Far out MD!!! what on earth is he doing that he can't even come home and pack a flipping toothbrush!? Not to mention helping you get prepared for him being away for a week. If you do get him to leave, what else can he do as work?
G, he will be fine - they do that type of surgery all the time. You will be more of a mess than he will be I really hope it doesn't take 6 months either. Speaking of ENT's I reckon Paige needs to see one or have a sleep study done because she snores like you wouldn't believe and is always tired. You've spurred me on to make her an appointment now.
Oh man MD, I would be wild!! That would **** me off beyond belief! I hope that it hasn't left you in the lurch too much with kids/school/study/work and everything else
G, you must be glad you went to the appointment! The sleep apnea sounds scary. Hope that it comes around sooner than the 6 months.
Cass, glad you are feeling better. Sucks when you want to curl up and sleep away a sickness and you are stuck looking after kids

Oh yeah, it has pretty much summoned up every ounce of pent up rage that I've accumulated over the last 20 years....Yes it left me totally in the lurch re a number of things. Trill I have *no idea* what would need such urgency but they do have a history of laying the law down without any apparent rationale or consideration for the persons effected. Everyone had gone home for the afternoon and I don't have any out of hours contact details for his immediate supervisors so it was pretty much "suck it up baby." The FDC lady listened to me rant for about 5 minutes solid and I didn't leave any swears out either. Then around 5 pm he rang me to say, guess what? The person who was originally supposed to be doing the duty had been recalled from leave so he was coming home after all.
So now he isn't going? I can imagine that would be relief with a side order of bitter taste Is it easy to get out of the service? Are there other job options for him around?
oh far out MD i guess you could use this moment to really see how this is impacting on you all and maybe see if there are opportunities to work elsewhere, somewhere less *spontaneous*. argh, what an emotional rollercoaster!

4th birthday - bike, helmet, dolly nappies, Miffy and Hairy MacLary books. Suggestions to family members have been those dolls that are just heads that you play with their hair or a kite - and the usual books. It's not going to be a big one. We actually haven't had many requests - those that we have had have been more directed at Santa.
Beautician appointment tomorrow. Miss K has expressed a great desire to come and watch so that might be interesting.
Ginger - I really hope you can get in sooner than 6 months. Is that in a public hospital?
Trill - You poor thing, that would be devastating to hit a dog, especially with the owner being so upset. Nothing you could do though
Cass - That was terrible news about the young couple hit by a car. Must really hit home with it happening so close to you. I am also surrounded by girly stuff. M is such a girl. I am so over barbies and all their accessories.

MD - It seems ridiculous that a workplace can treat someone like that, surely they know he has a young family at home. Its totally unfair!! A bit of warning at least would make the situation nicer.
I just took M to her first ever school disco, I dont know who was more excited me or her! She absolutely loved it.
Isadora, the disco must have been cute! That would fully be W's idea of hell!
4th birthday - train table, buzz and woody figures (sharing with A), laser/dart gun, remote controlled car, buzz lightyear inflatable wings. Few little bits and pieces, and they are having the party.
For parties, when do you send out the invites? I was thinking around the last days of August for a party on Sept 10? That would give people 1.5 weeks notice - is that what you do? I am lost with this party stuff! And is it alright to write something like 'presents not required' or similar?
I am pretty sure W is sleep walking. The last couple of weeks he has been getting up a couple of hours after bedtime and I wasn't in bed last night and he comes out and wanders around the place and seems pretty unaware of what is going on and mumbles and I have to catch him and pick him up to take him back to bed. I am now wondering if a lot of the night tantrums have come from sleepwalking into our room and then waking and being disorientated.
i used to be a big sleepwalker arte. and a terrible sleeper...i wonder if there are connections
4th birthday: we have a cash register, ballerina barbie and an ALDI dollhouse. i know that mum has bought her a fairy ballerina costume...not much stuff, but all very very girly, egad.
for marta the poor poppet so far has only scored a hammer bench lol.
Arte - we got an invitation last Wednesday to a party on the 10th. I thought that was early, but I'd be doing it at least 2 weeks prior - then have them RSVP a week before. Don't forget you're having a baby at the same time so people would fully understand if you sent them out earlier so you knew numbers. Last year I wrote 'No presents', but the two little friends still brought some. Sleepwalking idea sounds completely plausible - how can that be addressed though??
Cass - I want to get a dolls house! My sister was telling me about the ones from le toy van which look pretty good for this age group. I didn't notice the one from Aldi.
The beautician visit went well - no X rated waxing for me Isadora!! K drew pictures, played peek a boo with the beautician under the bed (let's just say her white tights will need a bit of a soak after climbing under there) and just chatting away. Didn't want to do anything with Daddy afterwards either, is a real Mummy's girl today. DH went out and bought her bike helmet while we were there - and left it in plain sight on the back seat of the car - what a boy.
No nap yesterday, swimming after school, awake this morning since 5:30 - over 2.5 hour nap so far. I'm getting bored.
trill- i think you should definitely take P to ENT. i nearly didn't take him, as he has only had tonsillitis a couple of times so i didn't really think it was an issue, but it turns out theres all these other issues associated with their tonsils iykwim? so glad that i took him now and that something is going to be done.
cally - i wish i had a mummy's girl! sounds like so much fun! i took J out today for a babycino and some scones but he's really not that into it
arte- i would send out the invites asap. i'm one who likes heaps of notice for things so i like to receive invites as early as possible!

well had a day out with just J today. not as fun as it sounds though he is still a bit of a nightmare. hopefully he sorts himself out a bit once he hits 3 as he feels like a lot of hard work at the moment.

You city folk must have busy lives! The last party W went to had invites a couple of weeks before and an RSVP of the friday before the sunday party. But us country bumpkins don't have much else to do (seriously!). Will do them this week.
G, toddlers are hard work to take out. I hated taking W to the shops, he had to 'look' at everything so I spent all my time returning stuff to shelves. He wouldn't stay in the pram, wouldn't sit still at a cafe for more than 2 minutes etc. It was just not fun. Somehow I got lucky with A and she has been a cafe kid from about 18 months - happy to sit at the table for a reasonable time etc and W is old enough now that we can actually go out for lunch. Going to be ruined again soon when the baby gets mobile, but for now I am loving it!
Cally, I looked at sleepwalking on Dr Google and apparently the 'treatment' is making sure they don't hurt themselves. Very helpful.
ETA, Ginger, are you worried about J being over the top hard work? Or are you happy that he is just a normal toddler tornado? Obviously W isn't normal, blind freddy can see that he has too many quirks to be mainstream. Hard to admit that there might be more going on with your kid than you can attribute to normal toddler behavior.

I can't believe how long I used to trawl around the shops for with DD1 in tow. I would hand out snacks, she'd sleep in her pram, she would happily walk alongside the pram, etc. DD2 - shopping = not fun. Clearly not enough practice. Having said that, she's getting much better as 4 y.o. approaches. I just have iss-ewes with the general level of shocking behaviour that is reserved for me on any day when it's just Miss E and me. Saves it all up for mummy
MD, with the time difference it was only 5.30am thank goodness! DH did the 2-5.30am shift, bless him! LOL, A always saves it up for DH - she can be sweet as pie all day and then as soon as he walks in the door she follows him around screaming.
I got a nana nap today DH went hunting this morning so he took the kids out for a walk this afternoon and I had a kip. It was lovely.
Still, 5.30 is painful enough! Glad you got your nanna nap in though.
I forgot to say the other day, I heard from Supablondie!! She said to say she misses you all and she's been very busy with Miss L who is now 1 (!) and sitting up now and a very happy girl. Lots of appts though with the downs and she is now a heartkid (I think that means she has a heart condition). She was thinking of all our september babies birthdays coming up soon and hopes to log on again soon. So that was nice!
