Hi ladies!!!
Thought I'd pop in seens its been so long!!! I don't bother coming in here as I have a lot of you on FB so just keep up on there, but thought I should make the effort to get back in here today.
Hadley is crawling around like crazy and pulling herself up on everything she can. She usually only gets one leg up and keels on the other them will balance there for a while, not yet up on both fett... Thank goodness!!! Not ready for my baby to be any more mobile as yet!
She hasn't yet his 8kgs, but she's still a chubby little bubby, she's so happy. :D
Work - Well as I'm sure you all know by now I run a holiday park so am lucky enough to be able to take my girls with me. Hadley is either in the sling or in the back office of the floor crawling about and playing with toys. We got 2 new staff members in late Oct and last week we lost both of them!!!! Right in the middle of our busy time, thankfully we had someone waiting for a job that has worked here in the past so it's not as bad as it could have been!!! Thankfully our trusty office supervisor is a rock so the added pressure of less staff hasn't fased her one little bit!
Food - I always have mashed veg in the freezer ready to go for dinner time, but have been just giving her what ever we are eating and just have the vegies there as backup if we have naughty or spicy food. You definately don't need teeth to chew through food!!! She has no teeth what so ever but asn't have any probs with anything... Biscuits, chicken stir fri and rice, pasta, shephards pie, toast!
Well I'm sure I've said it before but I am definately ready to go baby making again! I'm getting really nervous as DH is against the idea, but I am in no way finished having babies, I'm hoping to have talked him around by Hadley's 1st birthday so we can start trying in May... See how we go!!!
Hmmmm well thats me! Hope you're all happy and well.
PS I saw MZCatieboo in a thread earlier and she's expecting again!!! How exciting for her!!! hehehe I sent her through a little congrats message! :D
-
Hi Tiff, great to hear from you. H seems to be doing so well. GL with the baby-making, hope you talk DH into it soon. :D
AFM - We've been up a few times last night as B is teething. His top right tooth cut through on Sat, but it didn't bother him til last night. Brave boy, it's a big blood blister type thing.
-
Hi Tiff - great to hear from you, H is such a cutie and good to hear you are all doing so well. GL from me too with the babymaking, I'm holiding off until after November since we are supposed to be going to Bali for my BIL & SIL's wedding and really don't feel like being totally sober or pregnant on our first holiday in ages :D
Jleigh - Poor B teeth are such horrible things, hope they settle for him soon.
ahhhh I've had 3 nightmare nights in a row, but at least last night was only 2 hours wakings starting from when she went to bed at 7 and not the 1.5hours of awake time at 3.30am I had the two nights before. I'm really at a loss as to what is causing it I can't really see or feel any teeth movement and I'm trying all the teething remedies, Hylands tablets, panadol, teething gel and nothing seems to make a difference at night.
My mum suggested giving her some camomille tea before bed, since it's both calming and also good for upset tummies in case that could be a cause.
On a good note, she's eating my cooking lol She approves of my spag bog, roast chicken & veggies and homemade sausage rolls (meat bit only)
Well I'm off to have a shower while she's having her morning nap, even though I'm more inclined to have a nap.
-
Phoenix - You sound exhausted! No suggestions, though I did read that it's around the 9 month mark when bubs sleeping patterns change and they have more control over when they sleep/are awake, so often test it out, lol! Great, thanks! :wall:
Food - B loves my roast chicken and veg too! He had an entire meal of finger food last night for the first time - sliced roast chicken and steamed brocolli, carrot, beans and sweet potato. He also loved my cauliflower cheese and I added tuna to yesterday's, which made it even yummier!
Sleep - B slept through til 12:30, then woke every hour until 2:30, then again at 4:30am for his feed. Not too bad as he went back to sleep within 10 mins each time.
Teeth - The yukky blood blister thingy has gone and the whole of the tooth is poking through. B seems totally unfazed by it though and I haven't even bothered with Hyland's or Panadol (except on Sunday night). What a good boy!
New tricks - B has decided that standing up and holding onto someone/something isn't exciting enough anymore, so he's doing the "look ma, no hands!" trick and standing up by himself for longer and longer. He couldn't do it at all on Friday, on Sunday it was just 2 or 3 seconds but yesterday he was doing it for 10 or 15 seconds at a time! He's also been practising lots of new sounds too.
Baby-making - We are soooo not ready here yet! I think it'll be a while before DH and I have that discussion! :D
-
the last 8 and a bit months have flown!
Miss E is teething badly- we had 2 teeth at 4months (bottom middle) then at xmas she got 3 in 3 days! another at new years, then 2 more this week, so we are up to 7, with number 8 sitting there waiting.
its meant horrible sleep, luckily DH sleeps through and gives her brekkie in the morning, so I get 3 hours sleep then, till its b00b and nap time again.
she loves all food.
we are BLW and the favs are seedless grapes, 1/2 cherry tomatoes, cucumber, roast chicken breast, wholemeal bread, banana, sausages and steak. she chews away at the steak for flavour but will spit it out and grab a new bit to chew :)
she is crawling backwards, but can't seem to go forwards yet. her head is 97th %ile but weight is 50th%ile (7.9kg), so she's top heavy which I think makes it hard to go forwards. height is 97th%ile (78cm)
our latest trick is standing in the bath- so dangerous! she will cruise along the couch/coffee table, but forgets she can't walk alone yet and takes a tumble.
its been hectic!
and on the TTC front, I still have no 'cycle' to track, so not much happening there! I want to drink on my 30th (feb 2012) so if I'm not UTD by march, no trying for the year!
-
Hey girls...just a quick one...who do I email to get my avvie updated?
I STILL haven't got Kaylee in it...though I'll lose it when my RAK from last year expires!!
-
BW - There's an 'Avatar Requests' thread. Just post and someone will reply who can do your avvie for you. I'll lose mine soon too, Boo hoo!
Trish - Woah, so many teeth! That must make life one big toothache for poor Miss E. I'm glad you've worked out some sleeping for you too.
We're doing lots of whole/finger foods too. How do you do grapes, whole or in half? DS doesn't like the skin so DH peels them (yep!) for him. He enjoys bananas in slices better than chunks, and is still getting used to chicken breast slices. Are you and your DH tall? Miss E is a long one - what size clothes does that make her? DS needed 00 for length in onesies way before he needed them in tops and bottoms. Not sure how long he is though, but not super tall or anything.
Hi to everyone else.
-
JLeigh. she will eat whole grapes, her teeth are handy
We are both tall people, Im 178 and DH is 182 (5' 11" and 6' 1") so she is definately following us there!
She is in 0 onsies, but they are getting a bit tight. Two pieces are fine in 000 sometimes, but usually 00s. She is only on the 50th% for weight, so skinny minny fits smaller sizes too still.
Piy that shes so big, we have the wrong seasons in clothes - her 0s and 1s are for winter- so more shopping :lol::lol:
-
Hi everyone!
Have a question -
1. - Does anybody else's baby spit their food out? Elijah is going thru a stage where he is spitting his food at me :( mainly weetbix or egg, blows raspberries, and thinks its hilarious!
Hahaha sorry thought I had more questions, the others are just statements...lol
Elijah has discovered his "boy bits" while showering or bathing....lol. It's rather cute, but it gets a bit red sometimes..lol
He has also started "dancing" when he hears music. He moves the top half of his body while sitting, as he can't stand just yet. He also has 4 teeth so far, the fourth just cut thru yesterday.
As for the TTC - not happening here...yet! I told DH I wanted another one - but not for at least 1-2 years. I am totally enjoying having MY body back....but I am getting on in years....so I don't want to wait too long.....we shall see how that goes tho :)
I hope you are all enjoying your little (or not so little) ones :D
-
Sleepy - B blows raspberries while he's eating and thinks its funny too, but doesn't spit food. He prefers the 'grab the spoon and swat it so that all the food goes flying' technique! Because of this, I am doing a lot more finger foods now. We still do cereal with a little fruit for breakfast, but I also give him banana/apple/pawpaw/pear slices. Lunch has some finger food and usually yoghurt (which he scoffs and doesn't swat away) and dinner is whatever we're having - the more finger food the better. He wastes a lot but enjoys picking it up and can even do peas now with some success!
Bits - B loves playing with his whenever his nappy comes off, so it's a rush to wipe before his hands are in it when he poos! What does everyone call girl/boy bits? DH and I are discussing atm - we think willy, but not sure!
Teeth - I think B's 4th tooth cut through yesterday but he doesn't let me look easily so it's hard to tell.
Tantrums - B has started screeching/groaning noise when he doesn't like something, and usually he waves his arms around too. He's being very possessive with his fave toys, which are pegs and chux cloths (I use them at meal times and change times) so is rarely without one or the other, even in public! He bursts into floods of tears if I try to take it away, which is a pain if it's a used one and he grabs it before I can get it away from him! And no, he won't swap to a clean one without me tricking him!
Sleeping bag - Any ideas where I can buy a (not too $$) summer weight sleeping bag? B's is getting too small and I have looked everywhere. The one he's got was from Big W and is perfect, but they have none and don't know if they're getting any more. I'd say not now as it's all winter stuff coming in.
Anyway, we're off to mum's group soon so better go get ready!
-
JLeigh - We have always called the boy bits "doodles" lol, not sure why....
Eliajh sleeps in a singlet and nappy or slhort sleeve onsie.
No tantrums yet, but I'm waiting....lol. He is getting very clever tho, starting to give me kisses now..so cute :)
-
I found a sleeping bag! And it was on sale!
Sleepy - WE always called it 'doodle' too, but for some reason wanted to change. I like doodle, hmmm, think I should tell DH that doodle it is!! Ta! :D
-
Morning Mummies :)
Trish - wow 7 teeth and 78cm, she is a tall little miss :)
Sleepy - No spitting here but raspberries & spoon flicking are a favourite at mealtimes here too. Since we are living mums & she has a rug in her dining room I've bought a messy mat to put under her high chair so mum doesn't have a coronary everytime A eats lol.
Tantrums - they are starting here but not too badly, mainly when she is tired and had enough.
Well we are off and commando crawling and definately keeping mummy on her toes, since we are living in one room at the moment there isn't anywhere to put the stuff I have stashed under bed, cot etc I've just put more big stuff in front of it all lol. The poor dog is feeling it too A is fascinated with her tail & paws.
I went and saw CAFHS nurse a couple of weeks ago with regard to her crappy sleep and following her advice since DH got home we have had two night of sleeping 8-9hours straight. She has dinner, bath, BF and goes to bed around 7.00-7.30 and I give her a dream feed at 10.30 just before I go to bed and when she was waking during night DH has been getting up to her comforting and putting her back to sleep and the wake ups got more spaced since she realised no comfort b**bs - she wasn't hungry waking coz soon has DH would pick her up she would go straight back to sleep it was more of a comfort/security thing, if she's hungry she goes mental and sucks his arms and shoulders. She's been basically using me for a dummy.
On the other upside her eating has improved and her b**b feeds are so much better now too since she's not snacking 5-6 times a night.
Hope everyone & their bubbas is well.
Nap time here for A which mean shower for me :)
-
Morning All.
Was thinking about all of you and wondering whats been going on with all our little ones.....I know we have facebook, but its nice to come back in here and have a chat.
Elijah has 4 teeth now, almost 6. He has 2 that are sitting right on the gum, waiting to break thru. But they don't seem to be bothering him....
He is sleeping greatly - thru the nights now - and has been for the last few weeks, only waking for those times when he wants his dummy...but goes back to sleep. If I give him a bottle, he doesn't drink it and just wants his dummy, so I stopped giving them to him during the night..and he seems to sleep better. He wakes in the morning, has a bottle, and a bit of a play, then has his morning nap. I then give him breakfast, if he wants it, and some water. Its been rather hot here, or more muggy I should say, and I sometimes forget to give him water, coz he plays with it if its in a cup, but drinks it if its in a bottle..
So how are all of you going with your bubs (or littleones) lol. Anyone trying to concieve again yet? I did a test yesterday, but was negative - thank goodness. I do'nt want another one yet, I want to enjoy my body and life before I give it up again. I am due for my period, and they still not here, so I'm hoping within the next day or so.....
We are making plans to go camping over Easter, so i would love to enjoy that before anything else...lol. Would love to try for a girl, and I have heard many different ways to do so, I was told the other day to take cranberry tablets, apparently that helps.....but who knows...lol
Hope you are all doing well and having fun with your little bubs..... :D
-
Hi to all you lovely mummies!!
Sleepy - I love to read proper updates on here too! Sounds as though E is going great. He certainly sleeps really well. Want Phoebe for a week, send her back to me sleeping? lol
JLeigh - To look in his mouth swing him upside down as a game (if he likes that) Phoebe loves it and laughs and opens her mouth so I can get a good look inside!
Phoenix - Yay on the sleeping back!!
Trish - That is lots of teeth!! Hope she isn't too unsettled for you.
Hi to all other mummies :hello:
We are going well here. We went from having no teeth to getting lots at once. She now has 4 broken through with 2 more nearly there. This happened in a week and a bit too! I had a cranky bubby for a while. She cut her top vampire tooth before even her bottom one!
Food - Phoebe will eat anything. I just put food in front of her and she eats, doesn't matter what it is. She has 3 meals and a couple of snacks every day but will eat whenever I am too. She still hasn't really dropped feeds though!! Just a garbage disposal unit.
Sleep - Better not to go there
Stuff - She took 2 steps yesterday!!! While I don't really want her to walk yet I am very proud. She just let go of the lounge and walked to me. I tried to get her to do it from DH to me last night but she just got too excited and kept lunging but I am sure it wont be long. I think she just wants to chase Tiana. She is only just 9 months though!
Well I better go and do some cleaning while she is down - although it is so hot and I have no AC so would prefer to just sit!! I'm not being a very good housewife lately
-
I'll gladly take Phoebe...hahahah whats another one?
I hear ya on the heat and no air-con :( its soooo humid, but I'm glad we're not in Cairns :(
I have been doing the odd housework tho, getting what needs to be done done..and thats about it really...lol Its too hot to do anything else!
-
Phoenix - So glad to hear A's sleeping has improved so much. A few mum's in my group have the same issue but it's so hard to give advice (even though they ask for it) 'cos none of us have been through the same stuff. I've passed on some info I have and told them the same as your CAFHS nurse! It's great that it's made a difference to her eating too - lots of positives!
Sleepy - You want another one?! I can understand you wanting a girl though.
Marni - Go Phoebe with the walking! I always swing B, but never thought of looking in his mouth at the same time - ta!
AFM - I'd love to try for a girl too. But not yet. I am enjoying B too much atm! And I am enjoying no af still...
B has 3 more teeth just sitting there too, waiting to make an appearance!
B has been trying to take a step the last few days but does one and topples over. He's getting really good at using his walker though and goes around the kitchen table (with help to turn corners!).
We have air-con, but I don't use it all the time. It's on atm as it's so humid, but I still can't be bothered doing more than the basics of housework! :shakehead: I haven't even made the bed today, and didn't do any washing either....
The other news for me is that I had mastitis over the weekend. Fortunately I seem to have got it before it got really bad and the antibiotics have done their thing. Not fun at all.
???Question for everyone??? Do you give bubs bread/toast? What do you put on it? How big/small do you cut it? How much does bub eat for a meal?
Hello to everyone else, hope you're all doing well!
-
JLeigh - Hahaha yeah I actually would like another one. 1 last attempt maybe at having a girl. But we'll see.
Bread/Toast - Yes Elijah does have sandwiches. I haven't tried toast yet, but he either has 2 slices of bread as a sandwich or 1 piece of bread folded in half - depending if he is eating anything else. Today he had a Toy Story yoghurt and 1 slice of bread folded in half with vegemite. I always cut off the crusts, and cut it into about 1cm squares. And give him a few squares on his high chair tray and he feeds himself. He has had vegemite, jam, nutella. He loves them all.
He finally stood holding on tonight for the first time too. Yay. So exciting. But scary too. They're all growing up so fast. :(
Well goodnight everyone, hope you all have a good night sleep! :D
-
Vegemite! I should have thought. I really really really really don't like it at all so would never have thought of it! (Scurries off to hide - very unAustralian of me, I know... :shakehead:) And I didn't want to try jam because of the sugar, but I might try a reduced sugar one. Thanks Sleepy! :D
Well done E for standing!
-
Hi everyone
Sorry I've been MIA but I've had DH home and we've been away camping for a few days with friends and also away down at mum's caravan.....was nice to have a few days just the 3 (4 with my doggy) of us, haven't had that since September and it was starting to take it's toll.
I'm another one that like to read what everyone and their bubs is up to.
Sleepy & Jleigh - wow your little men are growing fast, standing up and taking a couple of steps. We're not even crawling properly yet but we are commandoing it around the house at lightnening speeds, getting into everything we are not supposed to :)
Teeth - Still only two teeth here, thought she was teething the other week but nope nothing, figure they'll show up when they are good and ready
Bread/toast - I give A bread & toast with vegemite, think she prefers the mess it makes to actually eating it.
She is eating pretty much everything and anything now and as of yesterday graduated to two kiddie weetbix for breakfast, fruit & yoghurt for lunch, ravioli & grapes for dinner last night pluss 4-5 bf's a day so certainly can't complain about her appetite now.
Sleep is still OK, the test will be with DH back at work that when she wakes at night and I go to her whether she will settle or want feeding. Last night she woke at 11 had a top up and then went through until just after 5 another feed then slept until 7.30 so really can't complain with that routine it sure as hell beats 1.5hourly!!
They are growing up so quickly and she is really developing cheeky little personality. She loves to mimic what we do, copies me laughing, pulling faces etc.
ahhh someone is a little cranky coz they decided to catnap and not have proper nap.
Hope everyone is well.
-
ok, gotta be quick cause Zen will wake soon I am sure.
Sleep - I am trying to get Zen to have a min 1hr nap tim during the day, it means popping the dummy quickly in and rocking him in his pram (he sleeps in it during the day). so far so good. hoping it helps the night sleeps. Zen wakes every hour or so. I think it is a comfort thing, if I pick him up it is instant quiet. iam going to sleep with his bed sheets and make up his bed then see if the smell helps him. I am perpetually tired so hoping for it to help.
crawl/walking: Zen refuses to attempt to crawl but can almost pull himself up, gets the dirts on real quick with being stuck on his tummy, although I do keep trying it. I cant believe there have been some steps from some babies! wow
Teeth: Zen has 6 now, and a possible 2 more at the bottom. so cute! down side is he has attempted to bite a few times
Feeding: Zen only boob feeds every 5ish hours, including one at night. i give him water through the day
food: Zen gets finger food like carrot sticks and broccoli florets (partially cooked) I give him toast, no crust, cut into soldiers, sandwiches cut into quarters, usually no crust with peanut butter and honey, plain peanut butter, vegemite, promite (YUCK!), nutella etc. he often has a little of whatever we are having for dinner, long as its not to late, or im to lazy in which case he gets raffertys. i dont use the tray to his highchair, I push his highchair right up to the table so he sits like us.
wow...i have run out of stuff to say...hang on, got some more...
food: Zen loves to hit the spoon and send stuff flying, he also blows raspberries just after you put the food in hois mouth.
Dancing: Zen does the upper half wiggle also,so cute.
trying to teach clapping & waving but not yet :( he holds his hand & u can high five him lol
size: Zen is near 9mth and is in 00. he is about 8.7kg and just over 70cm (i am 5'6" & DH is 6'4")
little bundle of awesomeness is awake, gotta go be a mummy now!
Take care, will try to log on soon, got my dads little laptop thing cause i have no net :(
he and mum are byuing me new computer!!
-
Hi everyone!
I did write a big post but it is not here? I have no idea where it went???
Well, Phoebe is one of those walkers! I'm not sure if I have posted that or not but it was a week or two ago now. She is gaining confidence quickly but her best effort is 5 steps. She is a clever chicken.
We eat sandwiches, toast, muffins and crumpets. She usually has vegemite and cream cheese but will also have peanut butter or a little jam. No nutella in my house!! Poor Tiana doesn't even know what it is!! Her fav foods atm are pasta spirals, grated cheese, veges (peas, corn, broccilli, zucchini, roast veg) Anything she can feed herself really. She just eats whatever we are. Oh, she loves fruit toast with butter too.
We now have 5 teeth. 2 bottom middle, 2 top vampire fangs and 1 top front. They all cut in 2 weeks. Was a horrific two weeks though! The other top is just under the gum waiting so I guess it wont be long.
Sleep - Still not great here but we will get there.
Tina - Yay on the nbew laptop!!! and I understand the biting thing. I've missed you on facebook :(
Phoenix - It's lovely that you got time just the 3 of you. We lived with my mum for about 8 months when T was 6 months old and as much as I loved the help and company it was nice to have our own house again. Hopefully A will settle well when it is just you again.
Sleepy - Is he walking along now?? It's funny how we can be so proud of an achievement but dreading the growing up all the same.
JLeigh - Does Bos like sandwiches?
Well the tribe needs bathing, (Phoebe is currently covered in orange texta thanks to Tiana wanting a 'baby tiger'. Thank heavens for washable markers.) There is a photo on fb of her if you want to look. Bloody hell - Tiana has just come out of her room as a maroon tiger!!!!!
-
Hahahah Marni I saw that photo - was it hard to wash off? Its weird coz being on facebook so much I have beenlooking for a "like" button..:roflmao:
Walking - Elijah is walking along the furniture now. Not standing on his own yet...still very wobbly on his feet, but while holding on - he is pretty confident.
Food - E has gone off food at the moment. He is'nt eating much, he might skip breakfast and sometimes lunch, but he will eat dinner. He has gone back to waking once during the night for a bottle now - so maybe he needs that food and I should probably try and make him eat more...lol
Sleeping - As I said, he was sleeping thru, but now he is waking once for a bottle at around midnight, and I think its because he isn't really interested in eating much food for breakfast or lunch. If I give him weetbix or egg, he spits it out and just plays with it...maybe I'll try toast.
Teeth - E has 5 now - with a few sitting just below the gums. So I'm sure the whole eating and sleeping thing is due to that. He is a bit sick atm too, runny nose and feels warm, but that could be teething also...lol
Ok well going to get ready for a day of cleaning and going for a drive to pick up a bike for Cooper and a rug for my floor...great bargains on eBay! Hahahahah We are also having a bbq with DH's boos and her family tonight, so gotta make sure the hosue is clean! Anyway, have a graet day ladies!
-
Hi everyone, hope you all had a great Valentine's Day yesterday and got thoroughly spoiled by your LO's. DH planned to come home early and do a nice dinner and I was doing dessert, but he broke a tooth yesterday morning because of an abcess and we ended up spending the afternoon at the dentist. He's needle phobic and doesn't really like dentist's either, so it's going to mean a general anaesthetic to treat it! Three hours of surgery to fix all his teeth - thank goodness for private health insurance! :o:shakehead:
Food - B enjoyed Vegemite the first couple of times, but really enjoyed the cream cheese I gave him yesterday. He's been eating HEAPS lately. For lunch he had a cream cheese sandwich (one slice of bread) plus three slices of avo, then a yoghurt, then three slices of pie apple. Dinner - a piece of roast pork (sliced, most ended up on the floor), three sticks of carrot, two brocolli florets, two long sticks of zucchini, two beans, 1/2 small roast potato, a piece of roast sweet potato AND then fruit for dessert! For all that, he is starting to show preferences - he had banana and paw paw pieces for breakky yesterday and wouldn't eat the paw paw until I took the banana away! Cheeky monkey!
Walking - B's record is 4 steps unaided, which he's done a few times. He is much more confident to use his pusher/walker on his own now, but has no steering ability whatsoever - cute!
Sleeping - We cut out his 4am bottle last week and now he sleeps from 7ish to 7ish (still waking at 4:30am to be resettled, but I just give him blankie and dummy and go, takes 1 min).
Teeth - No.s 7 and 8 are close. The dentist gave him baby toothpaste yesterday too!
Marni - woah for 5 teeth in 2 weeks! You must be exhausted!
Sleepy - Hope E's appetite improves!
Tina - Thinking of you with the night sleeps and hope they are improving. Hang in there!
Well, that's B awake and babbling away to blankie and giraffe! Better go be a good mummy ;)
-
JLeigh - I hope DH is feeling better! I don't like the dentist either but I don't think I am as bad as him. Phoebe has preferences too. THey change though. One week it was kiwi another grapes. It's like a guessing game to feed her food she wants to eat. I would love to see an updated photo of Bos, are you on facebook or could you update the photo on your ticker? Please?
Sleepy - Phoebe doesn't want much breakfast sometimes either - but generally if I give her something she can feed herself she is happier to eat it. Did Cooper like his bike?
Walking - We are now up to about 8-10 steps and she walks short distances between furniture/ people instead of crawling.
Teeth - Still 5 but the other front one is there but the gum is purple?? Any ideas??
Well I better go feed my children. have a great day!
-
Marni - Purple gums means its bruised, and its just coming thru very slowly - not much can be done I'm afraid. E had one like that too. I think its still sitting just below the gum too, but he now has 3 bottom teeth and 2 top teeth still.
Food - E is getting much better with his eating. Like you said Marni if I give him something he can feed himself, he lvoes it! Been eating 2 vegemite toasts in the morning cut into soldiers...lol, makes a huge mess, but he loves it.
Sleep - E is sleeping better again, think the whole eating brekky and lunch is helping now. He is waking once maybe twice for his dummy, but thats it now, til anywhere between 5-7am. Goes down at around 7-8pm, depending how busy I am and how much he fights it...lol
Walking - E is still holding onto furniture, and kinda walks along it, getting more confident now, hates sitting down, always has to stand now...so crawl to the nearest person/object and holds on and climbs up to standing position. So cute, except when the objecxt he is holding onto isn't sturdy or big enough to hld his weight, (like a fan) then he falls and so does the fan...lol.
JLeigh- I hate the dentist and only go when absolutely necessary! Its like chalk down a blackboard for me too, had a few bad experiencces in the last few years. I hope your DH gets better soon and you hav a great day together! ANd yers - are you on facebook now? Would love to see Bos and how he's grown...
Hope the rest of you had a great day yesteray and got flowers/chocolates or something nice..even a nice massage ;)
DH and I took the kid to Hungry Jacks for dinner....was a family celebration...lol. Maybe next year we can go out alone...hahahaha
-
Hi everyone! I am trying to upload more photos to my album now but my computer seems to have frozen. I will keep trying, so check back. Mummy thinks he's a gorgeous boy so I'm happy to show him off, lol! ;)
-
Hullo Ladies (I know I know....AWOL again)
I'm going to send Kaylee to live with some of you!
She's NEARLY crawling...she gets around, but more pivoting on her tummy, getting up on her knees, launching forward and forgetting to move her arms (she's a bright one...not)
Foodwise, she eats 2 weetbix for brekky, she can have some yogurt now too which is good, so has that for lunch sometimes, and vegies for tea!
She thinks fingerfood is a missile to be thrown with great force, but will eat toast and stuff if I put it in her mouth (thats so not gonna be happening for long!)
She can now have milk on her weetbix too which is great...
Sleepwise, she sleeps from 6pm til about 4am-6am, has a bottle then goes through til 8am...then 9 days out of 10 she stays up til around 12pm and sleeps til 2pm.....She is offered 3 bottles a day (4-6am, 12pm, 6pm) all 180ml, she drinks most of the morning one, not much of the lunch time one, and about 3/4 of the bedtime one.
JLeigh I hear you on the photos...I keep putting more on FB, I'm HOPELESS!!!!
-
Which album JLeigh? If you have facebook why am I not your friend?! And mummies are usually right - they are all gorgeous! :)
BW - She can live with me if she sleeps like that - we certainly don't do that here. Phoebe is walking, so I am sure we can teach her to crawl for you, lol
Sleepy - Thanks for the info, it actually looks a little better today so maybe she bumped her gum and your right that tooth seems to be coming through very slowly.
-
Marni - I meant my BB album. I have created it, but can't upload any photos cos it keeps coming up with 'error'. Grrrrr! B has a swollen gum too. His top two teeth had a red blister thingy on them before they came through so I'd say Phoebe's not far away from getting hers through...
BW - Woah, 2 weetbix is huuuge! B does 2/3 of one, plus fruit. Today he's got leftover bolognaise for lunch plus veges and chicken rissoles for dinner. I find it so much easier now that he pretty much eats what we do. I still have some frozen mash (sweet potato or pumpkin/potato) and a few greens in the freezer on standby cos he seems to prefer his meat mixed with something and spoon fed. I'll see how he goes with the rissoles tonight. Yesterday he ate 1/2 my homemade apricot and sultana muffin too - yummy! How long have you had that ticker photo? It's sooooo cute! ;)
AFM - DH is in day surgery now for his teeth. Mum's coming over to look after B when I pick him up later and give him the required sympathy.
-
Good thing I came in here to have a look, I haven't been getting notifications :(
JLeigh - Hope your DH recovered quickly from his surgery, I'm another that hates dentists and puts it off as long as possible
Teeth - we still only have two!! I'm sure the top ones aren't far away but I've been saying that for nearly two months now lol She looks kind of funny as the bottom two are quite big now and thats all there is.
Crawling - as of a week ago A is finally crawling like a normal baby & sitting herself up, though commando is preferred on the tiles and slate floors - easier on the knees and so much quicker to get herself into mischeif. She is also starting to pull herself up, mainly on me.
Food - we're up to nearly 2 weetbix for brekkie, veggies or fruit & yoghurt for lunch and dinner, some days she eats more than others and I'm finally starting to relax over it all and just go with what she wants - she's still putting on weight and generally happy. She's also another that will eat toast - if I feed it to her :)
Sleep - we have our really good nights & then our disastrous nights, like last night where she woke up nearly every hour on the hour.....she seems to time these nights for when I have to get up for work in the morning. Day naps went haywire for a few days on the discovery of being up to sit up in her cot but seem to be back on track again which makes for a happy mummy.
House is due for handover end of this month and I'm getting so excited, to have space and A in her own room :D I've resigned from my old job as they couldn't find anything for me part-time I had to go back to my old role fulltime with travelling. I've started working with my mum in the family business two mornings a week - A comes with me, I have her portacot set up upstairs and a babygate on office where she plays on the floor when she's awake, I felt really guilty before I started and kept putting it off but it's been a couple of weeks and I now look forward to it.
DH is home tomorrow YAY, which means apart from her 4am feed if she wants one, DH will do the night wake ups.......ahhh the small things that make you happy nowadays - SLEEP!!! Which I probably should be doing, since she is and I should be making the most of it :)
-
Long time no posts everyone!
Phoenix - Yay for DH and night wake ups! That's a huge thing, not a small one. DH is now fine, but keeps biting his tongue where his tooth used to be! You must be so excited about the house .
AFM - Lots has happened since my last post...
*DS is walking! Two days after my last post he just took off and regularly walks from room to room now. He still wobbles and falls over heaps, but usually gets 4-5m, sometimes lots more! Mummy and Daddy are very proud and so is he - he claps himself and waves his arms around to show it! ;)
*DS got his first ever sickness and is recovering from a cold now. :shakehead: So we've had temps, ruined sleep - day and night, runny nose and the usual cold symptoms. Thank goodness for Panadol and Euky Bearub (and cuddles from Daddy - at least he timed it so the worst of it was on the weekend when Daddy could get up to him every 15 mins )
*Tooth no. 7 arrived about 10 days ago.
*And yesterday he decided that he could pull himself up to standing on his own without using me or the furniture! It's very cute, he gets up on one knee like he's going to propose, lol!
*We finally turned the car seat around on the weekend too but haven't tested it yet as B has been too sick to take anywhere. Hopefully today...
Phew, so much happening!
A question for everyone - is anyone else's little cherub turning into a fussy eater? B has become increasingly picky over the past week. He licks the cream cheese off the toast but won't eat the toast, throws anything over he doesn't like (usually carrot, cauli, potato and fruit pieces atm), won't eat foods he normally LOVES (paw paw, banana, rusks), feeds himself with the spoon or won't accept it at all, but eats pretty much anything if it's on a spoon (so, if I dice/mash the veges or fruit, he LOVES them again, grrr!). Please tell me it's just the sickness and not the fussy toddler eating, it's driving me crazy! Meals are taking 45mins to an hour and most of the food ends up on him, the highchair or the floor!
Would love to hear from everyone else, hint, hint!!
-
Well I thought I had better reply after the not so subtle hint from JLeigh! lol We have had a shocking week here. Phoebe came down with a vomiting bug and then I got it too, as you can imagine it was not a very happy household. Luckily it passed quickly and we are all on the mend. :)
Sleep - We had started to make an improvement with John getting up to settle her during the night but with her being sick it has gone totally downhill. But we WILL get back there.
JLeigh - YAY on the walking!!! Phoebe has been waking for a month now. She looks too little to be doing it but like Bos is very proud of her self. She walked backwards on Tues and that was very cute.
Eating - Normally she eats pretty much everything except breakfast cereal. I have no idea why but she just doesn't like it. The MCHN suggested giving her rice pudding for brekky so when she is all better I will try that. She loves her fruit and veg though and pasta!
Teeth - We are still at 5 with 6 still just sitting under the gum. Looks funny cos it is the second front one so she has a gap in the middle of her mouth!
Phoenix - That's fantastic about the house. You will not know what to do with yourself with all the room!
Phoebe is now 8.8kg and 71cm long. She lost weight las month but I will try not to worry about it until next month. I better go find dinner and I hope everyone else doesn't have the adwful heat we do here!

Food: Zen has gone a little fussy at nights, usually when I cheat and use some raffertys or something. he generally has cereal (farex muesli or rice bubbles) or toast for breakfast, fruit for lunch and meat/veg for dinner plus a couple of snacks. He is still so tiny next to other bubs. I havent weighed him for a few weeks, he was just on 8kg a little while ago. will weigha nd measure and post of fb.
Sorry JLeigh: cant reallly help regarding the fussy eating...maybe your just unlucky at the moment? Thank goodness Zen hasnt got to the feeding himself with the spoon or not at all stage! its going to be so so messy.
Phoenix - Yay for the house! I cant wait for ours to be finished but its all money and time.
Teeth - Zen is still at 6 but looks like there are two each side of the bottom ones sitting htere, the gums look all swollen.
Bonds - Good luck everyone for having your bubs picked for the comp.
-
B was 8.6kg at 10 months (last Thursday). Tooth no 8 is now through - I swear they're popping up like weeds here!
The fussy eating seems to have stopped so I can blame it on his cold. He does still do the "I have to feed myself with the spoon" thing but usually only for the last couple of spoonfuls. He gets so excited when the food makes it into his mouth and gives himself a laugh and a clap!
The cold also seems to have passed, though he still gets a runny nose when he cries. And because the cold has settled, the sleeping also seems to be getting back to normal. A few nights of getting up in the night, or taking awhile to settle at night is a shock to the system when you're not used to it! I know, I am spoilt...
GL to all the Bonds babies! DH wanted me to put B in, but I doubt if he was picked that he'd stop crying and clinging long enough to have his photo taken, so there'd be no point!
Marni - Yay for the walking! Everyone says that B looks too small to be walking too. I hope that once Phoebe feels better that the sleep will improve again too. I was surprised that it only took a few nights for B to get back to his usual self.
Tina- Is Zen in the Bonds comp? Can you post a link so I can check him out and vote for him? And same to anyone else whose bubs are in it too.

hi all, ive been reading, but not commenting, too lazy lately.
miss E is 9.5 months now, time has flown, we are planning her birthday party already!
she has 8 teeth, so hopefully we get a break before the next set!
we saw her physio and have been signed off, she is advanced, and the physio wants us to not encourage her (walking tentatively)
she is double jointed like me, so we have to watch her pelvic stability.
she now says mama, daddy, boobie, ta, bye, mau (want), ma-i (dont want), yay, wheeeeeee!
we also read books (she loves them) and we now have one of those balls with the shapes and you put the differnt shapes into thier hole, and pull the ball apart to get the shapes back (if you know what i mean) as shes been hiding things arund the house (keys/shoes/remote)she only just under 9kg, so still underweight, but thats genetic.
she boobs like a champ, but when we move house she will start day sleeps in her own room, and keep cosleeping at night.
is anyone else still waiting for thier cycle to return?

Trish - wow...i see by your ticker you are ttc no 2 already! we are stopping at one. he was a trial to have and we are so happy to just be able to give him all we can. that may change but I doubt it :) My cycle returned when Zen was about 6mths (darn it!!).
Zenith is in the Bonds comp...
Bonds Baby Search 2011 - Zenith John R
it would be so lovely for him to win...validate our belief in him being the cutest thing on two legs lol..but with 52000 babies ntered and only 10 being chosen *shrugs*
I'd love at least one of our bb bubs to get in.
Zen is being a little needy, I think his teeth are hassling him heaps...poor little fella.

Tina we had troubles with DD and I have Sheehans Syndrome, so we might not be able to have more kids, so we arent going to stop trying just in case. Its a moot point anyways as I havent got my cycle back yet. :shakehead:
Miss E is in the Bonds comp too, but I dont hold much hope. WE know how gorgoues they are, thats the main thing haha
