That sounds exactly like my son when he was little. Exactly! I read that you can try going in 10 minutes before you know they are going to wake up and try doing things to ease them into the next sleep cycle (like patting or rocking), but it only worked maybe once or twice ever, lol. If it's any consolation he's an amazing sleeper now. He's never once gotten up in the night since he was 19 months old.
I was told by a chiro to definitely not do the one-arm-out-technique. Apparently it's quite bad for their body and posture. It might be ok if you swapped which arm was out each night, but I didn't ask. Kyson liked being swaddled for a long long time, but both the girls were unswaddled from really early on and sleep on their tummy. Tummy sleeping probably helps prevent the startle reflex because their arms can't just fly up in the air. It just depends on if your baby likes sleeping on their tummy, and if you are comfortable letting them do so...
My kids haven't even had a chance to wear the clothes that arrived from PP a couple of days ago and I went online today and bought more, lol. Don't forget to use the discount code if you go online. It gives an extra 25% off everything you buy![]()
