up on his knees yesterday.
I went to the loo and when I got out he was about 3 meters from where I left him so he is on the move..ahhhh
I also have to watch out now for all the little bits of play doh, leggo bits, broken toy bits as Len loves to put them in his mouth!
I forgot about those days.
With the food, he loves the finger food now more than the mooshy food. Have a hard time getting him to eat anything now. I brought a couple of those baby foods in a pouch and he loves those as he can hold them and suck on it. I never really used them for DS1 but they are great if your stuck for time!
Oh Commander Chakotay - you're a worry for your mummy!!! I hope you get your iron levels up and don't have to have a blood transfusion. Take care little man and God bless!!

Our update - No teeth!! Bottom teeth v v v close!!
In the last week we have had lots of changes. Soph is clapping now too Robert!!! Still not crawling on hands and knees, rocking back and forth and taken 2 steps (if that's what you call it) then reverted to commando crawling (at quite a pace all over the house now). Soph is also pulling herself to a stand on the couches and walks when you hold her hands. She is so tiny....I am really a bit sad about it. My son didn't do anything like this till he was about ten months....where's my little little baby???
Cass - I have been feeding more like you in the last week (had a good look at the babybliss routines again) and have started Soph on a cup of formula a day. So she is having four feeds in the day and 1 overnight. I am trying to get her feeds down in the day as I have to go back to work in January and want to her to be happily drinking a formula feed in the day and I will still breastfeed morning and night - well that is the plan.
I have also moved to two sleeps per day and she is sleeping a lot longer and is waking less in the early evening. She is still absolutely shocking overnight but we a have a good night sometimes too. I will just keep working on it.
She is such a happy baby - and a very very determined little girl. Let's hope she slows down a little!!!

oh help, I dont know what to do :(
Lacie is at childcare 2 days per week and until recently all was ok. About 6 weeks ago she developed a nasty nappy rash which needed medicated cream to clear it up. Then she caught gastro so we had 10 days of explosive poos and vomiting. And now, for the last 3 weeks I have sent her to daycare rash free and on Monday afternoons she comes home a right mess. Last week she came home with 2 bleeding sores on her bottom which took days to fix, I sent her off this morning with a clear bottom and this afternoon her entire groin and bottom are an angry red rash again!
How can it be so bad after 1 day of care?? I just dont understand. I have her the other days and she is fine, but after 1 day with them she's in pain with broken skin and bleeding sores. Do you think they are leaving her in wet nappies? or could she be allergic to their wipes or something? I assumed all their wipes etc would be hypoallergenic but maybe not. they wear gloves to change nappies so maybe they are latex? I know she is allergic to medical tape adhesives but maybe latex is an issue too.
Its breaking my heart to see her coming home everyday injured and in pain, and it must be so uncomfortable for her. she gets really miserable every time it happens, which is understandable.
I just dont know what to do from here. The director is a ditz so I'm not sure if talking to her will help. i cant get her into any other centres as no one has a place, and also Lacie loves the carers there. Any advice?

Oh Roxxie I know that you said you cant talk to the director but I think the only thing you can do is talk to her daycare carers yourself. Just ask them wether they have noticed Lacie crying when they wipe her bottom and if she does if they have noticed its when they wipe her or where the gloves have touched.
Just let them know you are concerned about what things may be setting it off.
I talk to DS1's 2 teachers every time I pick them up but never talk to the director. Maybe just chat to them in a friendly way as if your not trying to suggest that they are in the wrong.
I tried that when DS was having troubles and crying every night before hand as he didn't want to go. I asked them if there was anything I should know and if he is getting along with the other kids. Her reply was, "is there anything going on at home we should know about", so ummm I was not happy about that question at all!
Why would he cry about going to daycare if he was having trouble at home, I think it would be the other way.
Anyway, if Lacie loves the carers and you like them too it's worth while just to ask a few questions.
Roxie that's awful. Does Lacie wear nappies that the centre provides? Could she be allergic? Also at Robert's daycare they write in the book whenever he gets his nappy changed and whether or not it was soiled or just wet.
Thanks Deedles, yeah I will have a chat to them tomorrow when I pick her up. The only thing I can think of is that she's allergic to something. They are a big centre with a good reputation so surely they wouldn't be neglectful at all. Fingers crossed anyway! I hope they are more helpful than the ones you experienced, lol.
Cass - we provide her nappies, but they provide the wipes. They don't put any creams on unless you tell them every morning to put zinc cream on at every nappy change, and sometimes DF forgets to tell them so she goes without cream when the rash is starting and I guess that would make it worse. They do keep a record of nappy changes but you have to ask to see it, and they are usually flat out busy when I get there to pick her up.
Good luck and sending you hugs and support. It's hard enough putting our Bubs in care, it doesn't make it any easier when things aren't so perfect. I hope you find out what isn't liking her delicate little bottom. I agree with Deedles, you should speak with them. Actually they should make the time to speak to you. Hope it goes well. Cass X
