Things are going well here, nothing interesting happening at all.....
Same here Mo :) I have been busy studying, it is taking up alot more time than I thought it would but I am really enjoying it. I might not feel the same in a couple of weeks with a few essays due!
DD has been sleeping in our bed. She has been mucking around too much going to sleep in her room and wants to go back and forth. When DF and I aren't so tired we'll have a bit more patience to sit with her and get her to sleep. We started wearing training pants and it did not go so well. She is a stubborn little thing, I'm going to have to use some reverse psychology I reckon because I know she is ready. She has an answer for everything and is so cheeky, makes us laugh though.
Hope everyone is well!
We're home from our weekend away, so not much going on here. Think DD's going through a growth spurt - she had two slices of toast and two weetbix for breakfast! Unheard of around here!
lol That's K's normal breakfast, the girl can eat!
What size shoes are the little ones wearing? K still wears a size 6. So she'll either have high arches as she gets older or just be short.
LOL, DD is the fussiest eater still. That breakfast is massive for her! We actually got some blueberries and sultanas into her yesterday, we were amazed. Hoping she's going to start trying some new things.
She's a 5 in shoes, but going into 6. So still little feet :)
DD is in size 8 shoes atm. She is destined to have big feet, poor thing. I'm a 10 and my sister is size 11 so it runs in my side of the family, I'm not sure what size DF is though.
Our normal breakfast here is one of those oats sachets, I can't believe how much she loves oats! I normally have toast and she will ask for toast if she's still hungry. I hope the blueberries and sultanas are a turning point for you PRMG.
Maddi is size 10-11, Kodi fits the 6 with room to grow still.
Maddi at 2 was also a size 8, but i know she will be really tall, Kodi i'm still undecided on.
Maddi is still a fussy eater, i'm waiting for the day she will try something new.
Kodi will sit there & have Oats, pancakes, cereal(Special K etc.. we don't eat fruit loops or cocoa pops), weetbix, toast, bacon & eggs etc.. She'll give anything a go.
Maddi will either have weetbix , toasted cheese sand-which or pancakes, it's been that way since she was 1 lol
FW - I hope the food is a turning point too. Yesterday, she asked specifically for blueberries. Might get some strawberries this week and try them too.
She eats weetbix, toast, cruskets, LCMs, sultana bran buds, chicken nuggets, fish fingers, cheese sandwich, rice cakes, rice, mashed potato, sausages and hot chips. Anything else and it's a fight. She'll eat party pies too, and only the other night tried bolognaise sauce again. She's just started to eat jelly with fruit pieces in it. We eat pretty healthy here and I hate that I have to serve up food that isn't so great just to get her to eat something. We've given her what we eat for dinner for ages, she just looks at it, and if there's nothing else, she doesn't eat. It's so frustrating.
Any progress with food PRMG? You know those food faces I think it's a woolies ad, where the kid makes a face out of tomato, cheese, sprouts, etc. Would something like that appeal? Or be fun to make and then just sit there? DD loves strips of cucumber, capsicum and cheese as a snack. Would she try it with a dip or something that has the same novelty factor? I dunno, you've probably tried pretty much everything!
How are you going with names for Bambi Mo? Not long to go now :) Did you go over with the girls or did they come early?
Early 2wks & 1wk Fx crossed i go early again, I'm starting to feel very over it.
Will keep my fingers crossed for you :) It will be horrible if you do go over, especially if you're mentally prepared to go early.
At this very moment if i hit 40wks i'm asking to be induced lol
I'm so very over it, my back is sore all the time, i get no sleep as Kodi is back to co-sleeping, even Maddi is waking up during the night wanting to come into bed.
I know it's because of the baby but it doesn't make it any less annoying.
I'm huge & i hate to think of how much more weight i'll put on over the next few weeks, she's transverse again & it hurt every time she moves & i swear she will be 10lbs she feels pretty big & really long.
Enough from me, hows your pregnancy going?
FW - I made her a face with cherry tomato eyes, cheese nose, and cucumber mouth. She looked at it, said "Happy" and asked to leave the table! LOL! DH is working on happy and sad faces with tomato sauce, and it's sort of working. If she has mashed potato and decides she doesn't want it, he'll do a sauce face on it and then she'll eat it. But if its something she isn't familiar with, she'll just eat the sauce! We'll just keep trying different things. Last night she devoured some cous cous and it had some corn through it. She didn't pick the corn out, so bit of a bonus there!
Mo - I hope Bambi doesn't give you too much more trouble and moves into a position where you're comfortable. The last weeks are rough, I remember that all too well
I made the most of the nice weather yesterday and took DD to the zoo again. She kindly stacked on two tantrums for me. Lovely.
Mo - You definately sound over it! The last 2 months were definitely the worst for me. My pregnancy is going well, got to hear the heartbeat for the first time the other day, not having an early scan with this bub though. I'm 14 weeks this week. I think time is going to fly especially with me studying and having DD to run around after.
PRMG - We have been known to sing the "Try it you'll like if" song from Yo Gabba Gabba at meal times :) It's amazing what a little bit of sauce or gravy can do sometimes. Sounds like a great day out at the zoo, bummer about the tantrums.
Been so busy lately! How is everyone?
So much has been happening, DD is on the path to speech therapy with suspected Speech Dyspraxia. She had a hearing test this morning which went well, she does have waxy ears but can hear perfectly so that's one thing ticked off the list. I was curious how they would test it and when she started with "we will try this test but it usually isn't something they can follow till 4" I was worried but DD followed the instructions perfectly and the tester was suitably impressed, wanted to get out the video to record her to show her students an example so left feeling very chuffed with my cluey little lady, even if she can't express herself orally yet, she can comprehend pretty complex things and she is so expressive physically. She has been getting some new words but as with most children who have SD, they are missing constanants, I'm still impressed as I never even thought she would get this far, let alone before we started the therapy although as her Dad had SD as a child also I've been implemented some of the strategies his Mum was taught to assist him and it seems to be helping. She can now say 'up' completely clearly, I think I almost cry everytime she does it. She also says 'poppa' in its entirety. Then her other words are 'uck' for truck, duck and yuck; 'ock' for sock etc. I'm starting to lose track of all the words she is attempting because she seems to be trying more and more everyday which is what really matters I think, that she keeps trying.
We moved in with DP and have been here almost 2 weeks now. Everyone has settled in so much better than I ever expected and we haven't had any sleep issues etc. She is still in the bedroom with us but sleeps through most nights, if not she just climbs in with us around 4-5am. She also fell asleep without a breastfeed for the first time ever when I was around (does so when she stays with my parents or her Dad's) last week, still can't believe that happened. Her interest in breastfeeding does seem to be fading slightly but her interest in trying new foods has skyrocketed, I'm still shocked at half the things she eats now. I'm still debating whether to slightly encourage weaning because I think it is a bit like now or never (well, not for a while) so there is a bit of a gap before the baby arrives.
I had my first Ob appointment last week too (they said I was such an easy patient only coming in for half the pregnancy haha) and everything is going well; good heart beat and the Ob felt a lot of kicks! This one seems pretty strong, have been feeling movement from the outside for over 3 weeks now! Haven't put on any weight (still hovering around 55kgs) but they didn't seem concerned, I was a little. The Ob was super enthusiastic about my breastfeeding and asked if I was planning to continue, I said I wasn't sure yet and just seeing how it went and she got me some information about tandom feeding, I was impressed. The midwife I saw (it is a private group pracitse of Obs/Midwives) wasn't as much of a fan and said something like "well, the WHO do say 2yrs I suppose" before grilling me about my diet... which made me even more concerned about the weight thing! I remember not really warming to this particular midwife last time although when she saw me in the waiting room she was mentioned how nice it was to see a familiar face, seemed odd she would remember me but maybe she had just looked at my file or something!
What else? Umm think that is mostly all that is going on and thank goodness for this new autosave because my computer crashed right as I was finishing up this post but hooray, all here when I got back :)
Hope everyone is going well, sorry for the long all about me post, time to go back and catch up on everyone else's news
JF nice to hear from you, glad things have improved for you :D
JF - I'm really glad things are going smoothly again with you and DP. Hope your pregnancy continues to go well
DD is starting to come along in leaps and bounds with food, thank goodness. She still isn't eating a lot of different things, but she's trying everything. The blueberries last week were obviously a good sign! We're still working on TT, and I'm trying not to get frustrated with it all. I know if she could just wee once in the potty or toilet, then we'd be right. It's just getting her to do it that first time.
I'm feeling a bit mixed ATM. Yesterday, I cleaned out DD's wardrobe, taking every baby thing out and putting it all in our spare room. I opened a box that I thought had leftover newborn nappies in it, and found her two leg braces and promptly burst into tears. Told myself off, closed the box and put it in the spare room. It's my birthday next week, turning 32. When I had DD, I sort of mentally figured we'd have two by the time I was 32. I know it doesn't mean anything, but it doesn't help the thoughts disappear. I'm feeling mostly positive, keeping smiling and enjoying the warm weather, but I'd like to have that baby bump sometime soon :)
Bambi's coming home outfit is finally complete!
I picked up her pinny & nappy, her beanie is finished & just waiting to be posted.
Now all i need is her but i'm happy to wait a few more weeks till she is full termed baked :D
 MG, i have everything crossed that we will hear a PA from you very soon :)
