Isadora Hang in there, it most certainly gets easier as their little mouths get bigger, and also you both get the hang of doing it together. I never had any problems with DD1 coming off, but DD2 was a chronic drifter. I found it easiest to detach and re-attach. Also propping up or holding your BB can help (sometimes they kind of fall out because of the weight) - using a BFing pillow to give you an extra hand, adjusting your posture, or even using a rolled up nappy under your bb to hold it up (never did that but met a lady who did) all can help.
