Ohhh good luck bailey and Nai! Sounds like he is already way ahead of jemima. She finally got it on day three. It really is an awesome method.

I am just baking away here. Lucky that this years weather has been so mild for me. It has been hot but it could have been sooooo much worse! Nearly ready to have this baby, but as u girls may remember jemima arrived 16 days after her edd and I haven't even reached that yet, I am not holding my breathe.

Christmas was awesome for us this year. Just seeing Mimas pure delight was such a treat. I think Christmas will get better and better every year.

So nice to hear how u r all doing. I don't post in here much, but I always read ur updates. Can't believe that our babies are little kids now!

Seems to all be going great for you and Bailey - Nai - well done little man. Only having the one in nappies is great.

Bella - I can't believe you are almost due, pregnancies seem to be getting shorter and shorter :-) or is it time is speeding up?

Had a traumatic evening here, I said would babysit for a friend, her little girl who is CJ's age I would need to put to bed so needed to be me not Ryan (live round corner) that all went fine, but Stirling just wouldn't settle for DH at all (he still won't take a bottle - although I haven't tried recently) and started screaming place down, so I had to phone another mutual friend to come round and sit at first friends house for 5 mins while I came home and DH went round till friend could come home. The little man was beside himself (could be the heat but he has been getting worse at going to bed for the past week although he still sleeps through once is asleep) took me ages to get him to calm down enough to have a proper feed and then go to sleep. Oh well no more babysitting for me or going out for us until we sort that out! Poor DH has aged 5 years (doesn't look like the guy in that pic Krystie/Naomi anymore :-)).

Christmas and NYE really good, DH back at work tomorrow (has been off a while as had the snip week before Christmas) so back to normality I suppose. Mum has booked to come over again in April, so with us for 10 days then up to Darwin, Dad is going to join her in Darwin for 2 weeks at end of May so the kids and I are going to go up there for a fortnight and join them (hopefully can schedule to have our bathroom renovated while away) and then mum will be back with us at end of June till end of July. IL's are coming mid Feb to mid Mar, and have some friends visiting Melbourne over that time too, so is all busy busy. Darwin will be a trial run for me flying with just the two kids for our UK trip in Aug/Sep - think will be fine - CJ says is all good as long as has a pink suitcase! She says the funniest things - if she hasn't got a dress on she gets all sad and says "I can't twirl, I need a dress to twirl" and at tea said "Sorry I don't have time for tea, I have to do twirling". She is already trying to play DH and I off against each other, she asks him for something and then runs to me and says "I asked for a cracker, and Daddy said No!" and starts bawling. Her conversation is so good I find I have to remind myself she is only 2.5 and therefore prone to tantrums and typical 2.5 year old behavior. "No thank-you mummy I am not so keen on capsicum today, I will try it next time - ok" she said to me at lunch time - it seems so reasonable seems odd to ask her to try it for example. She is obsessed with hearing stories about when we were little, and then makes up her own using bits and pieces of them. She also seems to have popped an exuberance pill lately, has always been such a sedate calm child compared to her peers but that is changing - I used to wish she was a bit more like them - now the saying "be careful what you wish for" springs to mind, but am happy really she is behaving like a 'normal' 2.5 year old.

TT still going well - we ventured out in public today as I had my OB appt and Bailey pee'd in about 3 different loos - was worried how he'd go out and about but he told me when he needed to go so it all worked out great (still in shock that its gone so well). He even jumped out of the pool at our friends house and told me he needed to go to the toilet - amazing, I would have expected that he'd just pee in the pool!

All well at the OB appt, OB gave me the EDD of July 29th, but I am sticking with my IVF EDD of 27th as frankly I know exactly when this baby was conceived rather than basing it on my LMP hehehehehe. Measuring 10w1day (am 10w4d) and was measuring 3 days behind at my scan 3 weeks ago. Bailz always measured a bit smaller too until the end. Have booked our NT scan for Jan 19th, am a bit worried about my age and the risk of downs etc, but we'll see how the scan goes and then if there are any indicators of high risk we would most likely further test. With Bailey the risk was only about 1/3500 but I am three years older now. OB said based on my age the odds are 1/300 currently but the scan and BT will give a further indication. So far all signs are great and am feeling healthy and happy :)

Glad there is a cool change coming tomorrow, usually I love the hot weather but over 40 degrees is too much for me LOL Have had the air con cranked constantly :)

Jacinta, I notice Bella is sending you the 3DPT method - give it a go, We are BIG fans here

Vic - love the need to twirl, Cerys is a crack up. Laughed at that picture of 'Ryan'! Re the snip - how long does it take to recover? DH reckons he'll do the same in a year or so (well after baby#2 arrives), which is so ironic considering our TTC journey, but as we only want two kids it makes sense in case we get a third unexpected 'miracle'. That way I dont have to worry too which makes it so much easier

Hey, congrats again Bella on the beautiful birth of Madeleine! I can't wait to read a story - can you post a link in here when you've written it? I'm not on the rest of the forum very much at all these days and would hate to miss it :)
Nay, DH took a little over a week to fully 'recover' from his vasectomy (meaning no pain at any stage and we'd DTD) but he was well and truly back to work at that stage. From memory he had it on Thursday and went back to work on the Monday. He was pretty out of it straight after (he'd had heavy sedation) and nearly passed out when he peed the first time (and I mean, I had to rescue him from the bathroom because he was partially collapsed against the wall!) BUT, we seriously have no regrets, haven't looked back.
Vic, how exciting re a trip to Darwin! I'd love to go back there - we will when the kids are a bit older as we'd camp whilst there. We will probably take Nat out of school for a month and drive up and back in a couple of years' time. I can't get over CJ's language! I too would struggle to remember how old she is - she sounds like a 5yo! (Only with nicer manners than mine ;) )
I am actually wondering if Phoebe's hold on language is a bit behind. Sometimes I am not even sure she understands what I'm saying! Although she can follow simple one-step instructions so I know she hears ok. Her most complex sentence would be for example what I got yesterday, "It's nice to watch Octonauts". (It really did crack me up - she was making such irrelevant conversation.) And mostly her sentences are grammatically all over the place, like just a minute ago she said, "Mummy, I want a on my tail" which meant 'I want my tail on' (she has a strap-on Dorothy tail).
Phoebe is dinosaur-mad. I think if she's still like this in a few months I'll be looking up dino birthday cakes. I have been looking for toy dinos for her (she has a few books and the beloved tail) but they all look so bloody scary! What's with that anyway? There are gorgeous lions, tigers, teddy bears etc but every bloody dinosaur out there (except for Dorothy and Barney) are so freaking evil-looking!
A series of unfortunate events has prevented us from TT this last week, including a broken washing machine, illness (of varied family members) and outside-the-house commitments. Sometimes I wonder if perhaps I haven't the capacity to TT with her just yet. The 3-day program looks very sensible but I don't think I can make that kind of commitment just yet, especially having someone else look after Nat whilst we do it, it just isn't fair when these holidays are her last with me before big school. Ah, excuses, excuses.
I'm not coping so well atm to be honest. I am feeling really stretched to my limit which is stupid because I am on holidays. I am just tired of housework, of entertaining children, of trying to be frugal, of being woken up most nights, of trying to fit in the gym around someone else's schedule, not just when I want to go, of a husband who even after 10 years of marriage still doesn't know how to read me and know when to shut up and leave me alone!

Naomi - Missed your post somehow. Ryan felt ok but tender a day or two after the snip, (he didn't have any form of sedation - and got public transport home) but it started feeling worse and turns out he had an infection and had to get antibiotics but after that was fine (although every time we see any form of torture/interrogation on the TV 'the snip' comes up in conversation and he says he would just speak straight away :-) ) He had it done just before Christmas, so had a fair amount of time off, but he thinks could have been back at work next day.

Amy - I think they all vary so much with regards to speech - the little boy in mothers group hardly says a word. Mum says Cerys is very advanced in her communication (she used to work in equivalent of kinder in UK) - I have nothing to compare to, will be interesting to see what Stirling is like. All those months CJ wasn't moving anywhere she was obviously working on her communication. She is slowly catching up with her gross motor stuff and now is able to do most stuff her peers can if can persuade her to try (she gives up easy and thinks she can't do things - I have to be careful what I say about her in comparison with her friends as she is starting to repeat it saying "I can't do that, I am not as fast as ******" etc. ). Sorry to hear you are feeling stretched - I hear you on the housework (although I am tired of it but haven't done much) and also being frugal - I think January is hard because so many things don't go on in January - no playgroup etc etc.

Amy - Bailey was a bit slow on the uptake when all the other kids were chattering away, but them BAM almost overnight he became the biggest chatterbox and quite the conversationalist :) We are inconstant hysterics here, he is a complete parrot and remembers EVERYTHING we say!! He reminds DH that he is THIRTY NINE DADDY, and I am THIRTY SEVEN MUMMY - I should have told him I was 21!! :doh: I know a few Mums I know have discovered hearing/constant ear infection/Gluey ear (or whatever its called) to be a culprit in delayed development speech wise - just mentioning it in case it could be a factor. I also have a theory with second children (I guess I'll soon find out if its true) and thats they their sibling often does lots of the talking for them - does Nat talk on behalf of Phoebes? Anyhoo, soon enough she will be driving you batty with her constant conversation and sentence construction :ROFL:

Vic - no worries, I keep missing things in the forums with the issue with the lack of email notifications. I have told Sean firmly that we are not doing anything immediately after #2 arrives (and we'll be keeping our frozen embryos for little while too) until we completely in a "Our Family is Complete" unified stance :) But was very curious about the logistics of the 'snip' LOL Isn't Stirling growing up fast, he is such a smiley boy, love his pics on FB. Cerys is growing into quite a little lady too isn't she, she seems so grown up in some of her pics

Not much happening here. Have our NT scan on Thursday, taking Bailey along as he will enjoy seeing 'HIS' baby :) We have finally settled on names, seems early, but we had them decided at a similar stage last time. Definitely wanted them locked in before the morph scan as if we find out the gender (plan too) then the baby has a name. However we wont reveal it until birth :)

Bailey is just hilarious atm, such a funny little man, he is obsessed with Lightening McQueen and iceblocks - loves playing with his cars, will play all day long racing them around the place - such a typical little boy. He got a trampoline for Christmas and would jump on it all day long if we let him, fortunately he has stopped jumping off the couch onto the hard tiles now - phew!

Gonna be 39 here tomorrow, will be battoning down the hatches and cranking the air con!!

Will come back later to post about kid/baby stuff, but just had to tell you...

We're getting a new air conditioner tomorrow! Whoohoo! One of our biggest regrets was letting the 'air con man' talk us into ducted evaporative cooling for the house when we moved in. We were willing to pay the extra for ducted refrigerated cooling, and he talked us out of it. Big mistake! It is totally useless. When we have a few hot days in a row the house is just completely humid and uncomfortable no matter how many windows and doors we open. So much so that all our tiled areas get condensation on them so badly that it actually creates puddles! Extremely dangerous when you have little ones that don't notice and try to run into the kitchen on the foyer and slip over.

So we are biting the bullet and getting a split system put in our lounge room. Our lounge area is all open with our kitchen and dining area and the office/play area is just through an archway and the air con will be facing it so it will cool that room too. I can't wait to stand in front of it, lol! It's going to be tricky for the air con guy to put in though because none of our walls that it can go on are exterior walls. They all either have floor to ceiling windows, or the back of the wall has another room on it. He has to go through the wall and out the brick to install it, so a little harder and therefore slightly pricier installation, but it's sooooo going to be worth it :)

Also, I finally finished Shayla's birth story. I was going to write even more and include her first few days with the heart scare at the hospital, but decided to just stick with her lovely birth :)

Quick Question - what car seats do you guys currently have for our toddlers? Bailey is still in the same one from birth, but seems to be getting antsy telling me he is stuck, its too tight etc (I dont actually think it is, but hey, his opinion LOL)

Anyhoo, was going to graduate up to a toddler - 7 yr (26KG) convertible booster later in the year, but I notice Target have the hipod one on sale for $199, down from $349. Seems like a good buy. Wondering if its time to move into one of these - opinions/thoughts please Mummy's :)

Beautiful birth, Bella!!

Nay, we just updated, last week, to the baby love ezy combo. I did some research and it came up as better rated, safety wise, than the safe n sound maxi rider. Was 280 (well 265 cos we bought two lol). E loves her new big girl chair. Lots of bb chickpea have raved about it. It can convert fromin built six point clips to seatbelt with H harness, to plain seatbelt, and has the proper guide clip for seatbelt as they get older

I don't recall seeing anything about the hoops on choice website when I was checking safety stuff

We have three different car seats, but they are all Safe N Sound brand ones. We have Kyson in a Maxi Rider. That seat used to be in Bobby's car and in my car Kyson was in an infant/toddler convertible seat (whatever the most expensive one was at the time). Now that we have the bigger car and bub on the way we have put the Maxi Rider in my car. Shayla is in a Compaq infant/toddler convertible seat and she is still rear facing in it. When bub comes along the baby will go in the compaq and Shayla will go (rear facing) in the other one that Kyson used to be in. Did I confuse you yet?

When Stirling got too big for hired capsule, we bought the Baby Love Ezy Combo (same as BG) this year got the best safety rating (although that seems to change year by year :-)) for CJ, and then Stirling went in her old Safe and Sound Compaq Rear Facing.

We have an infa comfy cruiser for DS. DD is still in her smaller seat. Really like the infa.... it's got a fair bit more room for height, it's more slimline and it's a pretty hardy seat. When we bought it, it was rated better than the maxi rider.

I'll have to get another seat for DD soon.... I'll probably just get the same one, but I'll keep my eyes open to see what else is out there.
