i've got a new nephew! born today 9lbs7oz :) yah, going to see him tomorrow morning. i can't believe I'm an aunty!!!
Congrats Aunty G!!
Congrats G - you will be the BEST aunty ever!! and so great for the boys to have a cousin too! YAY!
I am back from Hawaii (best trip ever, will pop back later to telll you more) and back at work! Had N's party yest (45 kids!!) - was amazing, he loved it and it went so well so i am thrilled.
Anyway, all crazy here - have missed you all.
Will come back soon for more updates and personals.
xxx
spooky! i was just thinking of you MP and wondering if you were back from the holiday of a lifetime!!!
G: congratulations on the newest arrival to your family!!! Aunty! i am jealous...something i will never be!
Congratulations Ginger, so glad everything went well :)
MP - Wow you are amazing, jetting back from Hawaii (and I know that is a long flight have checked that one out!!) and having a huge bday party! Organised hehe
wow 45 kids!!! that is a massive party! LOL
my little nephew is soooo cute. he is really stocky and compact with the fattest cheeks ever. sooooooo clucky!!!!
Congratulations Aunty G - how exciting, he sounds so gorgeous. I know it seems like he's so little now but in no time he will be in the thick of things with his cousins!
MP - wonder woman flies again! LOL I'm exhausted at the thought of having just 12 kids here on the weekend LOL. Mind you there's no way we could squeeze 45 people in here...we max out around the 25 mark.
Cass how are you feeling, still on the mend?
Arte, how is the Divine Miss E this week?
Well I'm going to get in early and say a very happy birthday to Sarah and Maddie for tomorrow!! :birthday2:
MP - 45 kids - are you out of your mind?! Abi is having her party at a local park (to keep the mess out of my house!) this Sun, and we've only invited immediate family (my and DH's parents, siblings and their kids). That makes 9 kids under 5 and 16 adults - plenty enough for me!!
ginger - sounds like you're lining up for a third baby - do it!!
Cass - i hope Vlado the Bulgarian Chinese medicine man is better than the Scottish Chinese medicine man that i am seeing at the moment for induction accupuncture - hasn't seemed to do me any good yet has it?!
cally - the bridesmaid dress sounds great, although i can't believe it is your first strapless number - i love a good strapless dress!!
Afm - fed up. I expected to go overdue again, but given this is #3 i was hoping it woukdn't be by more than a week... Have an ultrasound tomorrow (my first since 20wks) to check everything is OK, followed by an Ob appt. He is going on holidays for a month on fri so if i don't pop by then i will get his partner who i have never met...
Ella: oh you must be a bit fretful with the prospect of possibly a new, unknown OB  hope that the scan goes well and there isnt too much pressure xx I know that it is the cruelest thing to say from this end, but it won't be too much longer....i know i know...tell that to the hips/ribs/ankles/stretched guts lol...
MP: 45 kids. i passed out just reading it hahahaha.
we are having the girls' party this weekend. had to postpone thanks to all that illness that overtook the house; but now i am really excited and can't wait! Marta's naming ceremony is being incorporated and it looks to be alot of fun!
MD: we are definitely recovering  it is just joyful! i don't want to be sick again...here's to Vlado fixing me up good hahahaha.
G: *mwah* i would be soooo clucky too! i saw a chick at birthday party on the weekend that was due that day and her big gorgeous phat belly just sent me into romantic rose coloured glasses cluckiness....i am incorrigible lol.
AFM: well i am hoping that leila is going through a growing phase as she is still sleeping this morning! 7.30am is a rare occurence in this house! she even did a big afternoon nap yesterday which is just unheard of. she seems happy in herself, so i am putting it down to growing...which she has evidently done as i bought a pair of (gorgeous!) shoes for her online from tiny threads (BIG sale) and i got them in a size bigger than her one now...and the little blighter has grown so much in the last 1.5 weeks that she doesnt fit them!!!!!!! i am bummed!!
Hi Girls
Ok trying to catch up on all the posts and do some personals and tell you all that’s been happening with me – lets see how that goes!!
Firstly – I wanted to wish all the bubbas (well big kids!) the happiest birthdays ever – I hope turning 4 was great for all of them (I know a few to come) – I love how each birthday gets more and more exciting for them! Also of course happy bday to MD – sorry I missed them all when I was away! Noah had a super bday – he had a cake at Kinder before we left (they wear the birthday crown and have a great little ceremony with their friends) and then his actual bday when we were away… we spent that morning wandering china town, went out for lunch and then made yummy choc cupcakes decorated with spiderman lollies for arvo tea! He had a great day – topped off by lots of beach play!! Then of course there was a HUGE party on Sunday after we got home – it was amazing! I am totally crazy but not certifiable – so it wasn’t at my place!!! Hired a hall that has a great park at the back and it was a gorgeous day so it went so well! Had 2 clowns to entertain and my mum and MIL took care of a lot of the food for the adults! I did the kids stuff – most of it before I left and a HUGE action list posted to the fridge to put into action when we got back. Everyone had an amazing time – most importantly Noah! I have had heaps of positive feedback too so feeling good about that! I made all the food into lkitttle individual food boxes for the kids – so that took care of decorations too. And I bought an ice cream cake (lucky as they are all the rage with his kinder class and they were chanting ‘ice cream cake, ice cream cake!!!’. One of the best things I made was jelly cups – made in plastic ****tail glasses in all diff colours and set them up outrside on a table to eat during clown show etc. they looked GREAt and were so easy and the kids loved them! In the food boxes each kid got a sandwich, a yoghurt, fruit cup, chips and a mini pack of 2 oreos. Huge hit! And for takehome bags thgey got face paints, a bag of fairy floss and some ‘shrinkies’ that I brought back from the USA. All is all it was relatively easy and so much fun!
Arte – how are you going with Miss E? she is sooooo super cute! It sounds like W is adjusting beautifully – how is A doing now? If we had a 3rd N would be awesome, but I think J would kill him/her!
G – I am still so thrilled for you re your nephew! He is lucky to have you as an aunt (and your bank balance will be thankful it isn’t a girl LOL). How is DHs job going? Any updated time for L’s operation? The cubby house sounds unbelievable – will be great in your garden, cant wait to see pics!
Cass – glad you are feeling better! Am sure the party will be gorgeous! What do you do for the naming ceremony? One of my good friends is a v good TCM practitioner – I am about to go to her for a detox and immune boost myself!
Trill – I don’t know if I wrote since you finished your prac??? It sounded like it went so well and you are such a natural! How much longer have you got for your course? Pls post pics of the rainbow cake, I am intrigued!
Ella – (YAY YOU ARE BACK!!!!!!!!) – surely it cant be much longer????!!!!! The party sounds great! Youa re brave building a house – we are about to sell our old place in Canberra and then buy or build a new house here… I don’t think I can do the building thing – we may buy an iolder house and renovate (that’s kind of my favoured option anyway – old on the outside and modern inside). I am totally bummed you aren’t still here so we could meet (esp as we are neighbours!)
MD – those Naplan scores sound amazing! Hopefully she has had enough of a fright she will apply herself now – a better age to have that scare than at 16 or 18! How is work going these days?
Cally - dress sounds gorgeous!!!! YAY for strapless, every girl should have afew of them! Hope Kokos didnt let you down!
Isa - did you end up weaning? (we were discussing before I left I think). the flight home was pretty hell as we were coming from maui so it was 3 planes (3 picking up luggage etc) and a 4am start = 20 hours!!!!! boys were so amazing though! they became so close on hols - always benn great together but a whole new level of closeness! GORGEOUS! are you planning a trip? I cant recommend highly enough!
Sorry to anyone I have missed – I have to go, will come back and do more soon xxx
First, Happy Birthday to Maddie and Sarah!
MP, far out your posts make me tired! 45 kids!! You are crazy!! But it sounds like it went really well. But of course it did with you at the helm :)
Ella, hope there is some news from you really soon xx
Ginger, congrats on aunthood!
Cass, how is the sick going? Hope everyone is over it now.
Cally, hope you are enjoying your time off
Just a quicky from me. So far everything is going really well with three, the biggest sacrifice is my computer time. Erin is just lovely. She generally naps for a few hours in the morning and again in the evening with a few small naps in between. Quite often she sleeps though the whole evening drama which makes life easier. It is early days, but maybe, just maybe she is different to the others. She actually sleeps in the car! And I have seen her wake, open her eyes and then go back to sleep or I can cuddle her back to sleep. The other two would snap wide awake as soon as they stirred and then they had to be fed instantly or they would scream - they never ever self settled, right from day one so hopefully she is an upgraded model with a sleep function!
The big kids are going well. W is really shining. He is turning into a super confident, caring, polite boy. He has really grown up since Erin arrived. A is still having a bit of an issue with the baby - she likes E and kisses her all the time but gets very upset if DH is holding her.
hi girls
happy bday sarah and maddie xo
arte- i hope E turns out to be an updated sleep version 3.0 for you. fingers crossed! its looking good so far.
mp- that party sounds fab. you are such a super star. how is n going at kinder? still loves it?
looks like my dh might be heading over to see dr snip soon. i'm 'ok' about it. i completely understand, respect and half agree with his reasons.
the weather here has turned to **** again. L's best friend has an outdoor pony party on sat morning and its looking like hail :(
Wow G I dont know how I would feel if DH wanted to see Dr Snip. I am so not ready for anything that final (so I guess I DO know how I would feel)
Its Jewish New Year today - hosted the family last night... delicious but man i am tired!!!! dont have much on for the weekend and I am glad (busy couple of days at work too).
I hope the weather improves by Sat G - a pony party sounds amazing!
Arte - I hope E is the upgraded version (love that!). The laws of probability are surely in your favour.
hi girls!
MP: that party sounded so fabulous! I am jealous lol! i am stil freaking out about our party here on Sunday...especially if the weather remains crapulent.
G: eeekkk! Dr Snip is very Serious. DH was going to get the snip after M was born, but now we are not so sure...having so much fun with the girls that the cluckiness is still there (we are not 100% sure). no doubt, as MD (?) said a while back, that the urge will fade as the girls get older...but for the moment we are holding off Dr Snip plans. I hope that you are ok about it  (FWIW, my mate got the snip done, but as a stop gap measure also put away a few of the boys for a rainy day ...and sure enough...they are now 14 weeks pg...could be a nice transition IYKWIM...makes it feel a bit less final ITMS).
Arte: ohhh i think she might just be the newest model for real lol! and it is so lovely to hear that W is doing so well, especially with the improvements in sleep
wonder how Ella is doing????
AFM: well, we are all good. Stuck in the house today thanks to crap weather. but i have loads of work to do with the book chapter that i have suddenly found myself writing lol! i will be published again! been a long time between drinks hahahaha. also got my first real paycheck in quite a few years yesterday!!! ahhh so nice to actually be paid for work! now to just get paid to raise kids haha.
not sure if i updated about the meeting with the UN lady?! anyway, that went really well and it looks like we will be developing training programs together that wil help government, media, ngos etc deal with issues surrounding human trafficking, sex slave trade and child labour (yeah, light stuff lol). she gave me the warning that it is a tough and confronting job, but I feel ready IYKWIM. i need to do this. this is what all this crazy study has been for IYKWIM.
wow cass- that work sounds really full on but totally necessary iykwim? I'm sure you'll have really difficult moments but I'm also sure that you'll have some wonderful rewards too.
my dh would never do the put some boys away thing. he is very black and white about things- has a very strong personality (but i think its actually what i find so attractive about him)- he is quite a hard man and once he has made his mind up he cannot be swayed. like i said, i am 50/50 on having a 3rd child- sometimes i want one, but honestly, i mostly don't want one itms? he has his reasons and i feel that i have to respect his decision. it feels very final but i have to say, i also feel very blessed and lucky with what i have. i think maybe the snip might be good for both of us because it stops the confusion for me and i can just concentrate on how wonderful what i already have is. does that make any sense at all?
cass- apparently sunday isn't supposed to be too bad weather wise at this stage. sat looks like a shocker though.
It sounds like the best thing for your family then G... I am still torn, but i def am more in the zone of enjoying what I have at the moment rather than pining for more. J has grown up so much in the last few weeks - its amazing! the last 2 days he has gotten himself up out of bed... bizarre!!! i kind of had to teach N to do that a few months ago! his talking is amazing too and the last 2 days he didnt cxry when I dropped him at CC. so not a baby now! I am lking haing the 2 of them a little older ands more easy to do things with IYKWIM but I am def not ready to close the door on just one more! I reckon Dh and I will only really decide that when it feels age wise like I need to decide (when is that???)
My Mum took N to see the Lion King today. lucky boy!
I have to say I am loving having three! It is busy, but I don't need to eat during the day anyway lol
MP, how did the Lion King go? My kids wouldn't wear the (massively oversized) glasses at Cars 2 so had to watch it fuzzy - I won't be taking them to 3D again for a while.
Cass, congrats on payday!! I was just wondering about the UN lady - sounds like a great opportunity!
Ella, hope you have been too busy having a baby to post :)
G, I hope that everything goes well with Dr Snip. I really don't think DH is ever going to actually do it so I may have to look seriously at getting my tubes tied at some point.
Trill and MD, hope everything is going well for you both.
A was sick today - temp around 40 degrees but had freezing cold hands and was shivering. I took her to the Dr and ended up with the 'fluids and panadol' cure, but I guess it is better to be safe than sorry. Lucky it is free to take under 5's :)
Arte how is A today? I truly hope that E is the bells and whistles 3.0 version complete with sleep LOL. I hope she is nothing like MY E who was, shall I say, high maintenance ;)
G, that is so exciting for your family! Did she end up having the c/s at all? Or is that a different SIL? G, I sometimes thought I would LOVE another baby, but it is the idea of it rather than the reality - maybe that's the point you're at now? THe older the kids get it is definitely easier to put those feelings to rest forever. Now I'm at the point now where I would terminate a pg if the vasectomy failed and we got pg. I look at other women with tiny babies and toddlers and all the junk you need for them and think thank god that's not me! So while it's an emotion that can be really strong, I think it's one that you do eventually transition out of kwim?
MP, you never cease to amaze me with the way you take all these big events in your stride and cater for 50,000 people LOL. I bet the boys had so much fun at the party!
Cass, I'm so excited for you with your UN gig! I can only imagine how tough it will be at times and my only advice to you on that is to think of all the people you will help by what you are doing. And how are you feeling in general? I hope that you are OK
MD, is everything OK with H? Or are you just asking questions about phones etc to be prepared?
And a huge belated HAPPY BIRTHDAY to Sarah and Maddie!!!!!
hi girls
trill- she ended up having an emergency c-section- so i was pleased that she at least attempted a vaginal birth. I'm not sure if i mention fit in here, but she ended up contacting me and asking me for some advice and so i had a big chat with her and ended up dropping a heap of books over to her house inc. pinky, science of parenting, aba book etc. i also have convinced her to breastfeed!!!! which is a huge step and so far she has him completely on the boob which is great!
totally get where you are at with not wanting more bubs. i am very 'nearly' there. i just had a look through some old baby pics of the boys and they were just so beautiful. it is such a magical time in your life.
just a quicky- we are seriously considering biting the bullet and paying for L to get his tonsils out with a private surgeon. we're just so sick of him being constantly sick. do you think we're crazy to even be considering this? i have one recommendation. does anyone else have any suggestions? thanks
G, I don't think you are crazy at all - I would probably do the same. Six months is a long time to wait if he is getting constantly sick.
Trill, I so hope my E isn't high maintenance! I already have two of those! I think/hope she is going to be my cruisy kid :) A is still a bit sick today, but it is hard to tell if she is sick cranky or just her normal cranky lol. It isn't uncommon for her to spend several hours a day following someone around crying.
he won't eat and he looks like ****. its breaking my heart. i think we've just gotta do it.
I would do it G. You could be on the list for longer than 6 months if they don't think it is urgent enough. You will get a reasonable amount back from medicare and then anything over $1500 you are out of pocket you can also claim back on your tax return as well. Thats a real bummer that she had to have a c/s. I hope she is dealing with that OK.
Arte, I hope A is better tomorrow
G, Must be hard seeing him sick all the time.
Ella, where are you? Anyone heard any news?
Noni has disappeared off my FB. I hope everything is alright with her - has anyone been in contact with her?
Spent the day cleaning up spew - both W and A were going. At least after the first one W made it to the toilet in time. I guess we were probably due - I think it was A's first ever spew bug. Hopefully they are better tomorrow or my washing machine is going to burn out!
I am really enjoying the newborn stage this time! She is just so sweet :) She has been doing little smiles for me since she was a few days old and the other day she did the thing when they first almost laugh but the noise gives them a fright - very cute. She is on the verge of the adorable baby babble.
Surely Ella has popped?
G - I'd go down the private route, poor little thing getting sick. I don't know much about tonsils, but does it help over summer because there aren't as many colds around? If so, it might be worth waiting and reasses in Feb or so?
Arte - touch wood, we still haven't had a spew bug from K. She's only vomitted twice and both were part of bad coughs. Speaking of which, she seems to have a bad cough at night time at the moment.
We had a good time in Canberra. I went shopping with my engaged sister and spent a fortune on some really nice clothes. Will be looking very stylish if the weather ever warms up!!!
Also, had a good chat with pregnant sister - she is booked into the birth centre and is trying for a VBAC. Very different to last time when she was very ob led and had a C section because she was 10 days over and showing no signs of labour. Hopefully it all works out. But man, she looks so stuffed at the moment.
My mum and engaged sister came down for a couple of days too. I did a Jillian Michaels (Biggest Loser USA trainer) DVD yesterday with sis and today and man I am really feeling it.
Wow Cally - 4 years without a spew bug is an achievement! Yay for the nice clothes!
oohh cally you lucky thing getting new clothes! i actually got a bit of tax money recently so i bought myself a few nice new things too. I've done a big clean out and thrown out a lot of clothes that no longer fitted and bought some lovely new size 14 stuff to help me feel better about my new size :)
hey what area do you live in again? i am probably way off, but is it anywhere near callala beach?
arte- you have gotta stop, you are making me bl22dy clucky!!!
i have got the name of the recommended surgeon and will give them a call on monday- see how much it will be, how long the wait will be etc. and then probably come on here and ask you all to help me make a decision lol
trill- I've gotta spread the love but thanks so much for your advice. i didn't know that about the tax. this is what i love about bb. so much useful info!!!!!
Gnger - we're about an hour south of Callala Beach. Batemans Bay, yesterday the scene of 4 boating deaths (no life jackets.....).
Arte - yeah, we're pretty lucky. DH had a really bad gastro bout when she was about 3 months old where he isolated himself in his room and we would sit in the middle of the lounge and wave at him, but luckily he kept it to himself (and it was probably the first time he cleaned the bathroom)
Morning Ladies. Long time not post. Life was a little too chaotic for a while there. Who am i kidding, it still is! I had a bit of a BB break, but wanted to pop in to see how you were all going.
Wishing all the beautiful babies a happy fourth birthday. What a shock it is to have such grown up little people eh? I know its inevitable but still, unbelievable none the less.
L and S are great, S is a bit of a handful atm. Super strong willed and defiant. A characteristic associated with the second born i wonder? Little Miss P has been a bit of a challenge. She cried a lot in the beginning. She is on Losec now for reflux and is much more settled. Not a fantastic day sleeper, but does very well over night so that's ok. Life is a little more manageable with a decent nights sleep. Only problem is the Losec is only stable for 6 weeks and then the suspension disassociates and i cant get more here?! But i'll be back in November and i can get more then if she still needs it. Lucky she is cute or i may have sold her at the local market early on. ;)
JM it's so great to hear from you! I saw L's pic on fb with her written thank you note and I was so impressed! I support your theory about defiant and strong willed second-born children LOL! Poor little Pepe though. It sucks to have a bub with reflux.
Just realised I missed a few posts on the last page!
Cally, your trip sounded like so much fun! WooHoo on the new clothes too! I loved having the excuse of prac to lash out and buy a heap of new things to wear. I really hope your sister gets her VBAC too. Did you go to Koko black? I had a few days off the net and didn't get the instructions about where to find it, but MIL brought me back some Lindsay& Edmunds chocolate from floriade so it was still a win!
G, when DH had his knees done we were still close to $3500 out of pocket because of all the additional scans and meds because of the blod clot and I knew that you could claim it on your tax if it was over a certain amount. I think it is only 20 cents in the dollar but every bit you get back helps!
Arte, how are the kids today?
HOlidays have been OK so far. decided to have a few days away from the computer and lasted from Friday night till Wednesday morning and only buckled because DH needed me to do some paperwork for him. It was a good break - I got stuck back into some cross stitch that I haven't finished so I've been sitting up till the wee hours doing that.
Got results back from two assignments and got 72% for both of them! One was a HSIE essay that I had an extension on and the other was a maths subject where we had to watch a video of a child, make an assessment of him and where he is at on the learning continuum and then say what activities we needed to do with him to help him. I think I would have gotten a better mark only my activities were a bit average. I got all the assessment part right though which I think was the more important part of the assignment anyway. So I'm really happy with that. I think I will only manage a credit pass for all the subjects this semester though which is OK.
cally - we might be going on a holiday to callala beach so i was hoping it was a little closer to you :( oh well!
trill- you have done soooo well to get a credit. congrats! i honestly don't know how you're doing it.
cubby house is up for those who are interested- check out fb. dh put it together today :)
G, cubby house is awesome! They will have heaps of fun in it! I love the little flower boxes out the front - are you going to put in a little herb garden or something?
Trill, nothing at all wrong with credit passes! You are doing so well xx
JM, if by strong willed and defiant you mean grizzles all the time and doesn't listen to anything she is told then I would agree it is a second child thing! A drives me a bit mental actually. She just doesn't do anything I ask - W always had a need to please but she just doesn't care. Only listens when it suits. And the grizzling! OMG, she just follows us around crying! Hoping she grows out of it really soon.
Could you get the Losec pills shipped over and grind them up?
Kids were better today so we went to the trout farm to have a look. E slept there and back, as well as while we were there! So nice to have a baby that sleeps in the car! Then at tea time A took one look at her dinner and spewed up again :(
Arte - hope A is on the mend tomorrow.
Ginger - that cubby house looks so cool. The boys will have a ball in there.
Trill - wow, that is a big effort staying away from the computer for that long. I would really struggle with that (unless I was on a tropical island.....)
Credit is good Trill. You're not far off a distinction, ya never know. :-) Since kinder, L really loves to write, she needs help though, she certainly didn't do that totally unassisted! ;) She asks which letter comes next and sometimes she forgets how to write them, and asks me to do it on another piece of paper for her to copy.
Arte- i do have some backup pills, but apparently it's hard to give it without damaging the little 'bits'. The suspension is much more effective apparently, but the pills will be better than nothing. I really, really struggle with whinging. It drives me crazy. I really try hard not to speak to them if they whinge at me. I tell them i can't understand them. It does my freaking head in.
On the topic of whinging.... why isn't whinging a word? My spell checker doesn't recognise it. Don't they whinge in America? Only whine?
Coolest cubby G. Did it come flat packed?
Far out Cally- 4 people dying in a boating accident?! I can't believe people would be out to sea with no life jackets. So sad. You've really been getting into the fitness i noticed on FB. I need to get motivated and shed these excess kgs. I feel terrible, worst spare tyre ever.
OMG, this is Marta :o
G: DO IT! if you can spare it, or find it, or scrape it together, I would do it! It was amazing how instant the relief was, and how i just immediately became healthy ITMS. while the tonsils were in i was just under constant onslaught and it was too hard for my body to get over it all ITMS. I can HIGHLY recommend the surgeon we used (John Kennedy based through st vincents). I'll PM you his contacts. he is fantastic and i found to be very straightforward. we paid all up $1500. but i would hazard that it might be cheaper for a child?
Cally: that is cool about the shopping trip. i am quite jealous! unfortunately i spent my first pay on the kids birthday and presents etc arghhhh! next one has to be mine
Arte: oohhhh aaahhh, spew bug! L vomited the other night and i swear (and sorry for TMI :TMI:) it was 3 times her body size. it was immense. turned out it was some dodgy food from frikkin kindy. was not impressed.
oohh and i LOVE those newborn smiles! i was so amazed at how Marta also started smiling at only 2 days old. it was amazing!
Trill: congratulations on the fantastic marks!!! you are going to make a great teacher :loveshower:
JM: welcome back to the fold babe!! argh, sorry to hear that little P has reflux :(. I had it as a baby and Mum reckons it was just plain un-fun for a while there . hopefully she conquers it all soon!
and you are sooo right, she is just smooshy goodness and cuteness!!!!! seeing little Ps pics makes me sooo clucky!!!!
AFM: totally destroyed by the girls' party today! DH did NOTHING to help (despite assuring me that he was going to do a BBQ as we had decided previously to get catering done). i had to cook, prepare, buy everything all by myself as well as still look after the girls and cook dinner/breakfast/lunch for everyone (DHs mum is visiting from italy on top of it all). i got really cross today when i realised that he was just drinking and eating and there i was cooking, and doing all the rest as well as watching the girls etc. then he got really drunk and passed out on the couch after everyone had left and left me to CLEAN it all up!!! (can you tell i am angry hahahahaha?!). anyway, he owes me BIG time.
the party itself was wonderful though! lovely naming ceremony for Marta. the celebrant was brilliant. i made an awesome toadstool cake and a ballerina cake for Leila. i am bummed though that there was no photo of the ballerina cake...but oh well!
the girls had a blast of a time and the other kids were wonderful. and the sun actually SHINED!!!!!! :leap: proving that miracles do happen (for those non melbourne...it has been raining and cold for a week now!).
the wether definitely came out for you today cass :) that is brilliant. any pics? or were you too busy cooking unassisted to take photos? bl88dy dh!!! hope he has a hangover.
please please please pm me. i will call dr tomorrow.
just PMd you!
we have some pics...but they are mostly blurry and a million of the one frame lol (DH took them after too many beers).
Cass - it's been cold and dreary here too. Seems crazy to be into daylight savings now and still have the heating on! Glad the party went well, sounds like DH owes you big time!!!
JM - yeah, getting into the fitness thing. I took my measurements the other day and it was just scary. I knew there was a spare tyre, but hadn't realised how big it was. Yeah, the accident wasn't very good, a 10 year old and her two grandparents died and they haven't been able to find an uncle's body. There was an 11 year old that did survive. It was a pretty calm day, no-one knows why it tipped, a freak thing. But if they'd had their life jackets on, they probably all would have survived. I just get frustrated with people underestimating the power of the sea. We've already had some swimmer deaths this season, people who can't swim getting out of their depth and caught in rips.
Trill - we made it to Koko Black and had a lovely morning tea. DH still has some of a voucher to use which expires at Christmas so we have to fit another trip in before then.
So awful Cally - I remember accidents like that at the south coast as a kid... would think the last 25 yrs of education would make a difference. its a terribly sad story - I hope it leads to more life jacket wearing!
G - Callala is v pretty - jervis bay is one of my fave areas! the cubby is BEYOND awesome - lucky lucky boys! hope it gets a lot of use over the summer. I am with the others - get them out, he has had so much sickness and if you can affo5rd not to wait then I would call and get him seen/bookedin. health is something that is always worth the investment IMO.
JM - good to hear from you! i was also super impressed with the writing! Sorry P has reflux - did either S or L?
Arte - you sound so happy. Glad version 3 does seem to come with requested upgrades! I agree with the 2nd child thing. J is delightful but HARD work! he does play alone more than N though!
Trill - good on you! great results!
Cass - party sounds great. Grrrr to DH. so not on! how long is your MIL here for (and is she a help at all?)
AFM all is well. had a nice weekend. tackled the boys toys cupbiard in my 'me time' sat morning. have a whole heap tpo donate to charity - things they just dont use. have mad e anew tradirtion that at each bday the boys donate some toys after they open their gifts. i do find how much 'stuff' they get pretty crazy...
Do any of you have any strategies to deal with lying? I have found N making stuff up - nothing bad - but wondering how I teach him??? assume its a normal thing?
mmmmm koko black mmmmm.
that is sad about the boating accident, especially as the deaths could of been avoided with simple safety measures. you are right, it is mostly people just underestimating the power of the water. it may look calm, but a few heavy clothes, one random wave or a strong current...
