MD, yip, the fake-ish tinge to the cry is what really gets me angry - it is fully put on but he won't frigging stop doing it! There have been many pull over to the side of the road and threaten to make him walk incidents lately.

We do nuts, raw carrot is met with a definite yuck, have never tried popcorn (but just cause I'm not really into it anyway, so we never have it at our place and DD has never been to the movies)
Arte - we've had some shocking behaviour lately. A lot of 'don't talk to me' 'I'm talking to Daddy' kind of things. As well as the 'NOOOOOOO'
DD spent the night at MIL's. They went out this morning and forgot to check if she needed to do wees before sitting in the car for 30 minutes. So I got to spend the afternoon washing the car seat. Not impressed, she's only ever had one other accident in the car and that was due to a nap on the way back from Canberra. And of course the significant Dora watching that always occurs there.
MD, popcorn is a staple food here LOL. Not the packaged stuff but the homemade stuff. A loves it and I often make it for the kids for school too. He also eats raw carrot, bu doesn't like nuts so that's a non issue.
Arte, if they are in the mood to carry on like pork chops over something then there is plenty of the fake bellowing too. Mostly from E though. DH's nephew is a gold medal winner for it though ROFL. He is 2.5 and I've seen him do it when he doesn't realise he is being watched and you can tell it is 100% deliberate to get his own way with his mother.
I don't think A would sit through an entire movie at the cinema either. He watches DVD's here but unless he is really in the mood for it most of the time I turn them off because he goes outside or does something else.
Cally, I would hate to clean wee from the car seat. It is such a hassle isn't it? Its bad enough when you have to clean up spilt drinks on it.
Cally, bummer about the car seat wee. We have only had one accident so far, but the seats probably need a good wash anyway from all the food crumbs that get smooshed in.
Yay for 4 day weeks! DH had to work over the long weekend here but he gets this friday and monday off which will be cool.
So does anyone have any tips for dealing with the crying/whinging/bellowing? It is driving me up the wall!
Arte, I just ignored it. I still do if they carry on like that. It is purely attention seeking and I just do not buy into it. They usually stop pretty quick when they realise it's not working for them.
i ignore it as best as i can, then i can either a) scream like a banshee and go all psycho (ahhh doesnt work that well for us )
b) tell her it's fine that she wants to do it, but if she would kindly go outside and do it as i just dont want to hear it (suprisingly this is met with considerably more success lol).
Aaarrg J was awake all night crying whinging carrying on. Have no idea what's wrong with him, he seems fine in the day but just can't sleep. I'm so tired today. Couldn't make it to soccer cos I just couldn't deal with all the driving etc When I'm this tired. He's in bed now at least.
It is officially freezing here right now. We went out to lunch but L was whinging the whole time about being cold. It is seriously too cold to leave the house!
How cold is it there Ginger? I'm freezing here as well. Can I just say breastfeeding in winter SUCKS!!! Last thing I want to do is whip them out in this weather.
LOL at the bellowing! We most definately have it here too. I just try to ignore it. M is getting sooo cheeky. She told me to 'buzz off' the other day. Then she hangs up the phone on her dad and says 'I cant hear you, I am too busy'.
Something has gone crazy with the weather! We have just had the warmest May ever recorded and there still hasn't been a proper frost. The last couple of days we have had the fire turned as low as possible but still need to open the door to vent in some cooler air because everyone was too hot! The ski season opens in 2.5 weeks and there isn't much snow around - a lot of business owners will be desperate for the weather to turn very soon.
Ginger, I hope the bad night was a one off. We get more than our share of those nights and it isn't fun.
Just heard today is the coldest day of the year.
Yeah I can't handle sleepless nights. If he does it again tonight I'm going to go crazy!
I'm getting my king sized bed next week. Woo hoo! I need it with these 2 kids sneaking into my bed every night.

Poor E has gone from one extreme to another. We had 2.5 wks of a non stop feeding growth spurt, up all hours of the night. We are now onto a sleepy growth spurt. Wants to sleep alllll day. Fine with me
Yeah G, it was after two nights in a row of 3-4 hour tantrums that I opted for the phernegan. I was in tears at the thought of doing it for a third night! Yay for the big bed - I love mine, feels like I am sleeping alone even with DH in there!
Trill, did you end up getting a new mattress? I wish I could just ignore W's tanties away but that kid is nothing if not stubborn! He has the lastability to go for over an hour. If A isn't around then I just up and leave him to it, but it doesn't seem fair to A to have him screaming around her all the time.

Cass, I do the same - I can remain cool and calm for only so long before I am yelling at him. I see the irony of screaming at him to stop screaming lol. I tell him that he will have to go outside if he keeps up the noise, even follow through and put him out there if he doesn't stop but alas, it doesn't stop it from happening again and again.
G, do you think he might have been cold? I've had a **** few nights sleep because it's been so cold here too. We've apparently got snow forecasted for tomorrow too and I reckon the people at the BOM have been smoking crack LOL.
LOL H, I remember those winter BFing days well with P. I had a little blower heater set up near my chair to keep me warm at night.
Arte, we didn't get a new-new mattress yet but got one from the spare bed and MIL's house.
Well after seemingly being OK after his OP, the past few days has seen DH in loads of pain in the left calf and he's hardly been able to walk and after a terrible night in pain last night I said enough is enough and you have to call the Dr in the morning. So he did and we had to go all the way back to Wagga for an emergency ultrasound this afternoon as the Dr thought it was DVT and sure enough he has a blood clot in his leg. Luckily it is only in a vein and not the artery and it's only a partial blockage. So now he has to have Clexane injections twice a day for the next 10 days which is traumatic for both of us as he is terribly needle-phobic and I have to give them to him while he is saying 'AHHHHHHHHH'. But the difference in car between private and public is amazing. After the ultrasound was done, the sonographer rang his surgeon herself to say what the results were and even though his Dr was in surgery at the time, he said send him around to wait outside the theatre (the radiology place is at the private hospital) and he'd see him once he'd finished operating and DH went round there, was met by someone who addressed him by name and why he was there and directed where to wait and his Dr phoned him on his mobile, talked over the results with him, conferred with the other surgeons in the theatre as to the appropriate treatment (DH could hear them in the background) and then once he'd finished he came out to give DH the script he'd written! No way known would that have happened in the public system!
So we're hoping it works really quickly and he's back to himself because he is really struggling with being laid up like this.
Trill your poor DH. So hard after surgery because you never really know how much pain is "too much". I'm glad you took him back so promptly. When will they review it? You could try drawing a circle in black texta, and slathering emla numbing cream over it half an hour before you give the needles, he won't feel a thing. If you do it on his bum or somewhere he can't see he won't even know you've done it LOL.

Cass, I meant to say, if you ever get a chance to see Wicked, then do it! It does deviate from the book (don't they all) but still well worth the effort. I might've been hallucinating but now the stage show has been everywhere even sleepy old radelaide, isn't someone making a movie?
Thanks everyone for your popcorn etc comments, I know i'm just being a wuss. Do you remember how paranoid I was about E choking when she started solids, cos of how she would cram too much in? I don't think the paranoia has properly worn off.
