Arte - I am in awe that you have avoided sugar for so long. Amazing!
I meant to ask how is w doing? Has he stopped the licking etc? Did you ever get any help? Sorry you have prob been thru all of that and I missed it
Cally - woooo hoooo for the weekend away. How lovely, and it sounds really fun your parents bringing your niece down.
cass - how you doing? Off bed rest?
All good here. We took n to the dentist re the teeth and they did an X-ray and said it basically may have accelerated natural process but not to worry. N loved seeing the X-ray and his adult teeth coming through. Pretty amazing! He was awesome at the dentist and with the X-ray - v
proud of him.
Cally: oh man! those are awful side-effects Definitely time to change things! How do you feel about him getting the snip?
Arte: mmmmm slice AND coke...i like that you didnt go half measure on throwing yourself back into the land of sugar hahahaha.
I cant believe how long your iron injection bruises have lasted! far out! i must have a really soft bum with no muscle tone as seriously, my bruises healed really quickly lol.
MP: You reminded me that we need to get Miss L in for her check up at the dentist. they called a few weeks back but i was still on bedrest (thankfully not anymore!!).
It would of been pretty cool to see the 'big people' teeth on the x-ray. I can imagine that Miss L would really really dig seeing that. it all seems too abstract for her ITMS.
Trill: it does sound like an absorption thing with the iron maybe? do the meds hamper iron absorption at all?
AFM: not much to report here. Sick of the wintery conditions that Melbourne is giving us; have the beginnings of a sore throat (blergh!), but the girls are awesome and Miss L is really super excited about orientation lol. I CANNOT go into labour on her Big Day. That night, yes, but not on the day!
Cass, Happy Full Term Day!! Nice to see you make it here
I think the iron injections are supposed to go into the muscle and there isn't supposed to be any fluid that leaks back into the fat. Unfortunately I have an abundance of butt fat lol. I had a trawl though the net about it at one stage and the 'tattoo' is reasonable common, especially if they haven't been administered correctly. The mark can even be permanent! Luckily mine gradually reduce.
Hope you make it to Orientation day!
MP, glad all went well at the dentist.
As for W...still licking but he now tells me that only 4 year olds turn into things they touch so he seems to have given himself permission not to lick all the time if he forgets. But if he is stressed he will do it a lot eg if he is told off or upset. We had a breakthrough with the clothing issue the other week when one of his two pairs of pants got a hole in the bum. He grizzled and cried for over an hour but eventually wore a new pair and has been reasonably wearing new ones since then. He has also started getting very upset about things ending, like meltdowns over his glow stick running out and refuses to use a gelli baff (bath polymer - very fun) because he 'loves it so much that he doesn't want it to finish' so he won't start. In fact doesn't want to use anything in case it runs out. Very frustrating! So long story short - *sigh*.
I was a kid that saved stuff until later. But this is ridiculous! We got a box of 100 glow bracelets, the girls had one each but he wouldn't have one because then there would only be 97 of them! LOL. But he is missing out on doing things out of a fear that it will be gone
I have to sheepishly admit that i totally get where he is coming from...I have to work almost daily to overcome the obstacles that i place on myself to 'preserve' special moments etc.
when i was a kid it could be so so consuming. It took ages for me to realise that i could have control over those 'nice' things and that the sky wouldnt fall on my head for partaking...basically some nifty CBT stuff. but in my case i am pretty sure mine was an anxiety related thang.
So how's it hanging Cass? Low and lazy still? :lol
Arte, I can kinda understand that, but yeah, that's probably still at the extreme end. I was a kid that saved stuff for later too - I used to have easter eggs left in July :lol Glad he's wearing some new clothes finally though LOL.
MD, how are you going my lovely?
MP, I noticed with L that he lost teeth later than other kids which I'm assuming was because he didn't get them till later, so I'm not surprised that kids can start losing them earlier too.
Got my blood test results today and everything is absolutely normal. Hgb is 131! Ferritin is still over 33 and B12, Folate, blood sugar and thyroid are all normal. He tested my FSH level to check ovarian function to see if I was close to menopause and it was 1.9, which considering it was taken during my luteal phase was excellent (normal is between 1.5 and 9 and the lower the better) and I wont be going through The Change for quite some years to come, but also alarming that at nearly 35 I am still so fertile LOL. So I really better hope that DH's sperm stay in situ :lol or I'm in trouble! The Hgb test has me scratching my head though. How can the blood bank one be so out of whack? It was surprising that considering the routine BT I had only a few weeks before I went to give blood was normal at 120, the Blood bank one on the day I went to donate was so low at 114, and now only 2 months later it's back up to 131? But I'm normal and healthy and that's all that matters. And conveniently, the gyno's letter to my GP conveniently neglected to mention the fibroids he said I had, so now it makes it hard to make a complaint against him, but I sure as hell am going to make one still. As much as I KNOW doctors can lie to get you to do what they want, it's still surprised me the length that a doctor will go to kwim? Scare the **** out of a woman telling her she has something like fibroids and make them sound really scary just to convince her to have surgery? It's something a nutjob would do, not something I'd expect a doctor to do.
