Yeah, I've got a bit of choice (and very specific) feedback for this subject/lecturer too. I guess the proof is in the pudding and if you're doing well in most of your other subjects that says something about this subject, doesn't it

I'm back. We went down to visit my family for the weekend. Actually, I thought we were there to visit, DH thought we were having a family weekend so I got a couple of rushed hours of seeing people and that will have to do until Christmas time. Not happy.
Sleep was so terrible that DH agreed to the Phernegan. First night on it he woke twice and tried to yell and scream but it only lasted a few minutes. Last night he slept though but we were back home so he might have anyway. A is having it too since she will only sleep when she is attached to someone and you can't escape her - not going to work when DH is away if W wakes.
So last night I managed to sleep for 5 straight hours and I woke at 2am refreshed and ready for the day lol. Couldn't get back to sleep for a couple of hours until I went to resettle A and fell asleep in her bed (naughty - how is she going to learn to sleep by herself if we keep sleeping in there!!)
I am on a bit of a study low atm, my exam coming up is open book so there isn't a lot of motivation to actually learn any of it. The other paper has a good contact course on next month that I was planning to go to but of course it is when DH is away so I will have to miss out (still jealous and bitter lol).
hi girls
arte- glad to hear you got some sleep :)
the boys are still sick and i am bored and over it. going to check out a primary school today with olive - it is my plan b school if the closest one to us is unsuitable (haven't checked it out yet). will be interesting to see if we like it. it will also give me a benchmark to judge the other one on. scary to think i'm already worrying about schools!
hi girls
will have to be quick as logging in at (new) work!
Ginger - hope the school visit goes well, do you have to have them on a list early or how does the enrolment work?
oh better go, will bbl.
oohhh MP! only 8.49am and already on BB at work  love it!
all good here, just mega hectic and yet totally nothing achieved...ho hum.
BBL
Just popping in to say hello. DH got called out for Search and Rescue and I am now up to date with Glee so just wasting a bit of time before I go to bed.
Got a bunch of new cloth nappies today which is always nice! And I sold some online and the buyer happened to be the now wife of a guy that DH went to high school with and whom I flatted with in my first year of uni. We had lost contact over the years, but if not for him then DH and I probably wouldn't have met. Small world!!
Hi girls
Arte- wow! What a small world, it really amazes me sometimes. How is all the sleep going?
Mp- with the public primaries you really only need to enroll the year before they start, but with the privates the earlier the better. We're planning on sending them to a public school to start with and then changing them over to private at either year 5 or 7 , we'll make a decision closer to the time.
Yay for getting parcels in the mail! That's amazing that you met up with your flatmate via a nappy sale LOL.
MP sounds like work has got off to a good start LOL.
Well girls, we're pretty glad we spent that money we couldn't afford to visit DH's family last year, his Nanna had a stroke on the weekend and passed away overnight. Such a wonderful lady, the heart of the family, she will be missed terribly, that's for sure.
Hello ladies, I have been lurking a bit lately, sorry. I have also been so busy, two kids is much more work but I love it of course. Getting excited for JM's fast approaching birth, yay! Hope you are all well.
Oh no Md, sorry to hear that xo
Hi isa, you're right 2 kids is hard work!
Isadora, so glad you de-lurked LOL. Yeah it gets crazy, Can you remember what ladies of leisure we all were when we were in our preggy buddies thread LOL. Seems like an eternity away.
many hugs to you and DH MD  We are coming up to Oma's first whole year away from us...it still feels very weird.
Isa: awesome to hear from you! and yeah, it is a bit busier isnt it??!
Arte: man that is a small world! ooohhh i wish i could get a few more MCNs...
AFM: all good here. *might* have a very exciting work opportunity on the horizon. DH met a woman that used to be the UN commissioner for women and she is looking at starting something here in melbourne that is based on womens rights and campaigning against trafficking of women and girls and well, has asked me to send her an email :) man, i hope that this could turn into something, especially as i am currently reading "half the sky: how to change the world" (which is all about how empowering and educating women around the world is one of the more effective steps in alleviating world poverty and violence etc....Oprah i think once had the authors on her show). anyway, i am excited but dont want to get my hopes up, but it all does seem like a cool coincidence that i am reading this book and then this lady turns up :crossfingers:
MD, I'm so sorry to hear that
Oh Wow Cass! THat would be fantastic if that ever eventuated.
LOL MP at you already logging on to here from work. So how is the new job going?
Arte, did you see kev yet? Bugger about the weekend.
Cass that would be an awesome and rewarding job! Go you!
MD I totally missed what you wrote about your DH's Nanna, so sorry, thats very sad.
ok, i did it. i sent the email off to the lady....eeeek! how terrifying writing to someone so influential. oh man. sweaty palm alert
Sounds like that will be an awesome opportunity Cass!
Well Mum and Dad are on their way down with my niece. She's having a two night visit with us. She's done occasional sleepovers with my parents before, so bedtime tonight could be interesting when her parents are 2.5 hours away!!
MD - hugs, it's so good you made the effort to get up there last year.
Arte - I have the first season of Glee still waiting for me to view
oh wow cass! that sounds amazing! hope it all turns out. what a great job that would be
she wrote back and wants to meet :leap: YAY!!! i am pretty excited and she said that she was excited at the prospect as my stuff sounds like it complements her well (she is looking to mentor a person to take over her role ITMS). eeeeeeekkkkkk!
Cally: oh wow, you are sooo going to have a two giggling girties (sp?) on your hands tonight lol! going to be fun though!
MD, I am sorry to hear of your loss. I know even living away and not seeing them very often it still stings when they are gone.
My Nana hasn't been gone a year yet and her house has been removed so they can build a block of flats on the section. I couldn't bear to drive past and see the corner empty - she lived in that house for nearly 80 years!
Cally, good luck! K and your niece are lucky to have each other so close in age, that will be very cool for them as they grow up.
Cass, the job sounds like it was meant to be!
Trill, Kev is 18th June. So looking forward to it - mostly a whole night in a bed by myself with a sleep in!
Ginger, sleep improved but not the magic cure I was hoping for. At least I have a back up if things turn to custard while DH is away.
DH's 30th birthday tomorrow so the kids made a pinata for him. I don't usually do crazy messy activities - took forever to clean up! Not sure if it will work, trying to dry it in front of the fire tonight.
wooooooooooooooo hoooooooooooooooooooooo cass! amazing!
Cally - hope the sleepover goes well.
So sorry for your loss MD. I am glad you took that trip last year. xxx
Thanks for the hugs everyone :grouphug:.
Cass I'm completely stoked for you! I was fascinated by that Oprah episode, and added the book to my mental to-read list. You'll have to fill us in as to how it all goes when you meet her. Synchronicity at work.
Hmmm I thought I replied in here the other day..... maybe I didn't lol.
Hugs MD, I am sorry for your families loss.
OMG Cass what an amazing opportunity, sounds like it is meant to be.
Arte how did the pinata turn out?
MP how is the new job going?
Cally how did the sleep over go? Did they get much sleep?
Not much happening here. L has gone great with the night TT and had no accidents. He is also doing poo's on the toilet everyday with only a handful of accidents over the last 2 weeks.
Oz, just stuffed the pinata with some freddo frogs (cos what 30 year old man doesn't want a pinata filled with freddo's lol). Just need to figure out a way to hang it and hopefully it will work. W will be happy if he gets to whack anything with a big stick!
Yay for the night training! It is nice to say good bye to nappies!
We are also doing an icecream cake for DH tonight - couldn't be bothered making a cake because I know that I end up eating it all anyway, so I got a viennetta ice cream thing, some choc sauce and sprinkles. W will have fun making it. Somehow our birthdays have become all about the kids??
The two little girls had lots of fun but luckily bedtime went well and there were no dramas. And they both slept all night which was good. My niece became very posessive of her lunch box which had snacks for her and K to share and wouldn't let go of it all afternoon, even fell asleep with it so mum's plan was a big morning tea and then hopefully she will be able to use both hands.
Arte - Kev is on my birthday!! And I think it is because they get so much fun out of birthdays.
Cass - woohoo on the job prospect!!
Great morning today - dropped my work car key into a sewer. Luckily it landed in a bucket and was able to be retrieved, but I still feel pretty gross. That car's going back on Monday which is a good thing - will try and be more careful with the next one.....
Cally: yeah, let's hope you avoid any sewer drops next time haha! eewwww lol!
AFM: today has been lovely...DH and I have celebrated 10 years together today :loveshower: (although i have noted a distinct lack of small packaged gifts...in fact, a distinct lack of gift at all...ah well).
But i am pretty chuffed that i managed to find him some very cool australiana plates (DH collects 1920s and 1930s tourist plates...you know the ones with pics of beaches/bridges/lookouts etc).
Congrats on 10 years Cass! We passed the 10 year mark in April, but we both forgot lol.
Cally, that is gross! I couldn't use the key without wondering what germs were lurking away in the crevices of it. Do you do lease cars?
Pinata was fun, totally recommend it.
Cally I would be sending the keys for another swim - this time in a vat of aquium gel (this girl's best handbag friend). Missy E is very particular about her lunchbox too.
Cass - congratulations on your 10 years together! :cheer: Commisserations on the distinct lack of sparkly pressies in tiny boxes. xxx The plates sound fastastic, I bet your DH is totally chuffed.
Arte - see, that's why I never wanted to "share" my birthday with DD2. LOL The pinata sounds great - did your DH totally dig all those chocolate frogs?
Oz, yeah I'm pretty sure I remember you posting a couple of days ago too. Well done with the night TTing. We seem to be regressing on that front - E is very aware of when she is wearing a pullup and when she is not, but I CBF'd going without them and dealing with the extra laundry in what is now approaching high winter.
Well girls it's been a challenging few days for me as I confront the reality of how ****ed my study situation is. My psych has very gently suggested to me that I should apply for a disability status at the uni so that I can access special consideration. I have cried gallons ever since, but I'm coming around to the idea that if I can admit how bad it is and how sub-functional i really have been all this time, then that will be the start of being able to fix it. Whereas if I keep avoiding it and pretending that all is ok, that will just prolong the pain. The psych is fabulous and really experienced dealing with all the complexities of "chemobrain", fatigue, grief, and depression that ride along in the wake of a cancer encounter. So this is a GOOD THING, even though it feels like I'm in choppy waters right now.
MD, The special consideration sounds like a good idea. Cancer is a scary thing, I don't imagine you can just forget about it when the treatment is done. I am glad you are getting some help. I wish I had something good to say to make it better for you
Oz, I didn't reply the other day because sometimes it isn't helpful for the world to brag about how easy something is when you are having issues with it. Like when I have had a run of **** nights and the MG ladies are telling me how their kids slept through since before they were conceived or something. W has been day TT for over a year now and night TT since Christmas. It was something that we had an easy ride for for which I am very grateful. It sounds like L has finally turned a corner on it though, you must be really happy about that!
Lol I thought I posted to say thanks for the lovely comments re Z weaning. Maybe I didn't actually hit post though.... I have a habit of doing that lol.
Arte glad the pinata was a hit. Its so great not having nappies anymore, I just wish I had done it sooner lol.
Cass congrats on 10 years, such a big milestone. Poo to not receiving something nice and sparkly though.
Cally I am not sure I could have touched those keys lol.
MD  I think applying so you can have special consideration is a good idea. I guess most people don't realise that the effects of cancer don't just end once your cancer free, its great that your seeing a psych.
Not much on here this weekend, I have a maternity session today and DH is working all weekend so its just me and the kids. Might get out some paint while the sun is out. What is everyone else up to?
W and DH have gone up to one of the mountain huts for the night. Apparently the walk up there went alright (about 3 hours) and they were at the hut with the fire going last I heard. That will be lots of fun for them.
MD - Thinking of you xox
Cass - Congrats on the 10 years!! Sucks about the lack of diamonds though!! Men, thats all I can say. Mine was romantic at the start and now...pfft. All good though, 10 years together proves your love really. Our 10 years is next yr...scary.
Arte - That sounds like awesome fun for W! How did they go?
I am zzzzzzz, is there a big growth spurt around the 4 month age? Miss E has been feeding feeding feeding. Boobs are like rockmelons at the moment. The last week she has been waking at 3am for a feed, and now the past 3 nights its been 1.00am, 3.00am, 5.00am.....ahhhhh, neeeeed sleeeeeeep!
Welcome to my world Isadora! The other night they managed to wake 6 times between them and then we started the day at 5.30am! Sucks!
On the bright side, I bet your boobs look fantastic atm!
Arte - yeah, we have a bunch of cars that are leased that are classified as pool cars, however because we don't have secure parking they tend to 'belong' to someone. Because I now have to go to site every day and it is more time efficient for me to do it from home, one them is now mine. My boss even approved the purchase of a seat for K so I can still do some pickups if DH is delayed or has an after school thing. Hope the night in the mountains was fun.
MD - hugs, hope things improve soon.
Cass - well done on 10 years. We didn't do anything for ours (last year), let alone sparkles!!
Oz - I would have preferred not to touch the keys, but there wasn't any way of getting back to the office. They got a pretty big dose of Glen 20 when I got home and I used a fair bit of hand santisier once I got the engine going!!
Hi girls, I'm reading but not posting. So tired at the moment, not quite sure what is going on but the boys are absolutely exhausting. J is going through a terror phase and is driving me up the wall - you know the toilet full of toilet paper stage? Well he is right in the middle of it now and is exhausting me. L seems like hard work at the moment too. Doubly exhausting.
Hello lovely ladies!
ISA: oh man I hear you about those growth spurts! They are so tiring. Have to admit I prefer the sleepy style growth spurts lol. But arte is right, the boobs do go fab again for a bit
Cally: man it would seem that no one has celebrated the 10 years lol!
MD: I reckon applying for the consideration is a fab idea. Apply for everything you can, there is no reason not to and at the end of the day you want to feel proud of your achievements rather than bruised and exhausted. Higher education is a thankless undertaking so be gentle on yourself and do it your best way.
Hope everyone is good! We had a pretty good day here. Yummy lunch out then the neighbours came by with bags of gorgeous clothes for Marta that their girl has grown out of. Gotta love it!
Well my boobs were fantastic...but today they seem friggin empty again and E is having heaps of 30 second feeds, my let down is taking forever!!! So over my body. Maybe I just need sleep!
Cass - Dont you love it when people pass on clothes, good on them hey.
Arte - You poor thing. I totally sympathise!! I jhate sleep deprivation as it turns me into a moody cow not to mention feeling so tired!
Ginger - Hope the boys calm down soon. M is exhausting too.
H, it will take time for them to catch up again with all the constant feeding like that. But just trust that they are working perfectly
G, it's hard when they get to that stage isn't it? I hope they give you a break soon.
Cally I had to laugh at the 'Kenny' story.
MD, definitely apply for the consideration. I've known of people who have applied for that sort of thing for far lesser reasons and there is no harm in at least asking
G: oh man the loo paper is a real bug bear of mine too! Leila I reckon could dispose of a whole roll in one go if I let her. Leila has also been mega hard in the fun department too. ATM if it's not for her then she just complains and moans the whole time. It is so exhausting...and so far I still only have one kid to really contend with! Marta is still doing cute easy to please baby stuff lol
None of my kids ever did the loo paper down the loo thing thank god! Only if they were a bit over zealous in wiping their bums LOL. But we had plenty of other delightful activities they did instead. DH and I were talking last night about babies and I said I just couldn't go back to having another baby in the house and DH said it would be sorta nice - not in a 'wish I didn't get a vasectomy' way, but just lamenting on the passing of our baby days and I said no way! I am so happy to be out of that stage now I just couldn't do it all over again with a new toddler and have to go through those full on phases. I know I am well and truly done having kids because now I look at other women with their prams and toddlers and babies and think thank christ that's not me!
Me too Ginge. It's taking all my energy to stay afloat atm! a third? What was i thinking? :wall:
Sorry for you loss MD.
