Yeah I dont know what is going on, I will try the mirror and if it still persists I am guessing it must be motion sickness, not sure what I can do about that one either. Sometimes she will stop crying when the car is moving then start crying when we stop too.. so hard to figure my little chicken out!
Awwww cute. Mine is a pretty basic boring old plain one I picked up at a baby shop, most places have them and sometimes you can find them at target/k-mart/big w as well.
If she stops crying sometimes then starts when you stop I'd be more inclined to think boredom than motion sickness. Fingers crossed at least!

Re baby's in car seats, I have toys hanging off the headrest so levi has something to look at. I also have tucked teddies in the foot of the car seat so they can see them (I'll take a pic tomorrow).
It's been warm here (muggy more so), I've been giving Levi lots of space so he doesn't over heat. He's learnt to grab with his left hand and also try's to sit forwards in the rocker (hasn't got there yet). He's also got great head strength now. Hates tummy time but I'm going to start putting him on his back instead, so he can learn rolling and not just lay there protesting lol.
I have had my arm splashed with pee but not been wee'd on.
I went crazy in the target sale and a few online sales. Poor bank balance is suffering.
I don't seem to have any trouble with Abby in the car yet. She's normally happy and loves the movement of the car and always sleeps most of the time in there.

O. M. G. My friend from work just fixed Lilly's Day sleeps. I cannot believe it.
It will take some time for her to sleep through, but it was wrapping that did the trick. She needed to be more restricted, and she suggested using cot sheets instead as that is what Tresillian taught her to do to restrict her legs alot and wrap her with her arms up.
She woke and grizzled but settled again and its actually restful sleep, she isn't moving or anything.
I'm also getting a private settling class at home tomorrow, bit exxy but worth it. Lilly is getting overwraught with tiredness and I need to get her help. I've tried the public sysetm but they wont give me a referal to Tresillian and they just want me to keep on going with what we are going.

I don't wrap Abby at all, I place her in her bassinet and just tuck her light blanket in so her legs are under but her arms are out.
I also find because Abby sleeps generally around 9 hrs overnight she will have maybe 1-2 20min cat naps through the morning then after lunch she has a good couple of hours then a 20min or so cat nap again before dinner time. Then she has a bath around 6ish, feed around 7pm then she will drift off to sleep around 8-9pm then I wake for the dreamfeed at 10pm and put her straight back to bed whether she is asleep or awake. I find because the room is black she will go to sleep on her own pretty much every night.
I had DS2 sleeping all night from a young age but wasn't sleeping well during the day and I mucked with it and he stopped sleeping well at night then. He only started sleeping well at night 6ish months ago. IMO I don't enforce to much sleep of a day but that's me and what I find works for us.
I've also noticed with Abby that she gets overstimulated quite quick and if she's fussing and I know she's not hungry but is tired and won't settle with me I will put her down into bed and pop the dummy in and pretty much everytime she will settle on her own - even if it is only for 20 mins, sometimes that's all they need to recharge the energizer batteries.
You also have to remember babies are all different and they have differing sleep requirements just like you or me, it's a matter of finding the one that suits you and the baby.
I got pooped on today up near my chest ewwwww!! DS1 had a good ole laugh at my expense..
Abby hadn't pooped for a coupe days then she did one yesterday, was fine and then the one this morning come up the front of the nappy and the way I was holding her it just covered me LOL

Yeah I wouldnt get her to sleep either, except she is miserable overtired and not happy becuase she isn't sleeping. If she sleeps she is like a different kid. 20mins isnt enough for her, unless she has at least 3 good 2 hours sleeps during the day at least she is just miserable. It is why I think I have to do something. If she was happy all day and wasnt sleeping much I wouldn't be bothered. Screamed a bunch tonight becuase she was so tired and couldnt settle it's like she cant turn her brain off or something.
Lilly dosent sleep all night, just from about 7 - 2am which is her main sleep then every few hours she wakes after that.
LOL at the poop I find Lilly waits till I change her then I have to play catch the poop alot !

I've never wrapped Alex either, he doesn't like it at all. Won't take a dummy either. He has his little rituals which usually involve a short top-up feed and a cuddle for day sleeps and then likes his shower, feed and story for night time. We were out last night so he didn't get his shower or story before bedtime and made me pay for it by waking 3 times when he'd normally only wake the once for a feed. His day routine is becoming quite predictable though - he'll feed, have about an hour's awake/play time and then start rubbing his eyes/yawning, so I give him little feed and cuddle him to sleep and he has a nap. Will usually have a couple of 40 minute naps and a couple of longer 2+ hour sleeps during the day.
Gave him a bath tonight, which he loved even though he's way too long for his baby bath - he can't kick his legs without clonking his head on the other end. Thinking I might need to go to Bunnings and get one of those gardening cushion things so I can put him in the big bath without killing my knees, as our bath is too small for me to sit in comfortably.
Yep that is what Lilly is like CK, but she cant seem to get off to sleep or stay asleep reliably and its causing her to be way over tired. But if she has a big sleep.. well she is just so super happy. She wont let me cuddle her to sleep anymore I'm jealous :( LOL Lilly is way too long her her bath now, I'm going to have to invest in something for the big bath tub I think!
Hmm hubby found out the cost of the private settling place and said we couldnt afford it bah :( Heres hoping the wrapping will help her stay more settled.

So tired this morning. Alex went down pretty well straight after his bath so was asleep by 7.30pm last night. Woke around 10.30pm for a feed, then at 12am, 3am, and 4am. Figured out it was partly because he was hungry, partly because he was cold (he went to bed in just a nappy but it cooled down quite a bit overnight so I had to dress him) and partly because he might be getting just a little too big for his cradle. He's discovered a trick where he pushes off with his feet while on his back and hunches his back to move up the bed, but gets stuck at the top and then cries. Sometimes he ends up almost sideways with his arms and legs sticking through the bars. Hoping I'm not going to have to move him into his cot for night sleep just yet though
haha Cranks, Zoe is doing the same thing! With the pushing off with her feet until her head reaches the headboard! hehe tis kinda cute when she cries out her disgust at something stopping her movement!
She had a funky night last night. Went to bed at 9.30ish, then bout 1.30ish she was just kicking and throwing her hands around (I don't swaddle as she prefers to be free) in a really hectic way! So, gave her a feed and she fell back asleep. Has been hot here so maybe she was just a lil thirsty? Meh, who knows :)
That's what kids are for :D to keep us guessing! They eventually find their own lil niche in life.
LOL true that Nikky! Sounds like she was thirsty we had a really hot night here not long ago and Lilly was up every 2 hours wanting to drink and did that frantic kicking and stuff. Like she didn't know what she wanted but needed something.
Well the cot sheet wrap is most definatley helping. She dosent need a dummy now to settle, having freedom of movement with her legs was letting her get upset. Now she just grizzles a bit then drifts off to sleep.
I have noticed she isnt eating much during the day which probably isnt helping, probably those teeth playing up on her. I can feel a bump on the bottom of her mouth on the side she complains about most.
Going to a new Pead as I was not impressed with the last one, and this one is recommended by a friend. Her son had bad reflux too and believes that is what lilly had based on what I've described, but our old pead didnt seem insterested because it wasnt pathological, it was silent. Didnt suggest thickener or anything. Hopefully the new one is better.
CK sounds like he might have to go into the cot :( Cheeky monkey pushing himself around in there. I put the cot in our room, moved our bed and everything can you possibly do that so he can still be with you?

Abby does that too in the bassinet but tends to end up almost sideways. I think I should be able to keep Abby in the bassinet till about 4ish months, there's no way I can fit the cot in our room but Abby's room is right next to ours. I have the aircons sitting at a constant 25 degrees so I don't have to worry about varying temperatures which is good.
I'm curious lolpigs what do private run settling places charge? Don't have to disclose if you don't want though.
Had a crappy night lastnight. DS2 climbed into bed with me and he's a shocker lay on you type sleeper or lay sideways or upside down with an arm swung over your neck... anyway you the drift!! Abby also woke for a rare feed at 3am which I didn't mind cos it got me away from jaws of Jaxon, by 7am I was wrecked.

Ahhh, one good reason why I'd never make a bed-sharer - I like my space too much. DD would lay diagonally across the bed and kick constantly, so got evicted pretty quickly.
I don't think there's any way that the cot could possibly fit in our room, it's a tight enough squeeze with the cradle as our king size bed is massive. I did just buy a video monitor at the target sale and would cope if we had to shift him, I just don't want to because it'd mean I'd have to walk further to get him for night feeds :p
Looked at the weather forecast for the rest of the week - ewwww gross! Going to be 37-40 odd degrees until at least monday next week - sure you still miss Perth Nikky?

I don't mind the heat really....just can't do much with a 12 weeker and a 4 year old! Take at least an hour or more to get to ANY kind of beach :( where as in Perth, we always lived only about 10 min drive from Scarborough Beach! and didn't mind the 30 min drive to Cottesloe! oh my

Zoe is AWESOME! seriously, I put her in our bed during the day, on her own, and she happily lays there till she falls asleep! which is usually 2 minutes later hehe
Gets up a couple hours later, has a bum change and a play then eats then gets *nommmmmed* on by her sister, then goes back to bed! repeat x 4
Ohhh so different from Harriett! Who would NOT sleep anywhere but in someones arms!
And would only sleep for an hour and half MAX at a time!

Dan this place wanted to change in home, $120 an hour. Although it seems to vary wildly. Amanda was just telling me there is one in Adelaide that charges $50, and the rest he charges medicare pays half! :/ Well the new wrapping seems to be working a treat, she grizzles for about 30secs then settles down and drifts off to sleep. Awesome sauce. No Dummy.
Had a bit of a scream before bed time, her teeth are bothering her again and shes gotten a rash from mashing her hand into her face, as well as all her clothing bibs and wraps and drooling everywhere. Gave her some panadol to try and ease it so hopefully it will settle down again. Wish it would hurry up and cut, or just stop moving on her poor pet :(
That's a shame Ck :( We have a king size too the cot just squeezes in with room for me to just scoot past. I wasn't coping with her being in the other room after she started hating the bassinette.
Hmm sounds hot in melbourne :( DH just applied for a job there with a mate of his, waiting to hear if he gets it, if so we will be moving down there :D
The temps in sydney have been fluctuating all over the place, humid and hot one day cold the next. It isn't so bad today but we are in for more thunderstorms so it is bound to get all humid and yuck again.
I think Abby has only slept in our bed once of twice through the night till I figured if I put her down she'll fall asleep on her own anyway. I'll occasionally lay with her through the day but mainly it's putting her in the bassinet or swing.
I should of just kicked him out last night, dunno what I was thinking leaving him there.

Levi sleeps in his cot in his room at night, during the day he sleeps in his bouncer or cot.
It's hot here, Levi has been having big boogies in his nose, screams blue murder then laughs when it's done lol.

Yeah, violet is the same as Lilly, somehow can't seem to stay asleep during the day, it's like she can't er into a deep enough sleep... So I'm giving it a week, then booking an appointment with the sleep doctor! She can only seem to take 30 min naps at a time, then wakes up acting quite upset, then I can't seem to resettle her. Going to try lolpigs' awesome cot sheet wrapping technique to see if that helps!

Got an appt Monday (earliest day i could get that DH could come too) with a new GP cos our old one basically refused to give us the WC vaccine!
I had alot of trouble with DS2 and sleeping, that kid seriously stayed awake all day and didn't sleep all night. Gosh I couldn't believe a baby could sleep so little, it does improve with time and they learn to sleep better, some unfortunately take longer.
I honesty think that Abby would do more catnapping now if I didn't have the swing, that's where she spends her large sleep during the day - around 2-3hours.
I have a friend who swears by the philosophy that babies sleep better the more they sleep. So it really doesn't matter where they sleep as long as they sleep, it's all about teaching them one thing at a time, but I also don't like getting in the habit that the baby will only sleep on you or you have to feed to sleep.
My biggest problem with Abby is I don't like taking her out because she is so used to the home environment for sleeping that she plays up and won't sleep properly while we are out. She ends up basically inconsolable and I have to bring her home and soon as she is put in her bed she instantly quietens down and drifts off to sleep...little monkey!!

Ouch my boobs!!! I put Levi down at 9:30pm and he's still asleep at 7:30am. Normally by now at least one boob has relief. It's his first night in his new ergo cacoon, must be good lol.
It's 35 today and I'm meant to be going out for lunch, I'm not to sure about that now. Way to hot for my liking :(

So tired now....Alex's fantastic night sleeping has disappeared in favour of waking every 2-3 hours for a feed. Having solved his too hot/too cold problems, he's still waking but really hungry - he'll take all of one side then part of the other. My body however, is taking a while to adjust to the sudden loss of sleep. Hoping it's just a growth spurt, far as I know there's a big one at around 11-12 weeks that he could be gearing up for. At least if it's a growth spurt he'll settle down once it passes. Maybe. Or I'll just adjust and get used to snatching sleep while I can...
I'll just wait until feeding, he's had one boob. Next one is in 30-40 mins, when he wakes up again lol.
I prefer not to pump unless I need it. We don't have much freezer space.
Lolpigs, your my hero for today :D violet has been asleep since 10:38 (yes I'm being that specific! Ha) and its now 11:51 and she's still asleep in that cot sheet wrap! She's grizzling at the moment and did on and off but seemed to go back to sleep on her own! So that's been so far an hour and a quarter roughly- and I hope the current grizzling stops in favour of a bit more sleep! It's amazing just how long she's stayed in bed! That thread looks exactly like what we have going on! Couldn't have said it better! There are some good tips in there about not putting them down at the very first signs of tiredness - ill give that a try? Thanks for sharing!! :)

CK wow I hope it's a growth spurt!!! Violet was doing that too, and it's exhausting!!!! I know how you feel.. She only in the last two weeks really has started sleeping a bit longer at night... Aw hope it gets better! Cheeky Alex!
AM I remember you saying you got desensitized to needles- did you go see someone or did it on your own? I think I need to do it with spiders as I'm scared I'll either get one in the car and crash with violet in the back... :( It's mainly Hunsmans that scare me like crazy.. Uhhh....
Edit- she's just woken up- but just grizzling rather than upset like usual!!!! Woooo!!
