ooops...i did the other one!!!! der!
Just another delightful night, dh has gone to ses training and although its noble of him to volunteer after the fires we had, i said to him that he just seems to help everyone else and we are put on the back burner. I suggested that he should wait til the girls are older and then go volunteer. Dont think that quite went in! Then he said he was going to ice hockey training at 1015 I just scoffed at him. When will it sink in? My husband is the most kind, caring and helpful person. Is always the first to offer a hand. However, I just seem to be loosing in those stakes. I suppose its not something he enjoys? I dont know? A good talk is needed tonight.
Both girls are snotty. Bec is revoltingly so. Olivia just went to bed fighting and cried herself to sleep. I hate that. She was overtired but insisted taking off her clothes and jumping in the shower with me...what do i do. SO I had both of them crying and wanting me. Its harder now becs moving she crawls up to me and on me. I comletely forgot about it!
Ok have a good night...wishing you all beautiful sleep
Oh and Kel....I know you were busy, but when you have time when your dh is on holidays....go see the dr:) Or I'll....come and get you and take you there myself!
Hi!
Dis - My IL's are ok but they're 2 1/2 hours away so not really good as a close support...they're nice enough but they just worry too much...always bringing up the negatives which just gets tiring sometimes...Like his mum will say things like - Oh, but you've got 3 healthy boys - what happens if this one's not??? You know...stuff like that you really don't want to hear iykwim?
Wow - sounds like you did have a busy weekend!! Sounds like fun though - yeah at having a pj day today!!
Regarding the Intimo stuff - go for it!! You'll be fine - it takes all different sorts of people to do party plan - you don't have to be a loud, crazy person - I'm certainly not! You'll get heaps out of it though, even if you don't want a "career" as such...you'll meet people, get all the products for cheap and make a few $$...I'm actually just giving up mine...too much with no.4 coming..I just don't have the time or energy for it but I'm really glad I did it - I learnt heaps and met some great people!
We had a great arvo out at Cindy's - the boys played well...it was nice to get out of the house - dh has gone out for the night but was in a super happy mood when he got home which was nice for a change - LOL!
They all had late naps though so have been troublesome to get to sleep...all sounds quiet now though so hopefully it stays that way!!
Chat later!
Just realised I've had this page open all day with no updates...LOL! I shall quickly update everyones chatterboxing - LOL!
Mel - Wow - sounds like your coping really well considering you still want your 3rd baby! LOL! They all go through stages though!!
Sounds like a good idea to have a talk - You need to make sure that you're getting what you need from him and then he can do the other things in his time...I know dh used to go out probably around 3 nights a week before kids but now we have an agreement he goes out once a week...twice if there's a good reason...It's something we both agreed on - just the same as he baths the kids each night and puts the older 2 to bed...it's now second nature to him but initially I often had to prompt him or nag (just a little - LOL!) It's worth the persistance...it's too easy to give up when it seems difficult but trust me, that's way worse!! You don't want your relationship breeding resentment!!!! You may have to have this conversation regularly because it doesn't seem to be sinking in but if they think they can get away with stuff they will...just be persistant...honestly, it's just like dealing with children!
I know I crap on about this all the time but I think it's really important...I see so many people in relationships that aren't really working out that great or are having troubles and most of this stuff can be relatively easy to fix...
Anyway...I hope you have a good chat and get some stuff sorted!! xoxoxoxox
Ooh I love Jen's trundle bed idea!! That might be worth looking into!
Jen - Did you just say clean windows??? OMG... you crazy woman!!! I've never cleaned windows in my life - perhaps I should...but it just never manages to make it on to my to-do list!! LOL!
OMG at sending the text message to the wrong person - what happened?????? Did you freak out???? You poor thing catching the wrong train - how good of dh to come and get you!! No wonder you were so relieved to get home!!
Kel - Hope you and Dis have a great time catching up tomorrow - wish I was there with you guys!!!
mmm I must be doing something wrong....you get dh to bath them and put them to bed every night. I do that. I didnt have a chat because he was out when i went to bed. Last night was crap. Becs got a bad cold and ended in with us and tossed and turned all night long and now shes been awake for a while.
Better go...
Mel, definitely get you DH to start at least bathing the kids! Craig does the boys' baths every night. It's the ONE thing he can really do with Jared - the big mummy's boy. I get my peace and quiet for half an hour - an hour every night. Usually I cook dinner, but at least I don't have the kids wanting me while I'm trying to do it.
Gotta run. Jared's still asleep so I should feed Ben and get him ready for our meet up with Kel while I just have the one to worry about!
OMG who's idea was it to get my kids into their beds? I have no idea why I thought this would be a good idea???? I was up 3 times with Liam by the time it was 2am, but at each time I was rocking him for up to an hour to get him back into the cot. He ended up in bed with me. I fed him at 2am and just left him in bed with me. DH was in bed with Lil, so I left Li with me. DH was up 3 times with Lily, and up at 5am for the day with her. OMG, I don't know if this is a very good idea!!!! DH is sooo grumpy. I keep on telling him it will only be for a week or so and he's just going on and on and on. Now he's debating if we should do it at all cause we got so little sleep last night. I don't mind so much either way, though it would be nice to have things back to normal.....ugh, decisions!
Hugs Mel. I know the feeling :(
DH makes a big fuss about bathing our kids. It's such a hassle for him to do it. He will make such a hoohar about the fact he's done it and sigh and tell me it's so hard. It is tough with the two of them, but it's gotta be done, and I do it almost every night! I even get everything ready for him to do it- pj's &, nappies laid out, towels, toothbrushes, heater on...he just has to bath and dress them.
LOL, Dis my kids are both still half naked.....
I'm not making excuses for him. Hes not really that bad, although encouragement is the key! He does sometimes have a bath with them. I am the one who gets them to bed because olivia tells him to go away. I worry about that because what will happen if I am not around for some reason?
I told him I will talk to him about things tonight. Bec is sick so it looks like sleep will not be coming to us until shes better.
Kel- it took me ages to get Olivia into her bed. First I started letting her come in with us, then I just made the decision to keep putting her back. Shes been in there since Feb and shes got the hang of it!!! It hasnt taken 6 months though, I think she got it after a week or 2 that she was going back to er bed. She still wakes some nights and tugs at my pillow. So i walk her back, put her to be and just sit there til shes back to sleep. Some nights I can do it 2 times other nights are great!
Enjoy your meet up today:)
OH BY THE WAY...WHERE DID YOU GET YOUR TRUNDLE BED KEL???
Hi!
Kel - I don't meant to sound harsh, but if you're going to get the kids back into their beds you can't give up half way through the night!!!!! I understand you're super tired and that its extremely difficult but it has to be done for your SANITY!!!! (and dh's also!)
It will make it way more difficult on you and the kids to do it again that way...In saying that if you're not for letting them cry at all them maybe it's best you keep them in your bed...???
I hate to say it, but it will take tears to make this happen - probably all of you!!
I kind of don't blame dh for being grumpy - it won't be just for the week if you don't get it sorted!!!
Big hugs to you both...I know it's hard to do but in the end it's the best for everyone - including the kids because it means they'll be getting good nights sleeps as well!!
(I really hope I don't offend you with this...I can just see you going round in circles though you poor buggers...)
As for bath time - let him complain, but still make him do it!! He knows by complaining that you will do it!!!!
Mel - Yep, sounds like it's time to make him pull his weight! LOL! Of course he's not that bad...I think they miss the signs when we're struggling though and we may need that bit of extra help...Often Michael will watch me sliding with the housework etc and he will wait until it's awful before he asks if I need some help (like this last fortnight! or if I'm sick) Good luck chatting tonight!
Dis - It is nice to be able to do somethings in peace and quiet hey?? When dh is bathing the boys I'm doing last minute tidying up and washing and cleaning the kitchen so that once they're asleep it's OUR time!! We both value that so much...it helps keep us sane! LOL!
Ok..I just want to say - I hope I don't come across like I know it all, I definitely don't..and it's always clearer to see things from an outside perspective! I also don't think that my way is the way everyone should do things, I just share how we do it because it works well for us...please any of you tell me if I sound out of line...I just want the best for you guys and want you all to be happy!!! xoxoxoxoxoxo but I know it might sound like I get on my high horse but I'm just really passionate about making choices that improve our situation...
As for us...Last night Ethan decided to feed at 11.45pm and I did but in my mind that was it for the night!! Then at about 3.45am he started crying...and crying but we were persistant and after about 20min (we went in a couple of times each in that time) he dozed off - although first he abruptly stopped so I sent dh in to check on him - LOL - and then he grizzled about 20min later but dh went in and calmed him and then he slept until 8.30am!! Woohoo!
We've had a nice morning out visiting a friend and the kids had lots of fun and it was nice to have a chat! So now, hopefully it will be relatively quiet afternoon...I so need to do food shopping though but I really can't be bothered! It's amazing how much a couple of big days out wrecks me!! I need more stamina!!
Ok...hope you're enjoying your day!! Chat later!!
Hey All,
My mum is up visiting today so just a quick one to say hi and check on you all.
Dis - Yay friends on facebook - you werent half easy to pick with Mickey Mouse:D!
Mel - Hope your chat with DH goes well, just be honest about it and say how much you love and appreciate him when he does help. Hope Bec doesnt worsen for you x
Kris- Yea windows unfortunately, the whole back of our house is glass so unfortunately unavoidable! I am sure when the baby comes they will be caked with sea salt and I wont care tho! Oh sometimes I just dont understand the comments some people make, your MIL saying about the bubs health WTf? Why say that??? I just dont get it!
Kel- Persist hon, you have this little window of time now with your DH being off to help, stick with it if you feel up to it. Its your decision 100% but are you trying to do TTS with Li? I dont think he is going to make any changes if you are rocking him back to sleep IYKWIM? Maybe give tresillian or karitane a quick call for some specific advice? You have been having a rough time as it is so  whatever you decide.
Anyhoo, we are good here x to all
Hi guys, just a quick one as dinner is ready.
I met up with Kel and her DH and kids today - it was great. Lily and Liam are the two most gorgeous little kids with beautiful big blue eyes. :) We didn't get a whole lot of time to chat because we met up at Lollipops and Ben wanted me to keep going on the big slide with him, but it was still really nice.
Kel, it worked! Jared and Ben both slept for two hours AT THE SAME TIME this afternoon!!!! Woohoo - I got some sleep!
BBL for proper personals if I have time. Tuesdays are always the roughest days in our house because DH works at his second job on Tuesdays and is only home for an hour and a half all day. :(
Hi girlies :)
Well, we had a lovely, but hectic day! After going to lollipops and meeting Dis (Mel), Ben and Jared, we went to my friends house who just had a baby, and just moved into her new house too and Lil and Li played there with her little girl and had a ball with all of the different toys and going outside onto their covered verandah. So I am hoping all of that activity and little time sleeping today (except for cat naps in the car) that they might give us a good night! And I am buggered, lol, so I hope for some sleep.
Dis, yay that the kids slept for you! I hope you had a rest too, Specially if your DH is going to be at work tonight. It was so great to meet you. Thankyou for today! Your boys are so lovely. I loved my little cuddle I got with Jared. My kids have always been way too busy to have much time for snuggles! DH was telling me about Ben talking to him and playing with Lil, and his "C'mon, just one mum..." negotiations, lol. Such a sweetie! Li fell asleep in the car on the way to my friends house, so DH sat in the car again, lol! He didn't mind he pottered about with it and put oil in it, and cleaned out the junk and stuff. Made himself useful for a change ;) As you saw today, he's really great with the kids most of the time, though he does lose his cool pretty easily and says such childish things to them at times. Like today he was telling Lil off for being whiny, and I reminded him she'd had a big day and little sleep and he said 'Oh well I'm tired too, I haven't slept at all", quite seriously! I told him to suck it up, he was the adult and he could control himself... anyway.....
Jen, yay your mum is visiting. It must be nice to have an extra pair of hands! Does she live in Sydney? One of the hard things about moving away, I guess. It would make it all the sweeter when you do see her! Hope you have a lovely day.
Ok, Jen, I'm having a mental block or something, but what is TTS? lol!
I am going to persist with the sleep thing, particularly with Lily. With Liam, I don't know what to do. He slept really well in the cot til 2am, well, not really well, he woke a few times, but I could just pop the dummy in and he'd be back off to sleep, but then 2am came and he was screaming when I tried to put the dum in. He is teething too. Makes it hard to know what he is crying for! But he's back in the cot tonight, and we'll see how he goes. I stuffed him full of food and booby juice so hopefully he will sleep. I might call Karitane tomorrow to get some tips, thanks for the suggestion, I never thought of that!
Kris, I so totally not offended with anything that you say! You're trying to help and I soooo appreciate it. It is sometimes easier to look from the outside and see the problem more clearly and without feelings, IKWYM. Then you can give advice which could be more practical.
I know that it is short term discomfort for long term gain (god I hope it is anyway!!!). It is hard for me at the moment with me going through this mini mid life crisis too! The way DH was acting this morning too after one night of sleep deprivation was ridiculous and I was questioning whether I could deal with him tantrumming too becaus ehe was tired. I tried to talk to him about the aims and goals he wants to achieve. I think we're on the same page, but I'm not sure how long he's going to persevere for. And I don't think I can do it alone.
I can't really let Liam cry too much cause Lily is quite a light sleeper and I don't want to wake her with him screaming, kwim. I'm not sure what to do about that, cause I don't want to replace one horrible habbit (cosleeping- not that that is horrible!) with another (patting and rocking), but I don't want him screaming the house down either....oh the dilemma!
With bath time, I am letting him b!tch and whinge and then tell him to get on with it. As I said I do half of it for him, he just has to actually bath them and dress them, the hard stuff! I do it some nights and he does it others. It's not a chore he has to do every night, so I don't know what his problem is!!
Mel, I got my trundle from Harvey Norman. Fairly exxy at $1300. But really it is two bed in one. I won't be buying Liam a big bed, I will use the trundle cause it has legs that extend and it turns into a big bed. When the legs are down it is a little higher than a mattress on the floor, perfect for him to 'learn' to sleep in his own bed. I got 2 good mattresses too, so that made it more $$. I will just have to get a bed head for Li's bed when he has his own room.
Ok, I have some chocolate icecream to eat and a bath to have, so gotta go!! Hope you're all well :D
Wow its been quiet round these parts.....
Not much happening here - playgroup yesterday, Beau got pushed over so it was drama drama drama for him:doh: This morning he went on the step for whinging CONSTANTLY about the "pram" - meaning "go out". Then we went to a friends and walked down to the beach for a coffee and ice cream and he was an absolute angel even though he was over an hour late for his nap. So he is asleep now and I though I would check in here:D
Kel- TTC just means teach to sleep, just wondering if you were planning on leaving/consoling or what. Hope the last few nights have gone better for you guys and you have been having some fun in the days on holidays! Did you call Karitane? No, my mum lives in the Blue Mountains so even further than sydney LOL! It is nice to see her, I think her limit with B is about 2 days though and she wants her peace back IYKWIM?
Dis- Glad you had a great time catching up with Kel and had a good day!
Hi to everyone else hope you are all well xxxx PS got that Big W baby book/catalogue in the mail the other day, how many great things are on the market now, that werent two years ago?? Beau's old baby clothes are loosing their appeal by the second for the next bub:lol:
Hi!
Will have to catch up later - am off to Bonnie Doon to see the in-laws for the weekend!! Wish me luck - LOL!
Hope you're all well and getting some sleep! Enjoy your weekends!!
xoxoxox
Hello just thought i should pop in. Been having a tough time with Rebecca and her sleep for the past week now. I really dont think I have got more than 2 hours sleep at at time. She seems to wake herself up by rolling on her tummy and pushing to the end of the cot. Then she refuses to resettle, then when I get her back to bed she wakes up crying. She just wants to sleep with us. When I think about it, this is the time that Olivia started not sleeping. It went all the way until ...recently! So I am so tired and grumpy. I have even fallen asleep on the couch a few times and liv goes wake up mummy. I am so tired that i continue questioning myself and if i really can do this a 3rd time! And I am wondering if i want another baby so that I can try for a boy and I know thas wrong....so many questions. I just want to make sure I will be able to manage with lack of sleep and 3 kids. I envy those people who get sleeping children.
Ok better run, liv wants outside. Its been lovely here and making the most of it.
Mel, I'm sorry you're having a rough time with Becca's sleep. Did you try Karitane with Liv? Sleep deprivation can drive you nuts. If you really do want three though, you will find a way to cope ~ we always do it somehow :) My crazy cousin in law, who is the same age as me, is going back now for number EIGHT. Can you believe that?!?!!
Jen, don't get too carried away with the clothes, but you will need some new clothes for your bub as he will be born in a different season to Beau. I've found that with Jared, I was hoping to use all of Ben's but a lot are the wrong season at the wrong time.
Kris, hope you're having a great time :)
Kel, it was really good to catch up. Sorry we didn't have a lot of time to catch up, with Ben wanting me to keep going up to the big slide with him. We'll have to do it again soon.
Us, we have been flat out again. I think I might be doing too much and am going to try and take it easy for the next couple of weeks. We've been out almost every day for the past three weeks!
Jared has been adorable. He is now dancing and waving and is just so cute! He also sings as he's dancing which is really funny and rolls his tongue making funny noises. He is SO going to be my clown child
Ben has been a bit sick. Just a bit of an upset tummy, so the cloth nappies have been put away for a while. It was just too messy for me to deal with! He has been off his food too, which is totally unlike him. He usually a bottomless pit, but I barely get a sandwich in him all day right now.
I better go and start getting ready to head out to the footy. I wasn't going to go because it's such a pain to take Jared, but the season is almost over and I've already missed a few games so I want to try and get my money's worth out of my membership!
Cheer on the swannies for us DG, it's Trev's team and he wants to get Pip a footy jersey
Sorry I haven't been around, work has been very, very full-on, we've been going for an ISO9001 certification which is a heap of work ... just realised that I haven't had my period yet, it usually comes on Friday afternoon (lawdy knows why!) so we've got a HPT that I'll do tomorrow.
Kel - how are you feeling now hun, I had to get a refill on my ADs and asked Trev if he thought I've been more stable, he reckons that over the past 6 weeks or so I have been, that coincides with him finishing up at work and doing more renos. So is it a) that the stress of having to leave work to pick up Pip at any time is over. b) my husband is happy c) the house is getting finished finally! d) the women's sacred circle healing group e) all of the above?
I think that I've been sleeping a lot better cause I know that I don't need to get up and go to work after a horrid night, and I'm with Jen, downsize if you can!
Hope everyone's going well. Jen, can't believe your MIL (although the BIL sounds cool!) and Mel, hope Becca & Livvy settle down soon and you get some sleep.
Hopefully I'll catch up with everyone soon!
Hey girls, after 2 nights of somewhat better sleep I am feeling much better...besides this stupid migrane headache. Bec slept last night from 8 til 11, then fed then slept til 510...but she stayed up, then when she dozed back to sleep. Liv woke up. Am a bit tired and I think thats why I have a headache. Am hoping that the past week has just been teeth and snot. Thanks gfor your words. I know I want number 3 but was just questioning my ability...especially in a sleep deprive state!
I just thought I would pop in and see how Kaz is....have you tested???? Hope you are utd:)
We had a windy night and the trampoline got blown over.
Hello to all...sorry its short, my heads playing funny tricks
Hey Mel, I can't believe the week you've had, I hope the girls sort out soon.
Last night Pip did a super-pee so woke up wet around 6am, Trev changed him and brought him into our bed, I'm amazed he went back to sleep, with this wind, we have a tarp outside our bedroom window and it flaps horridly!
Tested - negative. Ah well. Next time! And we're trying for a girl, so only DTD prior to O :) Good news: I can drink without guilt :D
Hope all's going well, Pip & I will be heading to Yarra Glen for the market, would go to Mulvern but it's raining now and Yarra Glen is under cover :)
Have a great day ladies!
Kaz, bummer about the negative HPT. You sound pretty upbeat though, well done. Fingers crossed for pink positive next month!
Sounds like your work has been crazy.
Congrats on the house getting close to finished!
I mustn't have cheered loud enough last night! It was agonisingly close yet again, but I'm still happy with the way the boys are playing. Next season doesn't seem so grim anymore :)
Mel, glad that you had a bit of a better sleep. I had a shocker last night and lost it with Jared - ended up yelling. It really does your head in. Hope your migraine doesn't last too long. Take it easy for the next few days (as if you can!). I get two day 'migraine hangovers' now and feel terrible after I've had one.
Us, we had a shocker last night. We didn't get home from the footy until after 11 and then Jared wanted to be fed. I can't believe how reliant he is on solid food already! So we didn't get to bed until after midnight - then he was up at 3:30am for a feed. He was really sooky too and I lost it and yelled. DH came out to help, but J is such a mummy's boy - he won't settle for anybody else. Finally got back to sleep after an hour and some bonjella. The guilt hit me this morning when I felt his first tooth which finally came through last night and probably accounts for all the crying and sooking - oops!
We had DH's soccer semi's today and they won in a penalty shoot out. DH scored twice in the game, but the second one was (wrongly) disallowed so it went to the shoot out. DH went LAST and it all came down to his shot. I stood looking at the toilet block while he kicked it - I was so nervous! He got it though so he was a happy boy this afternoon. Ben loves going to soccer. The guys have all adopted him as their team mascot and he bugs them all to play kicks with him  DH's gone off to Sydney FC tonight so I'm alone, but I'm use to that on a Sunday night :)
The weather was unbelievable today! DH got a bit burnt and I think Ben might even be a little pink despite the layers of sunscreen. Of course I got NO washing done - it would have dried in no time, but we had to leave so early for soccer.
Another week awaits....
DG - DH is going to the collingwood/swans game next week - I'm thankful he's out of the house!!!!!
Hey I've found something that stops a Pip tanty in its tracks - breathing exercises! I get him to breathe in through his nose and out through his mouth - well, its mostly me breathing, but it calms him down. Hoping this will teach him how to calm himself in later years :) (of course, I can't get DH to do this, he just keeps screeching at poor Pip)
DG - I wish we had sunshine, my nappies could have done with it ... instead we had heaps of wind and then a thunderstorm, and I was happily out in it with my chainsaw!
And yeah, although still no AF ... we really need an avatar of a butterfly net catching a sperm & egg!
HEy Kaz...I wonder whats happening with AF?!?! Sounds good the breathing exercises. I did that with Olivia last night after she pulled my hair and hit me trying to get her to sleep....see what 40 minutes of day sleep does! I was so angry with her last night after she did that, it really hurt. She did apologise and went to bed, but it was already 1030 by then. I definately cant let her sleep during the day anymore. At least Bec is back to a better sleeping pattern, just woke for a feed once.
The girls are playing much better together now, especially since Bec is crawling fast and pulling herself up. Its actually nice to see, instead of Liv hurting her, shes sharing. Olivias vocab has dramatically increased and I can hold proper conversations with her. She told me this morning that she was taking dollies down to Parkmore (local shopping centre) for a walk in the pram.
Mel- hope you got a better sleep last night. Teeth suck.
Ok got to go and watch bec....I can see the bruises on her head from falling already!
HI Girls,
Just a quick hi as we are waiting to get picked up to go to a friends place ;)
Mel- Sorry you have been having such a bad time with Bec, sleep deprivation is such torture, you become a totally different person I think! I dont think there is anything wrong with trying for a particular sex baby, I guess the question is, would you be happy with another girl if that happens?
Dis- Hey congratulations for your DH kicking the winning goal- wow! Dont beat yourself up too much about missing Jared's tooth, I think we have all lost it at the 'wrong time' a lot! LOL!
Kaz - You sound like you coped through the winds ok, I thought of you when I saw the Dandenong Ranges on the news, good tip with the breathing excercises, might give that a go next time, good luck next month DTD!
See you all later xxx
Yay! We got much better sleep last night! I love Nurofen  I don't like using it a lot, but Jared was just so miserable, even after the Brauers :( Nurofen was the only thing that finally got him to sleep and then he only woke up once for a feed :) Looks like the other bottom middle tooth is getting ready to erupt too.
Ben's being super-cuddly today. I definitely think we need a week mostly at home. He's been running from one toy to the next today too, and riding his bike around. It's like he's missed all his toys and is trying to catch up with them
Kaz, we've got wind today, although I don't think it was anything like what you guys had down there yesterday.
Mel, Liv and Bec sound so cute playing together! I am half dreading/half looking forward to Jared getting mobile. We have tiles throughout our whole house (except bedrooms) so I'm expecting many bruises!
Aren't the conversations awesome now? This morning I opened Ben's shutters and straight away he said "Oh, it's windy outside!". Just so much more aware and understanding of everything.
Jen, have fun at your friends house!
Dis how cute is Ben saying it's windy? How funny! Beau is still at the repetition conversation stage where he says a series of words to get his point across but over and over! Glad Jared had a better sleep, love the Nuerofen when they need it! Enjoy home this week...friends house was ok, think we left it too late and B was crabby, if one little thing happens to him he doesnt recover! Sleep now though so I am into the dark cooking chocolate as thats all we have, have been feeling "pregnant" the last two days, think the warmer weather is draining me or something....anyway
DG - how cute of ben! Pip's doing conversations and is also parrotting us (doh)
Mel - sounds like Livvy's getting better, very cute to take dolly to the shops!
Well Pip's still alive after Trev's first day as a SaHD - apparently he didn't "get" into the story time much, but for a first time, what can you expect? And Trev caught his morning wee in the potty! hopefully the first of many!
Ahyhhows, I have just spotted my wine glass :) Have a great day all!
Hi girls,
I'm around, I'm just really busy for the last and next few days. We had Liams first birthday party on Saturday at mums house. It was good Li had a ball and so did Lily. SH ehad sooo much fun opening his pressies! He got a couple of trains which he already loves, lol! Such a boy!
I am working three full days this week, so I am going to be absolutely stuffed by Wednesday. DH is home again for the next week (I love when he has holidays!) though so it's all good. Though I think he's over being at home already. At least it gives him a taste of what I do. But I work as well when I look after the kids, so he doesn't get it totally! He did tell me this morning (on the first full day he ha the kids!) that he would gladly be at work than look after the kids and house all day. When I got home he'd done nothing as usual. Not even put on a load of washing to go into the dryer! Couldn't even manage that! He did get some spaghetti ready for dinner though. But he did ask if I really wanted pasta, only half jokingly! If I had have said no he would have gladly brought some sort of junk for dinner.
Any way ladies, I am sooo tired, and need a shower and bed so I can do this all again...up at 5.45am to be at work by 6.45.....ugh, why did I agree to this!!!
Happy Birthday Liam. Wow, a year already! Sounds like you are one busy mum Kel. Hope youre getting some well deserved sleep.
Kaz- enjoy your glass of wine. Sounds like Trevs doing alright. It will take him a while to get his own routine with Pip and the house. Hows the wind been around your place? Our trampoline got blown over and is all bent up!
Jen- if I was to have another girl, I know there would be the initial sense of disappointment, but as long as I have a healthy and happy bub, thats all that would matter....but would still love a boy;)
Mel- glad the tooth is through and neurofen is working well. Congrats on your dh kicking the goal. Arent they cute with their sentances and observations too.
I have got both girls in bed. Liv was tired at dinner time, requesting to go to bed, but managed to feed her and get her in the bath with dh and bec for a well earned wash! Shes happy to now haveher hair washed with minimal fuss but the whole putting her hair in a pony tail to keep the food out....ok thats not happening. Last night we went out for dinner for fil's bday and she ended up with ice cream in her hair and it stunk! So I had a battle with her just to put some spray on conditioner in to brush it out. At least its clean now!
Bed time for me....chat soon
Happy Birthday Liam!
Ahhhh, nothing like being up at 4am with two boys! Grrrrr. I'm so tired, I've only had about two hours' sleep so far. I couldn't be bothered fighting with Ben so he's eating an apple right now  . I'll put him back to bed soon and work on Jared soon after that. Of course it happens on a Monday night right before I have them by myself all day and night for the next 36 hours!
The joys!
eeewww mel, dont you hate that. Hope you got back to sleep.
We had a better night sleep last night. Just a 130 wake up and 630 up for the day. I actually feel so much better. Not irrational!
Hey Everybody!
Happy Birthday little man Liam, cant beleive he is one Kel! Glad you all had a great time - how is the sleep going? Did you persist?
Dis- Hope you didnt have a 4am start today you poor bugger, touch wood B has been on the 6:30's for a while which is wonderful for a chronic early waker!
Mel - Ewww ice cream hair! Beau HATES having his hair washed but at least its not longish girly hair with knots! I know how you feel about the boy/girl situation, people say to me "Would you have liked a girl this time?" Well, duh! Stating the obvious much? Grrr! But I am a happy camper with boys. As long as you are prepared for either. Do you think 3 will be it? Arent you and DH from mega families?
Kaz- Yay the SAHD days have begun! At least DH took him to the storytime, it can only get better! Mmmm wine,,,,,
Us- Feeling pretty good, mowed the lawns and did all the sweeping yesterday, was tired last night but made the mistake of wearing DH's fav pregnancy super stretchy dress last night and didnt get much sleep LOL! So lovely though that he loves my PG body, cute.
Just been to the shops and foiled my own hair on our return LOL! Might make some play doh this arvo with Beau and cut some dinosaur shapes RAAAAWWWWW!!!!!!:D
So, so tired! Another terrible night. Ben has an ear infection - the second this year. He went two whole years without getting sick (apart from allergies) and ever since he turned two, it seems to have been one thing after the other :(
Jared's second tooth is almost through, but he also has a cold :( Finding it very hard to breath and therefore sleep so I'm a zombie right now :(
Hope you're all better than us
Hi!
Sorry I've haven't been writing...just got caught up in a few things!!
All good here...although I have had a bit more spotting...I'm trying not to stress over it - just hoping that everything is fine!!
Boys are well - after a bit of a week of them playing up big time they seemed to have settled down again luckily!!
Ethan is sleeping through more often than not at the moment which is great!! If only Dylan would - LOL! Louis sleeps well also though so 2 out of 3 isn't too bad!!
Ethan has 2 little toothie pegs now which is cute...
Got to go - Louis has kinder and my friend is here to pick him up...will catch up again later!!
Hey Kris hugs to you, be thinking of you x I am so sorry you have to go through a bit of spotting again. Will you go see your doc or just wait and see? You and your little sticky one will be fine ;)
Dis - So sorry things are bad with you, poor Ben and his ear infection, is he on ab's for it? Hopefully that will give him and you some rest. Beau had flu symptoms every time he cut a tooth when he was Jareds age, every time he got it I knew a new tooth was around the corner....
Beau is in a feral crying mood this arvo, have just cooked up some play dough lets hope that helps.......
Glad you had a good time Kristie...am sory to hear you are spotting again though. Will you be due for another scan soon?
Mel- bugger on the crappy sleeps. Can symapthise with you...look at how I was last week. A total mess. The girls were sick with colds and bec cutting teeth, fortunately we are over the worst of it and touch wood the weather improves and colds stay away. Bec looks as though shes going to be a winner with her teeth!!! So expect me to come crying in here all the time.
Jen- youre one busy lady. I need motivation to mow lawns. I think its dh job so I refuse to do it. I clean up dog poo so the least he could do was mow!!!!! Love your u/s pic on fb:)
Kaz...has af arrived?
kel- everything ok?
We are good and back to normal. Olivias face looks great from using creams. I still have 5 kgs to loose and lost mojo while the girls were sick/playing up, so got to get back into it. At least I havent gained!! Got to work out whats for dinner....i think take away, maybe indian or falafals from souvalaki hut....or i could find something in the cupboards!
I got an hours' sleep this afternoon!!! I think it's the only thing that is going to get me through tonight. DH has soccer training and I've told him to go since they have finals this week. He's taking his phone though so if things get too bad I'll call him to come home.
Ben is still running a temp even though he's started taking his ABs. I guess he's only taken a couple of doses so I should give them time to work - but I'm not a patient person!!! Jared is being a bit of a nightmare. The only way I can get him to sleep is feeding him to sleep. I don't mind doing it, but then he gets wind so wakes up about an hour later anyway. When I try to get him to sleep in my arms he just SCREAMS. I'm not good with screaming since neither of them have really been screamers. Especially not good when you're running on next to no sleep.
Mel, I know you had one of these weeks last week and knowing that you finally got the the light at the end of the tunnel is helping me get through this right now :wall:
Go the takeaway for tonight. We're having frozen fish and chips because anything else just seems too hard!
Jen, I don't know whether J has a cold or if it is just his teeth. Whatever it is I hope it goes away soon!
Aren't you good making up some playdough? I always say I'm going to make up playdough or fingerpaint but never seem to get around to it. I think I'm subliminally making myself stop because of the mess  When it gets warmer I will be more keen to do it as we can do it outside then and I won't care as much about the mess.
Kris, sorry you're still spotting. I was worried sick when I got it with Jared too so I know how you feel. How many weeks are you now? When is your next appt/scan?
Kel, are you hanging in there? I don't expect we'll see you much until you finish working your full days. Hope your kids are sleeping for you and that DH is giving you all the help you need.
Kaz, well done to your DH with Pip and the potty! Is Pip going into Daycare at all now? My DH wants to be a SAHD after our third bub because my job and salary are too good to give up. I'm not sold on the idea yet!
Right, now I've had a bit of a recharge I'm ready to handle the kiddies again. Ben's already tired so I'll drug him up and put him to bed early tonight I think. That sounds terrible, but our doc did tell us to ply him with Nurofen (proper dosages of course) to keep his temps down and he needs more ABs before bed too. Thank goodness they make these kiddies meds taste so nice :)
hey Mel...how is the sleep going? Nothing worse hey! Bec is managing to get back to a somewhat normal routine, so only one or two wake ups a night. For some reason though I am very tired this morning and would love to go back to sleep, but I cant. I know AF is due in a few days so thats probably why....grumpy, tired, cramps, craving chocolate....grumpy...oh i said that. I think this is my last cycle on the pill. Am going to start charting and try for that boy.
Already bored today too! Need to work out whats for tea and pop it in the slow cooker (feeling lazy) and I might head out somewhere instead of being inside. DH is working tomorrow too so alone again.
DHs brother just did his final interview yesterday for the police and got accepted. All very exciting, so no doubt we will have celebrations over the weekend.
Ok garbage guts wants more to eat...for a girl, Liv can certainly put the food away!
Mel, we are doing MUCH better with the sleep. Last night was the first night in almost a week that Ben slept through, and Jared only woke up at 4:15 for a feed and straight back to bed until 7:45! Woohoo! I'm hoping we are back to normal. No more 3 or 4am parties for this house :D
Ooooh, so exciting for you Mel! We're going to stop being careful in about two months' but I doubt anything will happen until Jared weans a bit. That's what was required last time, Ben stopped BFing and exactly one month later (after a very painful first AF in nearly 2 years) I was pg!
Must be something in the air today because I'm feeling really fidgety too. Can't call it boredom because I have so much to do, but I don't want to do it. The house needs a really good tidy up since I've done nothing but bare essentials all week. I'm thinking slow cooker for dinner too. DH is going to the footy tonight ~ I think he needs some time away from us after this shocking week. I need some time away too, but it's not going to happen with Jared so I'll just suck it up!
Hi!
Sorry I'm not posting much - I'm in la la land at the moment...Dh and I had an argument last night as well which I'm not happy about!! GRRRRR!!!!! He really is good most of the time but sometimes he's as thick as a brick!! It came after a week of him being out one whole arvo and night and then coming home with a headache and sleeping the next arvo and night away and then the next being cranky and sitting on the computer all night...Basically felt like I was home alone with the kids this week!! I know I'm a bit hormonal as well but whenever I get like that and I tell him I need him to be around and get close to me he pulls away even further!! Drives me crazy!! Anyway...he ended up cracking it - but he can just go to sleep and block it all out - so I'm left feeling crappy - he's sent me text messages today saying he loves me - which I know anyway - but it doesn't change the fact that he got me all upset and didn't really care about it! Why is it with men that if you get upset or need more of them for whatever reason they turn it all around and end up being the cranky ones??? GRRRR!!!!
I'm sorry for the vent - haven't had one for a while!!! I think I'm just tired and a bit more stressed than usual and some more support from dh would be nice...Anyway...
Out for dinner tonight with my Oct forum girls!! Going to docklands - I've never been so should be nice!! Just need to get my energy levels happening this arvo - LOL!
Spotting seems to have stopped again...I've got a scan in 3 weeks so will just wait it out...I'm 9 weeks tomorrow so time is flying to be honest!! I have an appt with the hospital in a week and a half so will see what they say also...Not much I can do about it anyway...
Jen - How good are you making play dought!!
Mel - That's great Olivia is going well with those creams!! Good luck losing your last 5kg...I think I've put that much on! LOL! I'm just emotional eating at the moment so I don't stop all day....feel awful for it though...
How exciting that this is your last cycle before ttc!!!
Dis - Sorry to hear the boys are so sick! Glad they seem to be sleeping better! How exciting ttc in a couple of months!!
Got to go - mums on the phone going on about her diet - soo can't be bothered listening to her...boring!
Thats great things are getting back to normal, makes you feel more human! I did some cc with Bec today for her morning sleep. She is just terrible when it comes to putting herself back to sleep. I find it hard too because I let her cry a bit longer the other night and she woke Liv up twice...they are in the same room so its harder. Today it took her about 30 minutes to get to sleep. She cried the whole time. I did sit with her for a while at the end and pat her and stroked her head. She was obviously tired, rubbing her face her eyes, tossing and turning. She eventually nodded off. I just dont have much of a routine for her, so shes had a morning sleep from 1020 til 1145, and I bet she wont go for her arvo nap til 3...then she will be up late. I know with liv she was napping from 1pm til 3pm ish but I'm not sure how or waht to do with Bec. I want to get her to have an earlier arvo nap but struggle at the best of times. I dont mind her going to bed a bit later than Liv but last night was 11pm and I am over it by then!
ANY advise to routines? She wakes around 630 most mornings, never later though, but sometimes earlier.
Posted at the same time Kris...am sorry to hear your having fights with your dh. I think you know as much as me that thats the way they are and I know it doesnt make it any excuse for his behaviour. I know my husband thinks its alright to go out all night and sleep the next day away ( i know thats not the same...just trying to give example). Here I am trying to give you some advise...youre the best advise giver!!! Anyway hugs to you. Have a good night tonight you deserve it.
Ok becs fallen down again....got her first black eye yesterday....
