Cass, that is really worrying  Did they give you any idea of how long it can last? If Dh can't get leave to help you, can you access some home help?
Cass, I've been really worried for you  It's one of those times I wish I had a big virtual DH-slapper that could reach through the screen and slap your DH for you. Can you phone a friend to pop around and help for an hour or two?
hows everything going cass?
Cass I hope your ok, are you feeling any better? Please look after yourself, Arte had some great ideas.
hi girls,
thanks for all your thoughts xx i thought i was a bit better yesterday, but today feel like have been hit by a truck. sooo frustrating! it is such a gross feeling with the pins and needles and wobbly legs. thankfully it is just M today at home, so can bring in some of those ideas from arte (thanks babe!) with relative ease. that, and she is easily placated by the boob lol.
thankfully i have a friend coming on saturday to help out and DH can get tomorrow off
just really dont feel well :(
Cass - I am not meaning to be too direct but i am at work so have to be quick. Your DH must take some time off, it is just BS that he is going to work when you are this unwell and I am sure he would have access to carers leave or something like that. IMO this is the most important thing he can do right now, and no piece of work/deadline/meeting shoyld come beforeit. I am surprised they sent you home if they suspect rheumatic fever... you poor thing!
I hope your DH isnt playing soccer this weekend - its great your friend is coming to help but what yoiu really need is for Dh to take the girls all day - and for you to have rest/quiet and no demands. even with someone coming over to help, if you are the parent who is home they will demand things of you and i think this is just not on when you arr so unwell.
He is prob hiding out a bit bc he is freaked out that you are unwell. he needs to pull his socks up, buikd a bridge and get his %ss home to help you - the ramifications of you not recovering or going downhill are much worse...
There - again sorry if its blunt (and yep I am feeling a tad moody today!)
Hugs to you

Well said MP
ok i am back... i hope i havent offended anyone with my rant!
Cass - I dont think there is much I can do to help you but if you would like me to cook and drop around some food i would seriously be very happy to do so. pls PM me if you would like to - you know I love a cook up and i am happy to do this for you. xxx
We are having quite a few 'boundary pushing' issues with N. I just bought 1.2.3. magic. anyone read/used it? i need to find some time to read it. he has changed so mcuh recently - really becoming a boy now. developing so fast - can write his name!!! I think he has had the testosterone surge they say boy shave around this age... man he pushes my buttons!!! J is also much more hard work than N was at this age - so dreading what he will be like at 4!!!!! they are delightful together though and even strangers in cafes/shops mention to me how beautofully they get along so that makes my heart sing!
i am flat out at work - half enjoying and half not!!! i have just started to work from home on a wed and that makes it all a lot easier. am finding the juggling pretty hard.
oooh we went to Vue de Monde for lunch on Sunday. once in a lifetime experience but OMG so amazing!
Well said MP. Cass when are you going back to be reviewed by your doc?
I keep hearing of this 1.2.3. Magic bizzo. What's the gist of it? We've had the boundary pushing too, I whined about it a few posts back. It's absolutely worst when it's me and E alone, I find it completely exhausting. I've started sending her to time out in the hallway, she screams like her heart is breaking so it's quite harrowing, I would welcome some kind of "Magic" strategy instead.
MP - I'm guessing Vue de Monde is some swizzo restaurant? Why once-in-a-lifetime? Did it cost a kidney to get in?
oh MP you know that i could never say no to food!!
and dont worry, no offense here! it is exactly what i have been thinking. feeling a bit sorry for myself today, and then when DH did call and ask if he should come back home, what did i say...no. :wall: WTF is wrong with me??!!!! :wall:
tomorrow i see the GP again and we'll see where i stand a bit better. i was secretly hoping to not have anymore pain and tenderness though :(
(also, sorry for hijacking our wee thread...i am just a bit bummed that i can't get 'normal' sick lol).
what is 1 2 3 Magic? i think whatever it is i need it  L is a bit full on ATM and if it helps understand her then i must have it!
MD: vue is like total spesh! in fact, i think we should all sell a kidney and then have our Sept 07 meet up there
Cass, I really feel for you sweetie. Why do we do that to ourselves? It took me a long time to admit that I might've had a lot more help and support when I was pregnant and barely able to walk if I had just TOLD someone how shockingly appallingly I was NOT coping at the time. You could always ring DH back, you know.
Ring him and tell him to come home.
I'll PM you about food. If Dh is working I think he is close to our place so he may be able to collect it. If not I will drive it over to you on weekend.

I agree with the others Cass, ring and get him home. He has rocks in his head for even going in at all today! If it is rheumatic fever then it is serious. Like scary serious. Especially since your heart is inflamed - it can cause long term damage to your heart valves. Not a time to be messing around with politeness. Put yourself first girly!
The 1.2.3. Magic thing is the counting evenly giving them a chance to stop what they are doing and then a time out when you get to 3? We already sort of do that and it works most of the time. Except when he keeps doing it and says he will stop when I get to 2. Grrrrr.
We got the new attitude a few months back but he seems to have settled again now. Apart from the hand. If I am telling him off he puts out his hand and says he can't hear me!! Nothing makes you want to slap someone more than getting the 'talk to the hand'!
MP, DH and I keep being amazed at how much of a big boy W seems all of a sudden. He randomly started cleaning the lounge after dinner the other night and we were staring at each other thinking WTF!, then he piled it all in the corner and asked if cleaning up had earned him any money lmao!
We've got 1-2-3 Magic and sort of use it, but not specifically. It's very big on only counting for behaviour you want to stop, but rewarding for behaviour you want (ie count for whinging, banging, noise but reward for getting dressed, tidying up etc). Sometimes though we have a complete meltdown when we start counting, just the threat of counting seems to really set her off sometimes and I'm not sure what to do about that.
On a plus side we seem in the last fortnight to have progressed to DD getting dressed all by herself. She has been able to for yonks, but preferred me to do it and I have folded because I am soft and mornings are a bit of a rush, but I put my foot down last week. Seems to be working, she and DH have a race each morning, but sometimes she starts before he's even out of the shower. I've got a little chart up that she can tick off for her jobs. They are taking her night time nappy off, getting dressed, putting shoes on, putting cutlery on the table and emptying her lunch box.
Cass - I'm not sure what to say apart from 'you're a duffer!!' Why did you say no??? Not that I can talk, no is hardly in my vocabulary. Hope the doctor's trip goes well tomorrow, you really need a couple of nice quiet days with nothing to stress about.
*sigh* Sounds like I invented 1-2-3 magic about 13 years ago, then. Except I count to 5 because it allows for increasing dramatic effect on 3 and 4. In fact, I often hear myself saying, "Don't make me count!" Except it's usually when she's not doing something I asked (ie dancing around instead of sitting down eating her breakfast).
Cass, hope it doesn't feel like we are picking on you or your DH (well, maybe your DH a bit), just a lot of concern in here. You took tonsillitis to the extreme, would hate to see you do the same with this  Please, please rest. Make sure you utilize your DH and friend fully over the next couple of days, they want to help so don't be afraid to ask.
Cally, I cracked it with W about a week ago with his shoes - same story, has been able to do his own shoes for well over a year but wouldn't do one particular pair and I was indulging him but mean mumma came out the other day 'cos I just can't be bending down to do it now. I still do his socks, lord knows we have had enough tantrums over socks ("BUT THEY ARE TWIIIIIISTTTTEED!) that I just can't be bothered and he is happy enough to sit on the couch where I can reach.
MD, sucks when you pre-invented a product that got someone else rich! I swear my cousin and I invented 2 in 1 shampoo and conditioner when we were little - it was called shamditioner lol
Last thursday we went out for a walk in the snow with snow boots, hats and jackets. Today we went out for a walk in full sunshine with shorts, tee-shirts and skirts!
