thanks girls for the shared love . for a minute there i thought i had married the last of the cavemen lol. but i think you are all right, he just doesnt like to think things through and finds it too confronting to place himself in my shoes ITMS ('cause, seriously there are times when it sucks butt more than it is awesome hahahaha!).

Isa: ooohhh yeah, nothing like a snot smear across your boob to remind you how "rock and roll" you are in parentdom lol.

Leila puts her treasures on the mantle above her fireplace...it is know by her mother as the "dumping ground"

AFM: i am going to tentively say that i am feeling a wee bit better . i still have a headache and a throat full of razors but i can move my neck and see without blurry vision (ah the small things hahahaha!).
had a scary moment today when a girl threw herself in front of my car . i had the girls and the dog in the car on nicholson st (so 4 lane job plus tram line in middle). and without looking she literally jumped onto the road and in front my car. all i can say is thank goodness for ABS! those babies kicked in and i managed to stop within a whisker of her. of course the moment i realised that she was not going to be hit i started screaming like a banshee at her (it is melbourne afterall lol). but faarrrr out! not to mention that i am already on super alert after that couple was killed in carlton down the road the other day by a car.

Arte, A collects all sorts of random sh.it LOL. He has a little tin garbage bin we brought from smiggle he keeps it all in, but on the bunks we brought them there is a little shelf underneath the top bunk that can store all his precious possessions. But he keeps it pretty neat so it's not a drama. L was like that too at the same age and any piece of rusted bent and worn out bits of crap he found went into his bucket.

I had to take L to the back cracker the other day in Griffith and I hit a dog It was on the main road I was travelling and it crossed the road right in front of me. He was an old cattle dog and he didn't even see the car. I had no hope of stopping in time without going off the road and rolling the car so I hit him square on. I am just devastated about it. Luckily it killed him instantly. His owner wasn't far away and she was so upset. I have never ever hit a dog before - plenty of roo's and foxes and birds, but never a dog. It bent all the nudge bar on the car and totally ruined it, but after my other bingle it was being fixed on insurance anyway. I got her a big bunch of flowers and stopped in there on the way home to apologise again. I still think about it. It was just awful.

oh sherie that must of been just awful . there is something close to home about hitting a dog IYKWIM. they are so close to our social structure and all. that was very lovely to bring those flowers, she will appreciate that no end down the track

Cass, that must've been so scary too! Glad your reflexes were quick and the car was able to respond in time. Was she just not looking or what? BTW glad you're feeling a bit better, you've had a bad run with teh throatie things, haven't you. Has DH been made to see the error of his ways?

We've had quite a lot of flu/gastro going around at work, everyone I'm working with seems ok though. There was one whole area on my floor that was completely EMPTY bar maybe 2 people, they were all sick. I reckon I've had a brush with flu-flu , last week all my glands were huge & very sore but no symptoms, that might've been my vaccine kicking in with an immune response.

oh no trill. how horrible for you totally not your fault though, these things happen. we had a black lab a few years ago and he got out one night and apparantly ran head on into on coming traffic. dh was in the garage and heard him being hit and ran out to see what it was. the poor lady driving was so upset. she had no chance to stop and thought he was a wombat. it was horrible but luckily he died instantly luckily our next dog was not an escapist.

cass- glad to hear you're feeling a little better. silly pedestrian! what is wrong with people?

took L to ENT this morning and he is having his tonsils and anedroids(sp?) out. we are on a waiting list.

Adenoids. Why is that Ginger? Is it because of a run of sickness or snoring/snuffiness?

ETA - what are the little darlings all getting for their 4th birthday? I'm ordering some of my old favorite favorite picturebooks (like a Golden Book collection, The Tiger who came to tea, and Ferdinand the Bull) and I managed to find the shivering penguin game, but I'm pretty uninspired in the face of Missy E's requests that are all based on the mountain of girlie toys that her little friend at FDC got for her birthday (eg, think: lots of barbie/dolly type things *SIGH*).

sleep apnea, constant snoring, waking up in the middle of the night and throwing up. they are huge to look at and has a large chunk of extra flesh hanging down on one side. the ENT believes that he may not be getting enough oxygen and that it may be affecting his development.

G - hope the waitlist is short!!! Are you worried re the op? a friends daughter just had it and it was really fine - she was more worried than her DD andthe DD was most excited about a diet of ice cream and jelly!
I just ordered a marble run for N for his bday. some other ideas (friends have been asking ) are magnetirk board (which I am hoping will keep him occupied on the plane!), storio, Djeco Geoforme, magnetic puzzles, any games (hungry hippos, elephun), hammer tap game (he LOVES this at kinder), more duplo etc

i am worried. i know it's good that he's having it but i'm still worried because he's my baby and i don't want him to have to go through anything.

mp- another great idea would be a leapster explorer. L has one and absolutely loves it.

Aaah thats a good idea, i will look at that v the Storio. I dont want to buy him too much - so we are only getting him the Marble Run .. bu tmum will also be getting him something so she may get one of those.

Its natural you will be worried. but of course it will all go fine. xxx

that he wont have to wait the whole 6 months xx as for the op, well can i just say that i found it easy breezy especially the lovely morphine part lol. but no, seriously, it was all AOK and very quick. the 12 days afterwards were rough as but with loads of love and cuddles he'll be awesome and will feel 100% better on what he is now i promise!

MD: ours is a constant battle with the girly scary stuff in this house too.

Well Cass I think my DH just beat your DH in the unexplained absence trophy for the week.

Just had a phone call, at the time I was expecting to hear he was on his way home from work to meet me to do the shopping. He's been told he'll be away for a week. Effective immediately. No notice. No warning. No preparation. I realised afterwards I don't even have a contact duty phone number for anyone he works with. It was a one minute phone call.

He doesn't realise it yet, but that one minute just ended his career.
