ROFL MP, It looked like it said that didn't it? We did the ping pong ball with L to try to get him to stand, but we managed to flush one and block the loo so we never tried it again LOL. I did get a wee target thing for A which they wee on and it shows up a picture of a truck or rocket but I reckon they are a bit grubby because they just stay there with a suction cup thing and they come off.

MD, total bummer about the publication :( Sleep isn't going too bad atm - turns out that W is too exhausted from kindy to put up a prolonged nighttime drama these days. He was falling asleep on the way to kindy and on the way home every day, then he just couldn't manage the tanty at bedtime and is sleeping through lol. A isn't so good though, gave her panadol after wake up #5 last night and she still woke another couple of times.
Just got back from the kindy hangi. Tasted like feet x cardboard, but the kids had fun doing it lol

I'm on antibiotics, she thinks I was just a bit run down after the 8 week cough I had earlier in the year. I've got a week off in just over a week so I'm looking forward to that. K and I both had our flu shot. We went to the chemist and she was skipping along the street afterwards saying 'me wany my injection now'. And then she gave me big brave cuddles for mine and then I gave her cuddles and she didn't even flinch when it went in, let alone a tear. So proud of her. I'm also getting a general blood test done.
Arte - glad that W is sleeping OK at the moment. I find the days K doesn't nap she crashes pretty easily, although we are a bit prone to meltdowns in that last half hour.
So glad that my cold :cold: is amusing you all!! :D
Cally I hope they work quick and you feel better soon :hug: fingers crossed the blood test shows up nothing.

Had training again tonight and it wasn't as bad - not as intense as last week. But my groin is still really really sore - I thought I was fine but I mowed the lawn today before I went in and I felt it was a bit stiff and it's only gotten worse. Got our uniforms too and they are ummm a wee bit snug and hugely unflattering - shows up the mummy tummy nicely LOL.
Well the beauty of this situation is that it doesn't have my name on it :lol:. Cass that would peeve me no end! I was reading this fabulous book the other day, there was this one quote I love (about the idiocy of the changes that are made to good work) "The writer is usually the smartest person in the room." I felt vindicated :lol:.
Cally that sounds miserable. These days I give it two weeks then I'm in at the drs. Luckily mine knows me well enough to hand over the ABs when I ask for them, because I don't take them when i don't need them. The 8 week cough sounds exhausting. I hope the flu jab doesn't set back your recovery. :hug: I have some fabulous soluble vitamin C, it works a treat, as does zinc. xx

G, hope L is improving rapidly. Meant to tell you the other day to ask the pharmacist for stronger pain meds for L, there are things like pain stop which have a day and night formulation, might help him to be more comfy to eat. When DD1 stopped eating (literally) for several days because of her mystery mouth disease, my GF who is a clinical dietician advised me to mix milk powder into milk to make like a fortified protein drink. You could add tiny amounts of flavoring to encourage him to drink (even some honey) but from my own memories of tonsillitis, sugar tends to hurt so bland is probably best. You can also add the fortified milk to soft foods like scrambled egg and mashed potato (with a bit of grated cheese) to increase the food value. HTH

Arte - yay for improved sleep. I've had a couple of crappola nights since DH has been away and I gotta tell ya, at 3 am I didnt complain because I was thinking of you! BTW I'm loving the concept of a kindy hangi LOL.

'Toerag' i forgot how much i love that word! :lol: I'll be back for 4 MONTHS! :cheer: I am looking forward to it, but it's going to be hard, both living with my folks and not having DH there to help. My family are pretty useless. They go to work at 6.15am and get home at 7pm and Dad doesn't do the toddler thing so well. So not much help to me! Ont he upside i can visit friends, go shopping and wear jeans! :lol:

Sas is such a crack up at the moment. I just told her it was time to get dressed, and she she held on tightly to her PJ top and said "No mumma, i really, really love it?!" She picks up funny sayings from Lu and it just sounds hilarious coming from a 2 year old.
**** me, now L's whole mouth, tongue and gums are covered in ulcers. gingivitis apparantly? he's on pain stop and nurofen. just ran into a friend at the bakery and her best friend's son (D) has it too. the only thing that L and D have in common is that they live in the same suburb and both have swimming lessons on the same day at the same pool (different time). does this mean anything or just random? **** i am so ****ing over this
oh G - poor you and poor L - that sounds awful. no idea how that spreads... poor little man.
oh dear Ginger...:hug: could be related to the fact that his body is just mega run down so his defences are just uber compromised. i really feel you guys, it is just the absolute pits :(

Ginger, go back to the GP and get them to do bacterial AND viral swabs. The ulcerated mouth/gums etc sounds very similar to what DD1 had that time...we will never really know for sure (the viral swab came back positive for chicken pox of all things) but my money in on that it was cold sores - the very first outbreak can often have severe symptoms like this (and DD started getting regular cold sores after this event but she'd never had them before). :hug: poor darlings xxx

does this mean he's going to get cold sores all the time? i'm beside myself, i'm so upset.
G, don't worry about it, it sounds like there was nothing you could have done to predict it or prevent it :hug: He wont get cold sores all the time, but he will be more likely to get them if he is run down - same as for adults. He must be so uncomfortable with them though. I hope it all clears soon.
