Trill, your evening sound awesome! Really happy to hear you had a good time!

MD, bummer on the supermarket flowers! Good thing he is getting a refresher in acceptable anniversary gifts this year though - he doesn't want to blow it next year for the 20th! I crack it with the drawn out book choosing - many nights W has gone to bed with nothing because he has taken too long!

Cass, yeah, I forgot how pregnant I was when I organised it lol. Didn't do too badly, it is only 20 minutes each way and mostly flat. I did have a small rest (complete with embarrassing panting to catch my breath lol) on the only hill, but the other girls are 14 and 17 weeks pregnant so they know better than to mock because it is coming their way soon lol

I was hoping that a decent walk would get this baby to go head down. The other two were engaged by 26/28 weeks but this kid is a free agent.

Arte - I hope you didn't have to resort to such drastic action! hope that bubs gets themselves sorted soon.

Trill sounds like a good night out!

MD- Congratulations on the anniversary, but commiserations for the flowers.

DH doesn't get SAD, but he gets the end of holidays blues. He was grumpy as all weekend, but seeing as I was the same way the weekend before I couldn't make much of a deal about it....

MP - poor thing, hope you and the boys feel better soon. Very jealous of Hawaii, DH has promised we can go if the dollar gets to $1.20, but I'm pushing for $1.15.

Hi ladies, I've been trying to catch up but there has just been sooooo much chatter lol.
Things are busy as usual around here, bring on the Christmas break I say lol. L got his kindy acceptance letter this week so next year he will be such a big boy going off to kindy. Will your children be doing pre-school/kindy?

Oz - N is already at kinder - he loves it. here we can do 3yo and/or 4yo kinder and then they go into prep at age 5.
N seems like suh a big boy going there - he has grown up a lot in the time he has been there, partly i think by bieng there and partly bc i guess i need to accept he is nearly 4!
has anyone started planning bday parties yet? i had to as we are away at the time and we also have to invite the whole class plus all our friends - so its going to be huge! i have hired a hall/play ground and we have a couple of clowns coming... they will do a magic show and then make balloon animals etc and do facepainting. n ends up at a p[arty basically every weekend now, its crazy!

OMGosh MP, N's party is going to be massive!! I am planning now, because I have to get supplies next time I am in the city and I want everything organised well before the day so we only have to blow up a few balloons and heat some sausage rolls since baby is due the day before.

Has the Aussie dollar overtaken the US?? I should watch some news!

I am really struggling to keep up with W atm. Since he took an interest in writing/phonics/reading I just feel like I am not providing what he needs. Today MIL arrived and he was showing off spelling his name etc, then any word that took his fancy. He sounded out Volcano and spelt it out correctly! It is just happening too fast and I can't keep up. It feels like an endless stream of questions. In amongst the spellings he was counting things and asking addition and multiplication questions. I am sure he needs more than I am doing with him but I have no time because A is always around (and soon baby too).

Arte - it got up to $1.08, it's about $1.06 at the moment. Wow, W is flying along!! K and DH did lots of practice of sounding out all the letters and she has really progressed in the last few weeks. I'm not sure she's up to volcano though!!

MP - wow, the whole class, that will be a massive party. I haven't thought about it too much except I know if we have a party, it will just be K's little friends. My family are too hard to coordinate with their travelling and I'm sick of having to invite SIL when nephew is 11 and I've never been invited to any of his parties (DH and I started going out when she was expecting, so by the time the first birthday came along we had been together 18 months). We will probably have a little family party when we are up in Canberra with my family anyway.

Oz - We have K's name down for the local preschool, but not sure if she will go there or just stay at day care in the preschool room there.

yep all the kinder parties end up big bc of inviting the whole class but big families and outside friends... for 4 yo kinder you dont have to invite everyone so it will be more manageable. i think we will end up with 40-50 kids... NUTS. but the place i have hired is big ad there is outdoor space and i will do relaxed food and the clowns will do the entertaining... so 'breathe' it should be ok. some of the kinder parties are totally OTT (and some arent) - it is a little crazy, but i try to just think that noah is lucky he gets to go to them and experience it...we get back from hawaii 2 days before his party so i have to get organised beforehand (his actual bday will be there)

trill: ah i am jealous of your night out...it has been so long since i went out on my own with friends.

arte: haha, i just had to laugh at your walking antics as DH and i did something similar a coupke of weeks before L wad born and i could of sworn that i was about to pop her out then and there lol.

MP: wow. that is a massive party to organise...i would be feelin' the pressure lol. i too am in themidst of organising. planning the two cakes, the celebrant (for Ms naming day thingo), the pinata etc etc. i am thinking of also outsourcing some entertainment as apparently there is a cool chick in the area that comes over and sings songs and facepaints for a couple hours. but i will have to see...otherwise i might have to don the fairy costume myself

Oz: i know!!!! we have been a bit chatty lately....i reckon it's because down here it is cold and miserable and there is no sunshine to go out and frolick in

AFM: have spent the day chasing down bookbinders....urgh. gotta get the thesis bound for the uni. decided that the copies tp go to them can be cheapo and i'll get mine done bespoke style after graduation. i asked today about the price for that (a little old man in a way too cool cardi no less lol) and it *starts* at $320!!!!!!!!!! i need to selll a kidney or something hahahaha! or need to ask the parents for a graduation pressie!
also have been busy getting Ms passport and filling out visa forms for the US. it is all getting mighty scary and real now.
also just enrolled L in a ballet and tap class at the "glittering tapping fairy wonderland" place up the road lol. should be a hoot!

Cass, I think we will do the Toy Story theme that W wants and have an extra cake there for A. She is a bit oblivious atm so wouldn't really know that it is for her anyway.
Sounds like you are super busy atm. Sucks you have to pay to give your thesis to the uni! Seems a bit unfair!

MIL is here which is working out pretty well since the kids are being terrors at night.

DH mentioned today that if his current project goes ahead then he will probably have to go to CANADA to inspect some equipment, some time in the next couple of months!!! I don't care if I give birth on a plane, I am sooooo not staying home again!!

hi arte! we are having a rather boring and lonely weekend. boo hoo! have been traipsing around trying to get people to eat cake with us. so depressing when that doesnt even seem to impress lol. i think my dream would just to have a friend that can just drop around for a cuppa...it seems that i expend so much energy 'dropping around' and nobody wants to reciprocate (yeah, having a moment lol).

I will do the two cake thang. it is becoming more likely that Leila will want some sort of "ballet" theme....and as for Marta well, she'll get what she's given (ie what i totally want to make lol).

MP, sorry I missed that it was your birthday yesterday - I hope you had a fantastic day!

Cass, how totally adorable does L look in her ballet gear!! She suits it so much!
Bummer that no one would drop round. I love having visitors but I only have one friend that visits. But it is really nice, and casual too - like I can go round to her place with a supermarket pizza and we cook it up for lunch, kids play, we talk, doesn't matter if the housework isn't done.... just relaxing.
