Unfortunately the bone has not healed and will likely move so my little girl is in plaster. Thankfully we didnt need the spica cast. She has it from her bum to her toes. Comes of in 2 weeks. Other than being grumpy and screaming while they cast her leg, she is happy as. Still able to roll around. At lease now her agoo leg warmer fits ;)

As for mine, he is going really well. He has cut his second tooth and handled it really well. I am trying to implement a new food schedule, as I felt I wasn't feeding him enough now that he is starting to move. He started to crawled today but still prefers to stand most of the time.

Our usual routine these days is baby porridge with a squirt of fruit at about 7-730am, a breast feed about 1 hour later. Then about 9ish she has about 1 hour sleep. we then have the rest of the fruit sachet as morning tea. about 1130ish she has a breast feed, then about 1230ish a sachet of savoury, then about 3 she has some fruit in her mesh feeder and about 530 a sachet of savoury. Then about 630 she has a breastfeed and a top up at about 730ish. She still wakes about 2-3 times a night for a feed, sometime not. Mind you i work 3 days a week, and she will not drink anything from anything for anyone all day till i get home.....
Bern I have a similar routine with Jacob :) he also wakes for boob at night. I cosleep though and he's getting to an age where he can find it and sort himself out lol!
Still no teeth! No words!
But we are pulling ourself along the floor really well and love chasing after the cat! Also getting up on our knees and hands and rocking so proper crawling can't be too far away! He can now walk around his activity centre in his exersaucer (sp?) and understands the words kick, splash and bash! lol!
He's had a real growth spurt in the last month, well into 0 now ;)
Just love him to bits!!!! Can't stop kissing his chubby cheeks and giving him big cuddles, getting as much in while I can when he's still little and can't run away! Rofl!

Hey all,
Bree is starting to get herself onto her hands and knees a lot more, well, usually hand and one knee lol, but she is getting there. She also toys with the idea of pulling herself up to stand but just thinking about it at the moment with arms outstretched holding onto things. She can go around in circles while she is on her tummy. Heard the ocassional mum come out, but I think it is totally by accident lol. She knows the dogs name, I ask her where she is and she looks outside. She knows "Tree". Soooo hilarious showing her books, she tries to pick up the pictured objects ROFL. She is getting around the whole house now (in her walker) and often goes looking for my son to play with...
I love catching up with you all and finding out what the littlies are up to... your right BBB, it wont be long before they are completely mobile. Bree already started pushing away when you try to give her a cuddle - little miss independent... She is laughing out loud at the moment, I think she might be getting a sore tummy she is laughing that much, she is playing with my son. Music to my ears after a dreadful couple of weeks.

Seth is doing real well. He now knows how to crawl and gets himself to places he wants to be.... Very determine. He also now standing by himself without holding on for a few seconds. He is teaching himself to balance.. No steps, just loves to stand.
Still trying to get a food routine, just need ideas/advice on what to feed him. I like the ones you have previously suggested but was wondering if ther was anything else.

Here is my feeding routine with the twins, maybe this will give you some ideas...
8am (or at wake up) - Milk Feed
10.30am/11am - Weetbix with formula (Rhys will eat 2 Weetbix and Liam eats 1 1/2. I mix them down to a thick paste, sometimes I will add pureed fruit as well if they don't have fruit as a seperate feed)
Then fruit in the mesh food feeder - Banana, Strawberries, Grapes whatever is in the house
2pm/2.30pm - Vegemite Sandwich with crusts cut off (my boys will eat a whole sandwich ie: 2 slices of bread)
3.30pm/4pm - Milk Feed 1/2 bottle
5.30pm/6pm - Mashed Vegetables ie: Potato, Sweet Potato, Carrots, Broccoli, Cauliflower, Zucchini. If I am making somthing for the rest of us that they can munch on I will also offer that as well, like pasta.
Then dessert, yoghurt, custard or jelly usually
7.30pm/8pm - Milk Bottle
Then bed about 8.30pm and they sleep all night.
I will also offer them Baby Mum Mum Rice Rusks during the day for a snack - they love them - the packet says from 12mths+ but they are fantastic to use once your baby can start 'chewing' as they are crunchy when bitten but will disolve once in the mouth so help with choking/gagging issues. I always have some in my bag as if we are in the car and the boys start getting cranky for food I can give them one of them to get us through until I can feed them.
I am also giving the boys water now, they have it whenever they have a 'solid' feed and also have a water bottle on the floor when they are playing and they will help themselves to it when they are thirsty.
I'm now going to start giving them rice cakes and shredded cheese as well and well steamed vegetables and fruit is always a good one to offer. If you are scared of the choking/gagging them I would say to get the food feeder as they help with baby learning to feed themselves without the big lumps and chunks of food. They are great for me as it means the twins can feed themselves without me being paranoid and when you have 2 to watch at feeding time it makes it a bit easier to manage.

I am wondering of this food feeder you mention Kelly? I'm not fmailiar with this.
I often worry about what I feed Bree and I havent really offered her much home made stuff because she does tend to choke on solid food. I have been sticking to the food that is completely mushed up, pureed. With sticking to this type, I have been quite limited in what I can feed her.
I am amazed that your little ones are eating so well. I think Bree would love to have such variety, but I really worry about the choking factor. I have had her seen by ENT as when she was born her tongue looked about 2-3 sizes too big for her and she would have a lot of choking going on even when she was no where near food... they actually done a barium swallow but of course she didn't have her coughing fit while they were performing the test.
I was amazed today, I could have sworn that Bree said she was off to find mum and dad... not in so many words, but she walked off in her walker and said what sounded like mum, dad. Then I realised why she came to me, she needed her dirty bum cleaned. As I picked her up, I stated that we'll go clean her bum... "yeh" it sounded like she replied... I guess they gotta start somewhere

Gemini - DD2 chokes on food too. I'm still on the purees and I agree it's very limited. I tried fresh stuff with her but she'll only eat pumpkin and carrot and if I stay on that then she'll turn orange lol. She was eating fresh broccoli but she's decided she doesn't like it anymore.
I've found "Rafferty's Garden" is to her liking. She'll eat Hearty Beef and veggie (after initially spitting it out in disgust), Appricot Chicken, Polenta and veggies (I think that's what it is) all the custards Vanilla, Chocolate etc and all the fruit purees.
Gemini: Here is the link to the website to show you what they are - I have the more recent Tommee Tippee Fresh Food Feeder for the boys and it comes with 3 mesh bags (so when they get yucky you can replace them). I got mine from the supermarket in the baby aisle. Tommee Tippee - Feeding, breast feeding etc
Porsche: I was giving the boys Rafferty's Garden sachets to start with but it became too exxy with having 2 to feed. So I went back to doing my own veggies - Potato, Pumpkin, Sweet Potato, Carrott, Broccoli, Cauliflower & Zucchini. I will slow boil them and then with the stick mixer blend them into a puree, I keep a small amount of the cooking water in the potato & sweet potato as they need some liquid. I then put them into ice cube trays and freeze and take out what I need each day. I will always give them 3 different veggies every day, always potato then will alternate the sweet potato, pumpkin & carrot each day and then the broccoli, cauliflower or zucchini. Now they are starting to chew foods I've gone from puree to mash and soon I will just give them well steamed whole veggies to feed themselves.

Are the Rafferty Garden brand the organic jars? I tried the organic and it was just a waste, Bree spat it out and refused to eat it. I found that the pieces were quite larege too. I tried her a few days later on the tin vegies and lamb and now she has a new favourite.
I had tried her on weetbix before, but hadn't given it to her in ages, so when Kelly mentioned it the other day I decided to give it another go. She is still deciding if she likes it or not lol... I mixed it so it was quite wet.
I have tried Bree a few times on fresh vegies. I have a hand blender and I dragged it out last night, but I didn't make enough vegies and the dam machine ate all the vegies and started cutting into the plastic container I used... Tip... don't use plastic... I was rushing around trying to find something while my dinner was going cold lol In the end I gave her a little bit of my vegies which I mashed with my fork and now she has jumped aboard the brocolli club lol
Oh... by the way, I love the idea of making up a heap of fresh vegies and freezing them.. how many cubes do you use in your feeds Kelly?
At least if I make them in bulk, the machine can eat some too, and I won't even notice some missing LOL
The Raferty's Garden have some organic ones but they are purees not lumpy. Or I just haven't noticed. I tried the fresh stuff and she was very fussy with it. I did the whole cook and freeze thing and I now have a stash of broccoli and pumpkin and carrot which she'll eat "sometimes" so fresh is a waste for me lol.
Lilly doesn't do finger foods. She hasn't grasped the concept of holding it.
GG: My boys have 4 cubes each (they are large cubes as well) - 2 potato, 1 either carrot, pumpkin or sweet potato & 1 either broccoli, cauliflower or zucchini. What I do is do bulk of each veggie at a time then freeze them and once they are frozen solid I have them stored in stackable container in the freezer. Each day I then take out the 4 cubes each and put them into container with the lid on for them to defrost during the day and then a quick zap in the microwave at dinner time to warm them through and to make it easier to mix together. So much easier (and cheaper) that way and if I've been out for the day and forget to take them out of the freezer then I'll take them out frozen and zap in the microwave for a bit longer.
Oh, and the Rafferty's Garden are in the colourful squeezy pouches. Even for the 6+ months the mixture is very pureed and runny.
And as for the hand blender, I just use the saucepan that the veggies cooked in to blend them up. Why bother to make another bowl/dish dirty :)
Porshe: My DD wasn't fussed on finger foods at this age as well, but the boys will snatch the spoon from me if I'm not careful and feed themselves. I have to watch when DD eats around them as well as they will take her food if I'm not watching. Take advantage of her not looking at self feeding yet as a reprieve, the boys make such a mess I spend most of my day cleaning up soggy half chewed food.
Oh, they tried grated cheese yesterday as well and that is another winner. Then this morning when DD wasn't looking they both pinched some of her croissant she was having for breakfast. Cheeky monkey's...
Ah, forgot to mention.... WE HAVE A TOOTH... Liam's first tooth has arrived - bottom middle left. Rhys is still showing no signs of teething, although he might take after me in that case, I was 11 mths before I got my first tooth.

Wow it's been busy in here the last couple of weeks.
Jubear - I have been doing baby led weaning with Amelia. No purees, just straight onto finger foods. She wasn't fussed on my trying to put a spoon in her mouth, but very keen to eat the same things her brother was having. So I did some research and then just started feeding her the same things we have. She eats almost anything you give her (except broccoli and cauliflower). Tongiht she had chicken bacon and pea pie. I just shread the chicken pieces and let her self feed from the bowl. She had quiche at daycare today (big hit), and also loves lasagne, sausages, avocado, carrots, refried beans, and wait for it... curry! We order a potatoe dumpling curry in a butter chicken sauce (mild of course), and add a spoonful of yohurt to it. MAsh up the dumpling with rice and sauce and she just loves it. Honestly the only things I've kept away from her are peanut butter, shellfish, and honey. With regards to choking/gagging, these are two very different reflexes. Gagging is noisy and is a babies natural means of moving food forward in their mouth. Choking is generally silent and occurs when food becomes lodged in the airway. You would be surprised at how well they cope with gagging and learning to chew. Amelia will eat an entire banana as if she had teeth, happily chews carrot sticks (steamed), and can strip the flesh of a tomatoe and spit out the skin. Worth doing some research about it and making your life a little easier with regards to meals. I honestly wish I had heard about it with my first.
As for Amelia's progress, I'm proud to say we had our first steps last Sunday:) Very proud mum was the first to see them, but she has since spoilt dad to five in a row, and her daycare mum with four. So pleased she is sharing them around.
Still a short little thing at just 63cms, and only weighing 6.7kgs (even though she eats like a toddler). We are inbetween sizes 00 and 0 at the moment, mostly depends on if the outfit has feet in it. She loves shoes (not really sure she is mine :/) and wants all the big kids toys. No words yet, although a mum isn't far off, and just the two bottom teeth at this stage. Still breastfeeding, and expressing at work, and she is slowly taking to water with her lunch.
Anyway, must run. Congrats to all the bubs learning to crawl and stand, it is such an exciting time. I hope everyone is safe with all the rain we have been having (in SEQLD)
Kelly, I had to search long and hard but I found it. They didn't have it in the supermarket or big w, but I finally found it in Target which was awesome coz they were having a babython sale and gave me a heap of freebies... I tried Bree with it last night but she was too tired and cranky, and got a bit frustrated with it lol so I will try it again today.
Little Bree had an accident last night. I was out walking my son and DH was feeding her some custard out of the tin after dinner. She leaned forward and tried to grab the tin and sliced her finger... DH was so upset about it. :(
GG: poor poppet and I bet DH feels horrible...
Well it seems my boys have decided they don't want to have a milk feed during the day anymore. Today is the second day running they haven't wanted it and have just been happy to eat food. I must admit it is one less thing to now have to worry about as now all 3 (including DD) have a morning and evening bottle only and then food and water during the day.

Bree is not having much luck lately. She fell off the bed yesterday. DD forgot she is getting mobile now, luckily she landed on her bottom, plenty of padding there. Still scared her though.
Kelly.. Thanks so much for the info about the food feeder. While Bree hates the idea of holding it herself, she really is getting into all these new and wonderful tastes she is exploring now.
Bree is still not crawling. She gets onto her hands and knees and rocks and can sit back onto her bum...
Oh GG don't worry! In ashamed to admit how much Jacob has done that! Now we've taught him to edge of the bed feet first :) before that DH and I joked he was a Lemming!!!:
Jacob was doing the knee wobble last week and now he just pushes up on his toes and tries to walk in a downward dog position! Lol

gemini_girl - Glad to hear Bree is alright after her fall. I'm sure that she will be crawling in no time, one minute she will be considering it still and the next zooming across the room.
BabyBellyBurton - My Boy likes to do the downward dog as well, not sure what he is trying to achieve but it keeps him happy.
AFM - My boy was 9mths yesterday, I cannot believe how fast that has come about. We are still having trouble sleeping. I can get him to go to sleep by rocking and put him in his cot but he usually semi-wakes around 40mins and then has trouble resettling, I then need to rock him for about 20mins. Any earlier and he wakes when putting him in the cot... the second sleeps lasts about an hour but then semi-wakes, I rerock and he sleeps again. This goes on till, I am about to drop with exhustion, then I bring him into bed with us to co-sleep, which he then sleeps, no problems. Is this normal? He loves his food but I don't think I am giving him enough to eat, as well as trying new things. not sure when he is suppose to try eggs or tomates and lettuce, does anyone know of a list somewhere here, I can use as a guide. He is now crawling like a champion and loves to pull himself into standing positions in front of the TV and the glass coffee table, both items are banned for him but he thinks it a game and dashings over so fast, that he loses traction a bit. Very funny to watch. He also loves to laugh at my PIL's dog. He finds it hilarous, not sure why. He now has 2 bottom teeth and I think his two top middle ones are coming through as well. Does anyone else's bubba, get a rash under their chin, around this time.
Anyhoo, should get some sleep, now the boy is down. Hope everyone else is doing alright and wishing you all the best.

I am same with sleep and the cot, we just cosleep too. If we want to TTC at the end of the year I'll need to wean him off this though. Not sure how either? Might have to do sleep school but while Jacobs still having boobie overnight cosleeping is easier.

I have a list which Child and Youth Health gave me, it lists things to expect at different ages and also talks about when to introduce certain foods. I think I put in the wardrobe in the girls room, will have a look tomorrow if I remember :)
Bree gets the rash under the chin too. I have found that a tiny amount of paw paw ointment helps. It beats using the stronger cream (betnovate?) which the doc gave me on prescription, although the stronger one got it under control to begin with, the paw paw ointment just managed it since. I put it on every time it looks like the rash is coming back. I lather her bum in paw paw ointment too and it has kept those dam nappy rashes away too. We had so much trouble with really bad nappy rash for about 6 months and since getting it cleared up with Hydrozole and swapping to paw paw ointment to maintain it - No more problems.
Bree got another tooth. She has 5 teeth now. She would have 7 but two of them dissapeared. Slowly getting the idea of crawling but still not getting far. Sits herself up well now though. Little rascal often sits herself up now when I put her to bed.
Brianna got the nickname Briannasaurasrex coz she has found a new growling sound she sometimes toys with lol
Anyone elses bub love having their ears cleaned? Brianna nearly fell asleep yesterday when I was cleaning her ears with a cotton tip LOL

The twins were 9 months yesterday. Lleyton has one tooth, Jackson none yet.
Both are commando crawling but not yet sitting.
Lleyton weighs 8.28kg and Jackson is 7.97kg

I know ! Jacob is 9 months and 6 days according to my ticker and he just loves showing how clever he is with sitting up, does it all the time, which i suppose is a bit better then when he first learnt to get up on his knees and would rock and fall over and cry all the time!
He has come out with "mama" and "dada" a few times, but I think he's just playing with his voice and not meaning anything by it
Bree said mum a couple of times but no where near as much as dadda and daddy... Im so jealous lol:
We ask Bree questions and she shakes her head no all the time and thinks this is hilarious... she often does it when she has had enough food too...

Mrs S all babies/children are different in developmental stages... I have seen massive differences with my eldest 3 for example, my eldest was taking her first steps at 8 months old, yet my second two were not until 14 months of age... not sure when it will happen for little bree but quite honestly I am thankful of each day that she is not as mobile without her walker... she is just now starting to attack the entertainment unit and I don't have doors to protect the playstation or anything so I'm not sure what I can do about that other than pushing the coffee table right up against it...:
My middle two didn't get there first teeth until they wre about 12 months old, yet bree has 5 by the time she is 9 months...
so they are all different, don't worry yourself too much..
I have to take into consideration they are prem too and then there was the month in hospital hooked up to a million machine sedated and given drugs to paralyse them so realistically they are doing really well

I get words from the boys as well - Liam is a mum mum boy and Rhys is all about dad dad. I think Liam knows who mum is though as if daddy deals with him when he is calling out mum he will scream louder until I deal with him - or maybe he just prefers mummy over daddy.
Both boys are crawling everywhere and Liam is not just pulling himself up, furniture walking and now trying to get his balance an let go. This has resulted in a few egg's on his head as he crashes head first into the floor - he did it the other day on the kitchen tiles *ouch*. Rhys has been getting up on his knees but has in the past couple of days started getting onto his feet, so I think in a month or so Liam will be walking with Rhys not too far behind him.
Liam has 2 teeth but still none for Rhys although I think they are both teething at the moment, Liam has a really bad eczema rash on his face from teething that I had to go to the chemist to get some steriod cream to settle it down - the redness has gone today fx it is doing the trick. Oh and you girls who co-sleep, my hats off to you. Rhys was really unsettled last night (from teeth) and would not settle in his own bed so I chucked him in with us, he slept soundly until I put him back in his bed at 6.30am but I am wrecked today as everyone else hogs the bed and I end up sleeping on the edge of the bed which means not much sleep. As much as I would move him back to the middle of the bed he would always creep up close to me. Lets hope tonight he goes down better although saying that he has been fine sleeping in his own bed today.
Oh, Bern how is Chloe now??? Is she all o.k with her cast off??

Long time no chat yet again. Gemini - I am sorry to hear about the diagnosis of aspergers. Was it something you were expecting?
Jubear - I hear you hun. I don't think it is entirely "normal" but my lil guy sounds the same. Lots of cuddling and rocking to get him to sleep sometimes at night. Although he will sleep for a few hours, three at the most but wake up at least 3 times a night for a feed still. I know he is not too hungry cos he doesn't feed for long, but just wants the reassurance. I have started to just rock him instead of feeding and last night it took 2 hours from 9-11 before I gave up and fed him :(. It is hard work and I totally understand the exhaustion!
Everyone else - hi! Your baby's sound so grown up already.
AFM - River is crawling, sitting, and pulling himself up onto things. He has had a couple of bruises already - the first of many I fear :rolleyes:. He only has the bottom two teeth but I think the top two are moving and on their way. DH is away at the moment so the household is a bit unsettled. DS1 started kindy too which has thrown us all into a bit of a spin. Hoping things settle down when DH is back and DS settled into school.
I am pretty sleep deprived (6 hours average each night with several feeds in between :() and I reversed into a parked car yesterday :( :(. I was quite shaken up, although I didn't do any damage to the other car or mine. It was just an awful experience and I was so embarrassed. Unfortunately the lady whose car it was is a kindy mum too so I can't avoid her. I am worried I will now always be "that lady who reversed into me". She wasn't in the car or anything, but I just wish it hadn't happened. Oh well... I guess the sleep deprivation is having an impact.
Ok, gotta go, River is crying (as usual) and I better go do the mummy-thing.

Dragonbub - Oh No, sorry to hear about your car incident. I know about the sleep deprivation, although I am not having to get up to Bree through the night, I am getting very little sleep with trying to sort everything out with our son lately. I usually like to be in bed by 10pm-ish but haven't been to bed before midnight in about 3 weeks now. Hang in there, things will settle down again soon, it just takes a little time to adjust.
TaRyLi - I cringed when I read about Liam pulling himself up and then falling onto the tiles, as we have tiles in our house also and that is something I have been concerned about for Bree. She has just started crawling now and she is crawling out onto the tiles. She sometimes has the urge, when she is on hands and knees, to make her head fall forward.
This morning when DH checked on her in the cot, he found she had pulled herself up and was standing holding the rail.
She copped a knock on the head from the car door the other day. I was holding her and turned to tell my son not to push past and scrape down the wall of the garage which resulted in her getting knocked. She screamed and I felt terrible. I expected a huge bruise, but luckily there was barely a mark. Gee there tough aren't they. I think it hurts us more because we want so much to protect them from any pain.
AFM well as I said, its official - Bree is crawling now! :) but my focus is taken off little Breemeister as we get our head around the recent diagnosis of our son. Its a lot to take in and at this stage I'm not sure what is in store for the future. I have suspected for years that there was something going on but had no idea what it was. I hadn't heard of aspergers until a couple of years ago, and even then, I didn't really understand what it was all about. I have been looking into it more in the last few months and after all the reading, I had no doubt in my mind that my son has aspergers, but to hear it from someone else is still a shock. All these years we have been told "see how you go". We have noticed things got a lot worse at home since we moved. And the screaming tantrums lasting up to 2 hours or more most days. We are trialling medication, which at this stage seems to be working really well. We have only just started him on it but I am already thinking about therapy to help sort all this out so we can get him back off the medication. We have another looooong assessment on Tuesday.
Little Bree is staying with her Nan tonight, we took the older three bowling today to take our minds off everything that has been going on. It worked, we all had a good time (and I got 3 strikes :)) and we all had a laugh, something we all needed. But its strange not having little Bree with us. Everytime I got out of the car I felt as though I was leaving her behind.
GG my best friends 14 year old son has aspergers. Hes a wonderful kid once he gets familiar with you.
Lleyton did about 5 real crawling steps today, i was so proud.
Jackson has nearly cut his first tooth and im praying they learn to sleep through soon 9 months of sleep deprivation is sending me nutty

Yeah they're not always troublesome, DS is going through a difficult time, but he can be quite charming, getting down on one knee and serenading (?spelling) playing the guitar and singing, hoping to see more of this in the coming weeks and months..:

BBB - That is soo gorgeous. It melts the heart when they start saying that. Seth says Dadda and Mumma but I don't think he knows what he is saying, as it sounds like babble. But it still counts as talking with me.
*MrsS* - I hope the boys learn to sleep through soon and congrates on the crawling and first tooth...
Bern - Sorry Chole needs the cast for longer but hopefully it will be the last time she will ever need one. I remember my Newphew broke his leg about that age too. We think his big sister tried to pick him up but landed on him instead, breaking the leg (she was a chubby 3 year old). So far, he hasn't had a break since (touching wood).
TaRhLi - Hope the boys are treating you well.
Dragonbub - I hope you have been able to sleep a bit better lately and that the Kinder Mum hasn't been to bad to you.
GG - Hope you are feeling better about your son's diagnosis and that your little girl is doing well.
AFM - Seth is doing real well, except for sleeping (as I have mentioned), we feel that their is something wrong with his cot mattress to wake him up all the time - but that could be wishful thinking. DH suggested maybe getting a new mattress that is a bit softer and it will make him comfortable enough to sleep through. We still only have 2 teeth but I feel more should be here soon.
He can now crawl like a pro and speed crawls to things/places he knows he should be going too. He thinks it a great game, cause mum will rouse and then pick him up and he can start all over again. We can now walk a few steps while holding onto the side of his playpen but I think he still prefers to crawl, as he knows how to do that well. I think once the walking clicks he will be running everwhere. I have him in a dinner routine of sorts, 6pm Dinner - 6:30pm Bath - 7pm REading in Cot 7:15/7:30 Bottle (and then hopfully sleep). I am trying to him that he can sleep in his cot but so far he is not convince and I end up rocking him but I am presisting.. Any ideas would be great.
