LOL MD, I will give you a job as CEO of my toilet paper empire. Your Big Girl is growing up into a young woman far too quickly! Hard to believe that she was only as old as my DD1 is now when we had our meet up. So how are you coping with DH away still?

Arte, it was 1 deg here this morning and I thought of you when I turned the heater on at my feet. I hope it's sorted out for you now. I'm dreading getting our power bill this winter.

I have been trying to take a break from Uni while the trimester break is on and it's been great, but now I have this feeling that I am completely left behind and I should have just gotten stuck into it like everyone else seems to have done. There is a fair amount of group work to be done this time and I'm in groups with people who are far more anal retentive and organised than I am and I'm feeling the pressure already.

Also enjoying my new toy too - wishing I got the bigger data pack so I can use it more, but I will see how it goes after the first month.

And A can't wipe his own bum properly yet either and I'm quite happy to wipe it for him if it means there are no skid marks in his jocks

Miss K wipes her bum and then finds me somewhere in the house so I can check it for her - oh the pleasures of being a mum. We have the wet wipes which work well, although I suppose we should practice with paper as they won't have them at school.

COLD this morning - toes still haven't warmed up.

DH gave me a Samsung Nexus for my birthday - pretty excited!! Although my boss rang this morning and I couldn't work out how to answer it..... And then I hung up on a client by switching the power off.....

LOl Cally, I still have moments like that with my phone and I've had it for a few years now and it was never that complicated to start with! Nice phone though.

    Haha Cally, that's funny.

Md- we easily filled the container, which was fantastic. It is still in the shipping process. Believe it or not it can take 6 months to get it through customs. We are still not clear if we will be charged import duties. The final cost will be the determining factor in the decision to do it again or not. We'll be there at least another year, not too sure when we'll come back. When I can't stand it anymore no doubt! Lol.

I caught up with the lovely Ginger and her rockstar.I have to say, he is amazing. He can tell you any number you point to, counts to 100, knows all his letters by sight. I tell ya, the kids amazing! Must get it from hs mum.

Fly home to png on Friday. I am so disorganized, I really need to pack and clean up.

LOL Cally. I often worry that my phone is smarter than me.

G, J sounds awesome Maybe he will be a phD rockstar like Jonathan Davis from Korn

MD, I am totally amazed that H is so big now!!

JM, the school W is going to was 'modernizing', so they were getting rid of the old desks and chairs - instead of doing anything useful with them, the caretaker was unscrewing all the metal bits and burning them!! It was so totally wasteful One of the kindy teachers kept going over for rescue missions and was leaving piles of chairs out the front for people to take home. I went over and got a school desk and a chair for each of the kids. Makes me wonder how many schools are just dumping their old stuff when it could be sent to somewhere that could use it Good on you for organizing the books, I am sure that there will be a lot of grateful children and parents.

Think I found the source of the power leak. There was a random patch of warm floor in the lounge that we wondered about, then there was also a dial on the wall that we thought was something to do with the diesel heating. Then a power guy came out to check why the night rate meter was whirling around so quickly and we discovered the 'pit heating' was the problem. Don't know why we didn't think that the mystery warm spot was controlled by the mystery dial directly above it!! Anyhow, back in the late 70's, a 'conversation pit' was all the rage - a recessed pit in the lounge with seating in it. Our has long since been covered over but there is a slight raise on the floor where the old edge would have been. So we have been heating that all month - at around $3.50 per day!!

Arte - one of the places we lived in America had a 'pit'. It was down in the basement and we just had heaps of cushions in it and used to go crazy diving into it. Had orange shag pile carpet. Glad you found the power leak fairly quickly though.

How old would you let little ones be before leaving them at a birthday party by themselves? Miss K is invited to one on the weekend and I've got no idea if they're expecting me to hang around or not. I've never met the parents (sounded lovely on the phone) and would hardly recognize the little girl.

Did a training day today, including a personality test. I was totally Introvert, not one single point for extrovert. Anyway, in the careers section for my type it recommended Engineer. So I made the right decision there!

Cally, nice that you picked the right career!
I am never sure with the birthday thing. I know that W still won't stay anywhere without me, but A just had a playdate with her friend across the road and I barely got a wave goodbye. I think at the ones I have been to recently there are some parents that stay and some that drop off. That is helpful isn't it lol.
