Amanda, your hubby needs a box around the ears! I would be furious.
When Levi feeds and goes to sleep I play with his fingers and hands. It makes cutting his nails easier.
Levi does start to fall asleep during feeds. I play with his hands, feet or legs and he wakes up enough or I'll burp him and put him back on after.
AM, yeah box around the ears for sure!!! Hehe, i might start playing with Violets hands more too, to help with trimming her nails... ive been able to kind of peel her nails off cos theyre so thin, but im sure i wont be able to do that for long when they start getting harder!
*Hugs Mollie* i think your on to something with DH feeling left out, so glad you mentioned that as it hadnt even crossed my mind! Im so occupied by Violet all the time that we havent really spent any quality time together at all really, since the birth... How does everyone make time for their relationship in between all the time taken up by bubs / squeezing in housework, and trying to get sleep?! Any advice would be awesome!! Ill look into some councelling too, just to try and work out some strategies for communicating with each other better etc, in the light of our growing family, it certainly seems reasonable to suggest to him that we do that...
Glad your feeling better about the MIL visit too! Hehe, just spend the entire time with the grandparents and ignore the MIL :P ohh how tempting that would be! Im still winning my stand off with my MIL, she keeps calling and i keep not calling back... bad luck lady!!! Im still mad at her for her stupid comments!
I use a baby nail file for lilly's hands, takes the sharp edges off.
We spend time together while bubs is asleep mostly. We watch tv together, eat together, have showers together etc. Just try to get as much time together as we can. Even just talking. We both love computers so do that alot when bubs is asleep so we get time together.
We also spend time together with bubs, feeding is usually me, but when we need to change nappies, shes having awake time, she bathing whatever we do it together. More fun that way too :) She loves kicking her legs, and has discovered its great fun to kick the rubber ducky in the bath, as well as jingle her jingle socks during nappy free time. Hilarious!
I agree with CK though, however left out he may feel that is quite abusive behaviour sorry, and I think he needs to do some thinking becuase things can't stay the same as they always were now there are children. Hard adjustment I guess and he needs to do some soul searching. That's just life :dunno:

Win for me I've mastered the walking/pat to sleep technique takes 25 mins to get her to sleep however becuase she is suck a sticky beak!
When hubby gets home from work he gets changed then I'll hand Levi over (he normally needs a change then too lol) so hubby takes him off for a while to play and I get to go to the loo and finish up any jobs I may have started.
We then take turns attending to him. I let hubby have computer time if he needs/wants too. We then sort out who is cooking dinner.
We eat, do the dishes, watch tv and always have a chat in bed. Hubby was a big gamer but has cut back to spend time with with Levi and I.
Levi chucked a huge fruit today took me 10mins to calm him down. Was very frustrating. He then decided to smile at me after a huge dirty nappy lol.
Bwahaahahaha AM, he was probably thinking to himself "gee that feels better, glad that's gone!" :)
DH and I make sure to talk about things that are happening, spend time together once Mister is in bed and try to have a little cuddle before sleep time. It is hard, but making your partnership just as much a priority as looking after bub makes a huge difference. And the two things can be done at the same time - DH will sit and talk to me while I feed Alex, or I'll chat with DH while he's in the shower with him as I'm getting nappy and pj's etc ready.
Levi has just about out grown his bath, I'm not sure what we are going to do next. Any suggestions? My house bath isn't very functional.
How big is your laundry trough? Otherwise you may need to go to the big bath, though I'd recommend getting a cushion or something for your knees and using one of those bath gizmos that look like a chair and hold them up.
I may be in a similar position fairly soon - Alex is getting a bit too long for his.
We got a good one that goes up to toddler size thankfully. Laundry trough is a Good idea or kitchen sink
We bought a baby bath that we have used a total of 3 times... Most of the time Aubree is in the shower or the big bath.. although we are lucky our big bath is massive and can fit the three of us :)

We have an external laundry, my house isn't very practical lol. I thought Id find a toddler bath or travel one.
Levi wasn't happy for 3 feeds yesterday, thought I was going to have to formula feed him last night. I guess it was something I had eaten. Think maybe garlic bread. He's ok again today thankfully.
We had nurse visit today, looks like my supply might be OK she thinks we are confusing tired with hungry and overfeeding Bubs see how we go with no formula for the rest of today, Bubs is 4.5 kg now and 56.5cm long.
She also said to up motilum to 2, 3 times a day as one three times a day won't do much. Seeing gp this arvo for whooping cough shot so will ask him then.
Bubs is very over tired ATM and not wanting to settle after all that broken sleep. Nurse suggested settling in her bassinette rather than on my lap long term to try and develop better habits for her. Also showed me some ways of checking if she is windy or hungry. Heres hoping!
Good advice everyone on having some couples time! Ill give it a go and hopefully it helps improve things!:)
Lolpigs, interesting what the nurse said about confusin tired with hungry- the nurse who came to see u said the exact same thing!! So she recommended I started using a dummy for violet cos she was feeding for comfort / to get to sleep and it's worked really well! She loves the dummy and it settles her when nothing else will!
So is everyone getting that whooping cough vaccine?
I've had it as have all my family, bubs is getting hers on monday now becuase I didnt want to unsettle her further today.
I know Amanda! The nurse said she thinks my supply is ok, and told me unless she asks for food immediatley, she isnt hungry. Even though she keeps stuffing her mouth in her hand like she is! She also said waking after being put down isn't hungry it's more likley comfort, she said if she is hungry she will wake a little earlier probably but not straight away. She recommended dummy to sleep for us too.
For me personally the disease is worse than the shots.
Hubby's new toy just arrived a video baby monitor, great for when bub is upstairs in her bassinette!
Lolpigs the nurse said the same thing to me.. They cant tell the difference between hungry and a tummy ache so sometime we will assume they are hungry when actually they have wind.
Amanda.. I got my whooping cough vaccine in the hospital the afternoon Aubree was born. Everyone else just went to the GP to have it though. It bloody hurts your arm thats for sure!
Nothing exciting happening here today. We had a bit of a restless night, so Aubree and I have spent the morning on the couch watching foxtel and sleeping lol

We just did a feed in 40 mins including nappy change and wrapped her at contented signs and she layed down in her bassinette and is going to sleep neally straight away! :dance:
Edit: well now she is fighting sleep because she is used to drifting off in my arms but hey wont be long she almost drifted off a few times, but she is good at keeping herself awake LOL, Trying dummy to soothe to sleep now.
And no formula!!

We had our WC vax done a couple of weeks after he was born - was meant to get it in hossy before we left but forgot in the excitement of going home. Alex has his vaccs booked for just after new years - not looking forward to it...
Last night he was a little restless, didn't settle off to sleep straight away - I thought he was still hungry but he'd fall asleep as soon as he latched on and was only comfort sucking - wound up just cuddling him and rocking him for a bit and he went right to sleep. Have tried a dummy, he gives me a dirty look and spits them out :)

Lolpigs- YAY!!!!! That's awesome!! Woohoo! So good working out these things, and hopefully it means more sleep at night too! The nurses are great hey!
The whooping cough for some reason I'm sure id have already had it? Or is it a relatively new vaccine?
Everyone except Levi and I have had a WC vac. I'll get it done at our 6 week appointment.
I've never seen so much poop, today I've changed 4 dirty nappies and it's only 4pm.
