Hey All,
Kel thats good you got the result you wanted. ;)
We had a really up and down weekend, lots of good but we had a family BBQ on Saturday night (in law family) and DH had previously told his brother the sex of the baby and the name we liked (news to me!) His bro had told his family which includes a 9yr old girl who told EVERYONE there (again, news to me!) Until his MIL tells me she hates the name and hopes we dont use it blah blah blah, I told her I dont care for the names she called her children either but thats every mothers perogative. :jawdrop: Why when having a baby is such a miracle to people need to be negative and awful? I am so mad about it.
Sorry for the rant!
-
Oh Jen you poor thing!!! I will never understand others negativity either! Seriously, what is wrong with people??????????
I had that with MIL - not so severely but she told me she didn't like Ethan and that it was too hard to say...it's like - that's what we've chosen, we're not going to change it because she doesn't like it!!!!
I think they're the kind of people that like the world to revolve around them and then get bothered and make a fuss when it doesn't! I also think it's a lot worse with the mothers of men as well (I'm making a mental note to never be like this with my DIL's LOL! But then I never make those kind of comments now so don't know why I would start)
Big hugs to you though...the name you choose will be perfect for your little munchkin - try not to let them get to you (I know, easier said than done!)
Had a visit out to Cindy's today with the boys - they had lots of fun and we had a good gasbag...I'm soo tired now though and am going to try a bit of a nap...don't think it will happen but worth a try - dh is home and Ethan's asleep so we'll see...Chat later!
-
Oh Kris, you're bringing back awful early pg memories for me  The tiredness - urgh! Sounds like you're not too sick though so that's a good thing. Did I read you're having a scan next week?
Jen, how horrible of your BIL's MIL (I think I got that right!) to tell you she didn't like the name. Tough bickies! When will people learn to keep their unwanted opinions to themselves. Don't let her get to you, she's obviously a rude, silly woman, so just ignore her.
Kel, phew on the pg scare! Just let me know when you find out the dates you're off work and we'll get together. Congrats on the good sleep :)
Kaz, are you trying for a particular gender? Good luck!
Mel, yay on the long sleep! I can't believe Becca is already down to just one sleep!
Us, well we've had a rough week, but last night was almost back to normal. Jared had been getting up twice a night for feeds. We thought it might have been him adjusting to solids, but on reflection, I think it must have been a growth spurt. He seems to have grown in length the past few days. We're off to to the Nurse tomorrow for his six month check up so we'll see... he did weigh 10.2kgs on the Wii the other day though. It was funny, the Wii told me that I had to remember to bend my knees when lifting heavy things
Ben has been great, but his day sleeps seem to be getting later and later which is a pain. For the first time ever he's been kicking up a bit of a stink about going to bed during the day. I really hope this isn't 'the end of his day sleeps.
Okay gotta run :)
-
Hi!
Dis - LOL...the tiredness is a killer isn't it??? It's just been getting worse and worse this week along with the nausea - I haven't thrown up but just feel off a lot...At the moment I'm just hoping it means I have a healthy bubba in there!!! My scan is on Friday...
Wow at Jared weighing 10.2kg!!! I think Ethan would be lucky to weight around 8kg! LOL...he has his mchn visit on Thurs. It's meant to be his 8m one but they're so busy at this mchn that he'll be 9mo for it...
Bugger Ben is mucking around with sleeps as well...Dylan has pretty much dropped them altogether although if we go in the car he falls asleep!
The little buggers are still mucking around at bedtime...keep coming out...they think it's hilarious.
I'm about to eat a nice big bowl of peppermint choc chip icecream - yummmmmmmmmm!
Chat later!
-
Oh yum...peppermint choc chip ice cream.......
Sounds like all is going well for you Kristie. Goodluck with your scan on Friday. Will be thinking of you.
Jen, hugs, some people just have no idea when to keep their opinions to themselves. I cant wait to hear what name you have. I found choosing the second name of the same sex the hardest coz i thought I had already chosen the best name in the world!!!
Mel- your little man is not so little. Was Ben that big at that age? Olivia and rebecca are within a few hundred grams of each other. Bec weighed 8.6 last week at her 8.5 month check up.
I just did a short workout today coz bec has been grizzly and crawls up to me on the balance board. So it was 10 minutes, but I managed to walk Southland over and over...did some window shopping so I think I did a few kms! At least the wii says I have lost another 0.5kg...yay.
I am so tired today. The thunderstorm last night was just fun. Our stupid dog goes mental so she ended up coming in the house and woke up rebecca...who slept in our bed for the rest of the night. Bec only had an hour sleep again today. I try so hard to get her down in the arvo but she wont have a bar of it. Yesterday though she had 2 sleeps. Shes cutting her top teeth, shes so unhappy, at least she loves bonjella! Olivia fell asleep yesterday at 430 on the dining chair. So she wouldnt go to sleep til 1030 last night. Today I had her screaming big time coz I found her out the back yard on the trampoline with her jeans and shoes off, nappy in her hand trying to pick up her poo. I got her inside and cleaned her up but she flat out refused to get dressed so I kept her inside. I think the whole suberb heard her scream!!!
Anyway I am off to bed
-
Well, I'm going to have a totally me post here cause I need to get it out before I explode!!!! Sorry you guys get to cop it again...
Well after a week or two of being totally great giving me time out and helping me around the house, DH is back to his old ways. He's helping sporadically, washed the dishes yesterday, but that was it, even though he was home ALL day with the kids. (I worked 6.45am-3.15pm yesterday, so an early morning and full day work). He tells me they won't let him do anything, well, you know what I manage to keep the house relatively clean, get the kids and me ready to go to childcare/work, make good nutritious healthy breakfasts, lunches and dinners (not just peanut butter sandwiches, breakfast bars or tinned spaghetti every day), go to work, pick the kids up, come home, feed, bath and play with the kids, then put them to bed. All on no more than 5hrs broken sleep every night. EVERY ****ING DAY. You can't manage it onc in every while? You can't even do more than wash dishes? He didn't even make dinner, or get meat out or anything. I had an atrocious night sleep (nothing new, but worse than usual!) and I was sooo looking forward to coming home and having a nanna nap. But when I got home he says 'Lets go out and get some food for dinner. I won't be here remember. He has a boys night out- a poker night. Yes I remember, I want to have a sleep cause we will be having a horrible night as we usually do when you're not here. Plus I've got the headache from hell and my eyeballs are hanging out of my head. Nope, we need food for dinner. So he gets Lily ready to go out. But Liam can't go cause he needs to be fed and DH can't wait 20mins til he's finished. PLus he woke from his arvo sleep at 12. He's tired.....Arrrrghhhhh!!!!!!!!! I have told him soooo many times not to put him to bed til after 1 at the earliest for his arvo nap cause he WILL NOT have 3 sleeps anymore. But hey what would I know I'm not just his mother. So my arvo sleep went out the window. I was stuck at home with a tired whinging baby, with my headache from hell. When DH got home at 5pm, he had a chicken and pasta salad and bread. So not what I wanted and so not very healthy. I had a bit fed and bathed the kids. He kept on asking whats wrong but I just couldn't talk to him. I was trying very hard not to be resentful and allow him his night out, but he also had soccer for four hours on Sunday and I've had no break at all since......I don't even remember. About two weeks. I feel like I live in ground hog day. All I do is clean cook look after kids don't sleep clean more, and around we go again and again.
Ok think I've gotta stop now....that's enough whining. Sorry. Again.
-
Big hugs Kel...you poor thing! You sound like you need some time out!!! I hope you plan some for yourself on the weekend!! I hope you have a better day today...xo
Hey, maybe it would be a help to your dh for you to leave a list of things you'd like him to try and get done??? Just a thought....
Mel - LOL at finding the second name harder - Try no.4! LOL - I have absolutely no idea for names this time around...I had Lily for a girls name the whole way through as well and now one of my friends is p/g and calling her girl Lily...Not that I would imagine I'm having a girl but is it bad to call them the same name as a friend??? She's just an old school friend - we don't get together socially or anything I just drop in every 6 months or so to say hi and we chat on facebook...????
Bec sounds like she's doing well!! I have Ethans mchn on Thur - I would be surprised if he ways that! LOL!
Oh no about the poo on trampoline!! Gross! LOL...hope you got a better nights sleep last night!! Ethan slept through again thank god - it's been about 2 weeks...I think I may go in to him to early because he grizzled at about 11.30pm and I just let him go for a few minutes and he went back to sleep until 6.40am!
Would have been great if Dylan wasn't up regularly until 1am...Dh was out so I had to keep getting up so I'm sooo tired today...
We have a day at home today though so that's nice...just going to chill out - really need to get some washing and housework done but so can't be bothered...
Chat later !
-
Hugs Kel- blokes are funny beings arent they! My dh tries very hard but gives up just as quickly because...they dont do things for him, so I am left cleaning up the mess so to speak!
Kris- bec was up every three hours last night. I just think its her teeth, Shes almost crawling properly now. She does it really slowly but can only do a few movements before sliding down.
Nothing wrong with calling her whatever name...if she turns out a girl!!! Different if it was a real close friend.
Ok..tmi...my nipples are tingling right now!!! I still have drops of milk. I have boobie issues! Gosh I am so clucky I think thats my problem!
-
Mel - awww bugger being up so much! Hopefully those toothie pegs pop through soon! Yeah that she's starting to crawl!!!
I think it's best I start thinking of boys names given my history - LOL!!!!
omg...tingling nipples??? Are you sure your not p/g???
3 more sleeps until my scan!!! I'm so nervous...I kind of feel like everythings ok now but in saying that it wouldn't surprise me if there's no heartbeat given my dates...aaahhh - trying not to think about it too much...I'll be really cross though if all this nausea and tiredness is for nothing - LOL!!
Chat later!
-
I'm sure everything will be fine... you have a lot of symptoms. I am definately not pg. I just finished af.. and I am still on the pill
-
Time to get rid of the pill Mel! LOL...is dh happy to ttc again???
-
Yes he is.... but i have just got my hands on the book...how to choose the sex of your baby, so I need to read that and then we can practice for a boy! I should finish this cycle and then see. I also wanted to loose that 5kgs first
-
Yes he is.... but i have just got my hands on the book...how to choose the sex of your baby, so I need to read that and then we can practice for a boy! I should finish this cycle and then see. I also wanted to loose that 5kgs first
-
Mel, OMG at Liv and the poo! I would totally freak if Ben did that! At least she was trying to clean up her own mess
Wow at your tingling/milk producing boobs! It's been a while now since you stopped BFing hasn't it? Good luck TTC :) We are going to stop contraception in about three months, but I reckon nothing will happen until Jared cuts WAY back on his feeds. Besides, you have to DTD to make a baby, and DH and I have only managed it once in the past five weeks or so!!!!
Kel, you poor thing. When are you having time off work? When we catch up you can have a big whinge about your DH and let it all out :) I still don't know how you even get out of bed of a morning with so little sleep! You probably feel it even worse now that you had a fairly good (for you) sleep the other day. Hang in there.
Kris, do you think it'll be another boy? An old schoolfriend of mine had her fourth earlier this year and she had a little girl after three boys :) She said it was totally weird to have a girl and say "She" and "Her" to everybody  I'm sure your scan will be all good. The nausea and tiredness are good signs - not to mention your doubling HCG scores!
Us, we had another good night last night - yay it seems Jared is back to normal after his growth spurt last week. We went to the clinic this morning and he was 10kgs on their scales and 71cms. At least I know why my shoulder is buggered! He's loving his food though, banana and avocado are his favourites and he doesn't seem to like apple which sucks because I always have apples in the house - they're longer lasting than avo and nana!
Ben has been fantastic today. Was really patient down at the clinic, just sat and played with his trains, complete with commentary  He was most disappointed when our regular nurse wasn't there and told the new nurse "Kathy's sick" I don't know how he'll cope when he realises Kathy isn't coming back! When we got home, we did some colouring in and playing, which I rarely get the chance to do with him one on one. It was just a really lovely morning. I also got him down to bed before 1pm, which I haven't managed in weeks. Hopefully this will mean a bedtime earlier than 9:30pm tonight!
I'm going to go have a rest now, my shoulder is really throbbing. I think I might have to go and have the scan after all :( God only knows how I'll manage that!
-
Hi All,
Kel- Sounds to me like you guys ideally need to move somewhere cheaper so you can give up work. Thats my two cents! At least if you have a **** night you dont have to "work" the next day. I know it probably depends on you DH getting a transfer somewhere, but if you keep going the way you are you are going to have a meltdown. If its upsetting you this much, maybe you need to say something to DH when its happening, I know its hard when you are upset to confront him but let him know, you cant feel any worse than not saying anything? IYKWIM? You sound like you are in a really awful place right now, hugs to you I know how you feel re Groundhog Day!
Mel - Oh man that is too gross with Olivia on the trampoline! She is hilarious with her stripping! You must be the best milk producer ever with those boobies of yours! Good luck with TTCing for a boy - tell you its way more fun than trying for a girl if you get my drift....
Dis - Thats lovely you had a good morning with Ben and he was so well behaved for you at the Dr's - they surprise you sometimes dont they? Glad your nights seem to be getting better. Thats great Jared is loving his food - Beau still loves avo mixed with tuna, god love the big boys. love a big bubba!
Kris - You will be fine hun, as the girls are saying you have loads of good healthy PG symtoms - I have a scan too on Thursday and cant wait to see bubba too I think its fine to call your bub Lily if its a girl, if you like the name go for it. As you said its not a close friend or family. My mum had three boys then me so you never know....
Us- We are ok, went to playgroup yesterday and have been relocating a massive Agave(a succulent about 1.5 metres!) into the garden today (which i got in trouble for via texting from DH) and just assembled a new toddler bed (bigger one) from Ikea via Ebay for Beau. Gosh he loves his bed and blankie. pillows etc, said "WOW" when I told him it was new for him, cute.
Thanks for your support with my MIL, she is a weird one. My BIL dropped in yesterday to ask if we were still friends after he blabbed the name and sex etc, I said we were but not his mum cause she is a b****! He agreed! I made a list of twenty names for DH to look at and he crossed out everyone except the one his mum hates, ha ha! I shudder to think how weird our boys names would be if DH let me pick them myself! :D
-
Hello all!
Firstly I just want to apologise for my rant the other day. I was having an especially yucko day and night (in case you didn't notice  ). So again, I am sorry you girls copped it. I had a melt down with DH and he realised how stressed out I have been getting. I'm trying to work up the courage to go to the dr about my feelings, maybe see a counsellor or something, but I'm a wuss. I'm scared I guess. I'd really rather not go onto any medication or anything. I don't know!! Maybe I just need someone to talk to...who knows?? I certainly don't, lol! That's the problem!
Kris, unfortunately I don't get weekends. DH works odd days, so not always weekends off, actually he rarely gets whole weekends off. His roster usually includes one or both weekend days. Plus soccer on Sundays which he prioritises. It's his time out so that's fair enough, but he only plays 2 45 min halves, I don't understand why it takes 4-5 hrs. I don't remember when I had 5hrs to myself! I had time out this arvo, went to the gym. And the other morning I left for work early and stopped off for a chai latte (mmmm, mmmm!) and pancakes. And I told DH that I would be sleeping in this morning. Slept til 9am, ahhhh bliss! So I have enforced some time out for myself.
I have tried the list thing for DH. He just doesn't do it. He says he tries, which he very well might. I just don't understand why I can manage it, and then some and he can't do half of it. I don't think it's unacheivable, or my expectations are too high. And it's often things that he just has to do, like change the kids nappies. On more than one occaision I have come home from work and he hasn't changed the kids nappies. Or get meat out for dinner, I'll cook it, just get it out! If I sleep in Lily eats biscuits for breaky. Liam has tinned food for dinner (which I usually only use for going out or if I'm sick), even though I have home made frozen meals in the freezer for him. Aaanywaaayyy...I could go on and on so I'll stop now!
Fingers crossed for you scan. And I think Lily is a great name for your bub if she is a girl ;). Absolutely perfect! I don't think it would matter much if you have the same name as your friend, especially if you don't see her often. Maybe you could use Lily in a different way, like Lillian, Lilliana, Lilibeth....
Mel, goodluck with ttc! And getting your boy :) .
Dis, my holidays are next week for the week. So if you're free, so am I all week :D !!
LOL @ DTD to make a baby. That's one reason why DH and I won't be having another....we just can't seem to coordinate ourselves. We've gone from DTD every second day at least to every second week, if that....not happy Jan! But with him working odd days, and Lily has a sex sensor, anytime we get close there she is, plus me being soo tired so much of the time, well...I'm sure you get the picture!
OMG, Jared is 10kg??? Liam is 10.2kg now, and Lil is only just 13kg on a good day! As you said no wonder your shoulder is sore! By the way I hope it's on the mend. It's great when you have days like that with your bubs isn't it. I love to play playdough, paint, build and draw with Lily when Liam is sleeping. I always try to do one or the other once a day with her. I keep them packed away so it is something special she and I can do together.
Jen, yeah, that's our line of thinking with going remote with DH's work. We can rent out our unit, will be paying next to nothing in rent and be living in a house and nicer area than we do at the mo. Nothing but positives, plus we don't have anything keeping us here really. I don't get much practical help from family other than to look after the kids so I can work, which I won't need to do if we can get a good posting in the country...Plus I just need a change, a big one.
Tsk, tsk doing heavy lifting in the garden! Naughty girl!!
So what names would you be choosing if it were up to you? I would have no idea if I had to name another baby boy...it took us forever to agree on Liams name! I would find it pretty easy for a gilr, though DH and I have such different taste in names.
Ok ladies that's it for me gotta shower and go to bed. I'm trying to make it into bed at a half decent hour!
Thankyou all for your support
-
Hi!
Mel - Making boys is fun - LOL!!! Fair enough with the weight loss - I'm so undisciplined, I was always thinking I'm just going to get fat again I may as well worry about it when I'm done - LOL!!
You're doing such an amazing job though!!
Dis - Wow at ttc again soon!! You never know - I've always fallen p/g while bfing!!
Ummm....I'm assuming I'll have another boy but I don't know - p/g wise I feel the same but I dont' think that's probably a really good indicator anyway...It would be nice to have a girl but I'm more than happy with my boys!!
Wow on such a big boy!!! Ethan has his weigh in tomorrow...I'll be surprised if he's 8kg!!
Jen - Have fun at your scan tomorrow!! Oooh I can't wait to hear what name you have picked!!
Kel - DO NOT APOLOGISE for your rant - that's what we're hear for!!!!! I think it's probably important to speak to someone if you feel you need to...otherwise I think what your doing with getting some exercise is a really great idea - it is often noted that if people are feeling down doing exercise can really help lift your mood! Big hugs though...good on you for talking to dh about it - you may just have to keep on to him so he really understands what your feeling..men can be a bit thick sometimes!! LOL!
Sounds great to get the time out where you can if you don't have weekends...anytime will do as long as it's for you!
Hmm I have no ideas about your husband with not changing nappies...LOL...that's a bit of a worry!!!
Hehe - I thought you might have a fondness for the name Lily!! LOL...I like it because it's so pretty and feminine and in a house full of boys would be good - also then she could have my middle name - so she would be Lily Ann...(all of the boys have significant middle names...)
As for me, I just had a yummo dinner out with the girls (old school friends) was so nice to go out - I think I forget there's a whole world out there sometimes!! LOL!
I've managed to get Dylan to sleep the last 2 days on the couch over lunch which has been great so he's been a lot happier for it!! He's got a think with beanies at the moment and there was a moment today where he was starkers with just a beanie on - had to take a photo - LOL!
Kids are well, I'm well...not much else happening really!
I know it probably sounds funny but I really look forward to hopefully one day catching up with you all in real life!!!! I know it probably won't be for a long time but I think it will be great for it to happen!!! When we're all finished breeding and feeding...LOL!
On that note...I will chat to you all later!! xo
-
Hey Kris and Jen, was it today you were both having scans? How did you guys go?
-
-
Kel, I think Jen is having her scan today :)
Next week is good for me for a meet up. I only have swimming on Thursday, but apart from that, we're wide open. Pick a day that suits you best and we'll get planning.
Don't apologise to us for having a rant. We've all done and it that's a big part of why this group exists. I do think you should speak to your doctor though. You don't have to go on medication if you don't want to, but it will probably really help to just talk to somebody about it all.
Kris, I would love to catch up with everybody in real life too! Aren't we going to have a girlie weekend away when all our kids are older? Didn't we pick Hamilton Island or something? :)
Lily Ann is beautiful. I really like the name Lily too, but Craig doesn't since he works with flowers all day every day  We have Amy Anne picked out for a girl so I like Ann/e too!
Good luck for tomorrow!
Jen, how did your scan go? How cute is Beau about his new bed?!?! I have no idea what we're going to do about Jared's bed when #3 comes along. The two boys will have to share a room, but I don't think it's big enough for two singles and Ben will be too little for bunks. How do you find toddler beds? Worth getting?
Was Beau always a big boy? Jared wasn't particularily big when born (3.75kgs) but since about 6 weeks he's been a bit of a chunk. Is Beau still big now? Just curious as Jared has thrown us a bit - nobody in our family is particularily big, especially length-wise, so it seems a bit odd!
Us, well we had swimming this morning. Ben is still really nervous about getting his head wet, but then doesn't want to hop out of the pool! My sis reminded me though that I used to always try and swim with my head out of the water when we were kids. I guess he gets it from me! As soon as you distract Ben with a toy boat though, he'll do anything. Seemed to be more of a drama today though. Just getting ready and out of the house and then home to baths (the chlorine is SO strong), lunch and bed for DH and the kids. By the time all that is done, I'm ready for bed too! I sometimes wonder how I'm going to cope when I have more children than hands...
J has been sleeping really good yet again. Last night DH woke him up (unintentionally) when he left for work. He was about due for a feed anyway though. The problem is that when he gets up at 3:30 or whenever, he's then up for an hour and a half! Nearly EXACTLY an hour and a half every night. Last night I gave up trying to get him back to sleep and just let him play, and when an hour and 25 mins were up, he was looking around at me like "I'm ready for bed now...". As soon as I picked him up he snuggled into me and fell asleep! I know I shouldn't encourage him to play, but after many nights of trying to get him back off to sleep straight away and having it take an hour and a half, this is just a lot easier.
Ben had a bit of a nightmare of something last night though. He woke up at about 11pm and asked for his light to be put back on. Weird, he's NEVER done that before. I'm hoping it's just a one-off.
I booked our apartment for out Qld holiday today! Can't wait - less than three months to go!!!!
-
Hello....can i just say Kel...blast away. I dont mind you letting loose. We are hear to listen to you. I find myself quite often letting loose myself and it feels good. As long as you feel better and can get some advise and support.
Kris- good luck with your scan. I love Lily Ann.
Mel- ooh you lucky thing having a holiday. Isnt it a bugger when they like to play in the middle of the night. Miss r decided to have a bumper night last night. I was up at 12, then 245 the 4(with Liv) then 5. That killed me...dont know how you do it kel! Bec is getting the top teeth now and they are really bothering her. I forget to give her panadol, but she likes the bonjella.
This is a bt all over the place! Olivia had a dermatologist appointment today. We are on a strict 3 cream regime. If you look at the pics I put on fb recently her mouth has flared up big time. He seems to think it is partly fungal part dermatitis and is a bit concerned that she may be resistant to creams over time. Hes refering her to the paeds at Monash, so hopefully things will work out fine.
DH is packing his car as we speak. Hes off on a boys weekend til sunday arvo. Am a bit grizzly at him coz hes not prepared. Last night he had to do a service on the car, while I cooked cleaned bathed and bedded 2 cranky kids. He has known about this for ages. Now hes rushing about packing. And yesterday he drove me nuts about these stupid number plates for the 4wd...so i got them for him just to shut him up!
L1FT3D...great. It was soooo important to get them. So now the cc is maxed up and because its tax time the bank balance is crud. this is my rant! Priorities all over the place. So I am not going to feel guilty this weekend going out with friends AND i want to have my baby soon...so i am!
Anyway having an early dinner....chat soon:)
Oh I forgot to add that my nipples are still tingling. Its like a burning/tingling sensation...any thoughts? Maybe its just when I come on here!!!! Just kidding!
-
Hi girls,
Well, I'm having a pretty down few days. Making me feel so crappy. I'm not teary or anything just feel really bleugh. I am still wondering if I'm pg, lol! It would explain a few things. Tiredness, emotional, off my food. But that could be depression too...and I think it's also the fact that my good friend just had her baby a few days ago, and I'm feeling clucky cause my little man is almost one. AF isn't due for a week or so, so I just have to wait. It was a struggle for me to get out of bed this morning, Liam had a tossy turny night, and Lily woke a few times. Like the song, I'm sick and tired of being sick and tired. Have to get to the dr. Maybe tomorrow. I'm not going to work today. I have a headache and just feel horrible, so I will rest and clean the house, lol! I'm still taking Lily to cc and Liam to mums though.
Kris, with DH and the nappies, it's not that he doesn't want to, I think he genuinely forgets. He's more than happy to do it if I remind him, but he thinks it's ok to leave them til they're SOAKED. I mean wet yes, but not hanging down to their knees wet. Lily Ann is a gorgeous name! I think you should do it!! And good luck for today, I'm thinking of you and keeping everything crossed :crossfingers:
I hope we all get to meet one day too. I think it's doable, it will just take some planning!
Dis, I am free Tue or Wed, so either of those days. My days filled up quickly!! Do you have any idea of somewhere we can meet?
Liam was wake for an hour and a half last night too. I have no idea why. Usually I feed him and he's straight back off to sleep, but last night he was chatting and smacking me in the head. He thought it was funny when I moved him and told him NO! Little bugger. I wasn't amused, I can tell you....
Mel, I hope the creams work for Olivia. Poor little mite. I noticed the rash on her face, it looks sore!
I hope you have a nice weekend. And I hope your DH got away without too much fuss. They have no idea how stressful it can be when they go away or leave at routine times. My DH does it when he goes for soccer training, always at 6.30, dinnertime, bath time, bedtime, grrrr!
Ok gotta go kids are over watching tv (great mum that I am, surfing the net whist the kids are glued to the tv.....). Hope you all have a great day!
-
LOL Kel- I do that too, surf the net while the kids are watching tv. Problem is now becca is crawling, shes grizzling and almost at the kitchen for me!!!
It sounds like you are suffering a mild case of depression (unless youre pg). You have definately had a tough time with both your kids and sleep deprivation is one of the most challenging things. It can get the toughest of people. You really should go to the Dr and get a referral to see a counsellor. Nothing wrong with having a chat with someone outside the family and work through your issues. I hope you do goto the drs. Also have a good day on your own today. Do something for you.
Olivia has taken to squealing. She knows the word and does it all the time. I just yelled at her. I am so sick of it. She squeals because she knows it drives me insane and I tell her it hurts my head....she does it more.....except for now because in my deep aurthoritarian voice I slapped the bench and said....STOP IT! Anyway shes a monkey...today she told me she didnt like her breakfast and it needs to go in the rubbish!!! OK!
Rebecca is at my feet pulling my pants and grizzling.
Olivia is telling me bye bye....love you too!
Kris...good luck today:)

Hi!
Just a quick one from me - Had my scan and everything is all good!! Am due March 27th so am 6w6d along...I can't believe it! Such a relief!!!!
Will catch up properly later!! xoxoxoxox
-
Yay Kris, so glad to hear all is well!
Mel, Ben is yelling now, kinda like the boy equivalent to squealing I guess. It's so annoying and I get so cross at him when he does it just as I get Jared to sleep!
Grrrr at your DH leaving everything to the last minute. I'm thinking I'll start organising what we're going to take to Qld soon just to avoid that last minute stuff.
Kel, either day is fine with me. I'm happy to visit Lollipops or whatever. We could always go to a park if you know of one near you, or a McCafe with a play area. Whatever suits you best.
Please make time next week to go off to the doc. I know I always find excuses not to do things (for example I still haven't had the scan on my shoulder!), something always comes up. I think you really should talk to somebody now.
Jared's bottom two teeth are almost through. He's been pretty good considering how close they are to cutting. We didn't have a good night last night though. He had a belly ache, and this mornings' three dirty nappies in two hours confirmed that for me! He's had another one since too. It's probably a bit to do with teething, but he's also having a bit of trouble adjusting to food. Banana being his favourite certainly isn't helping either.
Ben's been amazing us every day. This morning he helped me make a marinade for our steaks and I was telling him what each thing was as I added it. When DH got home, I told Ben to tell him what we put in the marinade, fully expecting him to say "Black sauce" (soy sauce) and leave it at that, but he then comes out with "Brown sugar" and "Not water" The 'not water' is vinegar  I couldn't believe that he remembered the ingredients when I only said the names once. I tell you, our babies are long gone and there are little people in their places! :)
-
Great news Kris...a little sticky one. I think my timgling nipples are fom coming on here...just ssoooo clucky! Its all psychosomatic!
Mel sounds like what Liv does, just when Bec is off to sleep is her most highest pitch noise. Boys sound like they are doing well too.
Am tired today. Just spent a few hours with some friends at the local play centre. Then found some cheap barbies at the second hand store. Olivia gave me the one that has her hair cut off and she has the one with the long frizzy hair. I survived one night on my own, now tonight, I have baths to do. Becs a grizzle guts with her top teeth. Lucky last night was semi ok...was better that i got to bed hog:)
Ok becs filling her pants....
-
Ok a me post...i am so tired and sad and angry....just tired. I had such a crap night last night. This is how it goes....
so i went to bed at 930, bec woke at 1030 for a feed, which takes 30 minutes coz shes sooo slow, then she woke at 12 and had another feed, then liv woke at 2am with nightmares and didnt go back til 3am, bec woke at 215, got to sleep around 3am, bec woke at 5am, then woke again for the day at 630.
Rebecca had 5 feeds from dinner time last night til this morning. WTF??? Her top teeth are almost through. A growth spurt??? I dont know. AM so tired. And dh is away...probably getting great sleep.
Anyway i am catching up with girlfriends from highschool..the old crew...some of whom i havent seen since 1992!!! Hopefully I will stop tearing up by then!
-
Big hugs Mel. We had a crappy night too, though on the bright side, Lily slept through in her own bed, yay!!! But Liam is teething too. He bit me twice last night, not happy jan! He just had a 2hr morning nap though, and Lily is now asleep too, yay! DH is off to work though for a night shift which sucks. I'm so not in the mood for the kids on my own today. I'm teary from tiredness too. But DH is on holidays for 2 weeks as of tomorrow, so I should get a break then! I hope you have a great time with your friends. Ok gotta go Li needs lunch!
-
Hi All!
Back early from my city working three days, it was just horrendous! Needless to say Im reluctant to do it again, no matter how nice the money is. DH kept Beau up last night till 8:30pm when I got home so I could smother him with kisses! The scan went really well on Thursay and we got a disc of images and a dvd and a cool 4d shot - so cute, he is wiggling heaps now and I can feel him a lot more - especially when I didnt sleep a wink on Thursday night away from home! Poor little thing knew mumma was stressed too!
Kris - Ah what a releif your scan went well. Great news, love the name too - Anne is my middle name as well! Pretty popular one that! Would love an IRL catch up too! Should be the retreat in QLD I went to - so amazing!
Kel- I agree with the girls, thats what we are here for hon! Let rip whenever you want. I have a friend up here that has had her second bub six months ago and just cant get it together since, emotionally or anything else. They offered her drugs too but she has opted for a councellor and has her second session this week. I honestly beleive your hormones dont return to normal until you stop bf'ing too - its like a 2yr rollercoaster hey? Enjoy your holidays and get onto those kids routines with DH to support you and get some rest.
Mel- Hope you had a great time once you caught up with your old friends, hope your DH has had crap nights sleeps while he is away too (is that mean?)!
Dis - Beau has always been big 4.3kg when he was born and he would be at least 17kg now, I have three big football size brothers so its not surprising, DH is quite small as are his bros? Who knows? I cant remember how much he weighed when Jared's age:D I would reccomend the toddler beds. I just upsized B's one from Ikea on ebay and the bed and the mattress cost $20. About $200 new so not expensive either way really - I did it cause I keep looking at the spare single bed and it just looks too big for him when the new bub comes, and his old toddler bed is the base of the cot for the new baby IYKWIM? B can tell you what goes in a cake, including "banilla" (vanilla), he loves baking and I just bought some dinosaur cut outs for cookies, just like his dad, little chef!
Seems to be lots of nightmares happening with the older ones atm on here? Us too here! Weird huh? Love to know what they are nightmares of as they have so many worries!
-
Hi all!
Mel, yep, thinking I most probably have depression :( I have thought it for a while but just trying to deal with it myself I guess, either that or living in denial! I am going to the dr tomorrow to see what she will do for me. The sleep thing is a big issue, but I think I still have some sort of issue. I did some survey things on the beyond blue website and it says I have mild- mid range depression. Anyway, I'm gonna deal with it!
I hope your weekend was ok after your crappy night. Did DH get home today? Or tomorrow?
LOL @ Olivia telling you where her breaky needed to go...Lily does that all the time "I don't like it mummy I put in the bin"...little brat. She's talking sooo much now. She's such a parrot....lol, I told her she was a parrot today and she went to DH and said 'I a carrot Da' then when we laughed at her she gave this huge fake laugh, it was soo funny!!
Kris, sorry I didn't say it before , but congrats again!! Yayyyyy at your STICKY little bubba in your tum!!
Dis, how is Tuesday for you then? But again, where? I would rather a play centre somewhere cause then I don't have to worry about Lily as much as if we were at a park and she could run free! I wouldn't be able to sit and talk at all! Ooohh, I'm excited, lol!
I hope J's tummy is better.
Jen, Yay you got home early. It must be lonely here on your own. THough I'm sure you have friends to visit. And yayyyy your scan went well too. How exciting that he is a squirmy wormy now! That is always the best part of pg for me, when I could feel bubs move, but before it gets uncomfy, lol!
I have no idea why my emotions have gone sooo haywire all of a sudden (hence why I'm still wondering if I could be pg!). Although I wasn't necessarily my 'normal' self before (whatever that is anymore!) I was able to get through most weeks without crying. This week...holy sheep *****...I have been crying at the drop of a hat. Yesterday I started cause I couldn't go see my girlfriend in hossy. She just had her baby and was going home from hospital so it was useless to go to the hospital. I can go this week to see them, I have time off work, and she's going to try to come to Liam's bday party this weekend, so it's not like I won't be seeing her, but OMG, I just lost it and couldn't get my emotions in check. DH got cranky with me cause I couldn't talk to him and tell him why I was crying. He was frustrated andtrying to help me. But I really had no idea what to tell him. I jsut kept telling him I was being stupid. Which I was. Rationally I knew that, but I just COULD NOT stop it. I sobbed for like an hour. Absolutely ridiculous!
Ok, that's enough from me. Gotta go to bed...lotsa luv to all!! :D
-
Hi!
Dis - We bought bunk beds for the boys but they're seperate at the moment and then we can put them up later on - if that makes sense! We can't fit any other furniture in their room at the moment though - LOL! It doesn't really matter though because they don't spend any time in there cos we have a toy room (for now!)
Sounds like the boys love their swimming! It is a big effort - I used to take the 2 of them and had Dylan in the pram watching while I swam with Louis and then swapped over! LOL! I don't know where I got my energy from - LOL! Especially when I was p/g!!! It's worth it for all the fun they have though!!
Oh no on Jared being up for an hour and a half!!!! Does he cry if you put in back in the cot or will he just play??? Sometimes Ethan chats with himself but eventually dozes off...
Yeah on going on holidays - how fun!!! We were going to go to gold coast next year but will put it off for another year now...
Ben sounds very gorgeous helping you with the cooking!!
Mel - I don't know if it's just p/g brain but it took me so long to work out the numberplates - LOL!!!!!!!
I HATE it when dh decides to do something "important" right at dinner/bath time - drives me crazy too!
You poor thing having such a rotten weekend with no sleep!! Hmm...after Ethan sleeping through for 4 days he's been unsettled the last 3 again - lots of night feeds as well - little buggers aren't they?? I had definitely weaned Louis and Dylan by now and never went back to night feeds...
Hope the creams work for poor Olivia...
Hope you had a nice time out with your friends and that it made up for it!!! Also, hope dh is back and you put him on kiddie duty for a night so he knows what it feels like - LOL!!!
Kel - Big hugs to you...I agree with the girls - probably best to see someone if you feel things aren't improving!
Good on you for taking a day for yourself though!!
My kids are addicted to tv...I always swore I would not be a mum that let her kids watch tv all day and that's exactly what I am at the moment!!! It's awful...but sometimes it's the only way to keep my sanity and get things done - over summer it won't be so bad but then I suppose I'll have a new baby after that so it will be a winter of tv again next year...LOL! I suppose there are worse things???
I hope you manage some rest while your dh is on holiday!!!
Jen - Sorry to hear work wasn't great...Yeah on having a good scan! That's great!! Yeah on bubs moving around - It's the best feeling isn't it!!
As for us - Michael finally told his Mum on Sat that we're p/g...it went ok...they're just worried about us. It's so funny, he's been quite negative about a lot of things and when he's Mum started saying them, he just went - we'll be ok, it's happening now, everything will be fine...so I guess my positivity really rubbed off on him - LOL!!! He even sat down researching cars yesterday so he's got his head around it a lot more! Our house was a pigsty from me in la la land for a couple of weeks so he helped me tidy it up yesterday...yes - would you believe it took us the DAY just to tidy it!!! No housework, just tidying...it's so nice this morning to wake up to an organised house though thats for sure!!
I'm feeling well, tired but m/s has already mostly eased off and that was my only symptom really...
Got to go - this has taken ages and boys are feral - hope I haven't left anyone out! chat later!
-
Hey...just a quick one from me. Last night was just as crappy. I am so ****ty. DH didnt get much sleep. Liv is home today with snots and a cough. I just sold my xtrainer that i got a few months ago and rang dh to tell him and hes not happy. I told him i dont use it, i cant use it coz liv stands on it when i do and i need to pay the credit card coz we buy crap that we dont need...ie number plates for the stupid car. So hes cracked it with me and virtually hung the phone up on me. I dont know if i want to cry of punch something...cry probably coz i dont do punches!!
Hope all is well.
Glad you are going to see your gp kel.
Jen I was up again with liv with nightmares again...every night! Glad things are going well with your pg
Who was talking about bunks? We only have the one room so i was thinking we might get them for christmas...would liv be too young to be on top and Bec too young to be in a big bed at 13months???
-
Big hugs Mel!! You poor thing...I'm sure you guys will sort it all out...it's hard when things get overwhelming sometimes - especially financially! The bad nights sleep you've been getting and dh being away wouldn't be helping things at all either...I hope you manage to have a bit of a relax today - I know, you probably won't but I hope you do!!
I was talking about bunks Mel - Yep...too early to have them for the kiddies...They actually say about 8yo for kids on the top bunk now...something like that anyway...I would probably keep Becca in a cot for a little longer than 13m but that's just a personal opinion...Obviously I've had them in single beds pretty early on - usually around 20 months when the next bubs has come along - Ethan will have to go in a big bed about 18 months this time though...
Got to go - am meant to be going to Cindy's today and I am not ready at all...we're all still in our pj's! LOL!
Chat later!
-
Mel, Sorry you had such a crappy night. Have a good cry, it works wonders sometimes. Becca is probably having a growth spurt - sounds exactly like the week I had two weeks ago. I was at my wits end and J decided to go back to normal - just in time.
I think Liv will be too little for bunks too. We're looking at bunks separated like Kris has, or maybe a toddler bed for a while. Ben went into his single bed at 18/19 months, we just have a rail on the side so he doesn't fall out.
Kris, so glad Michael has come around for you - we all knew he would :) Sounds like your inlaws might be a good source of support.
Kel, tomorrow is good. We could go to Lollipops. There is one at Campbelltown or we could go to the one nearer you? Let me know.
I'm really glad to hear that you are seeing your GP :)
Jen, sounds like you had an awesome scan! It's great when you can see them moving around a lot. 20-22 weeks is pretty much the ONLY time I enjoyed my pregnancies! I was sick for about 20 weeks with both my two and then they started getting too energetic and hurt me from around 22 weeks. I had two acrobats and boy could they move!
Us, we've had a flat-out busy weekend. The boys are so exhausted today - as I am. We're having a jammie day :) I even had a shower and got back into my pjs  Ben's just watching tele. We had his cousins over yesterday. I can tell you now, that five kids for us is DEFINITELY out of the question! Far out - how exhausting! Ben had a ball though, he loves playing with older kids (they are 3, 5 and 8). Saturday we went shopping and I went to an Intimo party. I loved it! I'm even thinking of hosting one and playing with the idea of selling the stuff! I've never held so much as a Tupperware party in my life, so you can tell I liked the stuff. It's not often I find nice bras that fit my 12F boobies! I don't know if I have enough of an outgoing personality to do it though, I'm a bit shy around new people. Kris, I think you have a party plan business don't you? Any advice?
Better go feed the boys and see if I can get Ben away from the tele for a sleep :)
-
Wow i didnt realise that 8yrs was for the top of the bunk. Gees we're in trouble then. We only have the one room for the kids. Maybe the reno is going to come sooner than expected!
DH came home briefly and really didnt bat an eyelid...just noticed the trainer had gone already. I told him i put the $$ on the credit card. Didnt say a word. I have just been to the local shopping centre with my 2 nightmare girls. bec cried and grizzled and didnt want a feed, didnt want lunch. Liv did several runners, some flop and drops and loads of screaming. Managed to get a few bits but took the wrong script to fill.
Hope its a growth spurt with Bec or settles when the top tooth is through. Am almost at witts end....nah, they would have to drive me completely insane to get there! Plus...am still thinking about the third!!!!
-
Helloooo!!!
Good to see everyone has been on here for a chat yay!
Dis- Yeah, I must admit I am starting to be more excited now if that makes sense, now that everything is going ok....have to get started on stripping the wallpaper in the "boys" rooms (love saying that!) as Beau will be swapping rooms too:D Glad you had a busy weekend, hope the boys are nice and tired for you today LOL!
Mel- Wow, your Dh should be happy you are so frugal and responsible with money (I guess its cause you do the books huh?) Sorry you are having a crappy time with the girls atm, at least you are still clucky! How are your tingly boobs? Mine have started to do that occaisonal familiar "filling up" feeling whiich is a bit thrilling! As for bunks, check out the Ikea website? Maybe a trundle bed? I dont know! Its hard when they start getting bigger isnt it?!?
Kris - Good on your Dh for responding that way to your inlaws, must be great to hear him say it out loud. Glad you guys got your house tidyed up! I just cleaned all 40 thousand of our windows and feel better for it - now the floors....
Kel- Let us know how you go with your doctor, I think when you just feel crap about everything, one tiny little thing that usually you would shrug off opens the flood gates, thats pretty classic depression or PND. I think you will feel loads better once you vocalise it to a professional and get started feeling better.
Us - Ok I am going to make you laugh at my placenta brain. On Thursday when I was going to the city I got on the wrong train in a rush after the ultrasound at a strange station, going the wrong way and locked in the carriage that didnt open a the platforms for many stops I rang DH in tears and he came and picked me up and took me BACK to the original station THEN on Friday when I was having an absolute horror time at work (I stayed the night with the lady I work for and she whinged NON stop about her husband/business/life and cried about 20 times even in front of her kids) I didnt sleep at all that night and felt like crap the next morning, so then she left to take her son to the doctors and I sent a text to DH complaining about her and what a crap time I was having then I sent the text to HER by mistake. Beat that PG brain!:D:D:D
-
Wow Jen....i would cry/go mad with catching the wrong train and then having to put up with that lady!! Are you going to post some pics up of you on fb? Love to see your belly:)
Will check out ikea. If we had one other room it would be nice and then i wouldnt worry about bunks. Oh and yes, my dh loves to just pend..especially on the car of his. His number plates turned up today so hes excited! So with what I sold on ebay, I now have paid that off.
Better get off here and do some work!
-
I need to befriend you guys on Facebook! I'm Melinda Blackmore if any of you want to search for me :)
-
Hey Mel is that you with the drink or with mickey mouse?
-
Hi girls,
Well, I didn't go to the dr  Only because I have been to'ing and fro'ing all day! I would have had to have gone to work pick Lil up from day care, Liam up from mums, dropped them at home and then gone to the dr. I will go though I promise. I have been much better today, no tears :) but I still have the tension headaches and feel yuck. I'm not avoiding it.
Kris, I always swore that I wouldn't let my kids watch too much tv too, but they do. They're tv addicts! So is DH though so that doesn't help.
Mel, sorry you had another crappy nite. It sucks huh? Especially when you're used to getting decent sleep! I hope you can catch up.
DH and I looked at getting bunks for our kids too, but they're too young for them, so what we got was an ensemble with a trundle. The trundle is smaller than a normal single bed, but that won't matter for Liam. He will be able to use it til he's a big boy! That is once we get him into it, lol! Lily went into her big girl bed at about 18mths I think and she did ok in it. She just looked sooo tiny in it! I will wait til Liam is sleeping through to put him into his bed though, so who knows when that will be??!!
Dis, great!! We will see you tomorrow. DH said he will come too if that's ok? He's on holidays and said he'd planned on taking the kids to wiggles playcentre tomorrow anyway. He can chase the kids :). We can go to Campbelltown, thats fine. Maybe at 10.30ish? Is that ok. I will PM you my mobile number anyway.
If you want to friend me on FB, I am Kellie Slade. I have a pic of me and Lil as my profile.
Ok gotta go, sorry to those I missed! Lily is haveing a major tanty and DH is screaming at ther like a banshee!
