    Hi everyone.

MP, that sounds like a really rough weekend! Hope you are alright xx Happy Birthday to J! I am not sure what Mimco is but I hope you score well. DH got back today and I didn't even get an airport toblerone

Ginger, good that L liked Cars 2. Despite all the bad reviews W is still going to see it - has been so excited for months that I don't think a lack of story line will bother him.

Feeling a bit better today. Spent all of yesterday on the couch with massive coughing fits if I tried to move. Bringing in firewood and feeding the kids nearly killed me!! But what annoys me most of all is that I had A sleeping through in her own bed and W had just started going back to bed by himself, then I got sick and they were sick and I had to let them come into my bed because I just couldn't manage getting up and the cough till I vomit fit that went with moving. So now we are back to square one. Oh well, it was nice while it lasted lol.

DH got back this morning. I feel sorry for him actually- I am too busy trying to breath, A wouldn't go to him and W is being a turd. Not a very welcoming homecoming. He showed us the holiday pics and I tried very hard to be interested but I don't think I did a very good job. I hate other peoples holiday photos - may as well be looking at a travel brochure or something for all the relevance it has to me. How selfish does that sound!

lol well i know who to invite over to see my holiday snaps next time....
i am in the other camp - i LOVE travel pics... but then again i am a travel lover so it usually just inspires more holidays!

Arte - how are you feeling today? did you end up going to the dr?
i have a crazy sore throat atm, i am putting off going to the dr...

MP, that must be really hard to see your friends go through this I'm sure you will cope just fine on your own too!

Arte, I guess he was too busy taking happy snaps to call you LOL. Generally I don't mind looking at holiday pics, except for DH's Aunty's photos as they are boring at bat**** ROFL. Just random snaps of her family and grandkids and nothing really exciting. I love looking at SIL's travel pics though as she is a brilliant photographer and she has some amazing pics. That totally sucks about the coughing. I think you should make the most of DH being home again and rest up.

lol i'm not a traveller, so it just bores me. i'm more of a homebody type.

school holiday boredom and cold weather is getting to me!! having no money to blow doesn't really help either. there's only so many episodes of fireman sam i can handle

Yeah, if I wasn't there then I am generally not interested. I don't even look at my own holiday photos!

We still have next week to go before holidays - they are having longer terms at the start of this year to fit in school holidays in Oct when the world cup semi finals are on to cut down on traffic in Auckland!

The worst part about the coughing is that I have next to no bladder control anymore! I can go to the toilet, nothing comes out and yet a coughing fit 2 minutes later has me wetting myself!

aw man, i think it is time for a big group hug . it sucks that everyone is having a hard time lately, so glad that we have eachother on here

arte: man, you would think that lack of communication would (should lol) translate into some presents for you! these men have no idea sometimes

    MP: eeepp, tonsilitis again?

AFM: all good here. have flown up to qld for Opa's 81st birthday . the trip went well enough, but marta threw food at everyone and there is no room whatsoever for having the food tray down while holding a baby...i was so cross that i couldnt even eat the frikkin food that they gave me and it does make me wonder i we will cope when we move OS next year. i am thinking of convincing DH that marta needs her own seat...hahahahahahahahaha wish me luck

jTell your DH it is fine if Marta doesn't have her own seat - but he is on baby holding duty! Give him a trial run on the way home. She will be around 15 months by Jan (= very mobile and squirmy) and isn't it a 15 hour flight or something? I vote own seat!
Hope you have a good time for your Opa's birthday xx

Hiya ladies, just popping in, have been reading but not posting. Just started two weeks' leave today (WOOHOO!), but still feel massively busy. The dummy-weaning has been wearing...turns out Missy E has developed fear of the dark/shadows-that-look-like-circles-or-smiles/belief-that-the-bed-is-moving (prob from the change in shadows when the egg nightlight changes colours) so she has started having her lamp on to go to sleep and that seems to be working much better. Poor darling. Seems like she has been blessed with her mummy's vivid imagination...

Hiya MD - was wondering where you were. I was going to message you for the last few days but I never seem to get around to doing anything!
Sucks that solving one problem usually just leads to a replacement problem! Glad the lamp is working. Bad bedtimes suck!

Lucky for me W seems to be back on track with coming in for a kiss and cuddle and putting himself back to bed! I am so happy! A has gone downhill badly but she is sick so she has been coming into our bed and I will sort it out once she is better.

Nothing much going on. A lot of stir crazy around here since everyone is sick and we have barely left the house. I know W is a bit behind in the art department, but all of a sudden his pictures are actual recognisable things! Yesterday he drew Saturn with all its rings and moons and I tell what it was.

    hi girls

i actaully managed to get 3 hours to myself today! woo hoo! dad looked after the kiddies and i went and got my eyebrows waxed, had a massage and had kfc for lunch all by myself! it was lovely. he has actually offered for me to do it again- have a couple of hours at the local shopping centre by myself in the next couple of weeks and i might just take him up on it! enjoying the fact that the kids are that little bit older now and i can get out a little bit

    how is everyone else's day?

Bit of a flat day here. DH and I were both in a mood this morning - the post holiday let down. All good now though.

Had a wonderful time in Sydney. DD loved the aeroplane, had an awesome lunch cruise on the harbour and stayed at a hotel where DD could look over the harbour from her bed. Having our return flight cancelled and being stuck with a 4 hour gap to fill in at the airport wasn't so good, but we all coped.

Arte - glad that W seems to have coped with returning to bed.

Arte: i hope that little A gets better soon. sick kids are just so tricky to keep happy xx

MD: i was wondering where your posts were...i guess you have been busy fighting shadow monsters . we found that L went through similar kind of monsters in the dark. for about a week we gave her one of her teddies to cuddle for when she got scared. worked ok. then a friend came over and sat her down and told her that he had put the monster in his backpack and was taking it back to monster land on his way back to italy (he was leaving for the airport) and you know what? it worked

AFM: all good here. Marta and I are enjoying our time with Opa. not much happening but that is ok. Marta is really missing her Leila though, so interesting to see. poor thing keeps staring holes into any young kid that walks by in the hope that it *might* be leila. and then at night when we put them on the phone together it is just the BEST as M starts to flap her arms and start sucking (her form of kissing) the phone lol.

Ginger, do you not usually get a 3 hour break? Doesn't your DH watch them in the weekend so you can do your own things? He needs a kick in the pants if he won't look after them for a few hours! But yay for your dad, he always sounds so lovely!

Cass, I didn't realise it was just you and Marta in qld. That is adorable about the kids on the phone!

Cally, glad your trip went well. K is such a beautiful girl! Every time I see pics of her I think she would do so well in those kiddie beauty contests.

Our trip to see Cars 2 got postponed due to sickness so we are hopefully going tomorrow.

Arte- I have never had 3 hours to myself before. Dh gives me 10 mins a day to have a shower and that is it. No joke. I look after the kids every minute of everyday except for the 4 hrs a week that L goes to kinder, but then I still have J for that time. Dh works all day, comes home has dinner then goes out to the garage and goes to bed. Not having a whinge as such, just stating the facts! I guess this was the decision we made early on when we decided I wasn't going to work until they were at school.
Enjoy cars2 tomorrow. If you work out what it's about, please let me know!

How is your time off going Md?

Cally- your pics from Sydney looked great! K is sooo pretty

G: i missed your post about the 3 hour break. woot woooooooo! man, you did well...well organised, man a wax and a massage is in all honesty my dream at the moment. i keep giving subtle hints that DH needs to get me a massage but it is met with vacant stares to the middle distance hahahahahaha.

Cally: oh man, i also missed your post! i totally hate it when i have a grump day with DH, good stuff that it has blown over

Far out Ginger, that so wouldn't fly around here! They are half his kids, when he is at home he needs to be doing half the work! I want to kick his ar$e and tell him to sort himself out! That really isn't fair to leave you doing the child raising. What about the weekend? Don't tell me he does his own thing and leaves you with the kids all the time? Stand up for yourself hun, next weekend announce you are going out for lunch and leave him to it! Selfish behaviour like that would be a marriage ender for me, I hate it when guys think that their life can go on uninterrupted when they have kids and expect the mum to do all the kid stuff and make all the sacrifices.
