Marni - Oh no poor P is really having a bad run on the bright side once they get the rash Roseola is all over with and the rash should clear in about 48hrs - A had it a few weeks ago but for some reason got an allergic reaction to the virus and her rash lasted a couple of weeks. Thanks for the bed offer, you never know one day you might have a random strangers show up at your door but then you know what we look like from FB.
Will have to keep an eye out for when jet star have their cheap sales, I'm on a buying ban as we have so much still to do the house..........driveway, landscaping, blinds etc but I am due a visit to Brissie it's nearly 4 years since my last one and I've got friends there I used to live/work with when I was on Christmas Island but would so good to get up there and meet you all :D
I think A will be walking in the next few weeks, her dad is home on Wed night so I'm sure he'll have her practicing to make sure she does it while he's home - it's looking pretty good for him to go back to the 2/2 roster, he's really struggling with the 3/3 work wise. He's also applied for another position within the company where he might be home based but fly out to locations around the country a few days at time, so not sure what would be better the regularity of what we have or short notice departures but having him here?
Oh dear I can hear noise that doesn't seem to be re-settling, she's had a bit of a runny nose so think I could be in for a restless night and my vapouriser is still at mums.
Marni - Seriously, P is sick again?! :shakehead: You poor things, it does seem to be never ending for you. I hope T hangs in there and stays well for you... And well done on P finding her nose!
Phoenix - What did you do on Christmas Island? DH was involved in building the detention centre... might have been after you were there though??
Tina - Go Zen! Once he gets his confidence up you won't stop him! As for the stairs, yay for kiddie proofing, not! I am getting a little tired of opening/closing gates and cabinet locks (and we only have 2 gates and 2 cabinet locks so it's really not that often, it just feels like it!). Plus, B can open most drawers now, so he just loves to open them, pull stuff out and leave it strewn over the floor and can create disaster in about 30 seconds (takes me lots longer to tidy it all up!). His latest is the tissues!
Weight gain - B has now put on 500-700g since his b'day (3 weeks ago) :doh: No wonder he's getting heavy to lift and needs new shoes, lol!
Jleigh - so was I :D I lived there for 12 months in 2006, WOW talk about a small world!!
Unfortunately A has discovered the kitchen drawers, and I now spend more time in there putting things back or out of reach than I do cooking lol
I've been slack and I haven't had A weighed in ages, might take her tomorrow if she is feeling any better, she's been visited by the snot monster and seems she's also shared.
Phoebe is well and healthy!!!! I am so excited, she doesn't even have a runny nose!!!! Here's hoping it lasts :) Sorry, but I am just a little excited. It has been a long while since I have had a completely healthy baby here.
Phoenix - Hope both you and A feel better soon. At least you have taught her to share lol!
Jleigh - Wow that's a big weight gain :) He has definately had a growth spurt.
When I had P weighed at her 12 month check she was 9.7kg

Next Friday would be lovely but I am probably going to have to pull out :( I've had a bill come in a bit unexpectedly and because we are going out for my bday the following day I have to do 2 trips into bris on the weekend to get Zen babysat so I dont know that I will have the fuel :(
Its not a definate yet but it looks quite likely that I wont make it. Let me see how I can juggle my finances.

Zen is the tiny one of the group i guess weighing in at a massive 8.14kg at 12mths lol he still has a runny nose but usuallyonly if he has had a little cry. Am ridiculously in <3 with my little man. (as im sure we all are iwth our bundles of awesomeness)
marni, hayley had roseola when she was little to, about same age actually, hope gets better soon,
question, how much milk do your little ones drink, nurse told me now, doesn't matter if she doesn't drink milk or not now as its all meant to come from foods, she said get rid of her bottle and give her a cup and if she drinks half a cup thats great, i have taken her bottles away a few weeks ago anyways and just give her milk in a cup, if im lucky she will have a cup a day, they r barbie sippy type cups from coles, it seemed a little strange to me as when hayley was little they said 600mls a day of dairy, so this can be milk, cheese, yoghurt anything dairy, but i dunno scarlet isn't keen on cheese (although she likes cheese sticks) thanks TINA, cause otherwise i never would have given her them to try since she don't like real cheese. yoghurt only occasionally. She doesn't seem to fuss either without having milk as she likes food more anyways, i was just worried might not be enough calcium for her if she didn't still have at least 2 bottles, as before i took bottle away she still had 200ml, morning and night , but now she don't seem to care. sorry this post rambled on

Traylee - Elijah can skip bottles, can go for ages withoutone, as long as he's having water I'm sure they're ok now...lol. He has been on cows milk for quite some time, and he gets all his nutrients from his food too, so I wouldn't worry too much...
Marni - I'm glad to hear Phoebe is doing good now, hope it stays that way for you for as long as possible :)
E had his needles on Monday afternoon, he has done really well with it all this time - he has slept thru altho woken a few times due to being a bit cold and no blankets, but nothing serious. DH is home with Pluracy (a lung thing) bad asthma and his lung is swollen and it hurts to move/cough and so forth, so thats been fun...lol (not) its been like taking care of a baby..hahahaha altho he has been sleeping alot so thats good....
DH and I are talking about having another one - probably start trying in January next year - as I have big plans for Christmas and the previous months - so I don't want to be preggers for those events ;) I really want to try for a daughter - so we shall see - but with our family history I'll end up with a boy - but thats ok with me :)

Traylee - Phoebe doesn't like milk out of a cup, she prefers me!! I am trying to wean with little success but hopefully I will get there soon. She eats whatever we do really so I will just keep encouraging her to drink milk. She drinks water fine though.
Tina - Zen is little, but that's fine! He is healthy and judging from pics of you, you aren't big. And yes I love my little ones more than anything too!
Sleepy - Another?? How do you afford it? We are considering it, although not as soon as you :) But I really don't know how to make the finances work to have another? It would be nice for you to have a girl!
Well Phoebe is still well, little bit of a snotty nose but it is so cold here that I think it is to be expected. I am so over cleaning and having it trashed in the next second! I would also love some time to myself! And not be hung off. I either have Phoebe wanting to feed (sooo ready to wean) or Tiana climbing all over me. I love them but just need to be left alone for a little while! I would even love to be able to pee in peace!
Ahhh, to pee in peace! No one pointing at your bits and 'ah?'ing (am over explaining that I am doing a wee and that big boys and girls use the toilet, not a nappy!).
Traylee - My whole mum's group is having the whole 'milk out of a cup' issue too! My dr suggested diluting it 1/2 1/2 with water then slowly putting in less milk and that's been working for a few of us. Also, it's all in the cup!! Lots of us mum's found the straw cups heaps better than the sippy cups (B won't drink at all out of a sippy cup) so maybe try that. Also, as you said, as long as they're eating dairy in other forms, they don't need milk as a drink. Does she have milk on her cereal? And also, try Colby cheese, it's really milk and tastes like nothing - I cut it into sticks and B loves it!
Sleepy - Another one? Are you insane??!!! Oops, sorry, what I meant to say was, wow, go girl! ;) Sounds fantastic - and I can totally understand you wanting to try for a girl. My mum had pleuracy a few years ago and she still says it was the most pain she's ever felt. Your poor DH.

Marni - Hopefully Phoebe's clinginess improves as she gets better. I totally get how you feel. I close as many doors as I can to keep the mess contained, and try not to go into those rooms when B is awake, or they end up looking like they've been ransacked!
Phoenix - We've had to move the cling wraps etc so B can't get at them with his drawer opening. But we're running out of high spaces to put stuff, and it's kind of silly having all the drawers empty, lol! Cool that you were involved in the CI detention centre.
scarlet loves water, she has a straw drink bottle she has for water or just a normal pop top one, the milk issues are she has never bene to keen on milk really, but i just worry about bones and stuff, as today she had milk on weetbix like usual, and couple sips of milk thats and a cheese stick lol, she is bit fussy atm, could be cause she is still bit sick, i have thought about putting something in the milk to encourage more milk drinking, think they said if u do that to use aktavite as its better for them, i dunno she drinks so much water threw out the day, she turns her head up at milk, if i try put it in something else to trick her she tastes it and turns her head, she has been having full cows milk since she was 10 months old
oh forgot to add, she has some other straw cups to form woolies, little pink lids with straw, only problem is she loves them had them from 5 months old, but now she thinks it more fun to spit it out all over herself and get all wet, so i have taken them away for now lol
Traylee, just remember they need three serves of calcium a day (1 serve is 1/2 cup milk or a cheese stick). Don't forget it could be yoghurt, custard or a cheese sauce over veges too. Don't stress too much, especially if S is still sick. If she doesn't like the milk, even watered down, just keep giving her a little each day, but don't push it, iykwim.
B went through a spitting phase, now he flicks the straw and water/milk goes everywhere (duck!!)!
Marni - Well we already have a big family - what's one more right? I already have most baby stuff, I budget for most things, use layby, and alot of second hand shops, ebay and garage sales for things I need. I am getting older, so I want to get it over with before I am 35 - I am 32 today...lol, doesn't leave much time..for TTC and actually falling preggers...hahahaha I am an excellent budgeter as well, bargains usually fall into my lap...lol
So if the 10th June suits everyone, we shall make that the date now, I am having a tupperware party on the 11th, so I can also bring some booklets with me if you guys want....
Elijah had a bit of a full on night last night, he spewed his milk (not fresh milk) all thru his bed, and hair and face, and it was discusting :( had a bath at 9pm...mind you, Cooper was on the toilet and needed his bum wiped (he still can't do that himself - altho he tries, he makes it worse)....so was a hectic time of night. He also has a bad rash from the needles last friday, he has been doing super runny poos and gives him a rash if I don't get it straight away :( so it was a struggle to get the zinc cream on him too, he was not impressed because the poor bub was in so much pain :( but he'll be ok.....
Elijah also has a few bottles a day - I'm not too worried about how much milk he drinks, he will drink about3 bottle maybe 4 sometimes, but as long as they are eating their food and having plenty of water - especially in the cold months, I'm sure they'll be fine.
Milk - Zen is still breastfed and he has milk in his sipper cup plus he gets cheese and yoghurt each day, i figure that should be enough calcium.
Meeting - will do my best to make the 10th...stupid work overpaid me and i used it to pay out the last of our mortgage, now they want it back lmao - and i need to find the money to pay them :( seems unfair that I should...well, i guess it is fair but i dont like it.
SLeepy - poor E, hope he is more settled today. Zen had a shocker night also - his other molar is through so its all fun and games here :( fingers crossed you get plenty of that cream on his bum and fix it up!
Tina - That really sucks!! You should be able to set it up to pay them back when you can! Maybe once your tax is back? It isn't fair cause you didn't make the mistake. I hope Zens tooth is through soon

We had another shocker here, maybe Phoebe has teeth coming too. She still only has the 6 teeth she got when she was 8 months. I guess she is due for more! I think I have to start again with the night weaning though lol

i am doing a payment schedule which I know they wont like - it will take me 5 years to pay back lmao...i've offered them $10 week. doesnt sound like much but I am on a really strict budget so it makes a difference. nope - not giving them my tax - thats my fun money :) a girls gotta have something to look forward to!
I'm going with teething Marni - Zen has been realy bad the last two nights also. it must be so horrible for them :(
mmm so im trying to think of places to camp these holidays for a few days, there is a place called paradise dam, its $7 adult and $4 child for 5 to 12 i think, and under 5 is free, or i was thinking tin can bay, or rainbow beach or inskip point, they are all cheap to, beach camping, was thinking of taking our catamaran so can do some sailing round there and have a look.
anyone else been campin in those areas or near them

mmm or i can hire a rental holiday one, they seem cheap enough if u have some extra people to chip in lol, can get places for like $500 a week, suitable up to 7 to 9 people :) anyone wanna come holidaying lol
Tin Can, Rainbow and Inskip are all nice places. I know Inskip gets really busy over Christmas (like shoulder to shoulder with the next tent and a 15 minute line up for the portaloos) but not sure about other times. I really don't like camping, and beach camping I like even less, but they are all lovely areas so if you're into that kind of stuff, go for it. Not sure about places for a catamaran though...
What about Burrum Heads? Our family used to hire a house up there when we were kids.
jleigh, yea burrum heads is just up road for us, we live in hervey bay lol, but yea i am not huge fan of camping either, when i was a kid i liked it, so i want hayley and scarlet to get holidays on the cheap to like camping is, we are over goin down coast to see family as its just a boring down there, im lucky i met tina down there or i would have been more bored,
& it was SO good to catch up - except for those couple of snot monster kids who made ours sick :(:

Well Phoebe is well but I am getting sick. I hate cold weather!! I am another looking forward to the meet up :)
Also I went back to no feeding overnight last night, three and a half hours we were up for with a crying child, well alternating between whinging, screaming and crying. I really hope tonight is better!

Marni - I hope you have a better night sleep tonight..I feel for you, I really do, pretty sure we remeber those nights, and Elijah has been pretty good, apart from being cold coz he kicks the blankets off, he hates the grow bag, coz he can't move in it as well, so I lose either way...
Well glad we moved the date, because I am going to Gladstone this weekend, my sister really needs me, I am driving up on Friday, and coming home on Monday, she is struggling, finding it hard with 5 kids, and a hubby, so I am going up to help out and help organize things for her. Be a councillor too, he and her DP are finding it hard to communicate lately, so sometimes a bit of outside input can make a difference, I hope..lol I'm sure they'll be ok tho.

Weaning - hmmmmm so how do you do it, think I'm ready to drop her morning nap feed, not sure how she will take the news. I was talking to DH the other day about when she'll need to give them up and he reckons another 6 months :o Admittedly I'm not ready to stop just yet, I enjoy my cuddles times before bed with her and she loves them lol
We are still not walking, well she will let go and take a couple of steps so know it's not too far away at least DH has been home to see her first few wobbly ones.

Phoenix - We are down to 2 feeds a day. I would like to wean well about 6 months ago, lol! But Phoebe doesn't like that idea. I just cut out the day feeds and distracted her when she wanted one. Food and water. I offer milk but she wont drink it. And yay on the steps!!! She will be walking before you know it :)

Well, we just dropped our morning feed over the weekend and all is good here! :dance: I was a bit worried cos he really seemed to like it, but all we did was get DH to get him up and dressed and bring him straight out for breakfast, instead of going to the lounge for a feed. I made myself scarce (had a shower) until he'd started breakky and he didn't even notice something was missing until Monday morning when he went into the lounge, pointed at me and pointed at the chair. I just said, "Not now, it's breakfast time" and off he trotted into the kitchen with me! Same thing this morning! Mind you, he's pretty much attacking me at his bedtime feed, lol! :D
Phoenix - How many feeds does DD have? I found it really easy to drop the day feeds, but then again I've fed when DS wakes since around 3 months old, just cos I didn't want him to associate feeding with sleeping. A friend whose DD always bf'ed to sleep went cold turkey from 3 feeds a day over Easter. She was staying with her parents so had heaps of distraction and help but she said it took 2 days and she was going to sleep by herself without much fuss! Her bb's on the other hand took a little longer.... :p
This Friday - :dance: Not long to go now! Yep, I need the address again too.... will probably get there just after 11am. We can bring bubs food, just not ours, right? B is being his usual self - happy, cheeky and like a little sponge! He walked over the kitchen gate without holding on the other day and is getting better at putting his shapes in his sorter and coins in his piggy bank. He's saying more sounds, but nothing anyone else can understand except 'Dat?' and pointing at absolutely everything!!!!
Eating has dropped off a bit - he's eating less and is picky about fruit now. Grapes are the only thing he'll eat every time. Most other fruit is a bite and he'll chuck it, or only with yoghurt or I have to 'hide' it... anyone have any good 'hidden fruit' recipes??!
I am demand feeding with Zen now, so his feeds are all over the place. Unless he goes ape poopy to get to them I dont ever offer. seems to be working, he skips a feed here and there.

I got back from Gladstone yesterday afternoon, and as you can imagine, my house now looks like a bomb hit it....hahaha, plus there is no food, or milk, so I have to go shopping today - which i really don't want to do....am still tired, was a great weekend, ahd so much fun :)
Friday - I am not sure where the place is, I'll have to look it up again...hahaha I have never been there myself, but 'liked' a page on facebook - Log In | Facebook, and it looked like a great place to go - it was a suggestion of theirs lol, so once I find it again I'll let you all know.
My sister is doing ok now, she is just a bit lonely, depressed, and has no family up there. Plus her bub is 12 weeks old now, and I hadn't met her. But now I have and she is such a little cutie :)
JLeigh - I will also be trying for a girl - and have been told about certain diets and timing - but we will see...lol. My sister has 5 girls, so I don't hold out much luck for me..hahahaha

Was just checking out Tiddlywinks for tomorrow and saw this about food...

They said they have heaps of healthy toddler choices and quick finger foods though.
B and I will both be in jeans (and I will have layers and layers of warm clothes on too!). I will be the skinny one with short brownish hair, glasses and looking lost and slightly frazzled! B will have a striped top and probably be crying! Please call out if you see us, otherwise I'll have to hide under a rock somewhere!

The drive is about 1 hr 10mins, so I should be there by just after 11... ;)
Jleigh - how exciting about "not" trying :), we would like a boy next time round as two kidlets is our limit so might have to have a look at the gender swaying stuff too, would be nice to have a pigeon pair. On a good day we are on 4 feeds a day, though this morning she has skipped two feeds without much fuss.
We are trying to break the 4.30-5.30 wake up/feed, so DH went in and pat her bum for a couple of mins and she then slept till nearly 8 which is a miracle. That is her normal brekkie time so we just put her in high chair and gave her weetbix & toast. She made a bit of sook and reaching for me but after eating forgot about it until her morning nap. The one I want to really try and drop is morning nap time one as I can then start to leave her home with DH when I go to work (and he's at home) and if I need to I'm going to look at family day care maybe one morning a week while I work.
Sleepy - Wow 5 girls, I pity her poor DH when they all hit puberty LOL Girls were rare on both sides of our family, especially DH's where he has 3 brothers & 1 sister - his mum now has 4 granddaughters with another one due end of July, so it's up to us or one other brother to produce a grandson on that side.
I finally had A weighed yesterday, she is 9.1kgs and 72.5cm.......sitting on the 25% for both. She is a real little chatterbox and the past couple of weeks has added a few new words she can say dad/daddy, mum/mummy, that, eyes, ears, she calls the dog doodie (Ruby), boobies, baby and points at everything. Her understanding is getting better too and will go and get things when you ask. Just such a little person now :( and not longer my baby.

JLeigh - I have no idea what I will be wearing tomorrow - I will get it ready later I guess..lol. But I did book the table under "Bellybelly" so I will leave the sign on the table, we will be in the toddler section as well, but I have no idea where that is...lol. But I will no doubt be wearing jeans and I have dark purple/burgundy hair, and obviously Elijah is a boy...lol

I bought a mountain bike and got a toddler seat for it a few weeks ago, to try and lose weight, but I haven't used it yet, as I have been super busy and now its cold and rainy.....but I will be trying the bodytrim diet very soon too, hopfully next week :)
