My SIL was told by her OB that she would have to have a c-section because of her age. She's 40. First baby, no health issues for her and baby looks perfect at 16 week scan. They got pg via icsi ivf (2nd cycle) due to my bro having a vasectomy. Is that a standard call? I thought she would have an option for a natural birth.
That's funny! I'm sure she's not wonky at all! I was told that Robert wasn't getting enough food and they wanted him back for another weigh-in. I didn't bother and in the last 4 weeks he's been putting on (a little bit of) weight and gotten interested in food again. A thought....... how would you stop her from crawling???:

I know I read that too Cass. I love lil bubba's but I am not ready to have another one for a couple of years, at least till the bigger DS is at school.
I will just live through all my friends who are having bubs.
We are going great here. It's like Lenny is nearly as big as his bro. They are eating all the same food with us at dinner and he is crawling and standing up walking things around.
He says mumma and Dad. Sooo happy all the time.
He still sleeps in our bed for most of the night but I LOVE that. I feel like he is growing up lightning fast.
Our bubs are 10 months old!!!! Closer to 1 than a newborn.
I have seen a vid of Lacie crawling and she is a pro! Have you seen the CHN since that appointment?

Anyway, I am back and hopefully adding to the thread more often!
Been great sitting here reading up on everything.
Hope you all had a lovely first Christmas with your bubs and a wonderful New Year.
Christmas was busy for us, as along with it being Willow's first Christmas, we decided to host Christmas Lunch. Yeah, never again.
New Years was quiet, just a bottle of bubbly and we watched the Sydney fireworks on TV. Willow slept the whole time.
Willow is a maniac crawler, and since Christmas cruises the furniture and I don't think we will be long off walking.
We've conceeded defeat and put up a couple of baby gates, so Willow has full fun of the loungeroom (and spreads out her toys) and it's a baby proofed area. The rest of the house is not so baby proofed, but OK for short spurts of time. I really regret taking the door off our 'study' ... it's full of computer cables, the vaccuum and ironing board ... all fun playthings to a baby!
Finding it hard to get a lot done during the day, Will appears to want my attention ALL THE TIME. And I don't even have to be amusing her, she amuses herself quite well, but she just wants me there in the room with her. Oh well, I head back to work in February, so I should just treasure this nice playtime with her, bugger the cleaning and cooking. Only going back to work 2 days a week, but am still dreading leaving her!

Hello all....I hope everyone is okay and not flood affected!!
It has been a strange xmas with constant rainy weather here...started back at work today - only a couple of hours...but back to 5 days a fortnight by end of week..big shock to the system.
Thrilled - Soph is on two days sleeps at around ten and two but she only sleeps for 30mins each sleep. Don't know about height and weight....last I weighed her she was around 8kg but that was ages ago. She has her two bottom teeth.
Cass - Soph's appetite all of sudden increased dramatically about 1 month ago too...it is like she all of a sudden really got into food...and now she sits in the highchair and feeds herself no fuss...it is bliss!!! She eats every two hours at the minute.
To get ready for work, Soph is having formula in the day night and I am still breastfeeding morning, night and around 2am.
Her routine is roughly:
6am wake and breakfast
7am BF
9am morning tea
10ish sleep
11am lunch
1 pm lunch number 2
2pm sleep
3pm afternoon tea
5pm dinner
6pm shower
6.30 bf then sleep.
We are still co-sleeping here....but she is waking more like 3 or 4 times a night at the minute instead of 8!!!
No walking here yet...walking pushing everything around including the dining chairs. Standing alone for a while and started climbing onto bikes, into the big car etc.
She shakes her head no to answer questions like wanting more food...she points at planes, waves, claps and blows kisses.
Shell - Soph says the Mum, Dad words - as well as num for food, Gemma our dog, hello, baby for her doll (which she loves!!!) and that's it so far.
Damn Aunt Flo!!! She came to visit today - first time since we went onto IVF. It feels like forever.
I hear ya Cass. I got mine for the first time last week and I swear I thought I was bleeding out it was that bad!!! :o (sorry TMI)
Oh well I did have a decent break I guess.
Don't apologise for TMI!! I was just about to ask what is normal..... I'm bleeding like a stuck pig!!!!! I haven't been game to walk around too much as I'm at work - I swear everytime I stand, it's just arrrrrrrgh!:
my visits from AF have been awful, the worst ever. The first couple of times the pain got so bad it was like being in early labour again. Would take my breath away and leave me doubled over. And yeah, very heavy flow. They are calming down now though thankfully! I figure the way to think about it is that the last time our uteruses (uterusi?? lol) had to make that sort of movement was while giving birth so they are probably going to be a bit full on for a while :)
I did get fairly heavy periods anyway but this was was unreal.
Changing super tampons and pads every hour!!! And dont get me started about the overnight changes, I was honestly contemplating using one of Peppars nappies :o
Didnt really have much pain though Roxxie, thank goodness. If im gonna have labour pains I want a baby at the end of it thanks :p

Cant beleieve there has been discussions happening and I didnt get a notification until a few days ago ... how odd!
Ciaran is a super crawler, furniture climber, furniture cruiser and is preparing to walk with heaps of standing and pushing stuff around while on his feet.
No words yet (not that im overly encouraging it much) but can wave, blow kisses, shake his head, plays chasey games - so much interaction eh!
He still weighs 9.5kg (no weight gain in months now as he is still trimming up with all the crawling and climbing, but is looking healthy, happy and has 6 teeth (my gosh)
I cant believe he is approaching 1yr old in under 2 months... wow.
Re sleep he is only having 1/2 feeds a night and still in our bed. Having some challenges getting him to sleep during the day for 2/3 sleeps so have recently started Aware Parenting and that seems to help some days. Hopefully after a few weeks it will show some tangible results - he is a shocker at resisting sleep and distracts himself with anything (a single noise, stuff to look at etc)
Food is going slowly here - with baby led weaning it commonly takes up to 14mths till they get really into food - and Ciaran hasnt been hugely intersted (just likes to play with stuff alot).
Seems simular to what i briefly read of your bubs too - happy to explore on his own but if we disappear out of the room he often gets upset when he cant see us.
I am now preparing to return to my old work part-time in 2 months. Initially i freaked out about it all but am just making arrangements now. Cant say im looking forward to it much but hey sometimes ya just need the money :(

And Oct/Nov/Dec was hell here for sleep too as he cut 4 more teeth - wish id been online with you all then knowing it wasnt just me feeling frustrated from bugger all sleep!
I ended up using tampons and pads (I needed back up) and changing every hour!! I also considered using one of Robert's nappies :ROFL: just walking was a nightmare. Thank goodness it's over. Fingers crossed it's not as bad next time!
I'm off to get my hair done (gotta love having a hairdresser at work!).

Had Willow weighed and measured today ... she's 78cm long and 9.04kg.
The clinic sister said that's average for weight but on the upper end (97th percentile) for length. Although Willow has always measured in the upper end for length so it's not a big suprise or reason for concern. Perhaps she is going to be tall (neither me or DH are particularly tall).
It does however make Willow look rather lean, all my friends babies are starting to look like little roly poly chubby babies whereas Willow just looks tall and thin. She eats really well, so obviously all the good nutrients in her food is helping her stretch and stretch!!!
DH and I are about to start trying for another baby ... I know they will be close (19-20 months apart), but I like the idea of getting all this hard and uncertain newborn stage out of the way soonish so we get on to the fun and more communicative toddler stage!!
Any tips or advice ladies?

Thrilled, go for it! How exciting. My 2 are exactly 2 years apart and man, they are the best lil friends ever. They, well the big DS sometimes gets a bit grumpy with Lenny playing with all his toys but he is getting there. I can't wait to try for our third, maybe a pink bundle but blue is awesome too he he!
It's a bit hard being pregnant towards the end with a toddler as you want to still give them cuddles and play with them and with a bump is a bit hard.

I got AF back when Lenny was 4 months old. They are horrible for me and haven't gotten any better. They only last for 4 days but they are super heavy!
Well Lenny is walking around with walker and climbing up on lounges and today I found him at the top of our steps eeeep. Baby proofing is a bit hard with an older DS also, he is always leaving bits and pieces for Lenny to eat.
He is up to teeth 9 & 10 but they are taking their time. Not too sure how much he weighs as we haven't been to the doctor for a while but I am taking him in next week as he has a large lump behind his ear that is getting bigger, it's quite hard and not sure what it could be at all??
Oh and sleep, lets not go there! Musical beds here and not much sleeping going on. Though I am happy as I love cuddles with Lenny even if DH ends up sleeping in DS's bed!

We've been asked a few times if we are going to have any more and well, I just say no, I think that's it but DH has been saying: oh, we still have one little frostie, so maybe... (what?!!!) I'd love another one but I didn't think he was that keen. If we do go ahead it will have to be sooner rather than later and well, I'm getting older!!

Deedles, Robert is just like Lenny.... walking around couches and anything else that he can hold onto - he's also using his activity table as a zimmer frame (too cute!). I haven't had him weighed either for what seems like ages. He looks a healthy size so I'm not too worried about it all. I hope his lump is nothing to worry about. Oh and yes, a pink bundle would be lovely...
Breesa, we have hit and miss with food. Just when I think I'm on a winner, Mr Picky decides that he doesn't want any food. Yesterday for example it was just lots of boob, but then again it was quite hot so maybe he was just extra thirsty. Other days though he attacks his food with gusto. I just go with it and if we have a "nothing but milk" day then I'm okay with that too. Goodluck with returning to work!
Robert still has two sleeps a day - morning and afternoon. They are both at least 1 & half hours long too. Night time he's pretty good although he did start waking up twice a night but I think we are slowly going back to once. He was waking around 2 or 3 then not until just after 5.30ish, but over Christmas he started with waking between 9.30-11 and then again around 2-3. The last few days he's been stretching that first wake up call to after 11 so fingers crossed we are going back to one night feed. Oh and can I say how completely over it I am hearing that my bub seems to be the only one waking at night for a feed: I just smile and say, he takes after daddy - he can't go through the night without having something to eat either!
We have a runner, she walks and runs everywhere,she thinks crawling is like so yesterday lol :( Where is my helpless little girl gone?
Hannah is also quite tall and lean looking still doing BLS and BF , i know she is a healthy weight , (havent weighed for a while) but i just know nothing to worry about ..

Bree - What is Aware Parenting? Sophie is also a major challenge with daysleeps now. It is a fight to get her to sleep at the moment and she only sleeps for 2x30mins sleeps. I tried one day sleep but she still only slept for 30min!!! I was starting to worry about Sophie eating and then about 1 month ago she just developed a major appetite. It also coincided with her being able to independently feed herself as she wouldn't have a bar of me helping her. Good luck with returning to work. I have been back at work two weeks with mixed emotions but it has to be done!
Thrilled - My two are 23 months apart. They are great friends and it is amazing...but no one honestly told me how very hard it is managing a toddler and a baby...a hard road. But worth it!!!! Good luck!!!
Deedles - Sophie is a climber like Lenny! She has been going up and down stairs too...but she climbs up on the lounges, chairs, the rocking horse (OMG!!! standing in the saddle the other day), chairs and the other day up the ladder at the park!!!! It is hard baby proofing with a toddler. I just went through all Will's toys and threw or packed away anything not suitable for Sophie too so that I didn't have to think about it. Your house sounds like our house at night....crazy but you do what you have to for sleep. Hope the lump is nothing to worry about.
Cass - Go Robert with his walking!! I always just told everyone we weren't having another after Will as we had such a long hard road to get him, so everyone was blown away when we announced Sophie.

We have a walker here too!!!! Yay Sophie...but naught Sophie...Last Thursday, my second week of work, my hubby texted me and said that Sophie just walked! Can you believe it...I missed it! She is talking about 4 steps and then sitting down on her bottom...very controlled....unlike her brother who walked with no control at all .... so it is much less stressful!! She is sensible with it really...
As I said before she climbs everything!! Loves sitting in her brothers chairs at his table but also standing on them and climbing onto things. She climbs onto bikes and pushes herself...have to watch her with the climbing...
She now says baby, hello, gemma, mum, dad, num (meaning wants food). She waves, blows kisses, claps, high 5s...she loves the chasey games too! She also loves teasing her brother. She also gives the best cuddles and sloppy kisses on the lips. I love watching her with her doll named baby do do by her who she asks for every morning when she wakes up which she gives a big cuddle and kiss!! She has a lovely conversation with her too. So cute!
Went back to work two weeks ago for 5 days a fortnight. But had to work 8 days in the first two weeks so was very tired. Hubby is having two days off a week to look after the kids until Easter and Sophie is older to go to kindy. That makes it alot easier!!!!! Good to be using my brain again...

Thrilled – Wow. Im so not game enough to try for another one yet so good on you! Im thinking 2--3yrs will be nice so we will wait till Ciaran is 2ish at this stage before trying for the next one. I figure it should be a bit easier on me if the first one is a bit older, and couldn’t imagine getting pregnant again now as im about to go back to work. Not to mention, we cant afford another baby (ie time of work for me) yet!!
Cass – Glad to hear im ont the only one still getting solo boob days! Don’t worry Ciaran still feeds at night too although usually once each side is enough.
LJ – Aware Parenting is a bit like attachment parenting but with a focus on allowing them to express ‘energy’ through crying. Says that if a baby is fed and has other needs met they sometimes just need to cry to get rid of energy or frustration. They say you shouldn’t need to put a baby to ‘sleep’ buy by encouraging them to just have a cry (only ever in your arms) they will just settle themselves for sleep once they are done expressing what they need. Its def working as I could spend ages getting him to sleep singing, rocking before. Although some days he is tired but wants to keep playing, but there is def an improvement with what we are doing. Any tips on returning to work??
Ciaran is also full on with his climbing – gets up onto all sorts of dangerous things on occasion (blanket chest at the end of our bed, then up onto the bed - Eeek). I don’t think it will be too much longer before he is walking.
Ciaran is a chatterbox but no prober words yet – anyone else ‘not talking’ yet too? He does mmmm sounds on occasion which I think are building up to a mum but that’s it.
Ive been super flat out working on my business; Ive recently added Fertility Hypnosis to my services and am studying Clinical Hypnotherapy as well as seeing clients 1 day a week. No idea how im going to do much when im back at 'work' 2/3 days ontop of all this; i fear the house will be a total bombsite, but hey what can you do? Money is required to survive these days - such a sad thing really.
How are you all doing re weightloss? Im within a couple of kg of my pre-birth weight but still have bigger boobs so overall am so close to being there now. Hasnt been much of a focus really, but ive been making sure i eat well, eat less meat and more vego meals and get lots of casual exercise over xmas.
Anything new and exciting happening for you mummas?

Hey Bree, I finally got around to checking out that website. How intriguing!!! I never thought for a second that Robert would find it as therapeutic (sp??) as I do to have a good cry! But why wouldn't he?! The other night he was crying and didn't want boob at all (when he normally would). We went into his room and sat in the chair (my lovely new nursing chair that I got for Christmas) and I just held him and gently rocked him without saying anything. Eventally he quietened down and then accepted the offered boob for a drink. He then slept soundly until 5am .... go figure - I was doing the aware thing without knowing it and he had his first (and mine) decent nights sleep!! I'm going back to the website to read some more! :)
Glad to hear that Cas, it is definitley making things easier for us re sleep.
Also with teething - Ciaran will sometimes have a little cry midway thru the night cause his teeth are sore - for just a minute while still asleep as i hold him - then just stop and go back into a deep sleep immediately after. Before I realised this I would offer him boob as i was always 'trying' to settle him, when infact he just need to express his discomfort a bit!. Its quite nice experiencing how it can really work :)
Well I had 1.5 days of work this week (my business stuff) where Grandma was looking after Ciaran, and he seemed to go fine. I actually enjoyed it alot as im doing what i love (Hypnotherapy for couples having issues conceiving or HypoBirthing) so came home feeling happy, fulfilled and eager for cuddles. He was clingy once Im home a bit, but im fine with that after being away all day. Looks like me starting back at work is at the right time and all will be fine with my little man. What a relief!
Hi ladies :) hope you are all doing okay. Just popping in for a quick hello and bit of an announcement - Lacie is going to be a big sister :D Very excited. I'm about 7 weeks pregnant at the moment so it's early days, but all going well. Morning sickness has just kicked in and I'm starting to wonder how on earth I will manage with an 18month old and a newborn but I figure we'll be fine.

I am completely and utterly over teething (plus he has a cold so it's twice as bad). I said to DH last night that we are just going to have to ride it out. There are no routines, no rules, nothing in place at the moment. I just let Robert lead me and hope that we get through it. I had a flash last night of me sitting with Robert on my lap being rocked to sleep ....when he's 12. It made me laugh and I know that it won't go on forever and when the poor wee poppit just wants cuddles from mummy who am I to deny him!
I had my in-laws staying with us for a week and, can I just say, if they left last Sunday it wouldn't have been too soon ....and that's about the nicest thing I can think to say so I'll leave it at that!
No, I can't do that: They are leaving today so finally I won't have to cook, clean and entertain two extra people. Oh they were so loooooooooud!! They turn the telly up really loud so they can hear it and then they talk OVER it!! We went to the Australian War Memorial and while we were watching a show my FIL decided to talk. There was a lady next to us who kept giving the evil eye so I said to DH, if you want to chat how about you both leave. He just stared and me and I said, tell your father to shut-up! Another time I was trying to get Robert to sleep and I mean, honestly, how many times can you possibly walk past a nursery banging doors as you go (Robert's room is at the front of the house and they had their caravan out the front). Then to add insult to injury he opens up the door, shoves his head in and says (in a loud voice) I've just put the kettle on would you like a cuppa?! WTF?!!!! I'm putting the baby to bed. He also woke Robert up the other night because he was looking out the front lounge window (to check on the blasted caravan). He did say, "as soon as I heard the baby I went back to my room" (he laughs - ha-ha-ha-ha!). So I said, oh, so you wake the baby (who isn't sleeping properly) and then go back to your room to bed while I spend the next hour and half trying to get him back to sleep!!
There are about 100 more stories I could tell you but I will most likely sound like a complete cow and typical b***h of a daughter in-law!

Breesa, I just realised that I didn't respond to you about returning to work! My tips are:
- lay out yours and bubs clothes the night before
- make up a stack of sandwiches/rolls and freeze (likewise with muffins, or cake and individually wrap)
- accept that you are going to run late on days when you really don't want to
- go with the flow - you can always try again tomorrow
- make sure the kitchen is tidy and ready to go for breakfast (I usually put out our plates/bowls etc., have everything set out so I can just start breaky)
- get bubs bag ready the night before
- don't apologiese to your co-workers for running late. They can just deal with it! As long as your boss/HR is ok then that's all that matters.
- cut yourself some slack. Something is going to have to give.
After dinner (and bubs is in bed) DH and I usually tidy up the kitchen; put lunches together; get clothes ready; put on the washing; give the place a cursory clean; shower; then slump on the couch before going to bed. In the mornings, the alarm goes off (and after hitting the sleep button 5 or 6 times) I get up and shower while DH puts on my porridge (I have it every morning) and preps bubs breaky. He has a shave and shower while I do my hair and get dressed then the three of us have breaky together. Of course that is an ideal day and 8 times out of 10 it doesn't go accordig to plan! When Robert wakes up before we are ready it all goes to pot and we just do what we can!
Update on the FIL......
We had a call last night:
"We are loving Cowra - would you and the family like to come out on Saturday for the day". Sounds lovely (NOT!!), but we can't do Saturday as DS1 has cadets - hmmm, maybe Sunday.
Then he says - oh good, you can bring our cheeses with you, we left them behind in the fridge!
WTF?!!!!!!!
Damn cheese?! That's all you wanted - at least extend the courtesy of being honest.
I'M NOT GOING TO COWRA AND I'M DEFINITELY NOT BRINGING YOUR CHEESE.
On Sunday, I'm sitting on my back patio and I'm having a bottle of wine and I'm going to eat all the cheese - so NER!

Go Ciaran! Bree - I agree with Cass' tips for getting to work on time. Super organised the night before is the key. I have to leave for work at 7am so it has to run like a machine (which is impossible with two kids under the age of 3!!)

Well - Sophie was 1 yesterday!!!! She had a lovely day...she only ever walks now and has decided to attempt to run after her brother (oh on!!). This is such a phase of rapid development!!! She is attempting to say more words too - bum bum is her newest one (naughty!!), along with cup, up, puppy, hello etc. She loves the "ta"game at the moment too!!
On Monday we had 6 kids over under 3 and Sophie was in the thick of it having a lovely time. She is so excited to be doing what everyone else is. She is a naughty one though!!!
She had her health check too this week - 8.6kg and 71cm in height - I think both around 15th percentile (she is little and was born that way too).
Can't believe it was 1 year ago yesterday she was born - life is crazy!!
Hey LJ. Sophie is just about the same size as Robert - he's 8.55kg and 73.5cm. Our wee little pocket rockets!!!
Like you I also can't believe how quickly the past year has gone. My little baby is 1 today!! Each day just gets better and he fills my heart with so much love that sometimes it's overwhelming. I just love every inch of him. My favourite part of the day with him is nursing him before bed and then just holding him and breathing in his sweet scent as he nods off to sleep.
Hannah is 1 tomorrow !!!!! happy birthday all the little big little bubs

Just popping in to see what's been happening. Tobi had a lovely 1st birthday/ baby dedication on the weekend, it was so nice to be able to catch up with people. We have been crazy busy here as we are trying to start a new business. It is a franchise called Pure Protect which is a mobile hygiene service treating mould, bacteria and viruses. Food grade, very safe and environmentally friendly. It's very exciting. I am going to be the office chick whilst my DH does the applications.
Tobi is walking now, just like his other siblings he started the week before his birthday. He was weighed today and weighed at 9.8kg and 78cm which makes him a bit skinny but he had gastro last week. He is pure joy and has enriched our lives so much over the last 12 months. It changed me so much to be able to give birth to him naturally, I am a much different person since having Tobi. It empowered me to lose weight which I have always struggled with. Currently I have lost 13kgs since giving birth, I am half way to my goal and am planning to ramp it up once we get the business going. Since Christmas have only lost 1kg but at least I haven't put on. Feels great to fit into my old clothes again. Can't wait till I have to buy new ones because the old one are far too big. Don't know about you, but why is it always you BB that shrink first? I mean, mine needed to shrink but i hope I have something left when I reach my goal, lol.

It's been just over two weeks since Robert self-weaned and well.... :redface: my sex-drive has gone into over-drive!!
Has anyone else experienced this? I mean, I'm not really complaining (well except for last night when DH was too tired BRAHAHAHA!!! :ROFL: That's a turnaround for the books!!)

My goodness ... the last time I posted in here I was talking about starting to try for a second bub ... how things have changed!
Willow turned one on March 11.
Admitted to hospital on March 16, discharged and then readmitted on March 19 - 22 ... all for treatment for a severe gastro bug.
We are walking, running and tantruming ...
And now DH and I are contemplating having an only child.
Or at the very least, a much bigger break between kids then we first thought.
Willow is just so demanding of time and attention, it's hard to imagine where I would find time to spend with another bub - well, at least at this stage anyway.
I was chatting to a friend of mine, at her son's 2nd Birthday party and she agreed that the 10-18 month age group is a really trying time.
Willow can do so much, walk/run/grasp/lift/tackle stairs ... but there is so much she doesn't understand, like danger, height, deepth perception. So 'Helicopter Mum' has to be around at all times to check she's not going to break an arm or leg.
What is everyone's toddler like on food?
Willow is ok with some lumpy stuff, but we struggle most days with cut up fruit - she treats the pieces like a toy (squishes them or throws them around the table). We have great success with sultanas, she will eat up to a box of them (the small, snack size boxes) but that's about it for finger food fruit. If I want her to eat more fruit it has to be mashed.

Oh I am loving still have a bit of booby time with the cheeky man still. Mainly at night but I still love it. It is nearly time to give the boob up but I am hoping it is a nice transition like Robert Cass.
Lenny has only just started to walk, today in fact! I am not worried if he doesn't fully walk for a while as I know he can do just about everything and he is a clever cookie.
Len is also climbing stairs, lounges, everything really. Follows his big bro everywhere and learns a lot from him actually.
Last night Lenny did the whole shape O ball by himself!! Just from watching Calin do it!
We have started learning baby sign language too. He can do milk/boobie, more and finished. It is very cute.
Food is everything, Lenny eats 24/7 really. though he is still teeny tiny and only weighs 8.8 kg. He hates mashed food except those rafferties pouches. He uses his spoon and makes a huge mess but only likes to feed himself!
This week we have 5 teeth coming through! The molar on his right side is through finally and that caused a lot of pain and no sleep for a week.
His mouth is all lumps and bumps and the occasional bit of blood where the tooth has just cut through the gum.
Other than that he is a happy lil dude.
Thrilled, I am soooo clucky again and would love to have another bub but 2 is enough for me till the big one is in school.
I understand how you feel. You will have another one when/if you feel the time is right.
Oh and I am so a helicopter parent as well!
