Gosh Ginger, that's a bit ripe, isn't it? I guess if they'd had to schlep across town it would be an effort but they were just around the corner? How rude. Re the appt, you could get your GP's receptionist to ring their office and find out what date their books will open, and then you could ring back then. PITA, yes, but it might be one way forward.

Trill, I've been thinking the friendship is meant to be. The whole family has a similarly wacky sense of humour as we do.

No, I don't think the sleep stuff is related to the chemo, but it has been worse since then. I've had sleep issues for a long time, but have been compensating in different ways. Then chemo came along and threw in physical fatigue and chemobrain/extreme mental tiredness on top of that and suddenly it's compounded everything. Plus I gained weight and if I've got any apnoea that could've got worse over that same time too.

Cally, did I hear that right? Your DH is accusing you of SNORING?! LOL. Worth getting it checked out, you can't put a price on your sleep. I think I might have a few things going on. Have had a delayed sleep cycle since early adulthood, so I wake up badly and stumble around in a daze for the first few hours of the day. Plus I did some reading and found out it is totally abnormal to have dreams when you're falling asleep/taking naps, it can be a sign of extreme sleep deprivation or even narcolepsy. Or sleep apnoea could explain that. So it's obvious there's something going on and I'll be having the study done at the clinic not at home so they've got more info.

Cass, yep marzipan would be a total fail! Did I say the fondant is called white icing? It comes in a box. The royal icing comes in a packet and you just add water and then whip it until it gets to the right foofiness and then off you go. Too easy.

Arte, biological psychology sounds fascinating. In a boring-uni-study kind of way . Like, if you were just reading about it in Psychology Today you would be fascinated, but once it's followed by essays and exams... not so much fun! LOL. Did the lamb-rescue go ok?

MD - If anyone needs a sleep study at our place, it is definitely DH. He has always been a really heavy breather (not snorer) and seems to require a lot of sleep. Ie can do 9 hours a night and still have a 2 hour nap the next day (and this was before DD came along).

Is everyone else having crazy weather? It is forecast for 14 on Thursday - that is like mid August for us! Although I'm not minding the bit of rain we've finallyhad this week, so I better just suck it up!

Yeah, we had brilliant sunshine this afternoon and tomorrow it's supposed to be 14 and rain. Becoming windy. Possible hail. Mmmm. Am I allowed to stay at home under the covers please?

Ah Cally, so you're denying the snore accusations then? LOL What a pity there isn't a bulk family discount for sleep studies. You could do a his and hers session.

    hi ladies

so my 'friend' who didnt turn up to the party rang me last night and basically just spoke at me, without letting me get a word in. she did say sorry but said that i had ruined her bday (which was on monday) by making her feel guilty all day (i saw her at kinder drop off in the morning and gave her the cold shoulder). she said that she hoped it wouldnt get in the way of our friendship, but that it was her bday weekend and that we would at least have lots of meat left over for sandwiches!!!!! i am so fuming. i just dont know what to do at this point.

Fark me! Self absorbed much? Far out G, shame on your for making her feel bad on her birthday about something SHE DID in the first place! Never mind how bad she made poor L feel on his special day. If it were me I would have given it to her with both barrels! I'd be cutting her out for a while, sounds like she's just not worth the effort and if she really values your friendship then she'd make it up to you - which is what she should have done in the first place instead of telling you how bad you made her feel.

thanks trill. i agree. i told her that i felt like she had let me down and that L was really disappointed and kept asking where her ds was. that was about all she would let me get in to the conversation and then she just kept saying how guilty she felt blah blah blah. then, she has the nerve to send me an invite on fb to her bday drinks!!! unbelievable. i declined the invite, obviously. geez i hate drama.

Well I've just been to see Dr Morpheus, and you shoulda seen his eyes light up when I told him about my funky falling asleep dreams. I thought they must be fairly common because i'd googled it, but apparently its pretty rare. (haha confirmation of my circus freak hypothesis). His money is on sleep apnoea (apparently the back of my throat is visibly inflamed WTF?!) but he thinks dealing with that may only be the first step. Sleep study booked for next week.

I like that you can make someone's eyes light up MD lol! did he rub his hands with glee as well hahaha?!

Gosh, i cant believe how quickly they can organise those sleep studies! wahoo! if it is sleep aponea what sort of treatments etc are there to help alleviate it?

I got a special package in the mail today...I love you Arte xx

I got a special package in the mail too!! Arte you are a darling! *mwah*

Very expensive ones, Cass. Lol. At one end of the spectrum is a $2000 mouth guard thing that holds your mouth open in a certain way, or surgery , at the other end is a cpap machine +/- a drug regimen (*secretly praying this includes PBS-subsidized modafinil, which could sort out the chemo brain as well in one fell swoop* ).
