Hey girls,

Just dropping in to say my DD's endoscopy went well. The worst part of it was fasting as she was super hungry and thirsty! The results came back all good - meaning her oesophagus looked great, no evidence of scarring or allergies or reflux. He said that the medication she is on is probably making it look better then it normally would - but it means that it is helping the reflux, even though it feels like it isn't sometimes. He wants to try and wean her off her meds really slowly so she doesn't get a rebound effect and hopefully stay off them for good. I really hope so! They also found her heart and aorta is not "the norm" and this could be causing her issues with reflux as her aorta is sitting very close behind her oesophagus, so we have an appoint next week to discuss this. Hoping its nothing we need to worry bout heart wise, but will request we see a cardiologist anyway for peace of mind!

DS is almost 14 weeks, I can't believe how time flies with a second child. He s 6.4kgs and 60cms - my lil porker, me DD weighed less than this at 6 months! He seems to have finally settled on the neocate formula and the losec is helping his reflux aswell. I wouldn't know myself if I ever have a non-refluxing baby!

Razz, so pleased it went well (and I bet you're even more pleased it's over!). Great news that there's no damage. Good luck with the appointment to check her heart and aorta hon. I can't believe our babies are 14 weeks either! Wonderful that your DS is doing well on the formula, I know you were concerned. Sounds like he's thriving!

Sararose, you must be feeling a bit more human now with the return to a healthy household - and more sleep. Chuckled at the mental image of Miss H grabbing your nose! We don't tend to buy for Christmas until closer to the time either, I'm a notorious Christmas Eve rush shopper but not this year methinks.

Peanutter, lots of poop discussion in our house too.

Evening to the other ladies. My little chickpea and I are bachelorettes tonight, DH is at a gig with pals for his birthday. Am a little jealous, I'm hanging for some icy beers! Had a nice day, starting with an awesome hair cut and head massage while bubs hung out with Dad. She slept the whole time of course, the little monkey. Had family over for DH's cake and am now on the couch in pjs contemplating an early bed time. Wild.

Have started expressing again when W hasn't completely drained both bbs, am building up a nice stash in the freezer. Won't know myself when I can go out for a few hours without baby. Will feel quite strange (but probably good!).

Sararose - glad to hear your household is over the worst of the cold. Nice that your little girls have some playmates so close - we have lots of kids either side of us and across the road, so hopefully in years to come Yves will have some ready company too.

Elocin - Connor's truck looks rad! Maybe he will pop the cats in the back for a spin around the house I know we don't want them to get any older too quickly, but I am sooo looking forward to this Xmas, it will be so much more meaningful and fun with the bubs around. I actually jumped online and got a few things from Target - the Dr Suess collection, baby einstein music table, and one of those silly bobbing penguin ball toys. I decided to pay for delivery, so all I need to do is have some wrapping paper on hand, come Dec 14. Sweeeet.

Nutter - poo is an entirely valid topic! Like my Grandad used to say - if you don't eat, you don't poo, and if you don't poo... well you know the rest. And yeah, he said worse than poo What book are you reading? I am into the 4th Game of Thrones novel, it is such a treat to sneak a few chapters when Yves is asleep.

Good news on DD's endoscopy Razz. Must have been very hard to withhold food from her, you poor mumma. Hoping all goes well next week, and that you get the answers you need to decide on the best course of action.

Buffy, your fringe is Anne Hathaway divine! However, I just need to tell you that your DH's birthday cake gave me nightmares Hehe, just kidding, it was truly spectacular, how did you manage to concoct such a thing? I don't remember that design being in the Australian Women's Weekly cake book! As for expressing, can I ask how much you tend to get from bbs each time? I have been reading about milk storage lately, and from what I gather if you intend to use the milk within 8 days it is best to store in the fridge so as not to destroy the antibodies by freezing, itms. I hate seeing how it separates in the fridge though, it looks all kinds of wrong!

I have been reading volumes and asking people loads of questions because we still have ongoing drama trying to coax Yves back to the bosom. After slamming fenugreek and brewers yeast tablets like m&ms, and eating oats till I bulge, I am now taking Motillium to get my milk flowing. It seems to be having a good effect, and last night I managed to pump 150mls, which is a record. Unfortunately even with the stronger flow, Yves only latches occasionally, so he is only feeding from me once a day at the moment, the rest is bottle. We have put newborn teats on all his bottles to give my poor bbs half a chance of competing, so hopefully he will accept more mumma feeds soon.

Other than that, he is very chirpy and talkative and lots of fun to hang out with. He has slept through every night without waking since 7 weeks old (so approx 11-7.30 am), has reasonable day sleeps, and seems to be growing very long. He is 13 weeks today, and we measured him as 63cm this morning. He is well into the 00's now, so I had to have a wee buying spree on ebay to keep up! If only he wouldn't treat my boobies with such suspicion, things would be really cool.

Or a gro clock? Never too early for one of those, from what I hear

I was recently about to buy a gro clock when I learnt that you shouldn't have any colour light except very soft red or amber in their room when they are trying to sleep. Apparently light (especially white and blue) inhibits the production of melatonin which they need to sleep. Of course, the gro clock has a lovely blue glow to it *sigh*. I read that you can turn the blue light off during the night and just have the daytime yellow sun, but that seemed to sort of defeat the purpose to me, lol. It probably doesn't effect some kids as much as others. We now have a red night light in DD's room, but DS still has a very soft blue night light and he's never had trouble sleeping since we put it in there.

Try as I might, I just can't seem to get rid of the blocked/full feeling on my LHS boobie, in the underneath ducts ...

Have tried feeding, feeding more, expressing before midway and after feeds, hand massage, hand expressing, hot pack, warm facewashers, and getting DH to have a drink.

About to go to bed, and have DH drink some more ... baby is full, and pump isn't getting to the spot ...

Peanutter, saw your post from Tapatalk. I know it sounds odd, but try and have either bubs or DH have a go from underneath you...so you on all fours, and either person lying under you. Try it from all different angles, so head up, head down, left, right etc. When I had mastitis I had the same problem, and this position got the blocked duct I found DH easier because I could tell him what to do and he understood

LCT, sounds like Mr Y is going great guns! He has the best little face I hope operation boobie is a success, but it definitely doesn't sound like Yves is missing out on anything! I am dying for Christmas this year too, it's going to be so much fun!! Nice work on getting things delivered! I'm definitely going to go back and get the Dr Seuss collection!

Buffster, your hair is seriously gorge. I've been contemplating a fringe for months now and seeing how good yours looks is definitely swaying me! I'm loving the pics of Miss W you out on FB too... She looks just like a doll. I hope Her tummy has settled down after the chocolate. I'm dying to eat tomatoes, but am still not game to try it.

Hi to everyone else!!

Well after a disaster with the grobag on Sunday night, last night he was wrapped again and was back to normal with one wake up between 7.30pm and 5.30am. Day sleeps are a bit hit and miss, ranging from 30 mins to 2.5 hours (on the rare occasion) but I don't push naps too hard as he sleeps so well during the first part of the night. If I don't notice his tired signs, he gets a bit upset and then just dozes off wherever he is.

He is growing like a mad thing, weighing in at 7.88kgs at 15 weeks. He's such a little chunker but is just the happiest kid. He rarely cries, usually only when he gets a bit over tired but he crashes very quickly. He has the nickname of Captain Cranky due to his ability to let us know very loudly when we are doing something he doesn't like!

Giggles and huge gummy grins are a normal part of the day now which we all love. He's much more responsive and has just started rubbing my face while is feeding him now, which has reduced me to happy tears on more then one occasion.

Hi everyone! Just wanted to pop in & apologise for my lack of persies. I've been reading but ds turned 3 on sunday & we had his first ever birthday party on saturday. It was fun but a whole lotta work so ive been really busy & was then exhausted for a couple of days in the end it felt a bit like childbirth - people warn you but until you experience it, you really don't understand!!

Okay, once i finally get through all the chores that ignored last week, i'll be back!

Sloane, I bet Mr C had a ball at his party! I hear you on all the work, I didn't want to do one this year but Ash has been talking about 'his party' for the last couple of months, so we didn't really have a choice. Ours is on Sunday, so fingers crossed I can get everything together for it. How did Miss K go with all the action? I'm wondering what I should do with Cooper during the party...

lct it sounds like you are doing an amazing job trying to get Yves back on the boob. They can be stubborn little things can't they? But by the sounds of it you've got a good strategy and will get there. I have to say I am very jealous of your sleep throughs! We're nowhere near sleeping through. It's funny cos DS1 was sleeping through every night from about 10 or 11 weeks, but Coops looks like he's going to be one of those bubs who doesn't for awhile.

Buffy, how was your girls night in? Did your DH have a good night out and a good birthday? Sounds like Miss W and Coops are quite similar. My little man is super unpredictable too. On the tough days I have to remind myself that it's now always like this. It's crazy how a couple of bad days can feel like a couple of week isn't it? I also have a love/hate relationship with the dummy. DS1 never had one, and I kinda feel like I was too quick to give Coop's one, but now we're stuck with it. Like you we rarely use it at night though, so I'm hoping I can at least keep it that way.

Razz, I'm so glad your DD's endoscopy went well. It must be a relief to have it over and done with. It's great news that your little man is doing well on the formula. My heart goes out to you with what you've had to deal with with the reflux. Having had a taste of it with Coop, I can't imagine how difficult it must have been for you with your DD.

Sararose, woo hoo for happy and healthy children who are sleeping well. Must be such a relief for you hun! It sounds like Helena is getting cuter and cuter by the day!

Peanutter, yay for poo's on the potty. You must be super proud! And yes, I hear you on the regular discussion of bowel movements. I never would've thought 3 years ago that I would come to find it such a fascinating topic of discussion myself.

Elocin, you're super organised! I haven't even begun to think about Christmas. I must admit though I usually tend to leave it till December before I start getting organised. This year we're going to be in the US with DH's family for Christmas, so I have no idea how I'm going to coordinate presents and stuff. Has AF showed up? Or was she just teasing you? Connor's weight gains sound great, sounds like you're doing a super job!

Well, as for us, it's been pretty full on round here! We finally got on top of the reflux which has been great and had a good week, only to develop thrush which has now gotten into my milk ducts I'm starting on anti-fungal tablets today, so hopefully that will knock it on the head quickly. Coop's has been really unsettled the last few days which has made life really difficult. I think the thrush in his mouth has been bothering him and also think we're in the midst of the 12 week wonder week to top it off, so fingers crossed it passes soon. It's my big boys birthday on Friday, I can't believe that he is going to be 3! It's all gone so fast! We're having a party for him on Sunday which should hopefully go smoothly (read between the lines - hopefully Cooper will be in a good mood LOL). We've got 12 three year olds coming and about 20 adults so it will be a full house! I'm dreading the clean-up... In other news, we've booked a trip to the US to see DH's family in December. We've decided to stop in LA for a few days and take the boys to Disneyland! I can't wait, DS1 is sure to love it. Hopefully it will make the trip a bit more pleasant this time and at least we'll kind of have a family holiday as well.

lct, Yves is getting more handsome by the second and is quite the character, by the sound of things. Bummer about the boob strike but it may just be a phase and he's obviously thriving. Nice work on the pumping and thanks for the storage tip. The amount I get varies - I tend to express just after a feed if bbs still feel a bit full, and do a few over the course of the day so I end up with a 80-100 ml bag for the fridge/freezer. I can get 100-150 in one sitting (righty) overnight though. I found that pumping between feeds was increasing my supply like crazy and choking poor W with my hardcore letdown, so after feeds seems to work best for the little freezer stockpile.

Elocin, glad things have settled with C's sleeping again. The Grobag will live to see another day! I think you'd look great with a thick fringe, have you had one before? How beautiful that C is rubbing your face during feeds - heart-melting!

Miss E, hoping you're getting some rest and will have a quiet couple of days before things get flat out again with your visitors. How's the thrush? Such a pain, I hate it. How exciting about your trip to the states! Have you been before? We have a couple of times, and got married in Vegas. Disneyland will be a ton of fun, I think Elocin was there last year too. Yep, girls night in was lovely and peaceful thanks.

Hello to everyone else...

Not a great deal to report here, back to at least two wake-ups overnight and my little darling doesn't want to feed to sleep at the mo so I'm missing cuddles! She does go back down pretty quickly though. She's getting so noisy, the apartment is filled with the sweet sounds of screeching and squealing. Also trying to roll more, so we do lots of practicing; and kicks up a storm during bath time. Taking her into work tomorrow for show and tell, but not much else planned for rest of week. Christmas almost sorted - bought a Bat & Wobble Penguin (thanks lct!), wooden train with cute farm animals and a wooden pull-along sheep. Just need some books and beach toys, and we're set.

Miss e - sounds like you've had a tough run lately hope the thrush clears up quickly & it's the ladt time it darkens your door! C's party did go well - he had a great time. K behaved herself - we made it from 10.30-12.30 & actually had it at playgroup so that helped stop ppl hanging around for too long! We had both sets of grandparents so they basically looked after dd for the whole party. If you've expressed then that could come in handy - dd started to get a bit cranky after about 2.5 hours (&shed been there while we set up for about 40mins on top of that). But with everything happening & around 21 kids & 25 adults to look after it was tough to find a minute to feed her.

Buffy - that photo on fb has made me hungry!!! Sounds like miss w is being as cute as ever & that she's resettling ok overnight which is great! (altho i know it'd be better if they slept right through instead!). Enjoy your show & tell tomorrow!

Lct - that's a great way to be i love those moments. Wish i could have bottled some of them to help me deal with a spirited toddler

Having a lovely quiet moment - both kids are asleep. Im being oh so interesting & doing a shopping list & a budget for the next fprtnight....yawn! I did make an appt to get my feral hair cut on saturday morning though so that's an achievement (ive been going to do it for weeks!). K is super chatty. Lots of squeals & gurgles. I just get all mushy - she is such a lovely baby (small amount of bias there!!)

AFM - We've been working on a routine, it has been pretty hit and miss but WOW it is awesome when we get the naps all down pat and things go smoothly. Today is a miss day and DD is just having her first nap now after waking at 8.30. Lately she has been going to bed at 8ish and waking two to three times a night and then up for the day aroud 8ish. She usually only lasts an hour once waking and then she is ready for her morning nap, which can go for 40mins to 3hours. Then there is usually an arvo nap about 4ish for about 40mins. She has slept through a handfull of times a few weeks ago but that glory hasn't made an apperance since. I have been feeding her until she is drowsy and then laying her in her bassinette and sshhhing until she is asleep. We have a 50/50 success fail rate with that one . Our DD is such a serious little poppet... We have only managed to get her giggling a few times despite all my efforts. We get smiles and she loves to have a good chat in the mornings, but mostly she wants to suck her hands or your hands or a toy (I am pretty sure she is teething). It slightly worries me that she is so serious. Stranger Danger has hit aswell, absolutely cracks it if she's not with her Mama & Papa or my Mum. The thing I am marvelling at the most right now is her hands and how skilled she is becoming with them... they also remind me of my own hands which I think is just so cool.

I have been feeling this overwhelming feeling to be pregnant and have another baby. I think it is to try and get the birth and post birth I never had with DD but longed for. I dunno . My outlaws (DH's parents) visited on the weekend and SHE had printed off pictures she took of DD straight after she was born (c-section). When they left I burst into tears at the fact she has those photos and shows people. Those first hours of DD's life was only suppose to be the moments DH and I would share, not half of the family. I can't stand the thought she shows people and sends copies off to family members we don't even know. She wasn't even invited to the hospital but as usual pushed her way in! Aw sorry for the rant not the right spot for this.

I hope your all having a good week so far! I would love to share a photo of my DD and I do have a facebook account but we don't put any photos of her on there, as my DH HATES facebook and worries about her security (DD gets her seriousness from her Papa I think). Bummer

Things are going pretty well here H is sleeping through again most nights. She slept until 7.20 this morning YAY! Altough my bed was wet thanks to leaking BB's! She keeps rolling onto her side but thats as far as she gets, trying to grab anything she can get her hands on. Tummy time is still not much fun but Im not pushing it, she'll be ready for tummy time eventually. Day sleeps have been a bit more difficult although today she had a morning sleep at the park and then went down ok for her arvo sleep, think the fresh air might have helped.

I haven't been game to try the Grobag again! Our house is too cold I think, and he's sleeping so well with his arms wrapped up so I'll just leave it for now.

The face rubbing seems to have been short lived as there is definitely too much else going on to concentrate on mama while feeding! When we are out, I now find it easier to feed him in the ergo while I walk around because if I sit down to feed him, I spend more time with my boob hanging out then I do actually feeding him!

AF didn't end up returning. I think I have a bit of prolapse going on, because I seem to have a LOT of CM on the days when I have forgotten to do my kegels. I get a bit of pain if I sit on the fitball for too long too.

C had his 4 month shots on Friday and I didn't plan anything for the wkd thinking we'd have a bit of a ****ty time, but no. They didn't seem to affect him at all, which is good. He slept through on Saturday night to about 5am which was ok as DH had to get up then for golf anyway.

He is growing perfectly he is off the chart for his weight... Such a little chunker! The Dr said he is very long as well, measuring 66cm long.

I went to Ikea today to get his high chair... How has the time gone so quickly that I'm buying my boy a bluddy high chair already?? Crazy!!

Rosey, I was at your MIL's insensitivity. Such a private moment, not cool for her to share it. Aw, hopefully you'll be able to give your darling girl a sibling soon. I too loved being pregnant but to be honest I'm not in a hurry to do it again. Probably just the one for us. RE: stranger danger, I reckon it might be the age as Willow is very clingy at the moment too. She tracks me around the room even when Dad is holding her. Hopefully the naps get on an even keel soon but don't worry if they don't, every day seems to be different! How are you feeling generally babe? RE: rolling, she can't quite get there on her own but prefers going back to tummy as she loves tummy time and gets cranky when I roll her the other way. Impatient little miss. If you feel comfortable doing so, why don't you join our Facebook group? It's totally fine if you prefer not to share pics, but you might like to chat there...? It's a private group so your posts won't be seen by anyone but us.

Howdy to the other ladies.

AFM: not much new other than the latest FB updates - first tooth starting to move but horror weekend seems to be behind us. Overnight sleeps are still no longer than 3-4 hours, but she's taking both sides so must need it. I keep reminding myself that it won't be forever and I'm thankful that she's (mostly) easy to get down. She's dropped a feed and is so nosey that I try to avoid BF while we're out as she just can't concentrate. Once again the backseat of the car and I are great friends. That sounds terrible LOL, you know what I mean!! No idea what she weighs but she's definitely growing as I've had to pack away the last of the 000s and buy more 00 onesises.

Am loving seeing her cheeky personality unfold. Now when she goes down for day naps she spends 10-15 minutes cooing and chatting to the owl rattle above her bassinet, gets tired, yells for me to put her dummy in and then turns her head away from and toddles off to sleep. Her favourite activities are the rolling game, standing/sitting, dancing in front of the mirror with her unco mum, and watching my hands as I sing Incey Wincey Spider. Tried out the Bumbo yesterday - she's still pretty wobbly but liked looking around. Only just starting to properly grab things and move them to her mouth, other than her fists and fingers - which are permanently in there, covered in drool. She's getting very strong, kicks like crazy in the bath (so much for wind-down time!) so I think she's going to really enjoy swimming lessons in a few months time. Getting a few more giggles, which is like a drug and I can't get enough.

Four-month jabs are next week and I'm dreading them.
