Awww Sept07 mummies love-in!

Hey, quick question for Sunday - is mine the only kidlet that's still not dry overnight? We stopped putting her in pull-ups about a month ago, and she's still wetting - doesn't even necessarily wake up for it.

Leila is now pretty much dry. (bar the occasional slip-up if she is sick or has gone to bed waaaayyyy tired).

Its a tricky one to know what to do MD. I never used the pullups with any of mine - if they were still wetting overnight I used a nappy. I've heard mixed stories about them though - some say the pullups are a godsend and that they will learn to be dry in their own time, and others have said that it can make them a bit lazy and they know they will work like a nappy. But I don't reckon E is lazy. If she isn't waking when she wets then maybe she's one of the kids who will just get dry in her own time kwim? have you tried waking her during the night to take her to the loo? When mine were still transitioning from nappies at night to pants, I would cut back drinks an hour before bedtime, take them to the loo at bedtime and then again when I went to bed to make sure they had an empty bladder for the rest of the night. We didn't have many accidents at all doing that. Is E a heavy sleeper? I know one of my brothers had problems with wetting for ages because he was such a heavy sleeper that he just could not wake himself up to go.

And I totally agree on the support network we've created for ourselves. Honestly, you guys and the mods are the only reason why I keep coming back here. I've just outgrown it now and if it wasn't for the friendships I have with you all I don't think I'd come here as much, if at all. When I see people post that they are leaving because they don't 'fit' I totally understand that, but the friendships is what keeps me here. Yeah I may have outgrown it, but I wont have the contact with you all if I go. I can totally see us sitting in a park or a cafe and talking about the exact same things we talk about on here.

Well this maths exam is doing my head in! I would gladly swap this exam for a 4hour exam solving maths problems LOL. I've had too much on to be able to study properly for it too. I've been listening to lectures all morning and madly making notes, but it just isn't gelling! So I came on here for a quick break. Even if I fail the exam I will pass the subject, but that just seems like taking the easy way kwim?

MD, I think W learned alright in pull ups. He was using them at night and was dry most of the time and begged to wear undies to bed. He had a few accidents and I threatened him with having pull ups again and he stayed dry. I made sure he went to the toilet before bed and limited drinks like Trill. He was up umpteen times every night but never needed to pee or wet the bed. I think there is a correlation between heavy sleepers and taking longer to night train than light sleepers (which W obviously is).

Trill, I probably would have left BB ages ago if I hadn't had such an amazing 07 group. I love logging in and finding a new post in the thread

The kids are outside playing by themselves, and the baby is asleep in her cot, by herself! Good kids

I had a long talk with W's kindy teacher today. I asked for some reader books since he is doing really well with his reading - half way through reading eggs in a month. They have already been watching him and suspect he falls in the gifted category. I am still not sure if he is actually gifted or just very bright iykwim.

Had to pop on and say I AGREE SO MUCH re the support in here. It is basically the only reason I log on to BB anymore, I have so little time but I have to come in and see how everyone is and I LOVE when I have posts to catch up on. As I have said many times I am so sorry I am MIA so much, but our friendship means so much to me. You guys have been a massive part of my life for about 5 years now – and you know so much about me, from the parenting journey to just everyday life. So thank you!
We are back from Sydney – had the most awesome time! Was quick but fantastic. Had a great family gathering on Sat – at a place in Putney – a long drive for us but so much fun. It is a massive park on the river complete with water park type thing (all free) – kids had a ball. There were heaps of us including about 12 kids 6 and under – FUN! Mum was with us and stayed with us so I got to go out fri and sat night with friends – perfect!
MD – re the night training… N never used pull ups so I am not sure. He asked for no nappy at night and we took it from there – so I never used pull ups day or night. We had a few weeks (maybe months) woth some wet beds ( I used a mattress prorectior and also one of those ones that goes OVER the sheet at the right place) and he soon grew out of it. To be honest, I think wetting the bed a few times maybe helped him be aware??? Now he doesn’t even get up in the night, he just goes first thing in the morning. I never did the wake him up thing either… but maybe I had it easy???
I am actually just thinking about toilet training J. to be honest I am scared of the hard work involved!!!

yes we are heading off to sydney tomorrow after all. surgeon said he should be fine with panadol and ear plugs. kit kat just went mia when i had to drop her at the cattery but luckily showed up eventually! we are in the middle of packing and getting organised. mil is already acting like a crazy person as a hairdresser has apparently completely ruined her hair and she ended up screaming at the girl 'it's my son's wedding!!!' can't you just imagine it? lol
yes i feel that i have completely outgrown bb and i only come in here and flick through new posts to see if anything catches my eye. very over all the newborn baby stuff though (sorry arte, i know you're in the thick of it atm!!!). sep 07 is the only thing that keeps me checking in every day, just to see whats happening. sometimes i don't post but i usually know whats going on. its become such a habit now, that i feel weird if i haven't read the thread for a few days.

Happy Birthday G, hope you have fun in Sydney and the flight goes well. Our cat always goes missing when she sees the box - last time K locked her in the bathroom before we went!

Bummer, K is going to miss a little friends birthday when we are up in Canberra for the Wiggles.

We are nowhere near dry overnight. She still wears the proper nappies but the stand up ones. We've probaly had 4-5 times when she has come in the middle of the night and asked for help to go to the toilet, but that's all. She appeared at 1am this morning because she had bumped her head, but she'd already wet her nappy. We always make her sit on the toilet before she goes to bed (and after we've done stories). DH wet the bed until he was about 7 or 8 so I don't have high hopes! I am also enjoying my sleep too much to go and wake her in the middle of the night. And I tend to go to bed about 9:30, so not really late enough to take her to the loo before I go.

OMG, that would of been quite full on with the yelling in the hairdressers lol. My Mum had a similar disaster at her besties wedding, where the woman gave her such a bad haircut, and thankfully in this case Mum's lack of tact worked, because when she asked what mum thought, mum turned around and said: "i look like the effin' queen's mother' it was soooo embarrassing and yet so so hilarious....because it really was a gross hairstyle lol.

Cally: i reckon you could still give it a shot to get her to go at 9.30. that said, i reckon they all just grow out of it eventually, so maybe there is seriously little need to push it!

Hi everyone. I have been really busy but have nothing to report. My father has been over from Australia so he was here two nights in a row, then last night some friends came over for tea.

Erin got better from cold #2 and then a couple of days later she was blocked up with cold #3! I cannot believe it!

I might be on ACA soon - some local lady was pretending to represent Jason Cole man and trying to scam my gym teacher and somehow they found out about it (his mum wasn't impressed - about the scam and ACA) and interviewed him this afternoon, filmed us all doing a step class (keep an eye out for the lady down the front in the purple top) before confronting her in the carpark (such classic television!!)

Arte - hope you had a good visit with your Dad.

Bahaha Cally. Do you remember our SupaBlondie was on the telly doing an exercise class in an episode of ?McLeods. LOL It's a Sept07 mummies tradition LOL. Your 2 and a half seconds of fame (and at least the ACA story isnt' some kind of scandal over there being no poo in the pipes PMSL).

Arte, that's rotten she's having so many colds. Is she miserable with it or just snotty? I hope your dad's visit went well.

When's G getting home from Sydney? I hope you have a lovely time my dear, try to ignore MIL's performance best you can.

MP you trip sounds great and the water park thing sounded like so much fun. We went to a couple of waterparks when we were in QLD, not sure if they're the same kind of thing as that one.

E had her vaccination today (thanks for the reminder CAlly, we had the letter too). She didn't cry, she'd been with the FDC lady when her DD had hers and it sounds like the nurse there is just magic, there was a long story about some chicken who ended up with the pox, and she had to put her arms like ducky wings, etc, and scored a SHOWBAG at the end (!) How good is that? Her arm's a bit sore tonight, though.

Re the night waking - am reassured by your comments. We take her to the toilet before we go to bed, but that doesn't always prevent it. We've just bit the bullet and bought another box of pull ups. We had a chat tonight and she said something about if she feels it coming she will "squeeze it in again" LOL. Hmmm, we'll see. I know it's not an issue at this age.

I am with you on the TT. things happen in their own time and there will be a night when she will tell you that she doesnt want them on anymore. there might be accidents after that, but then they have made that choice and are really thinking about it ITMS.

AFM: well, we are still in sleep deprivation. it seems to be getting worse rather than better. I am up roughly every 1.5 hours with M . i cannot believe it.

Cass, can you believe that there have been times that waking up every 1.5 hours would have been comparatively fantastic around here! I feel bad for you, it sucks the big one. L.A. is getting much closer! Excited or nervous?

I seem to be riding a wave of freebies - my father bought over a microwave for us because it was $700 here and only $230AUD, then he wouldn't take any money for it. Then our friends bought round takeaways the other night and they wouldn't take money either. Now today I went to pick up half a cattle beast of meat from mum and she won't take any bloody money either! Not that we can't use the money for other things, but I feel guilty!
