Babies Born ~ March 16th-31st 2009 #6

hi y'all

a quick hello, even though i should be writing a paper, that's due next week. (did i mention that i'm studying child development this semester, and writing a paper on the relationship between marketing of food and beverages and childhood obesity - if anyone feels like proof-reading, give me a shout :D)

@jellyfish - not to make light of the fact that your daughter went to see a speech pathologist but sometimes i wonder if my son has speech development problems too. i trust that he is following his own developmental curve and given that he's bilingual, he's not saying a lot in either language (swedish or english)

next week it's DS2's christening, and somehow the guest list has blown out to 100 people. we are a bit skint at the moment, so i have to do the baking (last time we bought cakes).... cross your fingers that i don't put on 10kg after this little exercise. i have been trying different recipes during the past week - dangerous!!

JF - Hi! That’s great that you’ve sorted things out with DP and you guys have settled in well. Good luck with the speech therapy. It’s good that you already have some strategies to help.

PRMG - Yay for trying new foods! We kinda been half hearted with the toilet training. I think it’s a fine line between forcing them to do something they don’t want to do and actively assisting. Some of the cloth nappies aren’t fitting very well anymore and I don’t really want to keep buying disposables so maybe ditching the nappies altogether will work for us. Would have to get DD sleeping in her own bed for that though, I don’t want to wake up in a wet patch. Happy Birthday for next week :hug: fingers crossed that you will have a baby in your arms by your next b’day!

Cheshire - The beanie is gorgeous Mo, can’t wait to see a picture of Bambi in her outfit :) Hopefully not too long now! Did you end up needing to buy much stuff for her after cleaning out the things that got wet in your garage?

just a quick hello to report that the christening went well, it was a lovely day.

i am suffering a little paranoia, maybe you girls can help me with. Before I left Sweden for Australia in December 2009 I was bullied by a mother in my english-speaking mothers group. We were initially friends and everything was fine, then she started gossiping about me and being really *****y. in the end, i left the group and all the people connected to her, which was obviously made easier by moving to Australia. now I am back and the fallout kinda ocntinues. I have never confronted her or mentioned anything to anyone I suspected she was talking to. But I think she has possibly started up again, or at the very least, one of my friends made an alluding comment the other day where i suspect she might have been in contact with the bully.

i just wish this would all go away, and i know at the end of the day, i'm gonna hafta stop ignoring it and start standing up for myself. this is all. (thanks for listening, i just needed to vent)

Tanya - You already know that you need to stand up for yourself. Even if you want to avoid confrontation with this woman you can still clear up what she has been saying about you to your other friends. Sounds like a horrible situation to be in :hug:

How are you feeling Mo? Do you think Bambi is going to come soon? I hope the girls are being good for you and Bambi doesn't make you wait too much longer :)

Hi SP and Kell and JF!

AFM - It's been a busy last few weeks with 2 big assignments due, then this week catching up with people that I hadn't seen for ages because I'd been studying so much. I have my first scan next week, didn't do an early one, hopefully we'll be able to find out whether we're having a boy or girl. DD is being difficult, I'm not sure if it's the terrible two's starting late or the ferocious threes starting early! Day sleeps have been dropped which is the main problem, adjusting the evening routine to get her to bed earlier. Even when she has been awake all day she still doesn't want to go to bed and will tell us that she isn't tired. I went out for dinner the other night and she was still awake at 10pm despite DF's efforts. She has also decided that she doesn't want to wear a nappy but won't wear undies or training pants or sit on the toilet and did a poo in the lounge room yesterday. At least it was solid and easy to clean up, haha.

BA is up - CONGRATULATIONS MO!!!!!!!!!

Yep Bambi is here but still no name.
Had a very quick & intense labour, Bambi had the cord wrapped tightly around her neck & came out blue and not crying.
Worse moment ever, took everything i had & more to not keep pushing when all my body wanted to do was push.
Also lost around 1.5 litres of blood & almost ended up in surgery but thankfully my loss started to slow.
Feeling very sore & my tummy is all bruised & swollen from the PPH.
We are both good now tho & that is all that matters.
We aren't going back for anymore, this labour was so hard on my body & i don't think i'd cope well with another birth like this.

Congratulations again Mo! She is gorgeous! I don't blame you for not wanting to go back for more, sounds like it was a bit scary.

Hope you are enjoying your baby snuggles and resting up and that Maddi has a wonderful b'day :)

Hope you have a speedy recovery, Mo and congrats again. She's absolutely beautiful. If I wasn't clucky enough before! Sheesh!!!!!!

Bambi is doing so well, she is just a dream baby at the moment, i was afraid we wouldn't bond after her birth but if anything it made me much more grateful.

Both older girls are doing well, l'm so bored at home i can't do much as when i over do it my bleeding gets worse & i get some horrible tummy cramps.
The girls have been pretty good about it, which is surprising!

Hope you're starting to get your energy back Mo!

I'm going to take a bit of a break from BB, been spending way too much time on here. Will see how I go, might have to resort to getting banned for a couple of weeks.

Mo, I've been looking at all the pics on FB of her. She is beautiful. Three gorgeous girls, lucky thing!

I am very lucky but i'm sure once they hit their teenage years i wont feel so lucky.
Can you imagine the household with 3 PMSing teenage girls lol

Family are really starting to annoy me, if one more person gives tells us that Phil needs to have the snip before i fall pregnant again i will scream.
Seriously it's no ones business but ours if we have anymore kids & when did it become ok for people to start dictating how many kids a couple should have.
We already decided we wont have anymore & they all know this so why do the feel need to bring it up every bloody time they see us!
