Bridg: What's Logan's hearing test about? Are you worried he's not hearing or do you have a family history...?
BG: Looked at your pics - great stuff! Funny- it was great to put some faces to the names of a couple of those BB girls. So glad everything was perfect for you- you worked so hard.
I think my girl is finally asleep, so I must away to crash and burn.
BG- Emerald- Well done on being such a good girl for ur mummy.
Amy- Logan was supposed to have a hearing test in hospital when he was born, but we left the day after he was born, and Wednesday was the earliest they could get me in.
BG - awesome pics, Emerald looked so pretty, glad to hear the baptism went so well

Naomi- I got the Baby Love book by Robin Barker the other night.
Ah, ok. Wow, Bridg, its quite a long time to wait. By now you know if he responds to noises etc. The newborn screening seems almost redundant. I hope it is all good in any case.
Baby Love is a worthwhile purchase! I really like her down to earth style of writing. She's got a toddler book too that is great.

Hi Girls, hope you are well, will do persies a bit later but in the meantime, A question for all - has your AF cycle gone back to normal since bubs arrival (assuming it was normal before)?
I used to be a 28 day gal - pretty much spot on but since Bailey arrived its all over the shop
I bled until about week 5.5, then got AF at week 7, then got it again about week 9 for a few short days then got it again at week 12 and this is my 11th day of bleeding - 11 DAYS!!! It used to last 5 maximum
Am starting to get a bit worried and thinking I should go get the OB to check me out, or perhaps this is perfectly normal and it takes the body a while to get back to normal. I am on the mini-pill so perhaps it doesn't agree with me?
Anyone else having odd experiences here?
LOL at having another reason that DTD just isn't a priority too - poor hubby

Oh Bridg - I love the practical advice of that book, its calmed me a few times when have been worried about my little guy x
Amy- Logan can hear fine, but am still going to do the hearing test. It is a long time to wait, so now its not really a newborn screening. I had a quick flick through the book the other night. I also saw her toddler book too.
Naomi- AF hasnt come back yet. After I had Logan, I didnt bleed for that long. The mini pill could be making u bleed longer. Before Logan, I was on the pill so my cycles were regular, but when I stopped the pill to get preggers, it was all over the place. Ur body is probably going hormone crazy at the moment.
naomi - ive had the same issue but im on the pill before i was regular even after i went off the pill to get UTD but its only been one month so it might go back after a while if noti guess another trip to the doctors

Good luck Jacinta with Jamie - CJ is also getting her needles this afternoon! Am just about to feed her before we go.
CJ's injections went ok, one scream and then gave her a cuddle then fed her and she was calm as anything - she is asleep now, fingers crossed she is one of those babies who just sleeps more after vaccinations. Had MCHN today she weighs 5.5kg (8 weeks yesterday) so hasn't put on so much the past two weeks but is on the same growth curve so that is cool. Because of the brace is a bit less accurate too as have allowed 150g for it, next time will be able to see more accurately as will be weighing with brace on again.
Naomi - I started mini-pill a week ago, and have had a small amount of bleeding over weekend, thought was AF but is extremely light if it is, so anyway haven't really be on it long enough to tell. My cycle was very regular before becoming pregnant. What IKEA furniture did you get? Our flat is nearly all IKEA.
BG - Pics of the baptism on FB look great. I have been thinking about going to church, I was brought up a catholic (was baptised in Darwin, NT and got a very cool candle) but haven't been going to church regularly for years, and as a child I hated it and couldn't understand why my mum would drag us there everyweek - but as have got older and become a mum understand a bit more.
Jacinta - How is Jamie after his needles?
Bella and Cathy - Hope the mastitis clears up soon.
Kat - all those dates sound fine with me. I am not sure the Hawks will make the finals :-( but is good to avoid the footy just in case.
Bridg - hope hearing test goes well. I have seen lots of cute photos of babies taking hearing tests where it looks like are listening to an IPOD or something, so you might want to take your camera.
Amy - Hope the girls have stopped driving you mad. Saw pics of Phoebe on facebook wow hasn't she got a lot of hair!
Vic- Glad to hear CJ's needles went ok. I love IKEA furniture. Unfortunately, we dont have an IKEA up here. :( Thanks for the tip on taking the camera. I will have to recharge the batteries tonight.
Jamies needles went ok he screamed pretty loud hes being really fussy and not himself wanting lots of cuddles when normally hes happy to play
Jacinta: Hope Jamie settles ok. Has he got red legs? Natty was miserable after her first lot of needles, but Phoebe was fine. They are all different, aren't they.
Vic: Yeah, I have hairy babies. I am waiting for the comments to start about her hair sticking up, LOL! So glad CJ did well with her needles. And sounds like she's doing well weight-wise too. I love our church - I don't get much out of it spiritually, to be honest. But the people are just so wonderful and so supportive. Do you know anyone who goes to one that you could tag along with?
Bridg: I hope the test is good. Tell us what happens if it's different to the NB screening one. Do you know if I have to finish the Nilstat? I think P's thrush is clearing up (will check with the nurse) and she hasn't quite finished it yet. She hates it, so I haven't been giving it to her as much as I should have been :redface:
Naomi: Wouldn't surprise me if the mini pill is stuffing with AF, but I'd probably go and check it out. Personally, I haven't got AF back yet and can't remember what happened when I got it back after Natty. In any case I find hormonal contraception really doesn't agree with me. I haven't been on the pill for about 4 years now.
I'm hoping to get Phoebe in to see the nurse this week. Got to get another opinion about the thrush and I'm also worried about how she has a really strong preference in the direction she likes to look - she's always turning to her right. I do try to encourage her to look the other way but sometimes she just point blank refuses. Mainly when she's tired.
DH came home tonight and reckons she has grown today, LOL! He said she looks really big all of a sudden. Could be because she's been feeding like mad.
Amy- They recommend u continue the Nilstat for 48hrs after its cleared, just to make sure its all gone. The Royal Childrens told me that u can use Daktarin oral gel. They said to put it on the spoon, and then put it in their mouths with ur finger, so they dont choke on it. I got some Daktarin, but was too lazy to use it, but since I have been giving Logan Gripe Water for his wind, it has gone. Logan also prefers to turn his head to his right side. Does it say anything in the Baby Love book?
Vic and Jacinta - Glad the jabs went well this arvo!! Bailey was fine until about 2-3 hours later when he just wouldn't stop crying - poor boy. Hope your bubs are fine, I think its harder on Mum!!
Amy - Hope DHs hours have settled down and the girls are less crazy for you. We had such a busy weekend so today I was just trying to catch up on washing etc. We had two nights out, Mum looked after Bailey Friday night and Baileys godparents had him Sat night. I was so ready to cancel Sat night though as I really didn't want to leave him for a second night and was in tears, but it was my Maid of Honours 30th so I really couldn't let her down. In the end we had fun, but yesterday spent lots of time cuddling and playing with Bailey to make up for leaving him, its amazing how hard it is to leave him even for a few hours. I will never accept two invitations in the same weekend again (unless I can take him with me). Yeah re the AF I think my hormones are up the creek. I have had annoying period pain too which I rarely get so there are some definate changes in my cycle. I think I will give it another couple of days to see if it stops and if not will ring the MW at my OBs office and ask what to do. I think I am slightly paranoid as my Mum had a hysterectomy at 37 as she had issues and she used to have a really short cycle and bleed for ages and I am worrying that this is happening to me - I'm 35 and certainly dont want to go down the same path - but she had other gyno issues too but either way I want my 28 day cycle back - we have enough fertility issues without my body adding further problems
Bridg - I have ''Baby Love" permanently on our coffee table, its so handy to quickly look something up as something new happens or if I am worried Bailey is sick etc. I found it really useful in the first few weeks but still use it frequently. Some friends bought it for my at my baby shower and I am so glad they did. Handy to know there is a toddler book too. Thanks re the tip on the saliva.
Vic - we love IKEA too, we have heaps of IKEA furniture around the house - my house pics on FB are evidence of that. We bought a side board for the dining room as we had this IKEA glass cabinet there previously full of all our wine glasses etc, but have moved that into DHs bar room (which will soon have a latch on the door) as trying to baby proof the house. The glass cabinet was just a little too dangerous in my mind and I know how babies love to bang on things, in the coming months if Bailey was to bang on it and hurt himself I would never forgive myself. Other than that I just need to anchor a few bookshelves and tidy up electric cords etc. I dont want the house to be too sterile, Bailey will have to learn 'no' and 'dont touch' when the time comes but I want to remove the obvious dangers as well. Glad to hear CJ is getting used to her brace, hows nappy changes going?
Bella - bummer re the mastitis - are you feeling better, that sucks, as if BF isn't hard enough in the early days!! Glad to hear J has settled in her bassinet, I know what you mean about getting the bed back, when Bailey is in our bed I am so still and sleep in awkward positions so I am facing him etc
Cathy - we just bought one of those lamaze Tummy Time thingo's - I think you have one dont you Jacinta? They were on special at target and Bailey needs all he help he can get in that dept, although he really cant use it just yet as he just flops his neck down LOL, once he can hold it up I will use it more. Hope the blocked duct is better
Kat - thanks for the advice re development - and you are right, they all develop at their own pace. I shouldn't wish Bailey to develop too quickly (as long as nothing's wrong of course) as they grow up too damn quick - I was looking at some of his 00000 outfits yesterday and feeling a bit emotional that he has already grown so much.
BG - just had a look at your prof pics. I LOVE the one where Emerald is crying, so funny to see their faces all screwed up, they will love to look back on these photo's later. I must get one like that of Bailey next time he drops his lip, I concentrate on getting the smiles, but should get a candid one of the 'other' spectrum as well. Looks like the baptism was a great day, congratulations on this special milestone!
Krystie - WOW re Kyson rolling - far out. I also cant get over that pic on FB where he is standing, I realise his hand is being held but even so that is quite amazing! You are right re being more careful on the change table. As Bailey is quite immobile I am probably a bit blaz'e were I should realise that at some point he will roll, move etc. Its a good reminder for me, I often have him on the change table and walk the two steps to his drawers to get clothes (watching him but out of reach). I have resolved to stop this after thinking about the consequences if he does roll!
AFU - had a productive day today, I cleaned out my pantry (this was on my maternity leave list that I never got too LOL) and a heap of other cupboards, Bailey was so mellow and happy to play in his bouncer while I chatted away to him while in the kitchen so got heaps done. We are also getting a real day nap routine happening which makes my days so much easier. He definately has two teeth coming up, his tooth from birth is re-emerging and has cut through the gum, and there is another on the bottom gum coming through - crazy!! I am going to head to our Womens and Childrens hosp this week as they sell their own teething gel in the pharmacy that lots of Adelaide Mums keep telling me about, I have bongela but wont use it - you cant until 4 months anyway.
Off to Target tomorrow to put some stuff on layby for Baileys cousins for xmas via the toy sale and am going to go to Baby Bunting and get a Gro-bag too.....

yeah i do have one naomi but bub has gone off it since hes been able to roll
he was terrible before bed but hes been asleep since 7:45 which is earlier than normal time will tell how he is tonite
