Dory - 'hooter hider' !! Is that really what it is called or is that a Dory name for it?
Bec - Oh poor little Isaac with his wind. I hope your new contraption (looks good!) helps a lot and you both get a good night sleep tonight. Guess you would already be asleep where you are... so I hope its a long one.
Chloe is asleep - I have a glass of wine - gunna watch some sh*ty tv. YES
good work Fuzzy! and plans for the night... noice!
Dory - love the hooter hider! I have a much more couth "nursing cover" bebe au lait brand, couldn't live without it as I'm always faffing around with nipple shields which = lotsa nekkid boobie!
Bec - in the pic your dooverlacky looks awesome, have fingers crossed for you for better sleep,.
Just a quick one here. Annika is awesome. A legend. A sleeping legend. It's bliss. SOrry to go on but honestly the difference is huge. We're getting 4 hours + of happy self-settling day sleeps. I even dared take her to the shops this arvo and she still managed a small day nap. We've had some ups & downs as you expect but on the whole... yuh. Mum is here helping out & DH still not good - waiting to see (still trialling meds and no major improvement yet) and the MRI this week finally.
Oh and earlier Bec I meant to say that your Isaac reminds me of Xander... he used to sleep like that. Annika is just such a vastly different beastie. I'm learning... still learning!
Oh and it looks like my job is definitely being made redundant. Just gotta go thru some bureaucratic bulldust now! bah!
fuzzy - sleep? Me? Ha! I don't even know the meaning of the word! Very jealous of your wine and tv, I've only had one glass of wine since this time last year, and that was on Christmas day.
dory - haha hooter hider I know exactly what you mean about feeding in public though, most times I find a private corner or somewhere not obvious in case I flash an innocent bystander, but places like airports where all the rows of seats at the gates are just so open.. no privacy at all. I use a wrap to cover up but wriggly babies are good at moving them unfortunately. Thanks for offering to put a link on your fb to my made it page, I'll pm you the link if that's ok, I don't think I'm allowed to post it here on bb.
belfie - Isaac had some good sleeps in it today, I think two hours this afternoon. Yay! But he wouldn't settle in it tonight but that's a nightly problem anyway, so I'm not blaming the hammock.
Have I said this before? If I haven't I don't know why not. Anyway Isaac has this strange new idea that it's quite normal to stay up until almost midnight. He goes to sleep as normal after bath/feed etc, but only for an hour. He has been awake since 7, and a few times looked like he was about to fall asleep but then woke up again. He ended up crying from overtiredness, so I put him down next to me on the lounge and he stared at the tv then fell asleep at 10:30. That's not a habit I want to start. But anyway he's been doing this every night, and can go until 11 or 12 before falling asleep. It is driving me crazy. I just want my evenings back. He doesn't wake up until 8:30-9am, could that be the cause of the late nights?
Belie - Woooooo Hoooooooo! Go annika! Well done for perserveing and working out what your little girl needed - I have taken a leaf out of your book and am now leaving P if she is just whinging and it is also working (she just settled herself) so hopefully we are both over the worst of this latest challenge.
Bec - any chance Isaac is ready for food? It could help to explain the extra night feeds/waking etc.
After weeks of bad night (and day sleeping) I spoke to the nurse yesterday and gave Pearl some solids. She actually tried some avacado on the weekend and tasted some rockmelon but yesterday we bought out the big guns of rice cereal and pears. She loved it and slept quite well last night (not great though - up at 2am then 5:30am but it is better than the 6 times she was up the night before! Hopefully we have turned the corner here - FX.
Gotta go and take advantage of the fact that P is asleep and have a lie down.
Next nap you could try tucking her in with a bedsheet. Sometimes they get overtired cos they're so busy practicing a new skill like rolling or sitting then don't sleep. Also isit teeth? Have u tried some sm33, it works instantly.
Fuzzy - H does that a LOT... I do the following cause it's clear that she's not going to go to sleep, but it is hard to draw the line as to when to stop trying:-
wash her face with a damp washer and
talk soothingly too her (and for my benefi); and
change her nappy ( just in case); and
quick feed cause all that crying is thirsty work; and
pick her up and do some quiet activities - rocking, singing, laying down and reading and if she's still freaked out?
get out of the house cause it all seems too much in those 4 walls - so a walk or a trip to the shops - Chloe might still be fractious but at least you're distracted.
Hope you get through ok.
belfie - good idea - I just looked at some of your 365 project photos - OMG A & X are so cute, and I love the photo of her on the change table.... too cute by far.

: more to say
Thanks guys, just quickly as she is just waking up.. ending up giving up and getting her up. She had an appt to get her 6 month shots so I just left early and drove around for about 15 mins. She slept straight away.
Teething gel. I'd always used bonjela, but my sleep consultant aka goddess told me that SM33 is instant where Bonjela is not.
hope to bbl with persies too.
Dory - thanks so much! Call me biased but I think they are so adorable, and as for that pic...lol well clearly it's the rolls actually keeping her upright! mwahahahaha
Thanks girls. I tried giving her less solids and she still didn't want a bar of her bottle..yesterday she drank about 400mls all day when usually it is double that. She IS sleeping right through and she IS happy and her bowel movements are fine & she is still having wet nappies so I'll try stress less about it. Gosh it is funny that even as a second time mum-some things are still so new to me!
Buzzie - the food info I have says that meats should be introduced when finger foods are started from 8-12 months. Remember they don't need the nutrition from food at the moment, it's all about tastes and textures, they are getting most of the nutrition they need from milk until 12 months (I always remember the saying 'food is fun unitl they're one'). But then it's all up to you really, and what you want to do.
thanks Dory. Mum took Isaac for the afternoon yesterday, then brought him back at 5 and bathed and fed him some rice cereal for me which gave me a break.
fuzzy - oh no poor Chloe, did you find out what was wrong with her in the end?
Hi to everyone else! I've got lot's to do so I better go and get started.

: corrected
Fuzzy - P has been doing that sort of thing a lot lately and I just get her up if she is still going after about half an hour and all the usual techniques have not worked - she did it again this morn so we just went for a walk and got the mail - when we got back (about 45min later) she went to sleep without a problem.
Buzzie - the nurse here was talking about making a meat stock from scratch to add to vegies, grating frozen steak or using mince - all from 7 months. She also talked about pasta - if you cooked it really well you should be able to blend it up.
Wite - sounds like Harlow is doing just fine and dandy - sleeping through is like a dream in this house!!! I reckon some days they are just hungrier than others.
P is asleep and will prob only be down for 40mins so I have to make this quick, Not much to report - last night was a good night thank goodness - we were only up twice between 11:30pm and 6:30am so I was able to get some sleep. My LC now says I can't drink the water from the tap!! Have to stick to the tank water (which I basically do anyway but we were away last week for a few days so drank the water from the tap there!) Still on my super strict diet and having more bad nights than good. We were up every 40mins the night B4 last mg: Hopefully last night was a sign of things to come.
Chuckie - I hope Pearl's sleep settles down soon for you.... hugs for having such a tough journey.... LOL re the tank water, if I drink it it gives me upset tum. You are doing so well.
Bec - glad you got a break. Even though we love them to bits, sometimes we both need a break from each other.
Wite - It's absolutely reassuring to me that you've got questions....
AFU - well vaccination day today.... the clinic nurses blew some bubbles for H and whilst she still squealed, it did help settle her quite quickly, and so far so good.... FX crossed.... though she's not going for a nap this arvo, but she doesn't normally go to sleep at this time of day anyway.
The other exciting news is that I got to see and hold briefly, a 1 day old new born today... OMG so tiny, so red, eyes so closed, so sleepy... 8 pounds born... and a cone head as he had to be vacuumed out. His mum had a tough time of it and is rather sore, and said she pretty much vomited green stuff most of the labour. Poor thing. Has anyone else done that?
Dory - green stuff? Not me. But same goes here - i visited a friend in hossie and got to hold her new bub. 6 pounds 14 girl. So cute. She had an amazing labour - 3 hours from waters breaking to delivery with only 3 contractions . Oh how I wish that was me!! Hope HB goes ok with her shots
Going ok here. Well kind of. I am snuffly, Chloe is snuffly. She has only slept a total of 1.5 hours today and was up every 3 hours last night. Had her shots on Monday so it might be related. I am exhausted. I saw the endocrinologist and he doesnt think I have graves disease. YES!!! but had another blood test just to be sure. If I dont hear from him I guess its just pospartum thyroiditis and it will clear by itself with time.
