Hello everyone :)
We have been on holiday with no phone reception bar limited Internet access, it's been lovely.
Levi can now grab things with both hands, roll from Front to back on the floor and smiles and laughs when tickled.
I am loving breastfeeding and the routine we have going. Hopefully it keeps up.
Levi is 3 months on Thursday, I'm a little sad :( can't believe how fast the time has gone.
Hugs xx

I agree, be more direct with your MIL Amanda. She will get the message that she can hold her but not when it isn't appropriate. Dont let her make you anxious, try being assertive in a polite way and see if it helps :)
I'm having a rough time with Jess too. Went to sleep at 11pm, up at 2:30. Fed back to sleep then up at 3:30, 4:30, 5 and 6:30. She's done it a few nights with the same pattern. I worry the change in formula and meds is causing it or just normal baby behaviour? I'm soooo tired.
Tresillian are coming tomorrow, just for 2 hours. I wonder what they will say. Not looking forward to it TBH.
-
Hope it goes well Jan and you get some pointers or something to help.
Amanda what a PITA, dunno what I'd do TBH. Guess as long as she doesn't live to close at least it's a rare occurrence you have to deal with it.
Trying to get people to call you back in the same day is that too much to ask?! Two different companies and it's so damn hard to get all the information I want in buying the block of land and then the building companies are just as bad.... arrgh!!

Levi was very out of sorts yesterday, today he's been good...so far lol.
It's very muggy outside but inside it's quiet cold... Can't win :(
-
How did you go yesterday with Tresillian Jan?
Alex is seeming to want to bring his bedtime forward, from around 9pm to 7.30pm. Ordinarily I wouldn't be fussed, but it's meaning he gets grumpy and starts wanting his shower/jarmies/boob and bed routine right while we're trying to eat dinner. Can't really eat earlier because DH doesn't get home from work early enough, though maybe I could bring the shower and jarmies part forward to just after DH gets home....
-
Yeah Jan how did it go?
Lilly is all over the place again LOL I wish she had a routine! Wont stay wrapped now rolls around all over the place and gets out of it, put her in a sleeping bag still rollling aorund. Cries while rolling around, if she rolls while sleeping wakes up. Tried the travel cot slightly better. Hope its just a growth spurt or just a phase while she is learning to roll back and forwards.
OMG dont even get me started if she rolls onto her stomach , cries and cries.. silly chicken needless to say i'm a zombie as sleep is somethign we are both not getting atm.
Also the itching has come back I had while pregnant so I'm going to have to go to the dr to get some tests done :(

Yeah I'll have to say something to her I think- either that, or I'll get DH to say something to her if he sees her do it.. So annoying, I hate how it plays on my mind! Darn MIL.
Jan- hope your appointment went really well! Fingers crossed! Yeah you sound like you mustnt be getting much sleep at all with that little schedule of waking up so often during the night.. Violet has started waking for one extra feed again, it's frustrating when it seems to be one step back..
Lolpigs- uhhh were having issues too- violet wouldn't sleep in her bed for more than her usual 30 mins but then was having a tantrum cos she was so tired! So I just had about an hours worth of trying to get her to sleep in her swing! Which was not working cos she kept swatting her dummy out of her mouth! And if I wrapped her she just wriggled free, then swatted out the dummy and then cried cos it came out of her mouth! Frustrating about Lilly rolling still... Hmm.. Not sure what to suggest there! Violet has shown no signs of rolling at all yet.. Not sure if that a bad thing?!
Do you guys go by weeks or months when referring to baby's age? Violet is 13 weeks but that's technically not quite 3 months yet even though to me 12 weeks sounds the same as 3 months kind of, IYKWIM...
Violet still wants to be fed every 3 hours- it should be more like 4 hours now right?
-
Levi feeds every 3.5 to 4 hours now unless it's hot and he wants feeing ever 2.5 hours.
-
Alex's daytime feeds are all over the place to be honest. I never really pay much attention to how often they are so long as he's feeding well and peeing lots.
Wouldn't worry too much about Violet not rolling, anywhere from 4-6 months is apparently normal, before 4 months is early.
-
Yeah same CK, Lilly's eating is all over the shop most of the time. But she has lots of wet nappies and dirty ones and gains weight so I dont worry about it.
Yeah don't worry about her not rolling, its a pita anyway LOL Violet will make her progression in her own time :)
Ok figured it out and we are back to being wrapped and using a sleep positioner like she is 8 weeks old. I forgot about the wonder week this week makes sense! Little pest :) Her sleeps are all over the shop, shes asleep now and staying up later in the evening. We had her in the bumboes watch us eat dinner last night and she got angry becuase she couldnt have any, like seriously got the grumps anytime someone took a mouthful! Was hilarous and annoying at the same time
Realised DD is a square eyes, likes to watch TV with Daddy and watch him on the computer.. uh oh!
-
Heheheh, so is Alex! Though apparently cricket is boring. He likes Mythbusters, nature docos and Hi-5 :)

Levi is 3 months today. Where has my baby gone :(
I'm so tired the last few days that I've been a bit short with hubby and not tollerated Levi, chucky hissy fits. I feel like a mean mummy, hope I'm not getting sick.
-
Sorry to hear you are having a rough time AMumma. I'm in the same boat as you, I feel like a crappy mummy.
I'm feeling down in the dumps today. Just can't see when things will ever get better. Last night Dh gave Jess a dream feed at 11pm and then she didn't go back to sleep until 3:30-4am. She thought it was play time. Then she woke up at 5:15am, feed and then didn't go back to sleep until 6:30am then she woke at 8am. It's been like this the last few nights. Only had one 'good' night that didn't involve being awake for most of the night but the rest of the week has been awful.
The nurse from Tresillian was very nice. She said that she has to outgrow the reflux for things to get better. Gave me a couple of tips for settling and feeding. She said if it all got too much I can do a 5 day stay just to get a break. She mentioned that the losec suspension may not be as effective as the tablets, though my ped said it was ok. I find myself chasing my tail to find a solution but nothing seems to help.
Hope you are all having a good day
-
Oh thanks guys, good to know I'm not the only one! So there's really no way I could be over feeding her do you think?
Jan, awwwwwww that sounds so rough, you must be running on like, one or two hours sleep? Does your DH take turns being up with her at night or is it mainly just you? What were the nurses pointers re settling? Whatever you do, don't think your a crappy mummy! Your the total opposite!! Also did the nurse give you an indication of when Jess might outgrow the reflux?
AM- dont feel bad, we're all human! And being tired all the time isn't easy!
-
Sorry didn't see your question. Jess feeds every 3 -3.5 hours. I don't think you are over feeding her. Once they turn 4 months most babies can go 4 hourly, depends on the baby.
Thanks Amanda. DH does help though I feel so bad for him as he has to go to work the next day. I just seem to be getting more and more tired as each day goes, probably because I can't see an end to it. I used to deal with the night wakings much better than I do now. The nurse said maybe 6 months she might grow out of it or maybe 1, they can't say for sure. Though she did seem to think every week she should improve abit.
Settling techniques - allow 1.5hours from time baby wakes up, then put in cot awake with or without dummy. Walk out of the room after calming baby ready for sleep in cot, if cry then go in again and resettle with patting and shushing. Do this 3 times. On the fourth time then hold your baby and pat to go to sleep if she is distressed. Otherwise pat off to sleep in cot. She said it was good to encourage self settling even if they won't do it yet but give it a chance as it gets them slowly used to the idea. It did work once yesterday, though patted her in the cot until she went to sleep. Tried leaving her and it didn't work which I expected. As DS got older I remember it worked really well, though he was 4.5+months and had an easier temperament.
It is tiring, I remember with DS I felt the crappiest at 4 months from all the sleep deprivation and we aren't there yet.
-
Oh thanks jan :) glad to hear!! She sometimes goes for 2 hours, sometimes 3... But a bit longer at night thank goodness!
Awwww yeah that really sounds rough... I know what you mean, with your DH having to go to work, it's hard to try to get them to get up.. I wonder, if you tried offering solids at 4 months could that help with the reflux? At least 4 months isn't too far away? (I have no idea if it would help but it might?
We try a similar settling thing with violet but she rarely goes to sleep and she just wriggled and grumbles for ages- so I often just get her to sleep in my arms then put her in the cot- not the best habit though! And she will only sleep in the cot for 30 mins.. Then often wakes up quite upset.. Weird! She sleeps well in the swing but I worry about getting her into a habit of sleeping in there so try to at least get her to have a morning nap in her own bed, then often let her sleep in the swing for the arvo naps..
I truly think your doing such a good job hun, it must be so difficult but your hanging in there and should be proud! What's more, your putting in so much effort to help Jess, and that's all you can do!

Today Levi and I had a good day, it was his 3 month birthday. He was in a good mood and thankfully so was I. He let me have a sleep in lol.
Going shopping tomorrow, I really have to control myself.
I'm on day 2 of weight watchers, hopefully eating better will help me feel better. Nothing came of feeling crappy, fingers crossed I don't get sick :)
Hugs everyone x

Hi mummies :)
AM i've started doing the CSIRO total wellbeing diet. It's easy to follow and I tried a couple of those shakes cos I had a couple left in the house and besides giving you an immediate bloating feeling I was hungry half hour later.
OMG Jan how are you functioning!? I didn't realize she was so bad with her sleeping. I've been lucky this time round with Abby.
A friend of mine swears by the more baby sleeps the more they want to sleep, if that makes sense. You got one of those swings? How does she go in there, will she sleep in it? Does she have a dummy?
Does she have to be rocked to sleep or does she fuss? Only ask that cos I figured out that Abby doesn't like to be rocked to sleep in my arms she likes to be in the bassinet or swing to relax and go to sleep on her own.
I also got Abby weighed yesterday and she's just cracked over the 6kg mark at 6.055kg at 13 weeks.
